Hello, try this:

HKCU\Control Panel\Notifications\Default\Options

change the dword value to whatever suits your needs.

here are the following dword value and corresponding results:
0 - show icon
1 - show icon and play notification sound
2 - show icon and vibration
3 - show icon and vibration and play notification sound
4 - same as 0
5 - same as 1
6 - same as 3
7 - same as 3
8 - show icon and notification bubble
9 - show icon and play notification sound and show notification bubble
10 - show icon and notification bubble and vibration
11 - show icon and play notification sound and show notification bubble and vibration

With this you won't even see an icon for SMS Sent notification :)

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settin gs]
"SMSNoSentMsg"= dword:00000001

I totally disabled SMS Sent notification with the above tweak.

I enabled SMS Delivery Notification which will be more meaningful to have. :)

I recently heard about the new HTC Diamond phone
i wanted to hear from people here what do they think about it in comparison to the Touch-Cruise, and also can the touch cruise be installed with the same Touch-flo 3D interface the Diamond comes with? (after all as i understand it, it is all a matter of different program while the hardware is mostly the same - i know that the diamond has a better cpu and dimensions but still...)

Before installing it, I would like to know whether the cab file found on page 1 of this thread is uninstallable, and whether the version works well. there is, its called SMSDRFix. it does exactly what you want. its very handy, even if someone sends u an sms with a number already in your phonebook, it will display the contact name too.. there are some preferences you can set, like what u like to have displayed etc.. anyway give it a try..
i dont have it at hand right now but im sure if u use de search function you will find it somewhere :)

You need to edit your registry to get our music tab back,

HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCHome

Add new string,

Tabsetting = 1,2,3,4,5,6

You can change the order of the numbers to sort the tabs how you like

1 = Clock tab
2 = Favorite People tab
3 = Weather tab
4 = Launcher tab
5 = Music tab
6 = Profiles tab

refresh the htc home to get the tabs u can do it by unchecking the today contects and then checking it and it will refresh and
people who missed the favorites home tab delete this registry key :

HKLM\Software\OEM\MASD\Quickdial

delete it an drefresh thats alll and u will get all the 6 tabs !!

I guess this is probably a generic issue with windows mobile devices but I thought I'd ask here.

I'd like to get rid of the missed call notification/soft key message on my WM6 polaris. The missed call icon at the top of the screen is enough for me, the message just gets in the way and I constantly need to hit 'dismiss'! has anyone any ideas? It's not the end of the world - it would just be a bit more tidy if that makes sense :)

To contribute to the tips, I went searching for a resolution to the backlight issue where it switches off during a call - particulary annoying if you are trying to navigate voicemails. Another member posted a reg edit solution, it may aswell be posted in this thread:

To resolve the polaris backlight turning off during a call:
1- PHM Regedit (or any registry editor)
2- HKEY_CURRENT_USER
[____ CONTROL PANEL
[___ BACKLIGHT
[_____LOCKLEVEL
3- Change de value 0 for 100
4- Soft Reset

Found this tweak over in another thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=388340) to enable big icons and
close button in the Task Manager (thanks luigi.ing and MooCan)

Registry tweak (seems also to work with older Task Managers)
HKCU\Software\HTC\Taskmanager ->
DWORD "EnableLargeIcon"
VALUE: 1

But I noticed, that the Task Manager seems to reset the Large Icon setting
again to "0" if you enter the the Task Managers Options menu :confused::confused:

However, if you do the registry tweak and avoid to enter the options menu
afterwards it seems to stay large.

I poked around in this thread and didn't find it so here it is. This is a repeat of info from other locations on the xda-forums but I haven't found anything talking about it specifically for the Polaris / Touch Cruise.

Kaisertweek allows you to turn on this thing called the Wireless plug in for the today screen on your Kaiser (AT&T Tilt). This shows you base level status of Cell Network, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth state on your phone. I like it. I was disappointed that it wasn't there on my new Touch Cruise. Well it is there, you just have to enable it.

This plug in is present and does work on the Polaris / Touch Cruise. It does not appear on the Today screen configuration page because the registry entries for it are not present. All you have to do is add them with a registry editor (like PHM Regedit) and this plug in will appear. The NETUI.DLL component was present on my Cruise (see below for version info) which is an unlocked direct from HTC device I obtained here in the US.

