HI all,
Having spent the past 3 hours tralling the forums ( my head is about to explode with all the info) I wondered if I could get some confirmation of some questions i (think ) have found the answers for.
please dont flame LOL
you can only dump the orange junk by reflashing the rom ?
there are issue with the parrot minikit ( speakerphone) with wm6 so if i prefer to stay wm5 it is best to use the htc rom ( though i may have to upgrade the radio rom) ?
for a simple phone user - phone, txt, gps, office etc is there any real benefit in upgrading to wm6? is it much fater and stable?
does anyone know of a simple rom with just the most basics of apps ( so I can then add my own later)
Many many thanks in advance I am amazed with the depth of knowledge floating around on here

3 hours is nothing. 3 years would be just fine. Seriously.

Burn!
>you can only dump the orange junk by reflashing the rom ?
No (I think so), but it's a lot of work. I think. Easier just to reflash.

I have no issues.

No.

Vanila Roms are like that. I think.

Upgrade to WM6 and get rid of the customization from Orange -well worth it.
If you don't really want to update just yet, another way to get rid of some of the customization is by performing a Hard Reset, after you align the screen when it first starts there will be a pop-up that customization will start in 3 seconds. Soft Reset the device before it starts and the items from the extended Rom - by orange will no copy.

The Orange settings are Orange UK by rabdo v1.6 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1502802&postcount=105) though you should only need them WHEN you upgrade to WM6 ;)
Take the plunge, update - its really easy to do and you wont regret it. :D

Guys,
If I am correct when i do the hard/soft reset i am dumping the external rom?
can i then unhide the external rom and run the cabs I want manually?
if that is the case how do I
a) un hide the rom
b) choose what to keep and what to not load.
when i can un hide the ext rom i can list the cabs available to load so i can ask you guys help
many thanks in advance

Guys,
If I am correct when i do the hard/soft reset i am dumping the external rom? No, Just preventing the items in the ROM from loading until the next hard reset, then you'll have to do the 3 second trick again.
