I got it installed, but it doesn't do anything. I initially had the 'no HD driver' error, which corrected itself upon a soft reset. Now I can change settings for it, but they have no noticeable effect, as far as I can hear. I have only tried it with HTC AudioManager. For some reason, after the installation of this utility, Windows Media player gives me problems when trying to load from my library, preventing me from playing anything.

Any thoughts?

I know i could install on my kaiser and try but i saw the words hard reset on some devices and ive just the minute finished reinstalling and customising my device after a hard reset and dont fancy going through it all again.

That doesn't sound like a good trade off. Loss of volume n bass in exchange for clarity. I would have assumed this to be a clearcut improvement in all areas.

from what I can tell, no. That was my problem. I was able to notice a difference coming out of the system speaker, but when I used bluetooth headphones I noticed absolutely no change when changing settings.

In my case (P525) it switches to internal when I plug in or remove anything(USB cable, 2,5mm headset). Looks like it doesn't work fine. Not even a single reaction to my BT headset, just sounds better.

No go and its definitly not my headphones.With this driver it processes my audio at lower volume.with the hd driver loaded and srs hd disabled it doesnt sound the same as if i had my regular audio driver loaded as it should so through trial and error its the driver.Ive even messed with bass setting in registry and no effect.Ive used headphones, desktop speakers, and thru the phones stereo speakers even messed with coreplayers equalizer and still dont get the sound I want.Through my way the audio sounds hi-def already, loud, sharp in sound,and nice bass at very hi volume level in coreplayer using my custom equalizer settings.Ive did research and found that srs making trusurround hd for mobile as well, any leaks of that?

Is it possible to have independent settings for Internal Speakers and Earphones, e.g. Jazz for Earphones and Normal for Speakers?

I can't get that to work... everytime I select an equalizer preset (eg Jazz), both Internal Speakers and Earphones settings will become Jazz.

All you have to do is use it in headphone mode at all times with everything maxed out... full clarity from external speaker and my head phones... only downside is that it will switch to the internal speaker on a soft reset (lower volume) or when you plug anything into the usb port. I hardly reset my phone, so it is worth it to switch it back on. If someone can figure out how to leave the configured settings after a reset or plugging in ANY usb device (including charger?) please let us know.

I tried installing this to my 4PDA WM6 iPAQ hx2755.

I did not notice any difference in the sound from the system speaker when the internal sound was enabled.
However, I observed the following:
1. I lost A2DP connection to my Motorola HT820 Stereo headphones.
2. Whenever I switch the mode while WMP is playing in the background, WMP crashes.
3. Uninstallation of the app restored A2DP to the HT820.
I don't know if the above reg hack by Alexx~ will help but since I rely on my A2DP on my daily commute, I can't verify if it will work as I've already uninstalled the app.
Any idea where it was ripped from?
Don't know of any WM6 device that has this app built into the ROM.
Official news by SRSLabs was backdated to Mar' 07.

I tried on Atom WM6:
- "internal speakers" mode gives better quality of sounds, but also significantly decreases volume.
- as mentioned by someone in this thread, "headphones" mode gives a bit better quality of sounds, but also boosts standard volume. with this mode, Atom sounds louder now :D

Looks like my problem starts when i copy the Dll registry entry from WaveDev to BtA2dpSnd, if I keep the original Dll entry in BtA2dpSnd I don't get the ugly sound, but I also loose SRS on bluetooth headphones...

Any other registry key I should check?

Observations:

1. The sound quality definitely improves if you configure the settings in the plugin properly. It does seem to use up quite some CPU cycles because my Touch becomes sluggish if the plugin is enabled.

2. However, if you disable the plugin, the sound quality does not go back to the 'default' (without plugin installed). The volume is lower than default and also the sound is more 'mono' than 'stereo'.

Actually, I ended up uninstalling SRS WOW HD on my Mogul because it seems that right after I installed the program, half my Windows Media streams (the .asf and the like) just stopped working. Even when I uninstalled the program and soft reset the phone, the problem is still there.

