Mine is IPL/SPL 1.07 , upgrade to IPL/SPL 1.09 by the Dopod C800 official ROM . Afterward , just like it mention before and installed WM6 successfully !

When resetei the htc P4351 he is not leaving the first screen and is not making sure the hard reset. I can put him in color screen. But the rom that is the site only install if it is synchronized such as pc activesync. I try to install normal but when the 3% to it and restart.

Is your phone HardSPL ?

If your phone is HardSPL then goto the color screen and flash right there. Your computer will see the phone just give it a few moments to read it. If it does not read it then take the phone off of the computer and then plug it back into the computer.

I am not sure I understand what you are saying . But if you HardSPL you don't have to do it again. The rom should work easy for you. Do you have windows xp ? get a rom to install . I suggest using ITsPapaBlack_v4_1 because it has an easy install for you. You download it and click the file " ROM ". Here is the link.

Good idea but he said he was able to flash your rom ....

If it doesn't show it anymore than it is back to stock SPL and no longer safe to flash around:p

My error mate. You need to do HardSPL again. You must start from the begining.

... I have tried to do this but also the pc does not recognise as it leaves the home screen and I believe that in any way I withdrew rom that existed there. So I can not do a hard reset or I synchronize with the PC. Good night. I live in Brazil, which cn morão closer to the htc and in some ways are ahead of us ... would not have to find an original rom Htc P4351 ai not?

After I load up RUU it finds the device then the rom I want to use to Upgrade. When I click Upgrade it takes phone loads of bootloader then goes to the screen with performance bar and once it gets to 2% phone reboots and RUU shows Error 207

Ok step by step means exactly what you did start to finish . So I will guess you didn't install the 3 files since you didn't mention it.

If your phone HardSPL yet ? goto boot-loader mode thats the screen with the tri-colors and tell me what are your readings ?

That is a Rom made for a Hermes, not a Herald.You cannot flash it on your Herald. It will not work!

so.. i got really bored with the typical .cab overlay mutilations of HTC screens on my T-Mobile Wing and figured i would take the plunge along with the others here to HardSPL my phone. i got this one for free online, so i figured if i killed it (any random deity) would kill a kitten for me on my behalf.

its all working for me now. i still havent decided which new rom to install. i want a "lite" version with touch-flo enabled w/cube coz i'm a noob.. suggestions welcome!:D

question - i need one t-mobile program for the hotspots, does anyone have it?

i had to catch myself laughing, because it sounds funny.. to go to hardspl and then ask for a TMO prog, but its that little tzones app that i was thinking of, or a suitable replacement that i could use to login there. its bull puckie software but i get the tzones free with my plan, and airports suck.

ok so my wing is happily residing in hardspl, yet i've been all over this site this afternoon and maybe its my brain but for whatever reason i'm not finding the nbh files very easily found. handy links perhaps?

i wanted to try out the different versions of touch it with the others out here. theres no easily located download central for the hardspl files

Got it! Thank you for the help. This rom has worked out very nicely for me, the only thing that is not working on it is the HTC Album, which appears to try to open File Explorer when you click upon the link under programs, then crashes my Wing.

Everything else, so far so good. The performance of my Wing has *improved dramatically* with the addition of this new rom. I cant even believe how fast it is - even opening up IE on Edge is noticeably faster. Using Opera mini is very cool, liking that a lot.

Yes - I have BS installed: 156-201-247 w/boost set to 273.. and blazing along with no issues. Normally I have the boost moderately pegged at 260, but 273 appears just as stable.

