The attached SSPL and HardSPL are based on the Wings MFG SPL v0.91

- download the attached files
- REMOVE SIM and SD CARDS !!
- connect usb cable
- create a SPL backup by running spl-backup.bat from SPL-backup-kit (make sure you Wings is "application unlocked", run the attached SDA_ApplicationUnlock on PC)
- copy sspl-0.91-wings.exe to your device and run it
- after a few seconds "USB" appears on the display
- unplug and replug the usb cable
- if you only want to test the sspl try flashing the attached splash screen by running CustomRUU.exe from flash-splash-wings
- you can now flash the hardspl-0.91-wings.nbh by running CustomRUU.exe from flash-hardspl-wings
- after installing the uspl or hardspl you can flash any rom, cooked rom, radio or splash screen

Note:
The HardSPL is never overwritten which in case of flashing trouble is a great insurance. Should you want to flash another SPL or USPL you must run the SSPL.

Does not check NBH signatures
Based on 0.91 MFG bootloader, rtask, fat2sd, sd2fat enabled
Accept any password
Model ID check only 4 chars
SPL overwrite DISABLED (to bypass, use sspl-0.91-wings.exe)

An SSPL allows you to flash a HardSPL. After flashing HardSPL you'll be able to flash any Wings ROM to your device! This tool will then allow you to change the ROM language, flash cooked ROMs, custom splash screens, etc...

The SSPL is only the vehicle to flash a HardSPL. The HardSPL will replace your current SPL. Your current SPL will not allow you to flash any ROM, except official ones which match your ModelID and VendorID (aka CID) :D

Aye, I did it on my wings, and it worked perfectly (backup + splash screen) ;)
I was scared when I had to accept the flashing :o

I will now upload the HardSPL in the my post. Please flash it on your device in the same way as the splash screen. It will be the last time that you will have to run the SSPL, because after flashing HardSPL your device is SuperCID :)

Okay just to prove it is the HardSpl, can you go in bootloader mode and check if on display on top left corner it says "0.91-Hard".

It would also be good if you can flash another splash screen. Should now work fine w/o running SSPL :D

I have flashed the test splash succesfully but now (after restart) I have troubles launching programs (such as sspl - so I cant flash rardspl now, resco viewer...). Weird...

Well, sometimes a symptom after SPL change is that you have to do a hard reset. But sometimes it already helps to unplug and reinsert battery. Try that first.

I'm now dumping my FAT partition using the HardSPL command "fat2sd" (watch spelling!).
Of course you have to start up in bootloader mode (tri-color) for that and then connect with MTTY 1.42

You can call it with a parameter which can have the value 1,2,3 or 4

I think "fat2sd 3" is filemode, but since it is currently running and takes a long time I am not yet sure.

I analyzed the contents of the SD and it turns out a raw binary image is written on SD.
You must open the SD with for example the Winhex tool.
I think the data is the same as with "fat2sd 3", but now in raw mode.

Meanwhile I have studied the HardSPL again and I think I can trick it in dumping other partitions.

Pre-Production-ROM has GPS but is veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery unstable (and that's not even enough veeeeery)

Hi. The last version of GM is using two ways for location: first - GPS, second the cell Base Transceiver Station location (BTS).Sorry but your s730 probably using (if you bought it this year - 12/07-till now)) the second possibility = no GPS feature.

Then you have not followed all the steps.. deactivate activesync, start MTTY and follow the commands. Install the 3 drivers that windows ask for, and is attached to the post.. Check in device manager witch port the diag driver is on, and add that to the list in "QPST Configuration"

OMG. Its geting late here for me :)
Ayway, got it done. Unlocked, installed succesfully HardSPL and followed futher instructions. However, I have another issue here. I am strugling with point 5:

5. press return until you see Cmd> prompt and type: rtask c (if you never installed the diagnostics drivers before the installation of three drivers will be triggered (modem, diag com port diag and nmea com port)

when I enter that, MTTY comes back "synchronising" followed by "Enter image name" (or something)
No drivers install and obviously, NV Item manger can not read/write from phone. Also, there are no exclamation mark devices in device manager. I am trying this on very fresh WinXP SP2 install. What am I doing wrong?

Accidentally posted this under the 6.1 thread and not SSPL. Perhaps someone can help?

I'm trying to do the update but can't get past the SSPL. I've followed the instructions exactly as written on the instructions page. I ran the app unlock and then the Dos backup program. The subdirectory 1 is created but there isn't anything in it. If I continue, once I transfer the sspl-.91-wings, my phone shows the red, green, blue bars and indicates WING220 MFG SPL-0.91 Jump CPLD-7. Per the instructions, once USB appears, I unplug and replug the USB. Is something supposed to happen next? I have to take out the battery and reboot to do anything. Once rebooted, I run customRUU.exe and get Error {240}: File Open. Am I supposed to do something else that is not indicated in the original instructions? Any feedback is appreciated.

I read on a few forums that this can be solved by deselecting "allow usb connections" in activesync. Otherwise, b/c I'm a noob, I didn't realize you have to extract the ruu files and then execute. Perhaps it's the same? Just a thought.

still the same problem presist, i bieng stucked at the step flash the hardspl-0.91, i can see both the progress bar on my pc and smartphone but no change still percentage is 0%, and after a while i recieve a message error (262) stating that the rom update process encountered communication errors.

by the way i tried these steps on other machine , and different USB connections still the same error.

any other hints.

