I have modified SRS WOW HD driver installation to enable it while using bluetooth headphones as described on first page of this thread.
All necessary registry changes are already in the CAB.
Simply install CAB file and have fun.

I have a problem with using the LG menu and Spacer. Because of the different spacing of the calender messages (depending on number of appointments) which also apear in the today-screen, the LG-buttons keep switching from place if I want to position them exactly at the bottom of the screen.
Does anybody have a solution for this?
For now I've positioned them under the HTC-home menu in the today-screen.

I have installed the kaiser home screen and fixes to my TC from Mahmood's post. Now after a call or before making a call the buttons are out of place. The video call button is at the top right and the last call is black and off center. Anyone seen this happen before???

i mean, in my htc ppc 2003 pressing the action button once would open a message (it still does) but if u pressed it again it would close that message and go back to inbox. but now, in WM6, it goes to the contact the sms came from instead.

also, does anyone know how to sort INCOMING sms's according to RECEIVED time n not according to SENT time? incoming sms's from different timezones are now scattered because the SENT times from those different timezones are different, even if the RECEIVED time is very close to eachother.

By the way if somebody doesn't know:
you can put ".mp3" not only on the incoming calls, but also on incoming sms and alarm.
You just need to convert .mp3 to .wma for SMS and to .wav for alarm. Constraints of converting are: mono (stereo won't play) and less than 5Mb. I'm not sure about these constraints but I couldn't apply converted files before I adjust these conditions.
Put the result into \Windows\ folder and you will be able to choose your favourite sound without any third party installations.

It's not something new... additionally you can put your mp3/wma/wav files in /Storage Card/My Documents and save your main memory''s space.

You can change it easily with HTC Home Customizer.

Start -> Programs , then scroll up an down. --> Big lag

Then try starting the Program from the HTC Launcher --> Now everything is way faster.

Perhaps its a compleatly different program to display the program list. I there any way to change the link from Start/Program to run the same proggi as in the HTC Laucher? Could not find a link in the Reg-Edit under HKLM/Software/HTC/HTCHome/Lauchner/1

Any Ideas? So far I have not found a way to get it modified.

Answer:
It's that simple: Set a shortcut to \Windows\folderview.exe
and you have the system open the Programs folder without the lag.
You can assign this also to a softkey or to FTouchflo gesture or
whatever you want.

All audio setup is no longer in registry for Cruise.

For French roms, setup is in file \windows\AudioPara4-HTC-France_V1.csv

For other roms, it could be (I cannot check, I've just a French Cruise) in \windows\AudioPara3.csv

There you have all setup parameters for managing audio.

Can't imagine that this is related to the settings you made
(unless you did others) because these are only affecting WLAN,
not the Data transfer. Unfortunately I do not know a fix for
your problem. To default the settings maybe the solution is to
uninstall and reinstall the Comm Manager. This should reset the
settings. Don't know exactly though.

Try Schaps Advanced Config and in the Menu choose Comm Manager.
Theres an option to choose the default Comm Manager style.
Did not use it yet, but should IMO work. Please report.

It doesn't work. You didn't understand, I have no soft-buttons on my TC!!! There are no hardware button for soft actions for sure.
I was talking about the action-buttons on today screen. By default there are Calendar and Contacts there.
I can tweak my registry in the way:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112\Default = New SMS
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112\Open = \windows\tmail.exe
after that to the left action button it is New SMS on Today screen, but it doesn't goes directly to New SMS, and suggests to choose account first.

doesn't work

Look at my screenshots below and learn: :D

You just have to copy the "New SMS.lnk" into the Programs folder,
then locate the registry key you posted above (112 or 113)
Create a Default String with prefered name of your button.
Then create a String with name "Open" and
String value "\Programs\New SMS.lnk" (or wherever you copied the lnk file).

And it's working great after next Softreset (look my screenshots).

i've tested some more on these conditions.

alarm: .wav under 5mb stereo plays. when it was over 12mb it din't play. don't know the actual size limit. seems to must be in windows folder.

sms: .wma and .wav can be stereo and over 5mb. don't know the size limit, but no need for long sms tune i guess. can be in my documents on phone or my documents on memory card.

