iam new to the t-mobile wing i just got one and am nt sure about something correct me if am wrong and btw my phone is locked ok...
to flash this rom i need to download herlad uspl and i place the nbh format in the ruu folder and follow the steps in the prompt ? and that should do it it should install the rom even tho the phone is unlocked and if i bricked it i can just run a t-mobile rom and that will fix it ? thnk u all

Re-run the screen alignment and see if that maybe fixes the problem you're having.

Is anyone else with a wing having a problem with the keyboard? (I'm not using the ROM so I'm not testing it.) itje, did you relocate the module's memory space allocation when you added the wing keyboard driver? (Assuming you dropped it in as a module.) (G'reloc)

I ran the p4350 ROM all day today on my Wing... left the house around 9am, used my phone all day, calls and texting as usual and just got home (7:55pm) and I am at 72% battery life. Around 3pm, I set the batterystatus Omap to 273... so it seems battery life is quite good.

Xbutton fix that papamopps just posted works as well... wish I had this all day today! haha


Has anyone figured out how to fix the keyboard layout issue, without having to recook the keybddr.dll? I'm really liking this rom, but I'd love to fix the keyboard issue... which would obviously simplify things.

I have that problem too. On every rom. I tried diffrent cabs but without success. I think its a problem with some PDA's. Somebody in the Netherlands has it working so i don't think its a rom problem.

This Hard-SPL stuff gave me some hard riddles to solve, but I finaly managed to install this Rom and I am absolutly amazed.

The last Rom I had "Open Touch 2.2" was kidda slow responding and the Battery got drained real fast. (I know Its for Wing, but I had to try it).
EDIT: Open Touch is not for the P4350 I have. It presumably works fine on the Wing!

This one apears to be perfect! Fast, low battery usage and no bugs so far (except for the X-Button, but the CAB from pappamops did fix it; THANK YOU!). The only thing I noticed is that the today-screen appears to be cut off on the right side. I can't see the rightside of the soundbutton-frame. Even the '8' of the Date is cut off.

To contribute, here is my How-To, that decribes the way I successfuly installed this Rom. Keep in mind that you'll follow this instructions on your own risk. Please read completly before you start doing anything. If there is anything you don't understand in this Instructions or you don't think, that your at least a bit technicaly inclined, I strongly recommend you not to touch anything as your device can get seriously damaged anytime!

1. Backup all Contacts, SMS, EMails etc. Simply any data on your device, you don't want to lose!

2. Install original WM6- RUU from your Provider (or HTC)
Eventhou this step might not be nessesary in all cases, I prefere this as the safest way. Let it inititialize itself.

3. Get the HERALD-USPL-Beta3 from the third Post of the sticky Hard-SPL-Thread in "Herald-upgrading etc" forum. Extract the Contens of the archive and move the "Herald-USPL-beta3"-Folder to the root of your Boot-Device (e.g. C:\ )
(Forget about the first Hard-SPL-Post in this thread. I never managed to get this bastard to work)

4. Download TouchIT4.0 Black, extract the "RUU_signed.nbh" from the archive and move it into the RUU-Folder of the lately created Herald-USPL-beta3 Folder.

5. Find and install "Aserg Policies.CAB" on your device. Should be pretty easy to locate if you do a forum-search. Im not sure, if this is nessesary, but I did it for beeing on the safe side..

6. Make sure ActiveSync is running and connected in guestmode (green-lit cricle in tasktray) and your device is in Flight-Mode (all Radio turned off)

7. Run "herald-uspl.exe" from the Herald-USPL-beta3 folder and follow the instuctions.

I'm glad to see that the Touch-IT v4.0 rom is working out better for you then my rom did.

You can never go wrong with itje's stuff since he does a great job.

If possible in the future, kindly post your issues in the original post as well, to help provide feed back for me.

Did I notice I don't have a wing. I used your Rom on my P4350. I remember you stating, that your ROM is for Wing only, so I thought it would be useless type of information for you....

However if you are really interessted: by saying slow responding, I meant every interaction with the OS and Applications. It starts when I turn it on and I am asked to enter my PINcode. The reaction to my keypresses are a lot slower than it is with the original RUU.

I also had problems with your ROM when pressing the softkey that normaly would bring up the Communicationmanager. It only said that the Application that is associated with the key was missing...

Same for the battery drainage. With the original RUU my Battery lasts at least twice as long in standby mode.

But besides of that, its a very nice peace of work. Congrats to you. Its just itje's work works better for me....so please don't feel offended...

ED: sorry..the subject is a TYPO!!! Thats just too arkward *blush*

First off I'm not offended since you used another persons rom.

