To use this versions, you must have HARD-SPL (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358225) on your device, read the

Setup your device:
Use TF-Settings in touchflo folder to setup cube, it wont start up without.
Use Rom Settings in System folder to setup what buttons you want in CommManager
Use Rom Settings to enable/disable xT9

Tips & Tricks or how to customize your Touch-IT rom

Here is a "How to change" for german users with Ä,Ö,Ü - Thx to papamopps for writing this for me
use total commander or PHM reg editor to edit registry

1. HKCU >> ControlPanel >> Keybd
create string named Locale and put 4-digit code of your keyboard (my german wizard with WM6.0 WWE ROM uses 0407) (edit:herald use this too. Itje)

2. HKCU >> keyboard layout >> Preload >> 1 >> Default
change value of last 4 digits to your code (in my case, I changed e0010409 to e0010407)

3. HKCU >> keyboard layout >> Preload >> Default
change value of last 4 digits to your code e0010409 to e0010407

4. HKLM >> System >> CurrentControlSet >> Control >> Layouts - rename or copy the e0010409 folder to e0010407

5. edit the sym.0409.txt in windows directory

sym.0409.txtx: you have to leave the a,o,u in every line and delete the other till ä,ö,ü

for example axxxäxxxx =delete the xxx in front of ä and do it for ö and ü

then press ok and save the file.

DO a complete softreset = pressing power for 5sec and press yes.

then turn on... Et voila


you now have a german keyboard with ä,ü,ö on your Touch-IT

All of the main keys will work. Its mainly punctuation that you use with the alt key is a little different.

From what I know, the only way to fix it is to recook it with the correct keyboard driver.

In the original HTC Touch its reverse.. Its from BOTTOM2TOP...

Can somebody tell me, what is the main difference between IT TOUCH 4.0 and TOUCH v4.4 as I am unable to figure it out; other than touch dual pad.:confused:

TouchIT 4.4 has a couple of significant differences with 4.0. But 4.4 is probably the best rom that has been released for this device. I'm personally very impressed and happy with this rom compared to any rom i've ever installed before.
The differences I've noticed are the DialPad, the Call History, The battery life is incredible, apart from the various other programs that have been added to the rom.... and other small changes that make "life easier". It's hard to explain unless you've tried the roms personally.

all keys work EXCEPT... @,?,!,(,),=

there all the ones that seem to be mixed up when i hold down alt and press it...for example when i press the @, it will display =.

It's built into the ROM. as long as you're ok with those key's being swapped, you shouldn't have any other problems.

With 12MB pagepool = 18MB RAM
with 6MB pagepool = 25 - 26MB RAM

I can't speak for every cook, but you'll notice that most of the time going from a major version to another, it's usually a TOTALLY different ROM. The only similarities being the cook cooking. Usually, the cook has learnt a lot more and has better things he can integrate. So you might not have issues if you had issues with a particular thing on an older "version." What kind of MMS issues, I wonder, though. I never had any when I used 2.3 before I started cooking my own.

So I instaleld this thing on my Wing and the Photo Album is upside down when in landscape mode. Not to mention that it will open MegaVideos and Youtube videos but all you get is a black screen. Same with Adobe Flash Lite.

Also, I can't select the Action Screen as one of the buttons and I can't find it in the Programs menu either.

that weird "X" button activating the right soft key seems to have gone.

Voice Speed Dial - still does not work.
It starts to the microphone screen but will enter the settings screen.
Reinstalling Voice Speed Dial and regedit makes it work again.

I want to thank you for this awesome rom. I usually had problems when softresetting with my 4gb hcsd , had to pop it out each time, tried renaming the dll file for the sdhc driver , didnt work. This rom has no issues with that. Also had alot of work everytime installing all the software i want, now with this rom all the software is already included for me , perfect solution. Oh and i love the cube, and the htc album. Now i have my Jabra bt620s stereo bluetooth headset with this rom on my herald everywhere i go. Its the perfect mp3 player and phone and agenda !

