Will this work?

nopz there is no way to increase RAM through Memory Card, but it gives me an idea of Virtual Memory.
Any thoughts?

Virtual memory is where I was leaning too. A picture edit program I seen uses this to edit large files. Memory cards are getting faster and faster. Now I'm looking for some virtual mem for my Hermes. ;)

Gotta remember the flash memory used in memory cards does have a read/write lifetime......virtual memory is used repeatedly many many times and would probably lessen the lifetime of your flash memory.
I dunno what the bandwidth is on hardwired ROM/RAM in the Hermes but id take a guess its alot higher than that used on microSD????
Would be interesting to see if a virtual memory driver would be any good?!

dont believe that a driver would be enough
the core of the os would have to support it
another thing to take into acount is that sd are getting faster
but the sd interface of the pda cant keep up
and writes are much slower then reads with flash

That's true with interface speed. I guess if it were possible we'd have a program that uses the Ext Rom 10mb for Virtual. Would be interesting though.

In Task Manager supplied with Schaps 4.30 ROM, there is a mention of Virtual Memory.... What's that?

That's just the Virtual Ram from the built in RAM. I'm looking for a way to utilize the 10mb Ext Rom or even the Storage card for this. The 10mb Ext Rom would be the best thing if you could use it, since the communication between the chipset and the Ext Rom would be quicker than that of the Storage Card. I'm starting to think it isn't going to happen though.
