Saving for FAQ.

Oh sure, I thought I was supposed to put that one up. :)

I'll work something up and keep it right here, post #7 on the first page.

People - PM me with things that should be in the FAQ. I promise to try to get to it once a day, ok?

Touch It is not Open Touch
And getting it -> download from the links in the Touch It topics, read the explenations. And if you have any questions left, they'll probably help you :)

@TS: Waiting patiently :)

For Newbies, I would start out with reading stickies (especially WM6 on the front page, Sticky #2). There are other FAQs on this forum, you are a new member, please READ, READ, and again READ all guides and as many discussions as you can, pick the version of touch-it, open touch you like, then download it from the thread, and ask questions in that thread! Thanks and good luck!

Hi,

I've tried the SCLPC cube before and it does work pretty good. I'm the type of person that if some thing is not broken don't fix it. The current touchflo cube works great and seems to be very stable. I've never really had any issues with it so it does not look as if I will be replacing it.

Thanks for the update, but I asked all beta testers to pm me with their feed back.

The reason for this was that I did not want a public beta testing as with v2.2, it cause too many issues.

Please report any new findings via Pm.

Most of your findings have already been reported by the other beta testers and I have or currently working on resolving all issues.

Thanks again,

it would be nice to have ANB Software Web Viewer - http://www.anbsoftware.co.uk/download.php?id=13
they just released a new version... it adds tabs and some other cool stuff to PIE, and it's super small (98KB installed). It does have a weird issue (for me at least) where it seems to crash if you close it with the X button instead of file-> exit, but that might just be me.

I would also say the last.fm player would be nice, but that's still in really early development, so maybe that should wait a few more weeks.

I've tested this along with a lot of other apps, it was pretty good.
And I also ran into some strange issues with it as well.
So, I'm not likely not going to include it.

Also,

Hi,

I'm using EsmertecJbed, after talking to Ivanmmj I spent more time redoing the packages for it and got it to work. In the beta version I did not include the signed version of opera since I was not sure if I would include it in the final release. I'm running beta to with the signed version and opera is running smoothly.

I was also thinking about making opera the default browser but then there will be folks that dont want that.

Most likely once the rom has been release I will add how to make opera the default browser in the FAQ section.

I typically use:
-Google Maps
-JBed/Opera Mini (who'da thunk it :P)
-MS Word
-MS Excel
-HTC Home
-HTC Album
-HTC Home Customization Tool
-Total Commander
-The PBAr Battery Monitor
-Battery Status to overclock and view CPU/Mem usage
-The secondary start menu you put in I'm in love with - think I hit hibernate 100 times a day. No problems, just anal like that haha
-Glossy Black Bars - be cool if we could do other colors. The black I'm starting to tire of.
-Disable Cab Delete - if you could have this cooked in, I'll FedEx you a Killians tommorow morning :P
-The games are fun, but I prefer just to play DopeWars (http://dopewarsppc.sourceforge.net/). Haven't done a single drug in my life, but I still have fun with it :D

I went to the Buttons setting in the Settings section and set Button 4 to "HTCActionScreen." However, in Touch-It 4.4, I had to make a shortcut for it in the Programs shortcut folder for it to appear in the list for that option, so you might have to do the same in this ROM. Can't say for sure as I've only used Touch-It 2.3 and 4.4, never any Open Touches.

My default browser is Opera Mobile (not Mini).

Frankly I don't like the whole "someone else is caching all my GET requests" thing. That skeeves me out. But I know people LOVE their Mini, so...

And it's so tiny there's no reason not to include it!

Hi,

Thats strange, everytime I add a program like HTCActionScreen I always create a short cut for it. Makes life a little simpler for me and other users.

/Start/Accessories/HTCActionScreen and will also appear when assigning buttons to it.

Your should have it. It does by default if you created the package from a cab. If it doesn't on itje, it's because of a mistake.

Most of them are currently installed and working but I might remove some if people are not going to use them.

I, for one, would like it if the latest quickmenu (2.7) were added on. One question, the lite version will not have the cube right? I'm asking because i would like to add/remove cubes (Slither's, Kona's, etc.) as they are updated as well as having my rom "stuffed" with apps as well (magic ss, anyone?). I don't want too much change from the 2.5 other than it runs smoother and has upgraded apps as well as a few other tweaks - aesthetically speaking I would like 2.5 to resemble 2.4. thanks.

I serch with google and use google maps,I like inernet sharing S-tris,bubble breaker, wishing galaga was full v.pocketcm v..18 won't install worked fine on stock rom but not on big2.4???PRAYING for htc home weather proxy update fix, and set pic as desktop button for htc album. oh yeah, my phone doesn't lock up, hardly ever have to soft reset compared to stock t-mo rom. i'm pretty good about closing apps when i' done with em and cleaning out my internet files/history to keep my wing speedy and clean!