What can I do to make sure that the files I stream are working properly and has anyone else run into similar problems?

Installed great on my Motorola Q..it asked for a soft reset! Works good, a little less loud in WMP but a bit louder in TCPMP with headphones. Both players a little less loud through external speakers but wider better sound.

I´am using the MDA Compact III (its the same as the HTC P3300 or Artemis, branded by T-Mobile Germany) with WM 6 and I installed SRS WOW. It works fine with MP3-Files but it does not work together with the integrated FM-Radio.

Is there any posibility to "arrange" the registry to make SRS WOW working with the radio?

I redownloaded and installed SRS WOW HD on my Mogul to see if it'll work this time, and the new problem appears to be that now, whenever I soft reset my phone, the waitcursor loads up and will not go away even when all the programs and the like have loaded up on the screen.

I've tried restarting the phone 3 times and every single time, the same thing happens with that waitcursor just continuing onward. I'm gonna give the phone 10 mins now and if that waitcursor is still going on when I get back, then this gets uninstalled yet again. (BTW, I have a Sprint Mogul).

EDIT: I unistalled the program and what do you know? The waitcursor doesn't continue onward in perpetuality like before.

I`ve installed it on my fsc t830 and at the beginning i couldn`t connect with my moto S9 HD as a a2dp profile, the hands free profile was working good... i`ve read that there`s a registry entry called bta2dpsnd but i don`t have it...then i`ve read the registry entry at first post...and it`s the solution the srs called old driver as a wavedrv.dll but it should be called as a btcedrivers.dll from now it`s working perfect

How do you add the SRS enhancer to the iPAQ 110? I tried messing around with the registry, because the installer and reg key didn't work. I uploaded a copy of the driver area (HKLM>Drivers>BuiltIn) of the registry where this is concerned. The key directories that the iPAQ 110 has audio related drivers (corresponding drivers in parenthesis) are:
AudioPath (audiopaht.dll)
WAPIMAN (waveapi.dll)
WaveDev (btcedrivers.dll).
Hope someone can figure it out. Your guys' help will be greatly appreciated.

Oh, duh! I had to copy iClass, old dll to old driver, and order keys to over the new registry keys. And boy does this do magic to sound.

I have always used Handbrake to encode surround sound movies into Dolby Pro Logic on PDA (I hoped CoreCodec would have a surround plugin someday). Now, SRS Mobile HD decodes all my movies in Dolby Pro Logic into virtual surround. The quality and virtual speaker position is accurate, better than X-Fi in my opinion, and I own one. No silly iPod can do this! Dynamics are better with this sound enhancer, too. This is like an X-Fi for Pocket PC.

it worked on o2 zinc wm6 after registry change. it decreased my speaker and headfone volume with the srs in off mode.and when i put it to on the volume increases but not much difference compared to before installing srs. the only gud part was that a movie of mp4 format started playing louder. i uninstalled it because i listen to Mp3s more. anyone know anyway to make this progrm useful? also does anyone know how to increase my o2 zinc volume by reg edit or ...... its nt loud enough.

I installed the cab file and after reboot got the same error: driver not loaded. When i looked in the registry i noticed that the DLL value was not set:confused:

I made a cab files because in the old cab a few registry key where missing (BtA2dpSnd) and the dll wasn't set to self register. i corrected this for 1.21 and 1.28. Installed 1.21 on my trinity and is working fine. didn't try 1.28

I am not familiar with R2VS 3D tech. I understand that it is some 3d stereo sound tech that comes with samsung phones. I think these are similar apps and in that case i don't see any benefit installing the two on the same phone. but again, not familiar with R2VS 3D tech.

any way to extract and post the R2VS 3D tech (files and regkeys) so that we can compair? maybe the R2VS 3D tech doesn't have the low volume issue that SRS WOW HD has?

