I am tired of looking at my old standby homescreen! There's got to be something better out there!! What are you guys running on your screens? The stock schemes? I've seen some really good ones out there with LCD plugin and various other stuff.
So chime in if you want to share any ideas, thoughts, suggestions, or whatever.

Yours look interesting, but you may find alternatives if use the search function by looking for TODAY or HTC HOME or POINTUI words...

I'm using Pearl. Aaroinara (sp? sorry), made a good portrait version. Available over at the SBSH forums. Requires Facade. Another nice one over there, Twilite.

With the exception of the weather stuff (which I don't use and probably won't, since I don't have a data plan), I think that homescreen is *awesome* What are you using? Me wants! :D

Oh thanks. Mine is a slightly modified version of "PAH Vista" screens found at MoDaCo. Go here (http://www.modaco.com/index.php?automodule=downloads&showfile=2409). I changed the order of certain items, increased font size, and removed some text. But the general layout and backgrounds are all the same. Check it out.

There are HTC HomeScreen, freestylWM, pointui.home, HTC Home Customizer, etc. But none works on Tornado! I am envious!
I fancy HTC Home Screen and will have it installed with the following exceptions:
1. able to replace the FavoritePeople and the Weather with my choiced application
2. able to add more taps to the home screen instead of only 3
3. installable to SD Card
SGregory did a good job with the HTC Home Screen
making it possible to be installed on Tornado. Some experts hopefully can pickup from there.
my thoughts.
Thanks

Sounds more weird to me. I tried numerous times; install, reinstall after reboot but still no luck. It failed to auto download the plugin. When I manually install plugin it crashed. I followed the instructions religiously at pocketemu.com. Karhoe, did you get the files from pocketemu and how you managed? I am keen on this.

Not flash mate. It hogs the memory. I've tried the freestylwm.com's homescreen and gave up on flash.
Anyone tried pointui.com's. I like it but need customization to suite non-touch screen.

This is my customized homescreen.
1. Carrier/Date/Time
2. V2R.ag's PhotoDialer
3. ElecontWeather
4. CBReminder Plugin
5. sms/email count
Not shown are Missed Call/Voice msg.
Quite basic but I want to be able to have a quick look at my appointments and number of unread messages. I am trying to put the Task there too but constrained with space.
In pointui.com's homescreen, I fancy the "ribbon" but only if it can be customized and integrated into the homescreen's xml.
Anyone interested I can post the xml file.
Thanks

why not using flash? if BenQ E72 can work just fine with it's ~17mb of RAM after start then why my Tornado with ~28mb would have problems to work with it?

Flash makes the device unbearably slow (IMHO). I have installed freestylwm.com's homescreen. But finally decided to uninstall. You also need to customize the layout to fit the screen since it was designed for PPC not smartphone.
I am now seriously looking at pointui.com's. Looks promising and needs customization too to get the right links. However, it was quite "smooth" on my Tornado WM6 and I like it very much.
You may want to try PointUI's.

i know pointUI, but it's not in my taste:)
this one i am talking about was special designed for BenQ E72 which is a simple WM6 smartphone, with 64mb RAM and 260mhz procesor, i think this homescreen should work just ok... will see.

Hey guys,
here is my homescreen. It is based off of Kristoff(I believe, but whom I did contact for permission) homescreen but I changed a lot of it to make it look more WMP11. Pretty much just requires the Facade plugin. Didn't post the missed call screen.

I have been trying to change the colour of the clock on the HTC homescreen. I have managed to locate the PNG files but when I open them in Photoshop, I can't change the colour. Any ideas?
I thought the original grey HTC screen would look really cool with green LED-type clock and text.

I have created a green segment set for the original grey HTC homescreen. Makes it look like an old LED clock. Basic but effective
Let me know what you think.

That looks similar to Cube SCLP
What plugins does it use and is there any functionality to the top one with the clock/carrier id?
Other than Nectun, this is the nicest collection I've seen so far:
http://www.djoubhaaskins.com
I've been checking out homescreens lately, and I find that I prefer to have the messaging plugin at the top. It's one of the biggest reasons to access the device after dialing. Next comes calendar/tasks. Keeping the most often accessed at the top seems functional.

Never seen 'Cube SCLP', so a link would be appreciated to see resemblence. It uses the Carrier/Clock/Date plugin, Missed Call Plugin, and SMS Count Plugin. I'm not sure what you mean by "is there any functionality to the top one with the clock/carrier id?" Care to rephrase it?

Well, I guess I was asking if it is just the regular carrier plugin.
The ROM I'm using has an option to allow me to set actions to when clicking on the date-time plugin. I was kind of hoping your (very sexy) home screen would add functionality to that space where the clock/carrier ID is.
It just looks too slick to do nothing except display the time. In fact, it's too much of a tease. If you don't plan on doing it yourself, you should partner up with an developer because you have the makings of a sweet interface there.
As for my other comment, I made a mistake. I was thinking of some of the iPhone style themes/apps I was looking at yesterday. SCLP is a C++ version of Cube that will work on some WM 2003 devices as well as most others.