Personally I don't use quick menu (prefer larger for easier navigation) so that can be removed, but up to you. I do use Voice Command and Voice Speed Dial, so as someone else already mention, please leave those in the package (that is why we call it a biggy).

Also, a big request from my WIFE, PLEASE include the Solitare, she is addicted to it, or someone point to a cab that I can install! She will literally kill me if after I reflash the game ain't there (last night she store 5237 in 149 seconds, amazing).

Otherwise, I am getting the thrills, finally get to upgrade from Open Touch 1. Which icons did you decide to use (hoping it is 2.4 and not iPhone), and can we over-write the icons without breaking anything! Thanks and hope to download this puppy soon!

How about doing a version that doesn't require Hard SPL as it kindof leaves some of the users in the dark who have an SPL over 5 (which it can't be, if I remember correctly)?

Kinda sucks not being able to use it.

If you would like to change the look of htc home, you can download htc home customizer and then you can change clock and icons.

This is all I have of it. I cant remember where I got it, should be the right size for portrait mode. Landscape will chop the top off and add it to the side.

Edit: It may have to be resized. I just applied it and it cuts off the sweet Windows logo. Maybe one of our photo friendly friends can get it to work?

As for the cube, please perform the following or for review the newbee post.

Goto /Start/Programs/TouchFlo/TFSetting

Choose from the top drop down menu for the choice of cube activiation.

Goto to /Start/Programs/TouchFlo/TouchSettings

Also, how do you feel about having an open touch branded theme, and does anyone want my xda dev theme:

If there is a way to disable the "cell" network profile when roaming or some way to stop urgent phone messages from popping up repeatedly when roaming because the gprs service cannot or is having problems connecting, would be greatly appriciated. I have looked all thru the registry, searched the forum and even looked on google with no luck. I wouldn't mind the the message once but when it pops up so many times that it renders the phone useless it tends to get a little anoying. Its also worth saying that this problem has happened with all the other wm6 roms that I have used so its just not open touch 1.0, 2.2, 2.4 and so on. thank you for all the hard work.

Hi,

It was a busy for me yesterday and wanted to give folks a chance to play with the slimlime version. The slimline does not include the cube, it has bioscroll features but not cube. The cube takes up a pretty good amount of space.

The biggy should be completed today, I just need to recheck a few reg hacks that I added, but with the tmobile rom it did not go through.

Hi,

As stated before on a different post I will be creating a version for the p4350 once I'm done with the roms for the wing.

So, just hang tight and please remember that I only have a wing so I will have to start the p4350 version out as a beta.

Some people say that the only main difference is the keyboard, but I want to make sure that users will not have more problems.

The tmobile wing rom for has be a big pain in the b*tt.

Mainly a few features users have posted for me to add, and example would be the bluetooth, and button 5(hold) option so when they go to add voice command it will work out of the box.

Also,

What version of ROM is this based on? Also, is the Radio version updated or will it use my current version? I have a newer version than I've seen anywhere else yet and would like to keep it if I update to this ROM. Thanks much!

Does anyone else have a problem with the HTC weather plugin from working? I always get the message Unable to retrieve data for selected city. after a long wait. It only works if I am synced up with my pc. I know that sounds like some connection setting. But everything else works that requires a data connection including email PIE and Google Maps.

Just to make sure have you ran the network wizard and configured your connection settings followed by a softrest?

Folks,

Change of plans on the wallpaper for the biggy.

I'm going to us this one since I don't have time or the tools available to edit the other one.

Is it possible to change the wallpaper to anything you like? I tried to change the wallpaper when I was running Touch-It and it looked like crap.

Hey Ttran, you do what you can, and we can take can of the rest. I perosonally would prefer the dark green Windows Mobile version for the background (more official/professional then the blue chains or whatever this is). I assume we are talking about boot screen wallpaper (not the Today Theme that can be easily changed with a tsk). If someone tell us how to change those two files, those that know basic image editing techniques can modify to their liking! Thanks a lot for everything you do. I will donate from my next paycheck... Peace!

As for the biggy I'm going to go with the one simplicity05 edited in post 132.

By the way great job on touching up the photos simplicity05.

Not a prob man, photoshop's my thing. If you need anything else shopped or have any project ideas, feel free to PM me and I'll see what I can whip up. A small token of appreciation for your hard work on a magnificent rom.

Oh, can I also get your splash screen background pic, I'd like to play with that a bit.

And about your slimline bg - I'd personally love to see something a bit more "professional" looking on that one as well. Again, I'll see what I can come up with.

Not this one bro, the one you edited, it looks great but words are covered by the bottom bar in both modes.

I was going to edit it but did not have time at work today.

I will most likely use it on the next rev.

Thanks,

Can you toss up a screen of the image applied so I can see how much adjusting needs to happen? If I'm thinking correctly, this could potentially take me only 5-10 minutes.

It's the windows mobile photo you posted, just save a copy to the windows directory of your device and you will see what I'm talking about.

You just have to play with it to make it fit correctly.