it worked on o2 zinc wm6 after registry change. it decreased my speaker and headfone volume with the srs in off mode.and when i put it to on the volume increases but not much difference compared to before installing srs. the only gud part was that a movie of mp4 format started playing louder. i uninstalled it because i listen to Mp3s more. anyone know anyway to make this progrm useful? also does anyone know how to increase my o2 zinc volume by reg edit or ...... its nt loud enough.

the point of SRS WOW is not to make it louder... it give more adjustment on the equaliser, so you get better quality audio.

just installed this over the top of the default srs wow included in the artemis touch 4.0 rom, and it fixed the no-effect-over-a2dp issue. sounds great, most impressed. thanks for putting the .cab together.

Seems to work fine on my Sprint Touch with the included wired headset. I'll have to see if my bluetooh mono headest still works but i noticed quite a few registry entries were added so I dont expect any problems.

I thought I was just going to have to settle for not having the bass line as I remembered it on some of my mp3s but this program brought them back nicely.

I'm not sure what some of these settings mean so any recommendations? I currently have it set at the following which seems fine but maybe it could be better?

The above procedure works on my Samsung i718 -thanks !! It doesn't work with A2DP headphones. So I also use the extra bass attachment. Just install the .cab file, and rename the program's link in the the Windows\StartMenu\Tool folder so it is spelled correctly. The sliders don't work so you have to set the bass and treble in the registry - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Advanc edCPL
I have extra bass of 14 and no extra treble for my ER6 earphones.

I'm having a similar problem with my JVC HA-W700BT's. I hadn't thought it might be the SRS CP that was to blame... interesting thing is my other cheapie BT headphones pair up fine. The JVC's I have to go into the CP every time, click and hold and tell it to set it as a stereo headset... then it works until the next use. I'll check if the SRS is the issue with my system.

It seems SRS WOW HD has a problem with WM 6.1. I have a X500+ and SRS WOW was working fine. No I installed a 6.1 ROM and I'm getting the same problem as nemo_777. Can anyone else confirm this?

Thanks so much for posting the SRS ! It works with the "old driver" entry changed to pxa27x_wavedev.dll in my Samsung i718/i710.

That worked through BT headset it is necessary to copy all parameters from [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\Wave Dev] in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\BtA2dpSnd
Except for value of parameter "OldDriver", he should be such, as was "DLL"
For example:
Before
"DLL" = "bta2dp.dll"

After
"DLL" = "WOWHD_ARM_WCE_PPC2005_Driver.dll"
"OldDriver" = "bta2dp.dll"

For the BT headset, the above mod also works but don't change the "index" and "order" entries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\BtA2dpSnd

The above procedure works on my Samsung i718 -thanks !! It doesn't work with A2DP headphones. So I also use the extra bass attachment. Just install the .cab file, and rename the program's link in the the Windows\StartMenu\Tool folder so it is spelled correctly. The sliders don't work so you have to set the bass and treble in the registry - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Advanc edCPL
I have extra bass of 14 and no extra treble for my ER6 earphones.

My thoughts if you care...
I loaded this on my 6800, it works great through headphones or through the external speaker. I use an FM transmitter in my car to play music from my phone, the SRS prog. definately cuts out some of the low end but replaces it with a more evenly balanced frequency spectrum. However when I use it with the FM transmitter in my car I believe the FM transmitter also cuts out alot of low end resulting in a really poor sound, so when I am in my car I just disable it, when I have my headphones on it works great. My next step is to hard wire an aux. audio jack into my stereo (which means buying a new car stereo) Other than that this program is really awesome on my Titan. I do wish it could push a little more bass though.

First make sure you have the right version for your phone. There is a smartphone and PPC version and it is not always easy to tell which one you have.

If you are listening through BT stereo headphones make sure you can the fixed .cab linked early in this thread. I would use if even if you don't have BT stereo headset as I know it works through both internal speakers and A2DP headsets.