All you have to do is add this to the registry on the Cruise:

I found this solution to be the best since the 'new' name sticks and doesn't change back to the standard operator name i.e vodafone.

With a registry editor:
1. Go to > HKLM\Software\Microsoft\RIL\OperatorNames
2. New String> Name:Operator Code, value: anything you like.

eg: for vodafone UK
Name: 23415
Value: pimping

Another good thing is that you could create a number of strings for other countries operators also.

Guys, I've tried everything submitted on these boards with regards to getting the backlight to stay on during calls - nothing has resulted in a permanent solution.

I constantly have voice mails to sift through so it’s been a real pain for me – today though I discovered that if you press the power button, the screen comes back to life. It sounds pretty obvious now but it’s taken me long enough to notice!

I’d still prefer it to be on constantly though,

Have you tried increasing the battery backlight timeout? I've also tried all of the tweaks without success. When power AC the light doesn't dim, I believe this is over ridden by the AC Backlight timeout.

I can not flash one of the new Diamond Roms or any for that matter. I don't know if they are done differently.

It also says error 240!!! Updater can not open file for every Rom now.

I often get the complaint that people cannot hear me. No; its not that i speak not loud or clear enough.
Does anybody knows how to tweak the microphone level? Somebody suggested to enable the Microphone AGC (under settings) without any succes.
I cannot find the audiogain in the registry as mentioned by Mahmoud.

Can use all suggestions!

Btw; I do not have this problem when using my external headset/mic

This mybe be dumb questions but i am really lost here

There are several New "Black" / "Cooked" ROM versions for Polaris with
WM6.1

and there are also some versions using the Diamond new ROM

I wanted to ask
a) what are the differences between the ROM versions?
there are several of BEPE several of PDAMobiz and several of udk how do i know what is the difference between them and which is the final / best of each one of them?
I tried reading in the threads but could not understand very well ...

b) can some one PLEASE give a guide for "dummies" on how do I replace the ROM on my Polaris with one of the above ROMs (do each of them needs a different way?)

c) How can I backup my current Polaris ROM version before trying to upgrade?

d) where can i find an original Polaris ROM version?

I received the same invite.

Browser seems pretty good.
Highlight is that it plays Youtube videos embedded right in the browser as it does on a desktop. You can also get the Myspace music player in-browser (1st I've seen).

Still prefer Opera for the overall experience, but enjoy SkyFire for the reasons mentioned above.

i will post the registry keys tonight !! i hoop that i don't forget to post it anyway these registry settings will make it happen but they are also available using schaps advanced configuration there u can change the settings bitrate and others see the attachements this software contains also other configurations to change other registry key values to tweak your polaris !!

ill take this chance to promote one of my very favorite apps again: try TouchPal from Cootek.. even the free version is awesome already...u can enjoy de free version forever if you are broke, but the pro version is wellllllll worth the few bucks...

you can disable the click on your phone and enable it in the touchpal settings so it will only click when you use the keyboard..

other than that it has a lot of other solutions to keyboard probs i always used to have... just have a look at it and youll see what i mean.

Increasing makes stylus more likely to act as scroll.

No value makes eg phatpad/notes drawing work properly. Probably should look at decreasing this value.

I have been using dciNoBar successfully in conjunction with Ultimate Launch with Bepe 0.67 ROM. This little program removes the soft keys from the bottom of the screen on the Today screen.

However with the udK Diamond R2 ROM the program does not work. Has anyone had the same problem or is there another way or removing the soft keys?

About the soft keyboard I try The Resco Keyboard and it's nice. Have a ~full keyboard only letters and easy switch to number or signs. It's easy to type if you english dict. but you speak another language and can't use predictive stuff.

I recently saw a screenshot (somewhere around here) with "Cube" shown as the left Softkey (instead of the default "Calendar"). Does anyone know how I can program that Softkey to enable the cube? (It would be much easier than using the dreaded finger swipe).

I'm guessing it will mean a tweak to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112 but I'm not smart (or brave) enough to experiment.

