SRS WOW HD Audio Enhancement Plugin

I found the SRS WOW HD plugin from atom forum. The sound quality is amazing after installing this plugin . It even improves the inbuilt speaker sound. I thought all our Touch users can benefit from this. Restart the device after installing this plugin

WOW!!! I did not would work on a Touch ( elf ) but it does sound better .. and louder .. BUT .. the battery life drains faster .. it was one of bug bears of the touch was pants sound .. now it's fab thanks!!

Ofcourse it will cause the battery to drain faster if you listen to a lot of music etc since its using more processing power to give the SRS WOW effect..

These are the settings I've used for listening to some rather old music, I change the "Speaker Size" by 2 clicks to listen to more modern stuff ;)

Oh, don't forget to adjust the master volume on the PDA itself ;)

hey guys, what setting would you recommend for treble reduction BUT bass increase? I set it to the "treble reducer" profile and it really helped (default noise was making my ears hurt). What are your Center Focus, and Definition levels when customized?

I'm dont listen to allot of music, but as the system is working harder , software is working harder .. hence louder music.. I have noticed the battery draining .. a wee bit more...
Note: I also have PointUi.. so taht may be drawing some power .. I test it with the interface on and off.. and get back to you .

I'm not sure if you are cause I have no idea what you are saying.

Take the Cab file in the original post, do not UNZIP it, leave it alone. Copy the CAB file to your device. Use File Explorer, not IE and open this file on your ELF. Your Touch should take care of the install. You don't click on 'setup' you click on the CAB file itself.

You can disable it and it'll return back to its old loud self. Or change the settings to "head phones" not "internal speaker" it helps with the loudness.

Same problem for me. When i enable this plugin, my sound goes dramatically down. I disable it while playing the music, sound is back to normal. Playing with sliders hasnt helped either. Tried few things suggested in the thread but nothing seems to work. I am guessing there is some sort problem with few phones, maybe they were manufactured after this plugin was released i dont knw but i bought mine just last week.

Any suggestions?

This software is ideal for use when listening to songs . and why do we want the ringtone to be SRS WOW Audio processed. Its better to leave the settings to enhance the headphone rather then the internal speaker. The internal speaker is good for ringtones as it is.

I got it working but it kills the performance of videos so I guess it's a audio only app. Unless there is something I'm not doing right, besides Oc'ing it ofcourse.

heyy guyss...just as i was looking for a software to boost up my bass for htc touch diamond..ii found an rom update for htc touch diamond..i update my phone..and guess what..the bass booster software i just install on my phone is lost bcoz of the hard reset..but after the update of the new rom..the music player bass is more incredibly powerful..than the software i just install..and the internal speaker work much louder than the old rom..and the audio booster which were already inside the phone works much well with htc touch daimond and much more increase in peformance after the new update..just go to htc.com for updates and follow the on screen instruction

I faced the same error and took the same option to solve the problem on my Elfin.
I found a 1.21 "working" version (not stoping upon start) of the program on another forum but still no sound...
Back to where I came from (and that's great!)

Great!! Now it's work on my Touch (running on WM6.1, Onyx ultimate 4.0 ROM)

But, before I managed to make it work, I did/faced :

- few times installed & uninstall it...
- experienced no sound at all
- experience 'no driver' thingy
- tried 3 different CAB file
- did something to the registry

Steps that I used to make it working :

1. Installed SRS WOW HD 1.2.1, after installed, do not try to access it..otherwise, we cant overwrite the 'WOWHD_ARM_Panel'

2. Once installed, extract the 2nd attachment then I replace 'WOWHD_ARM_Panel' to windows directory

3. I juz visit to the 'Wavedev' in registry but did nothing to it..

4. Soft reset ..Done!

I have a problem (am I the only one ?)... When enabled my vibration (when receiveing an SMS) never stops... just continues to vibrate until I disable it in the sound notification settings... when WOW is disabled, the vibration runs back as it should... strange...

I tried the cab with the .cpl file, whenever I copy the .cpl file, it shows in my computer when my elfin is connected, but not showing in my mobile, how do I replace this .cpl into Windows folder..but without replacing the .cpl, I am able to open the WOW settings but I get only small small boxes instead the letters, I changed the slider but couldnt realise any inc in the sound..can we feel the diff only when connecting a earpiece??

Confirmed working on Elf and Kaiser.
removed the earlier version and installed the one provided by DSIXDA..able to open the SRS WOW settings..and able to view the letters..hv got my new Sony DS970 today..will check and revert back the combination. Thnx once again DSIXDA.

EDIT - awesome..works with the DS970 too..gr8 boost in the sound quality..will R&D the settings more.

After installation the sound was dead the speaker was not working nor was able to hear incomming calls....post uninstalltion sound was working did found the resolution posted earlier in one of the XDA forrums:confused:

yip I'd like to know too, I have a cab file which I was about to extract, although ther are now four files in the window , which one I don't know, may be a bit of trial and error if it don't work first time you always have the cab file to go back to and try again, somethings gotta give, I'm gonna do this right now, stay in touch

dont extract the .cab file. Copy the .cab to your phone and execute it. It wil install itself.
In Elfin, this lowers the in-call volume. But music works great.
