Ok as the heading stated we just need some people to test this radio especially if they have another device with built in Radio.

I Have managed to extract it from a Polaris Rom and compiled it into a cab.

So far it install ok [ Multimedia Folder] When activated it ask for headset to be plugged in [ this is why I believe its has to do with the Headset ] But nothing happens when the kaiser headset is plugged in.

Hi,
tested without hands free, got please insert FM antenna.

Inserted the Artemis Hands free Kit. Then nothing, no warning and the App would not lauch. Any ideas?

I can borrow a HF kit for the next 50 mins or so.

I will have another run through the registries to see if I can find anything else regarding he radio. Someone told me its the same with some other phone, that the tuner is build it the headset so I feel 85% that this coulld work for the kaiser with the same headset as the polaris

Having read the thread the both use the same chipset and no-one can see an extra chip for FM. It's way above my head though. :D. I imagine you need to get the radio to recognise the antenna and all should work... Dutty...?

I've got a little different reaction to what you guys have got. I installed the app, restarted, ran the program, I got the insert headset error. Insterted the headset, ran the app, no error, but the app did'nt open either. Disconnected headset, ran app once again, error appeared again. Connected the headst again, no error, but clicking on the app does'nt do anythnig. Are we missing some files?

Just an FYI...In logging the registry FMRadio.exe is looking to querry HKLM/Headset and returns "not found" for the key.

Thats excelent news methinks. That means there might be a problem with the cab. And since I experienced the same thing on my Kiaser we still might have hope. Can somebody try this on a Polaris(Touch Cruise) and see if it works?

I also think we need the polaris radio on our Kaisers for it to work... It seems so many apps such as the camera and other are now linked to the radio ROM with the new 7200 chips we have. If you look at the specs only some parts of the chip are controled with the OS.nb and other parts are controled by the Radio.nb :) hopefully there is no extra hardware needed so lets cross are fingers :) Great work dutty!!

this may be random....but a few years back, i hada motorola , i purchased a 75dalla hands free kit.

with out it my phone didnt have am.fm capabilities.....with it it did.

guys i believe the radio from polaris will work on kaiser. midget flashed a kaiser radio to his touch dual and well it didnt brake anything besides the sim lock making the phone locked to another carrier so he couldn't use it :p

Tried with Dutty's cab and also with extracted one from Polaris. The same results - not working. One question: inside FMradio.exe and FMS.dll and fms_api.dll are many other dll libraries enumerated. But in cab there are only few of them. Is it enough to make radio working?

ok i upgraded from radio 11 to radio 17 and still nothing, but what i noticed is that when i installed the htc radio cab, ther was nothing in the installation folder, where did all the program files go? where is the htc radio .exe? any input?

Tested the app with a headset from an Excalibur (S620). It displays the message if the headset is not plugged in, but the app doesn't start either way.

Where did you find this INFO? I have found that the polaris uses 2.0 bluetooth not 2.1 so I am very interested in where you found such detailed chip specs? I have googled the shit out of this and found no detailed chip specs.

As somebody who has been waiting for FM on the Kaiser to happen, I was rivited reading this thread. Almost like a movie thriller:

Wow how totally embarrising, pathetic and attention seeker.

I am appalled by such actions. Its not that I cannot take a joke if this user had said so after a couple of posts, then okay why not, but to take it this far surely goes against the forums code in some way.

I really do appreciate the work being done here and my Kaiser runs extremely well thanks to all the hard work put in. This user simply makes a mockery of the whole thing.

Anyway just my 2 cents worth