Diamond is way better than the TC in my opinion. And I also think that touch flo 3d is a hardware function, so the cruise wont allow that. And possibly there are no missing drivers in the diamond. Please anyone correct me if i am wrong. I dont know much about this.

Regarding Hard-SPL i saw on Kaiser fourm an article regarding restoring the original SPL, it says the for WM6.1 there are some problems if staying with the hard-SPL - is that really true? also does what is described there applies also for Polaris or for Poaris a different method and applications has to used?

Hi all, I have learned a great deal of things on WM phones in this forum. You guys are really awesome and insightful.

Currently I have disabled HTC home plugin and the useless cube. Now im running SPB Mobile shell V2. Its awesome and faster!.

But the the problem i have is that the "x" button at the top right hand corner will occasionally disappear from my Today Screen. Even though its enabled on, it just wont come back unless i do a soft reset. Any advise to overcome this bug? :(

I think it's an issue of your ROM : I had the same problem but, since the HTC Support changes my ROM, the problem disappear.
Then I don't know how to fix this (without changing your ROM).

I also had this problem with my previous ROM Radio and a simple BT headset SonyEricsson HBH-PV705 : I needed to speak very close to the Cruise's mic in my car for voice-dialing, even with the headset well connected. Since I had a new ROM Radio, it works perfectly and I no longer need to bring the Cruise in hand (more safety... also more "logic" !).

Hello All! I performed the registry hack for the 6 tabbed HTC home on my XDA Orbit2 - works fine. But lately I have had a strange probelm.

When I add contacts to the quick-dial list - that works. But before, when I touch on that contact, it would dial the number I assigned to is immediately.
Now that doesn't happen. When I choose a quick-dial contact - nothing happens. If I hold down on the contact for a long time then the contact page pops up showing me a list of numbers associated to that contact (which I can choose from). Sometimes the added contacts simply disappear from the quick-dial screen.

How do I get the original functionality back that when I touch the contact, it dials it??

seriously, if you're asking for help, try to put some more effort in explaining your problem. I understand english is not your first language but give it a shot, it won't hurt.

for getting a faster GPS fix, quick GPS has been known to help. some say it doesn't. do a search and see what people have to say about GPS fixes.

what's the activesync problem that you're having anyway? and what does it have to do with youtube and msn? none of this is clear.

as for changing the keypad, yeah it's a known issue and is annoying as hell. Here's one potential fix I've found for it:

I've noticed that all my wma files are not well sorted in HTC album player:
In each album, the tracks are sorted using alphabetical oder instead of track number order...

I didn't found why : my wma tags are correct...
I've also noticed that if i convert those files to mp3, then they are well sorted! (i have no pb with mp3 files)

I have so many albums using wma instead of mp3, i don't want to spend a week-end converting thousands of files...

Does anyone have this pb too? how to get rid of that?

Answer:
It's that simple: Set a shortcut to \Windows\folderview.exe
and you have the system open the Programs folder without the lag.
You can assign this also to a softkey or to FTouchflo gesture or
whatever you want.

I would like to have the green (talk) and red (end call) icons and increase the size of the dialed numbers.

trying to figure out how to have the home screen show my XpressMail calendar as opposed to the WM calendar. I'm sure it can be done I just dont know how. I've been serarching and reading pages on this thread FOREVER nad I just cant find anything.

if u want to change the defaukt image location for HTC album then u have to change the values of this registry key :

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations

u can see image, audio and video change them to where u want the htc album to open files !!

The easiest way is to use schaps advanced configuration tool 2.1 in there u can change all file locations from camera, chane DCIM to Storage Card/My documents/ My pictures

and in locations change the location of images , audio, video to storage card/ my documents

If I have to advise on one only little prog, I would tell you to try DKToday. Google it and you'll find it on our site.
It is a super little program, plug-in in TODAY which you can set up to :
Monitor your call timing.
Show you your missed last two calls,
Show you the number of SMS recently sent
allow you to dial the missed call, AND LAST but NOT LEAST,
Show you your % connected level, and let you SWITCH OFF your device by pressing next to the connection level. SUPER, try it.

I see quite a few folks have posted this query and never got the complete answer to it..