Nice one, this view seems to be much clearer as the original view, but what happens to video call options?

just tested by myself, The "Videoanruf" (videocall) ist under the right Menu soft button. But works totally different, no Cam shows up and the call goes out, even when there is no cam-option on the oher side available. Seems that this dosent work properly any more. And the "HTC phone" shows up more optional menu items. I would like to have both things mixed...

Your pictures are tagged with the gps coordinates, you can upload your pictures to google earth or other programs and then you can see/share your pictures by its coordinates

now you should be able to send up to 1MB over MMS

The "Size Limit" isn't a value you can change, my REG key says:

See.... many values, not as simple as the one quoted, you cant change "Size Limit" because it a 'FOLDER' in the registry.... do you understand now? Doing a search will also reveal that you have to change a key elsewhere too for it to work, do you now understand?

Tips & Tricks e.t.c are great, just test them and get it right before posting.

Did you do a soft reset afterwards ?

Try the tweak by performing a hard reset first so that you have a clean rom.
Maybe some other settings were interfering.

It insert to the photo's details the coordinates where the photo being taken, so you can see later where every photo was taken.
Of course you need to have the GPS working and to have a fix, before taking a photo.

increased touchflo sentivity
Installed the battery perdcentage status
Installed webcameraplus

My problem is that i cant select multiple files to copy when i touch the screen and i go up or down for selecting my scroll moves and i cant select.didn't have this problem before i tweaked and installed the things above.

i increased the touchflo sensivity to 8000 when i redused this to 3500 i was able to select files so i set it now to 3250

I installed the colored Comm Manager cab, everything is working well after troubleshooting and reading this thread.

However, I now discovered I have 2 Comm manager icons in my Programs directory: "Comm Manager" and "Commmanager". Both links work.

I wanted to delete the "Commmanager" icon and tried going to my device/windows/programs but it only lists the "Comm Manager" icon.

Can someone please help? Thanks in advance.

Same problem with 8gb, little trick copy some dummy files to sd so that you will exceed the 4 gb border, afterwards you can use the rest up to 6/8 gb for pictures and video.Not a real solution, but a quick help.

Hi all,

I installed the colored Comm Manager cab, everything is working well after troubleshooting and reading this thread.

However, I now discovered I have 2 Comm manager icons in my Programs directory: "Comm Manager" and "Commmanager". Both links work.

I wanted to delete the "Commmanager" icon and tried going to my device/windows/programs but it only lists the "Comm Manager" icon.

Can someone please help? Thanks in advance.

I mean the bars where you can see the battery-, network-, sound- status etc. (top bar) and the links to calendar and contacts (bottom bar)? Is it possible to delete the lower bar? Hey guys this will be agift for u all . There is two theme that i have made for the htc polaris. One is Htc audi manager GREEN version and the other one is an iphone version so i hoop that u all will like these two themes. The green them i have extracted files from Pdaviet ROM and then put them in CAB file. U can install and the uninstall with no problems and u can always come back to orignal htc audio manager theme. when u want to try the second theme first u should uninstall the first one u installed and then install the second one. Any way see the screen shots and below is the file that contains both the themes.

Same problem with 8gb, little trick copy some dummy files to sd so that you will exceed the 4 gb border, afterwards you can use the rest up to 6/8 gb for pictures and video.Not a real solution, but a quick help.

My problem is that i cant select multiple files to copy when i touch the screen and i go up or down for selecting my scroll moves and i cant select........................

I found it, i increased the touchflo sensivity to 8000 when i redused this to 3500 i was able to select files so i set it now to 3250Nice one, same thing happened to me, thanks for the heads-up.

My Polaris does not disconnect from the GPRS-network after synchronising.