This is without a doubt the best Rom I've ever installed on my Wing. Apart from the keyboard problem, my phone has never run this well, and I've ever need so satisfied with it.

What are everyone's experience with the improvement of the battery life on the rom?

All of the other additions and modifications that itje has added are awesome. The only thing I don't like is the tx9 text thing, which seems to work whenever it wants even if I left it disabled.. and the different input methods appear to have a mind of their own... but its minor

I've been talking to some friend who are programmers to see if someone can edit the keybddr.dll file in assembly and change the characters that are mismatched.
If that doesn't work out, since its not an easy task, I'm also looking at alternative way of solving the issue with virtual keymapping... just haven't had time to sit down and set it up.

I hate xt9 so I don't use it. The predictive suggestions of WM6 typing is better IMO.

But yeah, this ROM is kickass. Totally stable and fast. Much better than the Wing 2.3 I was using.

PDAVIET based their Rom on the Stock TMO Wing Rom, using the wings drivers... same way that OpenTouch and CleanRom are able to make Rom's that work correctly on the Wing.... the Wing is the oddball, because most other HTC devices have the same keyboard.

David explained me that the wing keyboard.dll only works for wingrom based cooked rom....

The keybddr.dll files controls the open/closing of the keyboard ie: screen orientation as well as the keys on the keyboard themselves... that's why when touch 4 rom for the wing was cook, changing only the keybddr.dll file, the screen wouldn't rotate and the keys wouldn't work.

The keybddr.dll file sizes are different between both roms.

Herald : 92kb
Wing : 91 kb

So they aren't interchangeable. DLL files only include functions, which are called by the executable files... and by changing the files, the functions don't match up to the same call numbers as the old one, which in turn makes those functions stop working altogether.

EDIT: Nevermind... Just disabled it in today settings, then re-enable and all is ok now!

This is a great rom, and the task manager from BatteryStatus seems way better than the one from HTC!

not a issue with me, my bootsequence is not slower at all when using this rom, but I got p4350, you got wing....it just show the supremacy of p4350 :)

i am using p4350 and i have noticed booting time difference too but then what the heck... main performance which matters is after boot performance, which is awsome.

i am though receiving errors in playing videos recorded by camera. media player gives some missing filter error. though video player is able to play those files.

This rom is great, but I still think that there's a memory leak or something like that, because after a day of use I get about 16/17mb of free program memory only :(

uupppps. no never ahd this problem. and your programs are really closed? try to use hibernate to get memory back.

That's the first thing I do after a Hard-Reset or rom upgrade :D
The problem isn't at booting... I know that in that case I have to wait a few moments! The problem is after about 24h of use and with all programs closed!

not facing this memory leak issue after even 48 hrs of usage. usually available memory is around 22 to 23 mb even if I laaunch cube after boot and then check memory.

The only thing that bugs me is that using the lock button in HTC Home applications tab, the today screen doesn't revert to the clock tab unless I turn off screen or if I click twice in the left softkey like if I was going to unlock :(

If I install another version of HTC Home, like the one from shen, this doesn't occur, but then I get the weather images twice in my storage memory because schen's version installs weather pics and cities xml in \HTCHome :(

Yeah, pretty damn sweet. I could use it for hours and everytime I close everything, I always have at least 22 and a half megs. Almost 24 and a half after hibernation. Fantastic job.

I thought in data corruption too and even tried to change the file omap850_sdhc.dll, that, accordind to a thread at MoDaCo foruns, seems to be responsible for these soft loops, but the weirdest thing is that if disable task manager in BS the soft loop stops :confused:

Well, the only problem is that I'm a stubborn guy so... Formated my SD Card, downloaded BS from the author's page and installed it over the one you cooked in this rom :p

Going to soft-reset a few times to see how it goes :D

a BT headset usually dont have support for a2dp, stereo music. the bt device is not configured for recieving music signals. only to work with communication. but maybe someone with more knowlege can correct me if im wrong.