This is about the Sound: Automatic in the profile settings (last one in the HTC Home tabs).
The purpose of this automatic profile is to switch the phone sound to vibrate whenever your status is Busy on your calendar...
Now, whats happening here is even if I have an event that doest represent busy status in my calendar, the automatic profile switches to vibrate,, this happens for all day events like holidays / birthdays and all - this means, your device is in vibrate mode for the entire day!!!

I remember I used to use SPB Phone Suite earlier on my Atom and it was working as expected..
If others also experiancing this issue, please report/research
I somewhere read about clearing some notifications off to fix this issue but have not found much details yet..
Lets see if somone has a trick to get this working as expected..

I am having some audio related problems with my xda orbit 2.
First music/TomTom is not loud enough. Music is not much of an issue as it is only to quiet in the Underground or on motorbike. Now TomTom is a problem as I use it on my motorbike and some times I can not hear the directions. It was ok with XDA orbit using the same TomTom software (the same version). Second problem with TomTom is that sometimes I have no sound at all. It is enabled; I can hear clicks (test sounds) but not the directions when actually in use. They go on after some time or not at all. Any one had that problem? Some times I run music and TomTom at the same time and when I have no sound in GPS software I still can hear music.
Last problem is that sound gets quitter (not always just 1 in 5 times) the faster I ride. That is only with TomTom on even when I have that option disabled. It gets all sounds music/phone or any other. It should get louder when I go faster not down. It should also not affect the rest of sounds!!!! Never was that a problem with old orbit. I was running windows mobile 6.0 on old orbit and now I am running 6.1 on new device. I was running 6.0 on orbit 2 as well but problems where there as mentioned.
For no sound soft-reset helps most of the time. Maximum had to reset it 3 times before getting sound back. For sound level going up and down depending on speed simple soft restart helps. Funny is if I do not soft-reset then sounds does that even with TomTom off. Only if I go to flight mode it stops but comes back right after going back from flight mode.
Last week flight to Dublin with only phone off (no flight mode) and music when almost to 20% after take off.

After much trial & error, I present my contribution to this forum. I've found how to, at least seemingly, set the default browser to Opera 9.5. Note that I run bepe Standard Rom 0.67, which is WM6.1, and Opera 9.5 build 1126. It's just a registry setting you can change with any registry editor. I use Resco Explorer, but you can get a free one callwed phm, I believe. Heres the key:

HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Shell/Rai/:MSPIE

Change the value of key 1 from iexplore.exe to OperaL.exe

I triec a few different ways to cause Opera to be called when a link in an email message is tapped, and this is the one that works for me. I've not tried it in other areas, if there are any..

Edit: clicking a url from an incomming sms notification pulled up the old IE instead of Opera, so I searched for all occurrences of iexplore.exe in the registry (using Resco Explorer) and changed all of them that were in OPEN or COMMAND keys to OperaL.exe and so far, so good...

I am afraid that if i will ship it aboard i will have problems in getting it back (customs problems for example ).

I have so many albums using wma instead of mp3, i don't want to spend a week-end converting thousands of files...

Hi, I recently got a polaris and I'm loving (most of) it.
One thing I realy hate, is the way the fps goes way down with video's in low light conditions. I searched trough the registry myself and found some values to increase the fps of video's a bit, but the moment the light conditions change, it get's crappy again.
Is there some way to fix the light condition so it doesn't adjust while making a video?
I love going to parties and I'd like to make some video's. There is enough light there to make a video, but because of the strobing of the lights, the camera thinks there isn't any light and goes to crapy fps mode trying to...I don't even know why it does it, longer shutter timing maybe or something. So I want to find a way to fix the fps, light mode and shutter timing. If that is possible.
Or I would be hapy with any other info you guys can give me on this matter to improve the camera.

On my polaris I changed all values leading to 1024000, I soft reset but does not work. The limit has remained 300K :(. Someone knows how to increase this limit?

Just delete dciNoBar.exe and soft-reset.

I think it would be best to make this thread moderated, meaning anybody having suggestions can PM a mod and he will add them to the thread - as long as they aren't there already.

Otherwise you will always be told to read the stickies, which most of the time contain more than 50% rubbish...

In the 'Polaris upgrading etc' forum as normal!!!and not all in one thread which is an unusual way of doing things in a forum. It's much more straight forward starting new threads for new topics like they do in the other forums rather than banging everything in the same thread. Other forums on here for different devices are much better, the Polaris section is suffering because of this confused monster thread.

