Looking at the official CES directory, High Tech Computers is no where to be found. I was disappointed. I went to Microsoft booth to play with all the new Windows Mobile phones. Tilt was on display. Microsoft reps are speaking highly of the Tilt. When people were asking which phone is the best one out, all the reps pointed to the Tilt. I ask the MS reps if HTC is here at the CES. They pointed me to the right direction. HTC doesnt have a booth at the 2008 CES but they are showcasing their new phones at the Microsoft booth in Central hall.
While I was at the HTC display, many people were asking questions about the touch and the tilt. When it was finally my turn to talk to the HTC reps, I ask about the poor video performance on the tilt and is HTC going to do anything about it. The rep told me that they are NOT aware of the video driver issues. He said it like I have offended their holy grail or something. He was not happy. He asked what video driver issues. I told him that some videos are choppy and not smooth like major drop frames and the camera reacts really slow when indoors. He said that the Tilt can play any videos just fine and the camera slows the framerate so you can take good pictures during lowlight. It has nothing to do with videos. I asked him if he goes to xda developers forum. he said yes. I told him the video driver issue is all over the forum. At this point he looks really agitated so I kind of shifted the questions toward other devices.
If you happen to be in Las Vegas for the CES please stop by the HTC display at the Microsoft booth. Jan 10th is the last of CES. This is the perfect time to MAKE them aware of the Tilt video/display/camera problem.
