Hello, quick question:
If I have upgraded the radio rom 2.71.11, do I still apply the XDA Cingular Radio Fix2?
Btw, I'm using T-Mobile in the US, if that matters...

I'm not usually an early adopter for new roms, but I decided to throw this one on and give it a go. Glad I did. So far, I've seen a very marked improvement for both signal strength as well as the time to recover signal compared to both the 2.19 and 2.69 radio roms. I'm presently using it with the Cingular fix, so I can't comment on whether or not it's needed. Hopefully this continues to work well. The strength is fantastic. Using on Tmobile in nothern New England.

I have been using Radio 2.71.11 since it was posted and have had not one problem with it. I do get better reception. Battery drain is the same. When I first flashed radio 2.71.11 I added the radio fix cab and it showed no connection and searching, so I uninstalled the cab and all is fine?
just a thought, matbe you have to have IPL/SPL 226 or 308 for the radio to function properly

i have an mda vario t-mobile in the uk on pay monthly. since the 308 rom in december, the bluetooth has done weird things. i can now run my motorola stereo headphones on the rom software instead of using the zoki bt cab which fixed the skipping tracks on the previous rom, but now my vario won't talk to my tomtom. an error message saying that it can't find the 'voice gateway' flashes up on the tomtom (one xl), momentarily before the tt tells me it can't find the services on the phone.
hmmm.. is there a way round this apart from sell the phone?

Lets share our experience with the 2.71.11
Although I am hesitant to attribute it to the radio rom upgrade, since installing the radio rom 2.71.11 on my phone missed calls have shown up as they should and my particular wm6 rom is known to have an issue with missed calls where they show up as "received calls" when gprs is active.
I'm unaware of any other changes which would have corrected this.
I can also state the rom has been performing well for me..I tether heavily and response has been nice...previously I was on the 2.69.11 rom which would occasionally "go off into limbo" and have to be reset on long tethering sessions..so far *looks for wood to knock on..settles on using his own skull* this has not occured on 2.71.11

Does anyone know if this fixed the 8125's phone and data issue? I am having the issue and would like to know if I need to downgrade to the 2.1* radios or if this will resolve the issue.
And secondly... (OK totally noob here) I still need to CID unlock this phone with hard-SPL? or would it be better to use SoftSPL so I don't void my warranty?
Thanks,
SoBBie
PS the issue I am referring to is post in any places. It is that you will drop a call if your phone tries to connect to the internet.

I use wm6 tnt 1933 and had the same issues. I would have a whole day of missed calls with no voicemail reminder. I have the cingular fix installed but there is still no improvement. I just flashed to 2.71 so I will let you know how this works in a couple of days.

I've used the 2.71 rom for 2 days now and notice that while GPRS is active or connected that I don't receive any calls. The incoming calls go straight to my voicemail, no call waiting sound nothing.
I've not applied the radio fix as it says it's for Cingular and I can't find what it's supposed to fix. I'm on a Euro network so am not sure it's applicable.
I've also recently switched to using XDA WM6R5 from WM5 so is this problem parculiar to WM6 or the radio?
TBH, I'm not 100% sure if this problem existed on WM5 or with other radio roms as I have never noticed it before but in 2.5 years of Wizard ownership I'm sure I would have come across the problem if it existed.

Been on it for about 2 weeks now, no problems at all. If anything battery seems to be a little better, and reception is definitely better. I've had 2 bars in 1 location were I have literally never had any bars before, and generally 1 to 2 bars better than I have seen everywhere else were I didn't already have really good reception. So a big improvement there. I'm not sure if it's just my imagination, but Bluetooth and especially Wi-Fi seem to be better as well. I didn't think they were supposed to be effected by this, but the Wi-Fi in particular seems a whole lot faster and more stable.
G3 T-Mobile MDA, running otherwise official software. Radio on 2.71.11

I tried it for a week as an upgrade to 2.69. I am still having issues with missed calls as it seems to choose which calls it wants to receive. Last night I received some calls but had voicemails for others that did not show up in the call history. The signal strength has improved as I can walk to the back of department stores and still receive calls. Maybe my missed call issue is a WM6 issue or even a TNT 1933 rom issue?

I gave it a couple days. I didn't have any luck. Like most ppl here having problems I had missed calls, full signal bars even when I knew I had no signal. (dropped calls, bad quality...) The only radio rom I've had consistant luck with is the T-Mobile UK 2.19.11. In my never to be humble opinion, the biggest problem with this rom at least is the lack of updates to the signal strength indicator. We don't really know if it's working or not. Obviously if you don't have a signal you're going to miss your call.

Ok, I just flashed BlackDiamond 3.1, and I lost signal randomly, sometimes at night, or after a soft-reset.
So, I tried 2.19.11 RADIO, it seems good, but I lost E icon (Edge), just G icon.
Again, flashed a new RADIO, 2.71.11 and signal bars looks great, E icon is back and it seems that I dont lose signal. But its not true.
But if I go to some place with a bad signal, I dont get a update of signal bars, so I dont know when I really get a good signal, or where.
So, I decided to apply the fix for Wizard. After I´ve installed this fix, I lost (again) my E icon, just show me the G icon. Then I´ve removed this fix, BUT the E icon didnt come back.
BTW, I think I didnt get any missed calls, and when Im connected via GPRS, I do not lose any call. That´s a positive point.
1) Is this radio version really good, or "just show you a good signal" ?
2) I can flash back 2.19.11, but how can I repair the E icon problem? I think Edge is better than G, right? Cause if I go in ConnManager, and turn off cellular radio, after turn on, I get the E icon instead G icon..
About my Wizard:
BlackDiamond 3.1
IPL/SPL: 2.21.0001/olip
CID/SIM unlocked (of course).
Thanks for all, and sorry for my english.

Being the skittish colt that I am this was the first ROM upgrade that I have tried. Granted I just bought my HTC P4300 (Wizard) 2 weeks ago..
Using http://www.dslreports.com/mspeed I was averaging 82kbit/sec.
I just upgraded the radio and now I got 171 kbit/sec. If I do nothing else I will be happy with this.

It seems to work ok. The only problem I've been having is that it doesn't seem to connect well w/ Edge and upload my emails from the pop3 server. Any ideas? Or is it maybe a Win Mobile 6 thing?

Hello, friends! I made the upgrade to 2.71 together with the Official WWE Aku 3.3 Rom and wireless won't start. Everything else works perfectly, but when I try to turn on WiFi it's just turns of by itself and nothing happens. Any suggestions? Many thanks!
