Use pictures and videos, choose the picture and you can set the transparency. Just change it to 0.

radio is the software on the phone that handles all the connections. So your phone calls, data lines ..etc...

Agreed. 273mhz seems to be the sweet spot for battery life and performance. I can clock higher, but the battery drain isn't worth it.

After installnig this ROM, I don't get the option to connect to "Data Connection" anyone help please... I need data bad!!!

p.s. - I can see the data connection there, it just doesn't let me click on it. And when I open IE, it doesn't connect to gprs.

It is like a desktop CPU. I can clock this one to 299mhz just fine but I've had other Omap850 devices that cap at 247mhz.

I rarely overclock. Don't see a reason to with my ROM. If and when I do, I set it to clock at 201 whenever the phone application is running to prevent that squeal that I hate so much... I clock the cam at 299 when I do overclock, also.

I run at 273 with wakeup, reboot and remember last speed all checked. I never notice the squeal like Ivan.

That's really weird. Soft reset?
if that doesn't help, try a hard reset.

fixed it... it seems that with t-mobile theres no roaming on anyones network and the automatic setting for my network was going to cell one which worked sometimes, and then not at all, and when i manually select there are 2 options with other one being unicel. i select that and viola.

I have noticed that when trying to enter a name in the "To" field in Text Messaging, it does not access my contact list and suggest recipients. Is there a fix for this or a setting I can modify to have it access the contacts list?

I've been using a 4GB SDHC in my Wing since I bought it, love having room for movies and programs.

Just wanted to add another confirmation to the list.


im using a sandisk 6gb microsdhc and it works fine on my wing.


And that's all I found so far ... but technically SDHC goes all the way up to 32 GB or something like that.

Whenever i click on the top-right corner on the X button the right softkey is activated, or no click is registered at all.

If I remember correctly, when you select a picture to be your background thru the "pictures and videos" program, you are able to set the transparency.....

So far so good with this ROM. One setting that I would like to configure is for the dial pad. I liked being able to press the left keypad to go to speed dial and the right keypad to go to call history. I can't seem to do that with this new Touch Dual dial pad. I recall there was a registry edit to enable this, but can't find it anymore on the forums. Any ideas on how to get this functionality back? I actually can't even figure out how to add new speed dial entries...

But there is a HUGE difference in battery consumption in the newest Touch IT roms. ITJE is the man, and he practically doubled the battery life. My typical day is 8am-7pm ... before Touch IT v4, I would get home around 7 with 10-15% battery ... now I usually get home with 50%+ battery.

HTCCalendar is not in this ROM (it's also not listed in the feature list on post #1)

All programs which came with Touch-IT 4.4 are installed on your device, none will be installed on your mSD card.

But i guess HTCcalendar is called "calendar.exe" and is in \windows\its\

ok here are some problems ive had so far with 4.4 . I changed some colors with (RC MOD) and it went back to stock after a few days? I had something called (ORGINIZER) that was on my left soft key and that dissappeared ? Every time I place something other then contacts on the right soft key It dissappears after awhile too? Internet sharing cab didnt work for me, David Duprat and I burned the midnight oil...thanks for your help Dave..but I still cant get it to work. Do i need active sync for it to work?
And where can I get that voive dialing thing again its not working on this version but its there.

You don't need activesync for it to work, and actually the internet sharing will actually disconnect activesync.


Go to Start, Settings, Soft keys to change the soft keys ... be sure to soft reset after u set it. If that doesn't work, I can teach you how to change them thru the registry or make a cab to set them for u.

I am starting to see some performance issues with my Wing after about a week of running the 4.4 rom.

For starters my 4gig sdhc card will still be seen but none of the programs can be accessed. I can reseat the card and they will work again for a short time then quit again. I have tried the thread for modifying dll files in the winows directory but with totalcommander I get error messages stating that files cannot be overwritten or deleted. Resco Explorer I gives me an error that states access is denied when i try to rename or delete files. Specifically I am trying to rename or delete the OMAP850_SHDC.dll, so I can stop the continuous reboot issue. I tried doing it through active sync and same thing can see the files but cannot modify them.