There's issues I could probably help with that are only brought up in this thread and because I've given up on it, I'll never never be responding to them.

If you were writing up a report which had a load of different topics you wouldn't just type it up flowing from one topic straight in to the next, you'd split it up with different headings and sub sections so that the lay out was logical and it could be refered to and read properly.

We have a whole polaris section dedicated to modyfing, upgrading, tweaking etc and we are pileing the majority of topics in to this one thread! it's ilogical and frustrating! please someone see the light and sort this out for us all once and for all!!!

I´ve got a problem with TomTom. I use udKs Diamond R5 ROM and installed the TomTom CAB I found in this thread. At first it seemed to work, found my maps on SD-Card and the voices.

But it doesn´t recognize the Cruises built in GPS-receiver, it just displays options for bluetooth GPS receivers.

How can I fix that ? (maybe you add a note to the download link in the first page, too)

maybe the version of my HTCHome doesn't support the music tab :(

are active in the registry you can add or remove any of them it's in the thread somewhere how to do it, finding it however might be a problem!!!

thanks, I know all of that, I checked the procedure several times,

it would be nice for me to get the 6 tabs just by modifying the registry,
I usually try to avoid to install/unistall CABs or DLLs if possible,

the HTC is mainly a phone and I want to keep it stable,
it must work when I need it! :)

Hi,

I just installed the "t9_English.cab" from the "T9 Language input cabs". After a soft reset the touch keypad and the touch keyboard are only typing special characters. No letters anymore.

i.e. if I press the button "er1" on th keyboard I get the "1", when I press "qw!" I get "!". Same for the touch keypad. When I press the button "abc1" I get a "1".

I am using a O2 xda Orbit 2 with a German ROM.

btw: after removing the "t9_English.cab" the problem went away.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Any one knows of such software? I want to be able to connect to my laptop/home cinema using Orbit to control mouse & media player.
I was able to do that with Sony Ericsson W800. It had two options W800 as mouse or W800 as media player remote.
I have BlueSoleil BT software on my PC's which is more then capable of dong that so I just need to sort out my XDA.

This problem is solved!!! (and you have this problem only if you are on other then english localization)
Do this:
"HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\Image" there is a "SaveFolder_0409", change the last number from 0409 na 0405. Then softreset and you will be able to browse (in the touch cube) pictures you made and are stored on storage card

1. HTC random access manager :
to make it easy to scroll in contacts like that of iphone (alphabetical at the righet side of the screen) irst go to CONTACTS >>> menu >>> options >>> uncheck the show alphabetical index
and then do this tweak to also access t in dialer:

this tweak makes the random access possible to use also with the dialer. Some how after restarting the device the contacts random access will not be accessed so here is the solution copy Randomaccess.exe included as attachment in to the windows folder pof your device.

3. Start Menu sound problem solved :

when u click at start menu it does not give a sound here is the cab to install and problem will be solved soft reset after installing see the attachements below

4. LG KS20 Menu for HTC Polaris !
see the picture below its menu today plugin from LG KS20 its really nice when u use it with today screen and ht home. To install it u need three things :
1) Remove the bottom bar:
Place dciNoBar.exe in \windows\startup folder and run it. This will remove the bottom bar like in the pic.

2) Install Spacer2 Today Plugin this will make space for the LG menu to be placed at the bottom of the today bar.

3) Install LG_Today Buttons

4) Configue Spacer2 Plugin in \Settings\Today\Items, click on Spacer2 n click options. Adjust Spacer Hight accordingly.

5. SRS WOW HD
improve your music with 3D effects, cnter effects and focus level also truBass included. This is a nice software more effective then htc audio booster. This sofware enables u to tweak audio with headphones r internal audio without headphones. Htc audio booster was only for headphones so enjoy some quality audio for your polaris.
instructions: download the srsWOW HD cab below and install it and then restart your device and go to seetings >>> System and choose WO HD settings

6. Vibrate the phone when u touch a key or open or close a prograam

we have seen in most devices that has vibration when opening or closing a prograam now we can do that with polaris. This file is .exe just copy it to your device and run it thats all and if you don't want it just execute it !! nice peace of sofware.

we know that the Long pressing of RED call button brings us to HTC end key but there are other buttons that u can long press or short press to link it to a prograam u like like power button to use slide to unlock (S2U2).