I case of people who don´t read 200 post and still brick their device - here is the guide that worked for ALL people with:

HTC P4350
XDA Terra
WING

with IPL 4.xxx and higher!!! (that is IMPORTANT)

and then follow this:

Default
For me it was working when:

1. install canonyang.cab
2. install aserpolicy.cab
3- install disablesecurity.cab

4. SOFTRESET

5. run RUU from Hard-SPLWM6 folder verison 4.70.yang

6. screen will become white - WAIT until it reboots itselfe.
7. done!

check if SPL now is 4.70.yang

Back on PAGE 20 of this thread there is a helpfull distillation of this process. Add to this that when you HARD-SPL your phone, if you actually boot into the basic ROM your Active Sync will try to set itself up again. Note: you do not need to setup active sync, all you need is to have your USB connection enabled under USB to PC (start > Settings > Connections *sometimes under System in other roms*). You have to do that before you begin to HARD-SPL your phone, so that should be obvious. That said, IF you haplessly and needlessly decide to run the Active Sync config wizard, note the following:

DO NOT CHECK THE BOX THAT ENABLES PHONE CALLS OR MESSAGES TO BE SENT TO YOUR PHONE WHEN HOOKED UP TO ACTIVE SYNC BY USB!!!

Ok, after having refused to hard-spl for the longest time, I'm finally going to take the jump and do a small write-up on it as I go.

Platform: TMO Wing c/o T-Mobile USA
Current ROM: Open Touch 3.0 WM 6.1 Slim
IPL: 4.10.0002
SPL: 4.10.0000

1. Started off by copying all the files in the zip to my phone.
2. Not enough space?
3. Doh, only the cabs :rolleyes:
4. Install them. Ttran says you have to do it in a specific order. Hard Reset.
5. Reinstall them in specific order, same as post #1.
6. Run RUU? I only see .exe's, no .ruu's... damn I'm dumb, RUU = Rom Update Utility.exe
7. Wait nervously. No wammy no wammy no wammy NO BRICK!
8. Yang Splash Screen - yay!
9. Put into bootloader

New IPL 4.10.0002
New SPL 4.70.Yang

Woot! :D
First try success!

Okay now i know that this may sound idiotic but i have gone through all of the forums and have been reading for hours. i have tried to apply a new rom but it "bricked" my phone. I'm saying bricked cuz to my knowledge it is not working until i get it working then i will say otherwise. I'm really hoping that somebody would be able to help me. I have followed all of the steps but i do have a question. I do not know how to add the .cab files to phone when it is on the boot loader screen. Please give me any info that would be helpful. You dont add cabs when on boot loader mode ... Did you HardSPL you phone ? If so then download a lite rom any one any choice. If you did not HardSPL your phone then flash with your orginal rom .. The rom from your company that you got your cell phone service through ... Then report back ...

well unfortunately it didnt work i looked on the website of tmobile and couldnt find the original rom for the wing. so i downloaded the mda version and that was not good. i am going to continue to look and search google for the wing rom but i just wanted to give you an update.

I followed the instructions to hard spl my Wing and I keep getting the same error message. I did it to my phone before, and was able to put new roms on it, but had to get a replacement phone from T-Mobile and now I am having trouble putting Hard SPL on it and flashing it.

It gets to 3% and then gives me Error [270]:Update Error. The image file is corrupted. Please check your Update Utility.

I deleted the old flash center and downloaded a new one and still the same problem. Any idea's? I really would like to flash my phone and get away from the TMobile stock rom! Thanks =)

First off id like to thank every one for there support, this has to be one of the best sites ive see.
Ok ive been reading on this hardspl and i have checked out post 200 most every thing has been answered over and over again, So here goes a few more there are 2 links or files to down load, the first is hardspl_wm6 that being the one that you have to install the 3 cab files i am assuming you would install them as you would any other cab. place on mem card and install from there yes no maybe ? and they have to be installed in order and again i have to assume that the order would be like in this post yes. and i would have to sot reset after each one is installed or can i install them all in this order, then soft reset.
Now to the other file Aserg-hard-spl.470 its got 1 cab file and its got every thing that the 3 cab files have with install instructions, what is this one all about can i install that one and have a working hardspl ? it would seem alot faster and easer to use Aserg-hard-spl.470 anyone know anything about this file
I'll wait before i install just so im clear on every thing

BTW- afteryou have Hard-SPL.

Never use an official RUU with included SPL.nbh (delete this ebfore flashing)

And never use the RUU from Hard-SPL

Allways use the included RUU or take an RUU without SPL.bnh when you onlycan download the ruu_wigned.nbh.