Next when i unlock the phone to access the today screen, it takes about a minute to load anything on the screen.

I have batterystatus set to 260

All of my settings are identical to what i had on 2.3.

i was thinking about changing my touch-it v4.4 stuffed edition to the lite edition because i keep getting a low memory error when i play music with the audio manager. i have no other programs installed except Google maps to the storage card. it says i have at least 20 mb free program memory. my main question is do i have to reinstall hard-spl or can i just install the touch-it lite. if anyone can think of any other reason why this is happening with low memory i would greatly appreciate it. i can play the music with media player fine but i just don't like the layout as much. thanks for yalls time.

New problem. I record video with my wing but when I got to play it back on my wing it says something about lacking source filter. I have TOUCH-IT 4.4 full, and have not tweaked any video applications thusfar. First check if vibration is toggled on...(Lot of people make this mistake when installing a new rom) Because not every rom has the same default settings ;)
And then just Try hard-Reset??

Or you better try the OpenTouch roms which are cooked for the Wing devices

from my experiences with this rom you have to go in and change the phone settings to vibrate when it rings and the same things with the sms messages as well. im using a brand new t-mobile wing that i got shipped yesterday and i encountered the same problems. give that a try and see if it helps out any...

im a noob at this, running on a wing, I downloaded the touch-it 4.4 and the hardspl, i unzipped both of them, i dragged the touch-it 4.4 folder and dropped it in the hardspl folder. so what do I do next? you don't have to hard spl to do it... if u download Herald-USPL-Beta3 found here aka flash center (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358615) all u have to do is drop the file in the os.rar file into the ruu folder and it will wok just fine. thats what i did to get 4.4 on to my wing...

Videos work fine for me, u might want to check the codex of the video, i dont think it plays dvix - try diffrent formats

now i really loved the organizer however i got one silly problem now

the first time it opened it automatically set both buttons to Active sync
now i found the contacts again to put on the right side of the screen but i cant find the organizer and i really liked it:S

yea i had the same issue, and wasnt able to find that shortcut - i wonder why when u open the buttons settings it automatically changes it to the first set

Strange problem for me, i dont know if its the ROM or something i added, but every other day or so my battery gets drained super fast (100% to 12 % in about 3 hrs) im thinking it maybe my wireless, but am not so sure. Any body else having this problem?

especially if you have wifi, bluetooth, full brightness, full volume, overclocking to 270+, and have something flashing on the screen while you're talking on the phone...all going at the same time hehe.. you're looking at like a 1% every 45-50 seconds drain there. haha

B) Why does running Opera Mini 4 hide the taskbar and the soft buttons at the bottom? I'd rather it not, is there an option I'm missing somewhere?

Oops, just noticed something. If you switch around the Profiles on the HTCHome plugin, then putting it back on Normal yields no Alarm Vibrate or Ring. Trying to figure out a fix:

EDIT: Discovered all I had to do is reset the sound in the alarm option (click the bell in the alarm page) Whoops! After unchecking and then rechecking them all is golden again.

it may be past my bed time. I just flashed this ROM and I thought when it first came up that my left soft key went to the HTC Action Screen. Then I played with buttons... (whats that button do uncle itje).. so now I was using the soft key menu and cant find the HTC Action Screen even listed.. hmmm. very excited to try this and its much faster so far then 2.3.

Ah, it's just a simple bug in the ROMsettings (/Programs/System/). I had Flightmode off and Vibrate on. Rechecking these to the default helped some - though I've found the best soultion is to turn off the visual enhancements. This'll give you the plain blue ComManager, but no random popups (at least non yet)

I think that's close to the stock ROM on battery I think. Are you web browsing? The wifi antanne should be turning off when your screen turns off.