Long_PTT.lnk (push to talk button+long press)
Long_End.lnk (the read key+long press)
Long_Send.lnk (the green key+long press)
Short_PTT.lnk (push to talk button)
Long_Power.lnk (Power button +long press)
Short_Power.lnk (Power button)

if u want to link any rograam u want to above buttons then just copy the .exe of that file and paste it as SHORTCUT and then rename it to above and after that put it to \Windows folder !!!! if u want S2U2 when u press power button then just go to file explorer and then to \Program Files\S2U2\s2u2.exe and copy and paste it as short cut and then rename it to Long_Power or Short_power and place it in \Windows folder. press power button and it will start s2u2 or press power for 2-3 seconds for long press and it will start s2u2. Its really easy if u cannot do it send the file name if i have it i can make them for u guys.

if u want to change the defaukt image location for HTC album then u have to change the values of this registry key :

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations

u can see image, audio and video change them to where u want the htc album to open files !!

The easiest way is to use schaps advanced configuration tool 2.1 in there u can change all file locations from camera, chane DCIM to Storage Card/My documents/ My pictures

and in locations change the location of images , audio, video to storage card/ my documents

see the picture !!

It's the first time I have such an advanced phone so I'm new into this tweaking stuff :D Still I want to learn. I have wm 6.0 pro CE OS 5.2.1623

Radio ver: 1.58.25.14

I have some questions, how do I improve my t. cruise? Will I gain a lot by installing a new ROM other then the one I have in my system already? Will it make give new functions to my phone, fix bugs, etc? Where do I find this ROM's and which one would be a good one to start with since I'm new to this?

Is Polaris Kitchen to create my own ROM or is it a ROM as well?
How do I install a ROM? what is CustomRUU? Can i backup my original ROM?

I have never done this so can some one explain step by step what I need to do? I think it is something like:
1) run Hard SPL, Put device in bootloader mode (is this an option I get when i run Hard SPL?)
2) Run Polaris_CustomRUU.exe (what is it for? Is is here I install the rom? How do I select the rom to install it?)

Hi I am looking for the registrey string that disables the large start menu
the reason is that in UDK's new Syrius R0 rom there is no way to disable that
function from the settings menu and this is driving me insane :eek: .
I've preformed a search in this Thread and found no tweak to remove this
option via registrey the only one I found was via the settings menu and
that is no help for me :( .
hopefully someone will be able to assist me here.

I hope somebody can help me. When I use Tomtom6 all is fine. But after I install Tomtom7 there is a strange thing that happen. (sorry for my english)
I start TT7 then, later when I close the application I see than activesync is running. It do not with TT6. I try Install Garmin XT and Igo8 with base map and it does the same : acticsync launch few time after I run the GPS application.

Is there an explication for this behaviour?

Thanks for the awesome job you are doing here.
I'm used to cross a border each day to go to work. Ones I'm in a building I loose my provider network to a local one (fine for me). But when I leave the building, even if the Network Selection is set on automatic, I have to press several times (3 times works fine) on the Find Network button in the network Settings to force the phone to look for an other network otherwise the local provider doesn't change.

I'd like to know if it could be possible to bind a command or a button to do the series of handling (open settings / phone / Network / Find Network till Searching appears).

I have done the Home modification to display the 6 tabs, all is Ok, thanks to Mahmood's help.
But i want to declare another player instead of the default audio manager, and i have 2 questions :

=> which application (audio player) could be the best choice ?
=> how to replace the default audio manager by the new one in the 5 tab in the home ?

Everytime I hardreset my Polaris the damn application starts counting up from IMG0001.JPG again... HTF can I manually set that to the latest picture taken?

Edit: Was a tricky one but I solved it myself. Under [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Camera\5.04\Prefere nces] you'll find an entry VALUES. Change bit 0068 to the desired value in hex. Example: Mine was 06 and resulted in IMG0006.JPG, I now changed to 74 which equals 116 in hex, my next pic will be named IMG0116.JPG
Got it?

but i still dont have idea where bit 0068 is.