I have done like said in your instructions but at 20 % of rom update this come out INVALID ERROR.After recovery procedure an Invalid vender ID comes out.Error 294 Invalid Vender ID.This update cannot be used for your smartphone, please check your update utillity.After turning the mobile on it comes on with a three colour mode.Is there any suggestions that you have and that I might do?Thank you in advance.

So any fix to this? I have the Tmobile wing and was trying to flash the Just2Clean ROM and got same issue with "Error 270 : update error - the image file is currupted"

IPL shows as 4.10.0002
SP: as 4.10.0000

Any help is appreciated.

UPDATE*** I just took battery out of phone because it was staying at the RGB screen. Rebooted phone and the Just2Clean ROM was installed and running perfectly. NICE STORAGE!! I still have to mess around with it to see if any issues.

What program did you use to roll the splash screens. I have cooked ROMs for the wizard but what to use for this one. Splash screens only.

still the same problem presist, i bieng stucked at the step flash the hardspl-0.91, i can see both the progress bar on my pc and smartphone but no change still percentage is 0%, and after a while i recieve a message error (262) stating that the rom update process encountered communication errors.

by the way i tried these steps on other machine , and different USB connections still the same error.

any other hints.

I have managed to get an RUU that is not getting stopped by my AV. However when I run sspl-0.91-wings.exe on my device I get the tri-color for only a few seconds and loading... screen if I try to flash with the white screen with loading... I get error 260. Steps taken:
SDAUnlock
[Reboot]
Backup SPL
Run sspl-0.91-wings.exe
---> stuck! white loading... screen <---

I sort of remember that the TILT was having trouble with JumpSPL for the Kaiser [also white screen] and the devs put out another JumpSPL for the TILT. Maybe it is the same for my S730? Any chance a new Jump SPL will be created?

When I run the spl-backup.bat and I answer yes on the phone it says that it has written the a backup .nb file to a folder namned "1" in SPL-backup-kit folder. When I open the folder there is nothing there?

I just flashed my s730 to Alcalines 6.1 (which worked after rebooting and retrying some times). Everything seems to work fine so far.

Now my problems/questions:

1. I have a QWERTZ Keyboard (German Version). How can I change the existing QWERTY to my german QWERTZ?

2. How would it be possible to change the whole ROM to german?

I successfully did the SSPL on my s730, but the HardSPL wont go through. I tried the obvious, restarts, administartor account, etc, but it still won't work. Is there anything like the kaiser JumpSPL (kaiser was my last phone) to make this work? I'm really sick of wm6 and want 6.1 asap ;)

since I flashed my S730 to Alcalines WM6.1 I practically can't use it any more. Fully loaded battery is down after 8-12hours, 75% of the time there is no network, even if the antenna signal is on.

I already bought a used Nokia E51.

I'll never again buy a HTC and never again buy a Windows Mobile Device.

Hi I have exactly the same Problem. Im running active sync 4.5 on a win xp pro sp3 computer. I followed all steps till the thing with hardspl...
It freezes at 0% and then I get the error 262, so I have to reset my phone everytime.

phone details:
Rom Version: 1.34.407.3
Radio:25.62.30.03H_1.58.17.02
Win Mobile 6.0 Standard

What can I do? :(


EDIT: I´ve made it!! :)

After running the "sspl-0.91-wings.exe" on my phone, I clicked on the RUU and installed hardspl without any problems.
The ROM Update with win mob 6.1 was also sucessfull :)

Of course we all join a forum when we start looking for info.

I have a Softbank (JP Carrier) X03HT. I am stuck on part 1 cause the software says your phone is unlockable. Then I just see if it really is, cause next reply is Unlocked. So I try the backup and it just stays on the normal .bat for 2 hours....

Any ideas? Mainly tryin to have fun with my phone instead of locking it to the boring programs built in :-p

windows mobile 6.1. same problem here it does not turn back on unless i reset or remove battery does any one have a solution for this or is it my error!

Before use any step use clear storage in phone to clean all from phone then use SDA_ApplicationUnlock rebote phone then run sspl-0.91-wings after this remove usb cable from phone then again unplug usb cable do not wory if green icon on sync not more green just run ROMUpdateUtility and flash hardspl-0.91-wings.nbh .All work 100% in win xp with sp2 an sp3. tested very imortant use clear storage before use any step only if not work:) Sory for my bad english i hope that can help.

Ok so i've seen this time and time again in this thread. I'm experiencing this as well. is anyone that knows about this type of thing paying attention or is having this happen to them? this is frustrating that this one ? has been asked almost 20 times in this thread and I've yet to see one reply to those statements. if you don't know why that's an ok answer, but it's an answer and I would appriciate it very much. I know this isn't the end of the world or anything but reply's of anytype are great.

I have been trying to update to WM6.1 and am having terrible problems.

I have a HTC s730.

I have followed the steps indicated to the letter.


- REMOVE SIM and SD CARDS !!
Yep done this
- connect usb cable
and this
- create a SPL backup by running spl-backup.bat from SPL-backup-kit (make sure you Wings is "application unlocked", run the attached SDA_ApplicationUnlock on PC)
run the app unlocker and created a backup
- copy sspl-0.91-wings.exe to your device and run it
done this
- after a few seconds "USB" appears on the display
- unplug and replug the usb cable
This is where I run into a problem, I perform all the steps as outlined in this post, but when I get to this point the device just sits there with the RGB screen and does not progress any further.
I guess this may be a problem on my end having not done something somewhere although I cant find any other info as to what I might have missed, anyone got any suggestions