There is a sticky regarding question number 2.
The HardSPL cannot be removed by Sprite backup since sprite backup doesn't touch the formatting. You can use USPL and the factory RUU to restore your SPL.

1. copy cab file to mem card then install cab file softreset
2. run the Run-hard-spl.exe
it just runs an update so you can have hardspl and every thing else remands the same
and your done,when it reboots you wont even have to check to see if its there cuz its going to be on the boot screen canon yang and it tells ya that you have hardspl

O and if your wondering how i removed it, i used DaMyth's post it works great first time.

Then you keep away from HardSPL (as far as I could gather, I haven't tried it yet).
If it can be of help, I had SPL 1.something with the stock issued wm5 rom, then upgraded to the stock wm6 (from htc's website) and now my SPL is 4.xx .


Question from me instead:
My IPL and SPL are different (both 4.xxxxxx, but one has all zeroes while the other ends with a 1 - after all zeroes that is).
That's ok, isn't it ? In case I was to try HSPLing it.

Hi i have the same problem like others, i had a t-mobile wing, IPL 4.10.0002
SPL 4.10.0000, with wm6, in flight mode, already with hard reset like fatcory, already install canonyang, disablesecurity, asergpolicy, already activate USB to PC in the wing, and also soft reset, then when i run the RomUpdateUtility.exe
Everithing looks ok, but my wing gets the white screen and dont automatically reboot, also recibe an error 260 from RUU, any idea??
I run a risk if i still trying??

Try disabling USB within activesync. The problem is the PC isn't maintaining the connection after the device boots the patched bootloader. It's just a random thing that happens sometimes (or at least it used to be random with my phone.)

I´m too stupid to do this. I can´t even get into the bootloader to check whitch version i have. Are there any differences between the provider given ppc? I got mine from eplus and if i´m not to clumsy, the way to get into the Bootscreen do not work for me. Are there any hints or special tricks to do so?

starting it like in the first post but have to use the "EnterBootloader.exe" from sd-card and after this i can start the "ROMUpdateUtility.exe"
to install.
after install the phone runs ok but i´m german and i restart it with german version (5.4.407.1)
i´ll had the hardreset screen but always i became an error (update starts till 2% and than it stops (image file is corrupted)).
so i thought thats no problem to have the english version but now the phone always starts in hard reset modus and there is no way to use any other ruu.

(sorry for my english and i´m new to this)

The only problem with Aserg's method is that it doesn't repartition the ROM and thus you don't regain any space going from one ROM to another ROM with more space.

I believe it should work for you mate if its a herald ..... Do you have the original rom for your device. I would say get that firste before doing anything and dont forget to back up your data.

I dont think you are bricked .... Put phone into bootloader mode and flash your stock rom .. Let me know what happens ....

Im just a little lost on where do i install the 3 cab/zip files, whats the specific place i put them at on my phone

Hi, i tried to install the cabs, the phone was not accepting it, install failed for all cabs.

A friend told me to Hard-Reset the Phone (see below how).

After this the cabs are installed perfectly and now im updating the Rom image with the white screen, as described in the first post of this posting.

Ok, So I did the Hard SPL on my phone as required by one of the ROMs. Once it was installed everything checked fine, so I moved onto installing the ROM. It also installed fine, but I am just not exactly happy with it, and I wish to try out a different ROM.

Here is where my problems start. I can not flash this phone anymore, like it is safe guarding against it. I can plug in the USB cord, and transfer HUGE files, however, If I try to flash a ROM it will go at most to 1% and then drop the USB connection.

I have tried to redo the Hard-SPL, I have tried to go to the current T-Mobile ROM, it is all the same, up to 1% and nada.

I was also told to try to copy a nbh file to the root directory of the memory card on the phone and when I turn it on to hold the camera button, well that brings up a color screen test screen, and it tells me that the USB cable is plugged in at the bottom left, and does nothing. I let it sit for about 15 mins, and it just stayed at that screen.