The IMEI Check website will supposedly unlock your phone, but it costs money... and I've heard all sorts of things about them... good and bad.

If you have Tmobile, you can call them up and tell them you are going out of the country and need to unlock your phone.. they'll ask you to give them your IMEI number and a few weeks later, they'll email you the code to unlock it. I have yet to try this, but I need to, since I'm going to Europe this summer... So I'm going to call them soon and try to see if this works and I'll report.

I know that. I was asking if there were any alternate skins for the dialer because I don't really like how flat the default dialer looks. I also saw the hacks but I wasn't sure if there were any others that he didn't list or not. That's why I asked. I am planning on doing some reg hacks that I had done to my device before I installed the ROM, but before I did any of them, I wanted to see all the hacks that were done within the ROM. Sorry if I didn't really explain that as well as I could have in my first reply.

Calm down. I was asking because I know there are a huge array of skins on this site and on PPCGeeks.com but I couldn't find one for the "dual" dialer (so yea, I did search both forums and tried a few skins before posting here. I try not to bother people in forums with irrelevant questions). The skins I installed didn't work. My dialer kept coming up with white outlines where the buttons SHOULD be, but I was still seeing my today screen through the outlines... no numbers or anything so they obviously weren't compatible. I posted the question here because I figured that he ROM author would be able to help me with this or at least point me in the right directions. I don't really want to install a completely new dialer if I don't have to, so if you or anyone else can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

My device isnt syncing. Cant be found. I noticed this after the hard SPL. Not a big deal because I normally just throw my cabs on a SD card to install. But I figured I would ask, has anyone else had this problem? Is it from the Hard SPL? Any guess on fixing it?

One last question since I didn't know where to go for this one. When I installed the ROM my left soft key was to the organizer by default. Included in the rom was the soft key change, I did that so I could change my right soft key and in turn it changed my left soft key as well. I wanna get it back to the organizer but that isn't showing up in the list of available paths. Is there another way to do this? Maybe in the registry or something? (I am asking here because the organizer was set by default to the left soft key so I am assuming the ROM author would know how to fix my issue quick... or hoping he will hahah)

the Rom is definetly faster than v3.0

that weird "X" button activating the right soft key seems to have gone.


Strange I just installed this kicking new ROM, but I everytime I click on the "X" button to close an app, I activate the right soft key or get no response.

I've ALIGNed the screen multiple times to no avail.
Anyone know the fix to this annoying bug?

Try redownloading the file and reinstalling it if you maybe installed an older version. If not you can download this version of X BUTTON (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=65158&d=1199822817) which will work

duprade, I installed the 4.41 Lite Version. I will try this version again. If that does not work I will try the 4.40 version. Either way I will report back. This is such a great forum with great people pitching in!

I have installed the ROM third time and monitored my Dopod C800 for a day to dig more on the Time Zone resetting issue. Looks like even without any Active Sync setup, the TZ gets reset to GMT + 1 every hour or so. Can someone please confirm if they are also observing this behavior? FYI, I am from India and the TZ here is GMT + 530 New Delhi.

Opera mini still keeps asking for permission to use the network, I'm with T-mobile, are there anything else I could do to make opera mini stop its harassment?

Second:

A continue reset loop when soft reset, and I can't modified the file omap_850-sdch.dll that causes it because now this file is on ROM.

Tried and It worked! I must say I am a newb to flashing and this ws the first time I tried flashing. I am soo excited at the way my phone looks and feels now. Thanks to ITJE!! And thanx papamopps for the quick tips!. I had to try a couple o times before the white flash screen came up and then it ws done in no time..!
One thing I saw (I am using this on my TMob Wing)
1. Open the Phone to see the physical keyboard, The screen automatically switches to landscape.
2. Now if you press the softkey that switches landscape to portrait, it switches properly.
3. Press it again, It switches to landscape but rotated by 180 deg.