I assume this consumes extra battery, now i know this:

are your data connections active? try this:

HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings\

delete or rename the SuspendResume to XXXX then Add new one as name SuspendResume and select the type to be String the value of this key set to GPRS_bye_if_device_off

and look for the other key name CacheTime (if not found add new one with type of Dword) then set it to the number of second before disconnect like this

CacheTime = 60

check for every thing right and then make a soft reset after if reboot go to turn on GPRS like check your mail and after the download mail complete and wait for 60 second it auto disconncet GPRS.

I wonder it work I notice I has been make this before but it doesn't work so I decide to rename the key SuspendResume and make a new one and now I very happy with this registry hack on my Treo750

It turns out that the cache time dword is irrelevant (i.e. does not work).
The GPRS disconnects always about 10 seconds after the last packet no matter the cache time value. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355742) Indeed changing the cache to 60 does not have an effect on the connectiontime.

Is it suitable to use the SuspendResume on the polaris?

Thnks. It is not too late. Just changed things like the battery/clock, that are the same in both machines. You can use the program if you don't touch anything important (cache and that kind of staff)

I would be carefull with changing anything with data connections of phone settings using kaisertweak or advanced schapps config.

Schapps advanced config froze my unit a few times when i tried changing some data connection settings. other things are fine like soft key changing and what not, but i'd stay away from phone settings and data connection settings.

I use wifi standby mode setting in kaisertweak that is it (so wifi does not turn off when i go into suspend) and it works fine. I use other settings in advanced config also.

Just be prepared to reflash if you decide to try some stuff, it may not work or it might freeze your device.

Recently i have purchased HTC TOUCH CRUISE from USA, but I am working with UN in Pristina KOSOVO in europe. i have installed Google Navigator on it to find Location GPS sometime working very well some times not !! most of the time it shows Monoco in france Location!!! a mean longtitude and latitude ... in kosovo we are using VALA sim card that belong to MONOCO in france telecominicaton based in MONOCO because there isnt any telecomminication service here ..on the street people selling VALA sim card and working very well...
Any way i have used 2-3 different software to make sure GPS is working precisely but most of the time GPS shows MONOCO Longtitude an Latitude :) different location . Also i have updated quickgps using local internet same...

so what should be reason !!! how can i solve this problem...

I had an identical problem, with the tweak enablefastdormant, so i search the registry and find out this key:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone
change the dword: "Sleep : 0".
Do a softreset.
And it started working.

There is no kaiser hack or polaris hack.
These hack are all software specific and mostly WM specific so we can use that for all "Windows mobile" based devices.

does anyone know how to change the action button function in the outlook sms app?

i mean, in my htc ppc 2003 pressing the action button once would open a message (it still does) but if u pressed it again it would close that message and go back to inbox. but now, in WM6, it goes to the contact the sms came from instead.

i want the old style back, so i can press the action button to close the message and go back to inbox...


also, does anyone know how to sort INCOMING sms's according to RECEIVED time n not according to SENT time? incoming sms's from different timezones are now scattered because the SENT times from those different timezones are different, even if the RECEIVED time is very close to eachother.

These hack are all software specific and ........I was refering to that particular hack/patch (MMS Size) and besides, you are wrong, if you check around the forums you will see many warning specifying caution when using kaiser derived "software" hacks on the polaris.

As far as I know, HTC Polaris (O2 XDA Orbit 2) does not have an extended rom.

my TC plays the GIF files at low speed,u guys know if we can help this with tweaks?
I also have the HTC P3300 when i had windows mobile 5 on it the GIF's were played in good speed.i updated it to windows mobile 6 and the GIF's are playing now at low speed.

Change your SMS font/size

1. Install Total Commander.
download here

2. Copy the fonts that you want into /Windows/Fonts/ of your polaris

3. Open Total Commander, go to /Windows/ directory. There is a file "read_style.css" there. COPY this file to storage card. (make sure you make a back up for this file first before editing it!!)

4. Edit "read_style.css" on Storage Card (Highlight the file, press FILE>EDIT)

5. Change "font-size" to any number you like (eg: 7pt for smaller font size, or 14pt for bigger font size) at the BODY and TABLE section.