Can anyone offer any more info on what to try here?

ok bro do me a huge favor.. Do a hard reset or go into settings a do a clear storage.. Master reset the device then try again.. Or flash back to stock rom and then try a hard spl.. Make sure you are def above 4.xxx.. Any other problems please private message me.. ok try this for me. go to menu, settings then system. look for usb to pc.. make sure the box has a check in it. if it doesnt then bam!!!! that was your problem.. if not do a hard reset and try again.. if nothing let me know and i will flash my wing to exactly what your problem is and try and figure out whats up k..

You need to update to the stock T-Mobile 6.0 ROM in order for your IPL/SPL to be updated, THEN you can apply HardSPL.

OK, after 2+ years of using p4350-wm5 Vodafone NL (dutch),
I resided to upgrade OS. But sth is not working write.


I'm following next procedure "How2Hard-spl.txt";
1. installing all 3 cab (canonyang, disablesecurity, asergpolicy) > I run them from pda
2. softreset > kill-switch on pda
3. run hard-spl ruu > this should be "RUUGetInfo.ex_" from 'HardSpl_WM6' package but it WILL NOT RUN (or do anything) from pda's file manager.
4. whitesreen will appear - wait until xda turns off itselfe and restarts > yes I got it but only then I pressed 'EnterBootloader.exe'. Whitescreeen was for 30min on, then I soft-reset pda.
5. when it boots = happy > yes I'm happy because wm5 is still working, luchy me
6. check in bootloader if it is 4.60.yan!!! = then it is Hard-spl > didnt got zo far .. :-(

I have tryed to run "HTC_P4350_NLD_4.17.404.2_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship.e xe" after but it's not working.

actually if you read the posts :P you would see that 4.60 crashed a few too many and this is the update. instead of going thorough a bunch of crap they just substituted ver 4.7 for 4.6 to make it easier and you did correctly. i now have a spl'd t-mobile wing and you guys are genius. i will be looking forward to more from you guys keep up the great work. p.s. i'm a newbie.

HARD-SPL = allways HARD-SPL never use again)

for all is important. You need the RUU_signed.nbh

decide on your own which way you want to go...

I have tmobile wing and trying to hardspl. I did something and it doesn't soft reset at all. When I do the hard reset it goes to the bootloader with

IPL 4.10.0002
SPL 4.10.0000
USB

and when I flash the hardspl with romupdateutility.exe (I cannot do with sd card, I don't know how to do without opening the phone) it says error[270] file is corrupted or so.

I tried with all kinds of ROM and all say the same error. When I try to use the official rom, it connects and stops at 3% saying that "invalid model id".

Please help me out of this issue.

Ok my friend .. Do a hard reset so we are sure your phone is at least able to follow thru the instructions. Also which phone do you have again . I am working thru my cell phone internet on my computer as we have a black out here in new york . But if you do the hard reset I am sure it should go thru nice and easy .

That's not German but Dutch.
anyways I can't remember if i HARDSPL'ed my phone before.
I've searched and searched the fora and wiki but could not get a clear answer how to check if you phone is already HARDSPL.

My current IPL is 4.21.0001
SPL is 4.21.0000
Using phone (Herald P4350) from ebay which was already custom rommed..

Could someone tell me if it's possible to check if my phone is already HARDSPL'ed?

HArd reset will get rid of all the junk or added programs you may have added or any settings which may have been altered . Its like you starting on a fresh canvas vs an old used one.

Guys i have a question, i was using Nokia for along time then i decided to change to HTC some of my friends gave me HTC P4350,( HERA100 ) or Herald. And I don't know how to update SPL Or IPL to 4.XX

It worked.I have a o2 terra (hera100) and i managed to hardspl it,but i have a major problem, the touchscreen doesn t function,it had not before,that s why i want to change the os,maybe that solved the problem.i thought one of the cables is broken, i opened the phone and cjhecked,nothing seeable,all the buttons function,i measured the touchscreen with a digital ohmmetre and function, i don t know what to thing anymore,so if anyone can release me of this pain, pls give a little help. Good job for the hardspl!!!