Just installed this on my Axim x50v running WM6 A02 (I think it's A02, haven't updated in a while).

Before this, I have been looking for the perfect audio solution to make my sound good. I like clear deep bass and this provided it! I use GSPlayer with Bass on full, WOW with TruBass 100%/40Hz, and X50mix with the bass about halfway up. Sounds absolutely incredible, the low is loud and clear, the highs are crisp, and the voice and guitars in the midrange are clear and not messed by the other parts of the music. This app is amazing! I think it'll also benefit movies (I watch those on my PDA as well).

I am using ipaq 4150 with WM2003.
I have installed the CAB file. I downloaded the orher file (.reg), but I don`t know how to install it. I only installed the cab file. After that I don`t know where the program SRS HD is installed. There are not files from the program in Windows directory, not in Program files, on the Storage card...
The problem - if I turn up the volume after that it turns off automatically :( I can`t uninstall this program, because when I stert uninstalling it from Remove programs the ipaq (thinks) and does nothing. I waited it more than 3 hours - no result. HELP !

i tried installing the software on my phone (The T-Mobile Dash, AKA HTC excalibur) and it runs. but here's what goes wrong:
it doesn't detect my headphones and insists on "speakers" as my audio device.
then it conks out ALL audio on my phone. I can't even hear my ringtone! windows media player shows files playing, but i can't hear a thing! (installation automatically does a soft reset on my phone).

all the reviews i read say it works great on my phone model, but it doesn't work for me.
any suggestions. i'm not really a computer whiz.

Now, I followed the instructions. I noted what the old driver "DLL" was in my pre-installation registry.

I Installed SRS WOW
Soft Reset
Placed the "DLL" file name into the new reg key Old Dll
Soft Reset

Doesn't work. I get the "no WOW HD driver Loaded".

Any Ideas?

Edit 2: If you are getting no sound you need a different version. There are 3 different versions. I havent found a titan, kaiser, or hermes rom yet that i couldnt get one of the three working.

After flashing my TyTN II with a new WM6.1 ROM, reinstalling SRS WOW HD proved to be very hard, but in the end, I've succeeded.

My understanding of the necessary registry entries (in HKLM/Drivers/Builtin/Wavedev) is this:
"IClass": This is a class used for notification of device interface (dis)appearance. (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa931787.aspx)
I do not know whether the specific number is relevant and which applications make use of this class number. i.e.: What applications have this class number hardcoded or in a file on the ROM.
"Order": This is a number indicating at what point the driver should be loaded. If the driver is dependent on another driver being loaded first, the order number of the other driver should be lower. In other words: drivers with lower numbers get loaded first. For me, increasing the Order value from 1 (what it was) to 10 (which I picked randomly) made SRS WOW HD (1.20) produce sound.
"Prefix": This is the first part of the string that is used internally to represent the device for which the driver works. (f.i.: COM or WAV)
"Index": Is necessary if drivers have the same prefix. (Indexes then must be different yielding, f.i. COM1, COM2.
"OldDriver": The driver upon which SRS WOW HD does it's work. Must be the name of the previous wave driver in \Windows\ (which is generally wavedev.dll, but this may vary between devices)

I must say that only the 1.20 version did not give me the "no driver loaded" after soft-reset (regardless of correct registry settings).

Version 1.20 works great on my Sprint Mogul 6800 with no reg hacks or even soft resets. My Mogul is running official 3.35 6.0 WM ROM

1.21 works on my TyTN II also. Just one slight oddity, I have two WOW HD Settings icons in my System tab. One is the original settings dialog, the other is the new dialog with the extra items (SRS_WOWHD_ARM_Panel.cpl.zip install). Any ideas if the original can be removed somehow???

EDIT: The oddity was MY fault. I had saved a copy of the original file before I installed the new CPL. Deleting it got rid of the duplicate.