6. Change "font-family" to any font you've added into the /Windows/Fonts/ at the BODY section.

7. Save the file.

8. Copy this file back to /Windows/.

9. Go to your inbox and see the changes.

TO change the font size when composing sms, change the registry value of
"HKLM\software\microsoft\inbox\RichEditHostFontSize" (eg: 8 for smaller font size or 14 for bigger font size), "HKLM\software\microsoft\inbox\RichEditHostFontFace" to any font you've added into your /Windows/Fonts/

cool. i use it everyday day but cant wait for htc to do a windows 6.1 upgrade where the threaded sms is embedded. or maybe some one can create a rom that will reAlly wwooowww me. must of the roms are all the same and the windows applications out there have been floating around for the longest while.

Maybe this is a silly answer, but couldn't you just create seperate contacts for the different phones? So for one you could have John Doe (iPhone), another could be John Doe (Touch Cruise), and a third could be John Doe (Home). That way, you know EXACTLY which phone sent you the text message. Sure it's going to make your directory a little bigger, but it solves your problem until another work around is found.

So I should probably do some searching, but this is news to me. CorePlayer can playback YouTube videos? When I installed it recently, I did so because divx files were said to playback best on the Touch Cruise. So I ripped Tron with SPB Mobile DVD, and put it in Divx (Highest Quality bitrate) format.

If I can also use this to watch YouTube videos somehow, that would be pretty sweet. As SkyFire has the best chance of the programs I've tried so far, but the video just can't keep up.

Hi yes I could do that... like what i used to do during the time when all the contacts have to be saved on a sim card... but this is just not right. i used to have this feature on my symbian phones and i though wm phones are supposed to be much more enhanced... *sigh*

I'm trying to change the sound notifications for SMS sent(not MMS) and delete confirmation.

The options to change these sounds doesn't appear in settings > sounds and notifications on my device...?

I think these sounds are associated with the files Alarm1 and Alarm2 in the windows directory, but I can't edit / delete these at all?

I had installed Vito SMS chat on my TC to get the threaded sms chats, but since the SMS/MMS are connected it only allows SMS. I really like the program, but I can't trade off the occasional hot pics my wife will send me while at work. I don't see any way to fix it either, but I could be wrong.

Wooow, didn't knew that all is just html and CSS based. I always wanted to style the threadsms, but I can't find the HTML that's generating this... I did find the iframe_style.css (in windows/), and the treadsms.html, but that is redirecting to an iframe which I cant find (named: THREADIFRAME).

so besides creating 1 entry for every number of a contact, there's NO BETTER WAY?? can anyone think of something? I'm sure WM can do better than this!

This is a solution for my problem. I need the little Resco keyboard for some programs and the big Touchkeyboard for others (this is wonderful for sms, etc, but huge for rename files in Resco Explorer, for example)

Another possibles solutions:

1) It ´s posible assign any button to toggle betwen sip modes? "One touch display TouchKeyboard, another touch display RescoKeyboard, etc"

2) It´s possible the best solution? Assign sip mode automatically when we launch a program; without manual steps to choice it. Example: 1) we launch Calendar and automatically sip toggle to TouchKeyboard; 2) then when we launch Excel automatically sip toggle to Keyboard; 3) then when we launch Word automatically sip toggle to Zoomboard.. etc, etc.

I messed up. I deleted a program (without back up) and lost what, as far as I know, is called the quick launcher. You know, with the clock, the weather button and numbers for e-mails, missed calls etc. which looks similar than the picture below.

Use 6 Tabs with htc home :

You need to edit your registry to get our music tab back,

HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCHome

Add new string,

Tabsetting = 1,2,3,4,5,6

You can change the order of the numbers to sort the tabs how you like

1 = Clock tab
2 = Favorite People tab
3 = Weather tab
4 = Launcher tab
5 = Music tab
6 = Profiles tab

refresh the htc home to get the tabs u can do it by unchecking the today contects and then checking it and it will refresh and
people who missed the favorites home tab delete this registry key :

HKLM\Software\OEM\MASD\Quickdial

delete it an drefresh thats alll and u will get all the 6 tabs !!