1. Run Network Setup (Start Menu>Settings>Connection) and choose T-mobile USA from the providers

2. Turn Bluetooth On and make sure BT is visible to other devices. I also turn off passkeys (makes it easier, iR was sooo much better aside from the lack of speed)

3. Start Menu>Settings>System>Region Settings>Date

4. I always install to a flash card. You'll have to reinstall most apps (the bane of the registry) always, but keeping all your documents and ringtones there should be standard. All my contacts are on my SIM or you could sync with your computer to keep the tasks and calendars.

Thanks for the reply. 1 & 3 worked, trying to get update of weather but haven't received data yet. Will try 2 with another phone, but turned off passkey as you suggested. When you say iR do you mean infrared Radio? I think that's different than BT. Looks like 4 is a problem, I guess I'll hold until I finish my game first then flash.

Now I met a new problem, when I sync my Wing to PC, it was recognized correctly at first, but moments later ActiveSync pops out an error message and takes my phone as Guest. I've tried to reboot my phone, my computer, doesn't help, maybe I'll reinstall ActiveSync.

If anyone wants Voice Commands I found Cyberon Voice Commander in the Kaiser forums that someone extracted. It's no MS Voice Command, but it's also not $40.

It also seems to work with this rom, it's the only version I could even get to install (I get security violations on a whole bunch of others I found). You also might have to train the voices for contacts.

We have all missed something 1 time or another . As for that Start > Settings > Softkey > change it to what you wish mate. Ok thats no good as I dont see organizer there .. hmmmmmm good question let me see let me see ... Ok I guess it will have to be a reg-edit ....

All of the main keys will work. Its mainly punctuation that you use with the alt key is a little different.

Yes wifi is working both 802.11b and 802.11g.

My mistake was that i had disabled wireless communication when pda connected to pc, but to do some test in convenient way i connected it to pc to use "pocket controller" so wifi was turned off continuously.

I installed Remote Desktop (WM6 RDP-Finster.cab) for WM6 but it doesn't send keybord keys to remote computer (using either hw keyboard or sw keyboard).

I also noticed the same to things . But as I don't use ip phone I cant really help much on the settings , But I do believe you can use any ip phone as long as you have a wifi connection. You have to goto wireless settings thru settings > connections. But I think you figured out that part already.

Well sounds are working for me mate . do you have them enabled ? Start > Settings > Sounds & Notifications . Also do you have the phone audio turned up ?

First of all, thank you soo much for this! I've been thinking of doing this for months but was too scared.

I just need help adding a windows live email account. windows live doesn't exist on the programs and even when i try to add live mail from t-mobile set-up email or add new email account from messages, it doesn't work. either it shows me to the windows website via internet explorer or it doesn't do anything at all. I just want to take advantage of windows live push email feature for non-exchange server emails. Is there a windows live cab out there or some other wayy to have push email thru windows live? thanks a mil!

strange thing that has JUST started to happen. i have itje's Touch-IT installed on my wing- for the past year or so, with the overclock program. However since yesterday, when i turn it off, it wont restart- instead it powers up, loads the ROM and goes to password protection (required for my network) then it shuts down and restarts up again.

First time it happend, i freaked. Took out the battery and let it charge for some time and then restarted- took me about an hour, dont know what i did, but it worked.

2nd time now-(first time i restarted it since the last time) and same issue. So i have shut it down and am charging it up. i know its at around 30% battery, and turned off overclock at restart.


Anyone else having this issue?

Great ROM!! I have tested about 10-15 in the past couple of weeks and this one is by far the best of the lot (donation to follow)...


The only issue I have is that the Voice Speed Dial says that "there is no trained voice tag" and shuts down without the option to train it.

My sis just got a new blackberry so she gave me her old WING so I decided to play with it since this isnt my real phone.

My real phone is a Shadow that I have already customized extensively (6.1,youtube,theme's the works) so I know the workings of at least how to search and stuff like that.

When I got here it seems like its more work to change or maybe I am just not understanding.....I was wondering if this rom would still be good to use or not since it's discontinued.

I have already read up to page 23 in this thread and have already "Hardspl," my phone ...just need a little more info on how to do upload a rom for the WING...is it the same as the Shadow?