Anyone seeing the same behavior? or is it just me?

I have noticed this problem too, because I have the same problem. Take the SD card out, soft reset... once the device gets back running, soft reset it again, wait till the device loads again then insert the card, let the driver load and try soft resetting. I noticed that after doing that a couple of times it started booting up normally.

We definitely need to see if ITJE can correct that file not being in the Rom in future versions to avoid this problem.

What types of problems? The only problem that I've seen with MMS is if they're coming in small... which there's the WSPHeader.cab fix for ....but apart from that mine work OK.

Yea, I always have MMS issues after install any of the Touch-IT ROMs. Here is a .cab fix for it tho. Just install and then soft reset! :)

I installed the MMS than the Network Customizations cab... I don't know if the order matters or not.

Well theres still an apparent issue with MMS. I just tried to have a buddy on tmobile network send me a pic from his MDA and its not coming through either.

At least tmobile is recognizing im not getting it so it tried again everytime i softreset, but its still kind of annoying.

I just loaded 4.4 on my Wing. Everything appears to be working fine except vista is not detecting the phone. I can hear it chime when the phone is connected but nothing happens. Battery Status icon changes from the battery to a power cable. So i know there is a physical connection. I have tried different USB ports and cables no change.

It syncs perfectly when i reboot into XP and use Active Sync.

I am still searching threads on this but if anyone can provide some assistance it would be greatly appreciated.

I did some more digging and found that someone had removed and reinstalled WMDC this solution worked for me as well.

Dig around the Microsoft website for a driver update to WMDC. That's what I had to do to get Vista to see my phone even when I had the stock T-Mo rom.

I had a problem where I would get an error when trying to HardSPL. I spent a few hours trying to get it to work and it would error every time... and What worked for me was uninstalling Activesync, and downloading a new version of it from Microsoft.

4. Lastly, when overclocking is there anything I should know? I have seen alot of 273 mhz, and I see its by intelligent members here, so I am assuming its not gonna fry the unit. Any custom settings to that?

becuase the file for calendar is name d"calendar.exe" in rom. But softkeychanger wants it to be called "HTCcalendar.exe" just use a registryeditor to edit following:

hkcu\software\microsoft\today\keys\112
and edit the open=calendar.exe

or maybe [HKLM] try to find.

THAT´s what all wnated to have in 3 month ago and now everybody is sick of it - haha. Yes it slows down and there are several threads discussing if it is usefull or not. decide by your own

It is an older version of HTC Home - because the new wasn´t customizable by start-settings-today and neither with HHC...

The Kaiser.. Go and install that one...

Then you will have your scrollbar below the huge Clock :D

1. Tapp the screen twice and press Play again.

Hi everybody,

Here my first post.
First thanks to everybody working on the TouchIt.

After a lot of reading and learning I managed to get the TouchIt working.
First the HARDSPL and then the TouchIt RUU.

It looks that everything is working and I'm happy about it.

The only issue that I encouter is the following:
- When I change the contact mode to PocketCM and I would like to open my contact list I recieve an error message stating "PocketCM cannot be opened..."
- I reinstalled TouchIt and the problem stays.

Can I resolve this litle problem? And maybe a stupid question, but what does the PocketCM do?

Looking forward reciving comments, and keep up the good work here ;-)

The reason you facing this problem is that PocketCM is not deliverd with Touch-IT 4.4.
You have two options to use PocketCM either you get the .cab file and install it regular or
you download the .zip version and extract the files into the \windows\ directory of your Herald.
If you choose last you have the ability to change the Contact manager within Romsettings to your likings.

Greets,You might like it more with other, much much nicer skins, the only problem is that version 0.19 was just released and not many skins were updated to the new version. 0.18 has allot of nice working skins if you are still interested. the basic skins truly s....