I believe that first yo have to assing the contacts to Favourites side on Cube. Try it.

i mean, in my htc ppc 2003 pressing the action button once would open a message (it still does) but if u pressed it again it would close that message and go back to inbox. but now, in WM6, it goes to the contact the sms came from instead.

also, does anyone know how to sort INCOMING sms's according to RECEIVED time n not according to SENT time? incoming sms's from different timezones are now scattered because the SENT times from those different timezones are different, even if the RECEIVED time is very close to eachother.

Could be, but if I go into Settings -> Phone -> Services tab I have a list of services. If I select the "Call Forwarding" setting and click "Get Settings" I will get several options, one of them being to forward to a number (voicemail) after how many seconds.

Search for KaiserTweak. It can enable exactly what you want.
Something called Fast Dormant or so. It's one of the first options.

Ok guys, I got a tricky one: how to set the camera image counter to a custom value?

Everytime I hardreset my Polaris the damn application starts counting up from IMG0001.JPG again... HTF can I manually set that to the latest picture taken?

Edit: Was a tricky one but I solved it myself. Under [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Camera\5.04\Prefere nces] you'll find an entry VALUES. Change bit 0068 to the desired value in hex. Example: Mine was 06 and resulted in IMG0006.JPG, I now changed to 74 which equals 116 in hex, my next pic will be named IMG0116.JPG

Somehow this doesnt work for me. I have this on my machine, import the file (with SKTools) and did a softreset. But the activesync thing just keep poping up!?!

Are you guys aware that emoticons are built into the phone already? Just softpress the camera button when typing an SMS message and you get a full screen of emoticons and symbols!

Somehow im to noobish to handle this :P. When im in a sms message and (soft)press on the camera button it just lighting up the hardbuttons+scrollweel or it popups the camera. hmmm so i did something wrong...again :(. But what?! :P

AFAIK no. You could add a registry entry to make it appear in the list, but no event would ever trigger it.

Tomtom (...) locks the screen after 15/20 min...
I suggest you try a hardreset (totally wipe your device) first and then try TomTom on the totally empty and fresh device. If it doesnt lock up, it obviously was a software conflict with something you installed before. If it still locks up, hardreset again, and then I suggest you try a different version of TomTom (theres some links and cabs flying around in this forum).

As all of you, I've discovered some nice Tweaks here to improve my Cruise, thank you Mahmood and all to share your knowledges.

Actually, with some other modifications, I was abble to gain somethine like 10 - 15 % gain in memories, a nicer, faster and smoother interface (excuse my bad english).

So, as you're all nice, I'll let you share too ;)

The first thing was discovering SPB Mobile shell 2. At first, I thought that it is like the original Cube of our phones, nothing more. Then, using it, I realized I was wrong, it's so much more...

Actually, everything is nicer and faster, even the transitions. You can manage everything with fingers, forgetting the pen (one more time, excuse my bad english).

Then, you can improve your interface with so many beautiful skins that are working perfectly, easy to install and easy to use (many thanks to all the skinners).. For this, check at this thread. Just amazing :

After that, I customized my home screen to fit with my mobile shell skin (the tsk file). The result is perfect. I also turned of HTC home plugin to remplace it with other shortcuts like my msn account, my gps, a shortcut to S2U2.

Then, I realized that the cube was simply useless with my new interface, which is faster, so much more beautiful, and customisable. So, I decided to remove the cube. For this, check at this thread :

As the developper of this tricks said ; "you will have an extra 6,5 mb memory program memory available." The thing is.... it works perfectly and for my part, it's actually more than 6.5 mb ;) something like 10 % ;) But, it's important to copy the files he provides, which are empty. If you simply disable the cube with a reg editor, you won't gain any memory.

I've also installed S2U2, so nice cab, which will offer you an easiest way to unlock your phone and fits perfectly with my new interface. And you'll see the difference when you're outdoor trying to turn on your phone (first you can see what's on your screen, and then it's so easy to turn on you can do it in the dark)

To manage my contacts it's PCM contact. And the keyboard is resco keyboard pro, the only one I'm abble to use actually.