How do you guys use history calls? In previous phones I really used to looking there and pick the number, but in polaris its little complicated...

You can change the order of the numbers to sort the tabs how you like

1 = Clock tab
2 = Favorite People tab
3 = Weather tab
4 = Launcher tab
5 = Music tab
6 = Profiles tab

refresh the htc home to get the tabs u can do it by unchecking the today contects and then checking it and it will refresh and
people who missed the favorites home tab delete this registry key :

ok so i tried getting rid of the sms notification, and tired your suggested dword value data, which originally was "13" and I have tried 1-11 in your suggestions. As it worked for the most part, it has now completely disabled all sound on the phone. I have switched the value data back to 13 and still no luck. ..... Any suggestions on how to get my sound back!? Or can i change the HOLD button's position on the keypad?

Hi I use "S2U2" for this in the settings is an option to "blank" the screen while in a call. That works for me.

Simply disable the rings on the phone, it will still rings in your headphones.

To keep Active Sync from popping up at different times for no apparent reason:
You will need to go into the registry.
1.Download any program TASK Manager/Resco Explorer/Memaid etc.
2.Find the NOTIFICATIONS menu (or Notified Programs).
3.Find <repllog.exe> it will have several types listed. Find the one that says<AppRunAfterTimeChange>
4.Highlight this prompt.
5.You will need to Disable this. The only time Activesync should start now is when you sync to your PC.

Does any one know how to configure mp3 file type with WM Player of the device???
I was using Resco explorer when I changed mp3 to open with Audio Manager, the mp3 files icon gone and can't play them with Windows Media Player no more by clicking.

13. How to change the Long press keys and short press keys to any prograam u want:[/b]

we know that the Long pressing of RED call button brings us to HTC end key but there are other buttons that u can long press or short press to link it to a prograam u like like power button to use slide to unlock (S2U2).

Long_PTT.lnk (push to talk button+long press)
Long_End.lnk (the read key+long press)
Long_Send.lnk (the green key+long press)
Short_PTT.lnk (push to talk button)
Long_Power.lnk (Power button +long press)
Short_Power.lnk (Power button)

if u want to link any rograam u want to above buttons then just copy the .exe of that file and paste it as SHORTCUT and then rename it to above and after that put it to \Windows folder !!!! if u want S2U2 when u press power button then just go to file explorer and then to \Program Files\S2U2\s2u2.exe and copy and paste it as short cut and then rename it to Long_Power or Short_power and place it in \Windows folder. press power button and it will start s2u2 or press power for 2-3 seconds for long press and it will start s2u2. Its really easy if u cannot do it send the file name if i have it i can make them for u guys.

Edit: I solved installing the cab of the number 20 in the first page and linking it to the internet key. I was preferring linking it to the green key ... I tried but I was really not able :(

Thanks cr1960, it's almost that, but my active doesn't pop up at any time: I just want it to stop service (to close automatically) as soon as the synchronisation gets off (unplug USB or disconnect Bluetooth sync).

I am asking for a way to add more than one recipient in a time when sending SMS or EMAIL to more that one recipient.

I have to press the "TO" each time and only select one recipient. it is very bad when sending SMS ot Email to 10 or 15 contact at a time.
I use this a lot to send to my colleuges at work daily.

Up at the top, on the Todays screen the word 'Start' appears to the right of the Start Menu. When a program is running, 'Start' is replaced by the name of the running program. There's a way to get rid of 'Start' and just show the icon, which also gets rid of that program name that shows when a program is running. I'd rather the bar just shows icons, don't need to know the name of the program I'm in.

WisBar Advance has an option to turn this off, but I'm not currently using it and was hoping to find the registry entry that turns it off. Anyone know?

After a hard days work, ill refrain from being rude:D this was asked and answered erm two or three pages ago. try S2U2:rolleyes:

Or of coarse try advanced config (again search for it) this can also do the same thing and turn off the screen at a defined number of sconds after the call is answered.

The only time this is a pain is when you want to look for a contact number mid call or you are phoning ur voicemail.

the other two choices would be to get smaller ears or stop trying to ram the phone down said ears. Good Luck!!