I decided to unistall SRS WOW, but after removing it I get no sound whatsoever. WMP won't play any of my MP3s and returns the following error when I try to play any track "Cannot play items in the playlist. For additional information, on the now playing screen, select an item, and then press Menu > Error Details" The Error Details says " Cannot paly file. The file is either corrupted or the player does not support the format you are trying to play". Reinstalling SRS WOW fixes these errors. I suspect that now removing SRS WOW either removes some native components or makes registry changes to my Blackjack II that breaks the sounds engine and WMP. Any suggestions for removing SRS WOW and restoring the full sound functionality of my BJII.

I'm sorry but what part of "i tried every single thing" U didn't understand...:) Well, thats the first think i've done but it simply doesn't work... After that i have to hard reset my ppc to get the sound back. I haven't tried the camera while having those problems so i don't know about that. To be honest i gave up on this one.

yes, would be nice to get the latest version as well, I also installed ver.121 on my Diamond phone yesterday & seems like ring volume is a bit louder than usual, which is good. I didn't do any registry changes though.

The Device connects only as regular headset and does not stream WMP.

Going to try that other cab 1.21 that was posted.

I added the a2dp dll regs myself.

I recommend using the "Steel" or "Vista" skin until you get used to it. Don't be dissuaded by the ugly purple theme it starts on.

Should I do the same for my Samsung SGH-i900 WM6.1. After I load SRS WOWHD i had the same error, and I did try the steps to install SRS than soft reset than run the Wavedev.reg zip file but still no sound. May be is bcos I don't know hoe to do Reg edit, can someone teach me step by step in the wavedev.dll reg edit part? thank you all.

I've read and searched this entire thread (and google). Still cannot get WOW to work with Mogul6800 with the Sprint 6.1 update. Have HHC Customizer and few other mods to phone, but get no sound using either 1.28 or 1.21 versions. Someone said there was a 1.20vs floating around that works on mogul, can anyone help or guide through this for me?? Would greatly appreciate anything..thx in advance.

Do you by any chance installed the newer control panel? If so, there is an input and output gain settings under TruBass tab.

Try setting them to the same volume and test...

I have a Sprint Touch with wm6.1 and srs wow v1.2.10 and it works fine. I'm using the gpstest rom. When I flashed to the leaked Sprint rom and official roms, srs wow didn't work so I went back to the gpstest rom.

After installing update from Sprint with 6.1, this one does not work. Someone please fine the solution. I am missing all those good sound.

It has something to do with the audio drivers conflicting... so if there is a way to disable the default, maybe that will fix it.

You don't have to hard reset, just uninstall and soft reset...

I think today I had the same problem. I reinstalled the srs wow hd cab file and did a soft reset. Afterwards it worked and still works :)

Just found this tiny little program. It improves sound a LOT!
I think "headphones" is just mono sound ... nothing for me. Taking off that "SRS 3D Effect" also improves sound very much and gives me back my beloved bass.

Put that on my "must install after hardreset" list.

I'm using it on my Vario with TNT.19213 Professional Wizard and on my Neo with S4V.19701.01 (UC) GER MyEdition v2.2.

Both are WM6.1 Roms and it works perfectly on both!

Maybe its not the ROM which is incompatible... maybe its the sound device built in your sprint?

could be...but it worked fine with all the winmo 6 roms, and then came the update, killing all sound!!

Yeah, sounds like it may be more of a device specific issue. If it worked before then perhaps Sprint did something with the sound drivers... or are your custom ROMs based on ROMs from other devices?

I have no problems with Srs Wow on my T-Mo Wing running 6.1.

Perhaps you could try installing the old drivers (from one of you previous 6.0 ROMs) over the newer ones? I'm not sure if it's possible, don't know how much changed with 6.1, but worth asking I guess.

Tried three times to install on my Trinity without success. Program installed but after reset I got the white screen of death and had to hard reset each time.
Not sure how some others got it to work on their Trinity device.

All audio programs will spit out a "Wave Device Not Found" error. Dangit.