At the end, I can tell you all that at first my Cruise was using something like 50% of memory, whitout any applications running. Now, I'm between 35 % - 40 % . Everything goes faster, and my new interface makes my I(you know what..) owners friends jealous lol ;)

The question I'm asking to myself now is (what If I remove my htc home blue plugin) will I gain more memory again ???!!!??? Will my system still stay stable as it is right now ?

Ok, another question is about the first page of this thread, "23.increase the sensitivity for all screen presses:

damn, I forgot.. The best way to use your wifi and internet is Opera 9.5. Nothing to do with the version of our cruise ;)

And videos are played with Coreplayer (work perfectly with the gain of memory, even with this damn driver issue)

25.Commmanager FONTS messed up how to solve the problem :
Copy arial.ttf and tahoma.ttf fonts from your windows/fonts foldr of your pc to ppc windows/fonts folder. i have included mine with attachment below see if it works. Unzip fonts from attachment and copy these fonts to ppc Windos/Fonts folder and soft reset !! i have also made the cab file for u so u can also use that and see after soft reseting if the fonts are in windows/fonts folder or see if the commmanager fonts are changed

Can some1 help me with this, because when i look in the font map. There is an font called arial.tff..but i can not copy my new font to this folder. Because the old font is in use...bah. But i can rename it :S. Does somebody know where in the register i can specify a new font? The comm manager looks pretty messed up now!

Hi i am new to PPC. Jus got my TC 2 wks ago and am really enjoying the phone & this thread tremendously! Someone wrote on another website the following tip to create shortcut for text messaging.

"All you need to do is make a shortcut to Windows/tmail.exe. You will need an advanced file explorer like Resco Explorer to do this because you want to add some parameters to this shortcut. You can do this by editing the properties of the shortcut. If you make a shortcut to "Windows\tmail.exe" -service "SMS" -to "1234567" it will open an empty text message to the phone number 1234567. If you leave the phone number and keep the quotes empty it will just open a new text message. You can even predefine a text for your message. Get yourself in trouble too often? "Windows\tmail.exe" -service "SMS" -to "1234567" -body "I'm sorry... x" will open a text message to 1234567 with "I'm sorry... x" as a text for some immediate damage control"

hey francescrm, thanx very much for the quick reply. Yup i googled Resco Explorer previously before posting but couldn't really understand what to do with it. Being rather new to windows mobile, i'm afraid i may be guilty of being overly cautious with the tweaks. I have been trying out with the registry tweaks posted generously in this thread. So far it's been successful and satisfying! However, this particular shortcut creation tip seems to be somehow different.

Maybe not a "step-by-step" but rather a clearer diescription of what to do, i suppose.....thanx anyway for the help. i'll keep trying though.....but CAUTIOUSLY! Ha Ha!

Hey ppl, i have found an answer to my own query! Or rather i have been TAUGHT an answer! I would just like to share it here for those who are interested.

"What you would need is to open your Notepad on your desktop PC and then type this in it :

20#"\Windows\tmail.exe" -service "SMS" -to "1234567" and 1234567 being the receipient's phone number, you can copy and paste what i have bold also.

After you have done so save the file as, let's say WifeSMS.lnk and lnk being LNK not INK, many have made the mistake of saving it as ink instead of lnk.

Connect your device to your desktop via Activesync and transfer the whole file to your Windows folder, after that you can use vicott's KeySwop to assign it to your soft keys and wah la, SMS to your wife would be easier now..."

I have successfully created the shortcut using this method. However, instead of assigning it to the soft key, i copied the file into the Start Menu folder under Windows instead. After dat i can simply place it in my start menu or Launcher. If you wanna add a predefined text to the message you may also write it thus : 20#"\Windows\tmail.exe" -service "SMS" -to "1234567" -body "I am on the way" and I am on the way is obviously the predefined text.

hi mahmood, just wanna make sure we understand each other correctly:

i want to use 2 different languages at the same time. so my word prediction dictionary would be a mix of the english dictionary and the dutch dictionary. i then could use word prediction for both english messages and dutch messages for example, without having to change the dictionary language in settings every time.