People have choices and different needs and wants.

I could careless which rom you use since it's your device.

But when you go and say something about some one's work you need to be more clear as to what happend.

Why did the rom work slow for you but then most of the people with a wing say that it works faster? Now thats strange...

Why would you go and use a rom not designed for your device?

Maybe that's why some of the stuff did not work correctly...

If you want a wing ROM with that look, I have one... it won't be based on his ROM, but it DOES work on the wing. At least until he fixes his ROM.

the cooked in calendar iscalled "calendar.exe"

BUT whenusing softkeychangerthe defaultname is "HTCcalendar.exe"

so go to

hkcu\software\microsoft\today\keys\112 or 113

andchangethe Open=htccalendar.exe --> calendar.exe

and then powercicle

That´s the soulution.

When installing the x-buttonfix the tfsetting icon is set to system folder. BUT you don´t need it!!!!!!

like papamopps said, the first one is because there is an app called enlarge startmenu, and you can easily disable it if you look around in your rom :)

One thing I dont understand is: Why ppl use lg menu and htc home together. Allthough it looks fancy and all, they both provide basicly same function.

But what I do like, is the menu/system/program w/e u wanna call it in LG.

If you are looking for a custom ROM for the Wing you might want to try Open Touch 2.x (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351966) by ttran001.
Touch-IT is Herald only unless you don't mind having problems with your keyboard you can take a Herald ROM, too

I have a minor issue with this rom;

i use smart dial from the dial alot and unfortunately it is very difficult to use in this rom as all the text is black. I can see the highlighted letters easily however the rest of the text is very difficult to read. Does anybody know the reg keys for the text colour of smart dial?

If someone can let me know the reg keys too change I can change the colour myself.

also i think i found a very minor bug, when in the programs menu if you open a folder or app once you close the folder the cursor highlights the first folder in the list. e.g. click start, programs, multimedia, click ok and now the highlighted folder is extra. shouldnt the highlighted folder still be multimedia?

one other thing i have noticed is you have removed most of the original alarm sounds, that is not a problem as i can just copy one back. just thought i would mention it in case you had not realised.

The highlight thing you mention, I cant find anything similar to what you say.
After copy the romsetting, you need to soft reset
Start up has never been faster on my device, so I need to know if more ppl experience this.
And that apply to all "bugfindings" I dont consider 1 report on a issue as a bug, I need more feedback to know if its a "true" bug, and not just a one time happening.

you will never find a perfect rom without "bugs" if you do tell me, and I can guarantee you I can find bugs and issues in it.

the tfsettings only appear after installing the "x-button FIX" - it is unseless. you don´t need it. the touchflo is working.....

it is becuase it´s a cubeless rom..... so you need this fix.

the scre WILL not come out..... that´s "suggested". it is not the full touchsetting. only part of it. and you DON´T need the screen.......


you can change the softkeys with sofkeychanger. BUT you have to put a shortcut from \windows\htcactionscreen TO \windows\startmenue\programs....

- is there a thread that explains how to install the "Organizer" soft key?
- can't install windows live messenger; i don't think my connection has a proxy ( what's this anyway?)

from Romsettings to ROMSettings

Excellent ROM!!! I noticed when i open the calculator the keys are non-responsive. I can click edit and the menu opens and i can also bring up the touch keyboard but both non-responsive. Anyone else have this issue or know of a fix? Thanks!

well, you are doing something wrong,cause I tested it, and new icon showed up.

but maybe UNZIP THE ICON??????? :D:D:D:D

if u did that, copy the ROMSettings to device in.ex sd card
and then you need to use total manager, to copy/overwrite into windows folder. Then soft-reset.

But maybe I dont understand what the problem you have is?

What I understood from you was that the old romsetting icon (light blue one) is not replaced by the new black one?

The Romsetting.exe is not an updated version, its just changed icon.

But I recommend try to do a hard reset. Its been proven that a hard-reset after a romupdate can help avoid "flashing bugs"

I think the known bug may be a cause of the Aserg's Touchflo.

Although it's a great program, I think it interferes with the task manager, or there could just be a flaw. Not sure, but this is my opinion. The reason I've assumed this is because I cooked Aserg's Touchflo into a ROM and the same thing happened to me. When I took it off, everything worked out perfectly.


BUT here's another thing. Ivanmmj's Beta Clean Rom also has Aserg's Touchflo and it works perfectly. No troubles when trying to touch the task manager. Wonder how he did it?

Anyways, just wanted to let you know how I felt about the bug even though there's already a fix to it!
