Due the lack of time this project is no longer supported. The 1.6 beta is the last version for PocketPC and is VGA-compatible

Since a while I'm working on a TV Text viewer for my Wizard. Today I finally finished a version which I can show to you.
I developed it because I have an old tv without TV Text support (yes they still exist....ah well I got it for free) (edit: I've got a new tv now :P)

- Support for favorites
- Customizable homepage
- Customizable double tap action. (what to do if you tap twice on a page)
- Mouse gestures for navigating to the previous and next (sub)page.
- Support for multiple tv text sources.

It comes with a default set of favorites (my own :-))

I don't have the intentions to let people pay (or even donate) for it. I just like to develop it. I was already using it for a while. That's why it started with version 1.4.

I've rewritten the engine to make it more generic now. It supports Dutch (NOS) and Swedish (SVT) text and Italian (RAI) is on its way. Because of the 'new engine' it's much easier for me to add additional sources.

FYI, I think I found a bug using v1.4..

You'll be able to do this when I'm ready implementing a german tv text.
But I haven't found a german tv text site yet (with a text-only version)

FYI, I think I found a bug using v1.4..

Great application, Thanks! I'm using it with italian TV text(RAI) but I don't know how to navigate the sub pages. For exapmple if I'm on page 505 sub 1 when press the right key, I view the page 506/1 and not 505/2. Sorry for my poor english and thank You.

I'll take a look at it.

When it works you can navigate by:
- Move your stylus from top to bottom to go to the next subpage
- Move your stylus from bottom to top to go to the previous subpage

- Move your stylus from left to right to go to the next page
- Move your stylus from right to left to go to the previous page

Of course you can also use the contextmenu for this.

The buttons on your phone work the same.
Down: next subpage
Up: previous subpage
Right: next page
Left: previous page

The favorites issue is a strange one. I tested it carefully but it worked very well.

I'm sorry for you but the change color feature will not be implemented. This is because it would slow down the application (because the text has to be parsed one extra time) and it doesn't really make sense because the color is determined by the text source. :)

I'll fix the subpages issue for the Czech text asap.

PocketText is meant for PDA's.

I tried to port PocketText to a smartphone (WM6 Standard) but I didn't succeed because of some 'not supported .NET features'. Therefore I've decided not to port PocketText (yet)

This is a text-version which I can extract from the website. When it's a picture or a java application it's impossible.
Another example is the Italian text from RAI: http://www.televideo.rai.it/televideo/pub/solotesto.jsp

Most tv-stations provide a java- or pictureversion only. :(

No, not the website, but the tool nosttnet (http://www.ward.nu/computer/teletekst/) written in .NET has the same problem (not a 's', but the weird looking text). I think it's a compatibility issue with CF3.5. A lot of custom rom's made on this forum come with CF3.5 at the moment.

It's not a big problem for me as I use it to look up the soccer scores during the match in the stadium :D

Things have calmed down recently for this project but I like pocket text a lot so it's worth trying ;)

I have two different problems using italian teletext (aka Televideo).

The first one it that subpages don't work for me. See the first attachment which is from page 102, a page that always have subpages. Pocket text doesn't allow me to go through them.

The second problem is related to my device's screen size (240x240). See the second attachment and the text reported below: at least there are two lines missing. A scrollbar on the right would probably do the trick.

When you go to options; you can set the Text source. I've got 5 options:
- NOS (Dutch)
- SVT (Swedish)

When you go to options; you can set the Text source. I've got 5 options:
- NOS (Dutch)
- SVT (Swedish)
- RAI (Italiano)
- YLE (Finish)
- Ceské (Czech)

I just realized, seeing the picture I grab, that isn't gray, it seems, due to the thiny font :)

Ciao, AndreaThe textsources come with a simple kind of formatting. I tried to display all the pages with the formatting intact.

On my Diamond it looks pretty clear. Way better than on my previous (HTC Wizard). The font is just the systemfont, so I can't change it.

Hopefully it's clear enough :)

Great job !!!! :) :) :)A first quick look tells me that I can only add 'één'. The others are not in textual format which means that they use a different technique (Image or Java for example).

Please use the 1.6 'beta version', which is VGA compatible. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2792420&postcount=96)


Due the lack of time this tool is no longer supported. So now new textsources will be added. (Although not a lot broadcast companies provide a text-only version of their teletext.)

At the moment I'm only busy with VoipSMS. The functionality of VoipCall is also added to VoipSMS and VoipCall is also no longer supported.

PocketScreen doesn't require any updates. It works fine I think.