My cruise started to go carzy on me..
dometimes the flashing green led on the right which indicates that it is connected to the cell network stops blinking and sometimes out of no-where the blue led on the left is turned on or flashing instead (bluetooth is off!!)
another thing the reset button on the cruise's bottom ddoes not reset the device anymore only turns off the screen.
has anyone had such problems? please help any suggestions will be appreciated (except for using the warranty as it was bought on another country).

When you receive a call, the caller's name or number is displayed in a ridiculously small font at the bottom of the screen.

Which means that you have to train your eyes very hard (and reach for your glasses if you have poor eyesight !) before answering a call in order to identify the caller.

The stupidity of this is so obvious I just can't believe the guys at Microsoft overlooked such a BASIC usability issue.... Yet they did apparently !!!

What's more worrying, it looks like there is NO add-on or registry hack to remedy this !!??

I'm sure I've seen this tweak somewhere in the thread, but failed to find it this time.

I want to use a hardware button to "scroll" through the levels of backlight: minimal, medium and maximum. Alomost like the corresponding feature of the HTC Home Plugin...

I remember someone discribing the process of installing some programm and then mapping it to a hard key with parameters like 1,6,10...

Actually, I heard of S2U2 before and meant to install it someday, but I didn't know it featured a full-screen caller display..

This is really neat, probably the most useful piece of freeware I've found so far, and I'm going to retribute the author right away by donating throuh Paypal if possible ! I also installed his other "S2V" (Slide2View" freeware which is brilliant too !

Does anyone know how to enable this again? I've seen some of the Polaris screens here and they do have the battery icon. I have no idea how to get this onto mine. The place where my battery icon should be is replaced with a clock. Removing the clock does not help in getting the battery icon back :(

If I remember correctly, you can do so in Schap Advance Config 2.10. Give it a try.

You are welcomed. Glad to solve your problem. In case you are trying and find some problem attaching good resolution (not stretch) photo to your contact which can be used in the full screen callerID, you need to assign the picture using PocketCM. Don't know why the default Contact doesn't work. :(

If you are a music lover and use your Touch Cruise/Polaris for music, you should also check out A_C S2P (Slide2Play). :)

Hi all,

I quickly discovered the built-in reminder system in WM6 is pretty unusable since the alarms sound only for like 2 secs and there's no "Snooze" feature.

This is annoying, and I actually have to use my old Nokia phone to wake up in the morning !!

I did a bit of research and found a neat freeware add-on called "Pocket Wakeup".

It(s got all the features you can think of, but unfortunately when I tested it it didn't actually "wake up" my Touch Cruise at the alarm time.

I suspect this was because the screen was off and the device was on stand-by. As soon as I pressed the power button to wake the PDA, the alarm sounded... But it was running 30 mins late !!!

May be a related thing is I noticed than when waking up the Touch Cruise from stand-by, in "Today's" screen you can see the time quickly update from the time the device was put on stand-by to the actual time. So I'm not sure whether it is just a matter of screen refresh (just updating the screen) or if the device doesn't keep up track of time when on stand-by and somehow maybe resynchronizes itself with the cell network to get updated time ?

So my question is: is there a problem with the clock in the HTC Polaris/Touch Cruise ? Or is it simply a problem with this "Pocket Wakeup" software I tried ?

In the latter case, I welcome duggestions for better freeware reminder apps !

Sorry for the cross posting, as I have already asked in the main sub forum, but anyone know how to remove the icons I mention below.

I have my Today screen almost where I want if the HTC Home and LG plug in, but I can't get rid of a few items to Place the LG bar at the bottom of the screen.

As you'll see on the shot I've circled a some icons, now I can lose the o2 icon by removing the Startup reference and I know how to lose the Calendar\Contact bar but I cannot get rid of the Battery and Comm icons.

Any ideas.

Most of these programs (with the short cuts in the system tray, i.e. the bar you are trying to get rid of the icons) should come with the setting to able/disable the display on the system tray. Do check out each of these programmes.

For e.g. I know Pocket Informant will display icon on system tray as well. I can disable it in its setting.

Cheers I think you have just solved it for me by mentioning that the space is the Sytem Tray, by using that for searching against I have found the Registry entry I needed

Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/ Software/ HTC/ Trayapplet

That mixed with what i already knew about losing the bottom bar I could well be sorted.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll try out Schap Advance Config 2.10 when i can. The registry tweak worked for me. This is my first time tweaking the registry on the TC so i was a bit uncertain but there is always the hard reset if i f up :D

You just have to copy the "New SMS.lnk" into the Programs folder,
then locate the registry key you posted above (112 or 113)
Create a Default String with prefered name of your button.
Then create a String with name "Open" and
String value "\Programs\New SMS.lnk" (or wherever you copied the lnk file).

And it's working great after next Softreset (look my screenshots).

well i mean i receive sms from different countries, so different timezones. they are ordered in my inbox by their local time, not MY local time.. the result is that new messages are not neatly all up in my inbox but scattered..

for example: i get one sms from a friend in my own country, one from someone in the US and one from someone in indonesia. i receive them all shortly after one another, but they are not shown neatly following eachother in my inbox. the one from US is somewhere down the list because the US time is earlier then in my country. the one from indonesia is somewhere up in the list because indonesian time is ahead of my local time. the one from my own country is somewhere in the middle. but they are separated by very different timestamps (becos of the large differences in local times). so if on the same day i received more messages in my inbox, the new messages will appear scattered, and not neatly following eachother..

hope this is clear enough :) i realise its not easy to explain without being able to show you.. (and i dont have a screenshot)

what i want is that my phone groups incoming sms's according to timestamps corresponding with MY local time, not the time in the country of origin, which is often a totally different timezone..

can you help?

The problem I think is that when my device comes alive becase of i.e. a reminder the touch screen will react to anything... Having the pda in my pocketcase wil not block that possibility as the screenlocker does.

yes but that one sorts only by the wrong timestamps, namely the local timestamp from the originating country's timezone... i need some tweak to sort inbox items by my local timestamp of received time..

the one from ppcgeeks looks especially promising but its supposed to be only for the Sprint Touch, not the Touch Cruise. has anyone experimented with it?

I´m using my TC with the original ROM and enabled the GPS-Photo-Function with the "P9 enabled" setting, but i have no entry in the menu nor does it show the GPS led.

I have the previous version of TOM TOM which installs on my SD Card, giving me the choice for a file root.

This version does not give the choice and installs straight into the mains.
When it does, it starts with the first screen and does not recognize the root to the Maps which are in the SD Card.

Can you please help me create a link in the "My Documents" TomTom empty file?

Thanks mate, I haven't installed it yet but I'll give it a try.

Only thing I'm worried about though is that the LG KS20 plugin is creating another line of icons at the bottom of the today screen, which is annoying as there would be little to no space left to display calendar events etc...

change the dword value to whatever suits your needs.

here are the following dword value and corresponding results:
0 - show icon
1 - show icon and play notification sound
2 - show icon and vibration

Extract my zip file and copy the LSPvalue.reg to your device (My documents per example or SD card)... then search for this LSPvalue.reg and double-click to write this key on your registry. Then soft-reset :)

I have tried to follow the above instructions but I'm lost as I'm not sure what I am supposed to do. Does double-clicking the LSPvalue.reg does the job or do I have to insert the key?

If I have to insert the key, how do I do it? I'm new to PPC so not sure what to add, string? dword? binary?

I've tried SKTools but all I've got under notifications queue is the item repllog.exe in which when I click on it there isn't anything for me to disable.

Would appreciate if someone could show me how to add registry entries.

I recently heard about the new HTC Diamond phone
i wanted to hear from people here what do they think about it in comparison to the Touch-Cruise, and also can the touch cruise be installed with the same Touch-flo 3D interface the Diamond comes with? (after all as i understand it, it is all a matter of different program while the hardware is mostly the same - i know that the diamond has a better cpu and dimensions but still...)
