View Full Version : Is Voice Command Still in the Dutty Roms?

I have the dutty hybrid 2 tilt touchflo rom (or something to that effect).

I can't seem to find the "voice command" software that is bundled with Windows mobile 6. Was it removed or can I just not find it for some reason?

I looked through Dutty's changes and don't see that it was removed, nor do I see it mentioned that it was included.

Anyone have a way to "re install" it if it was removed?

Any help or direction would be appreciated. Did not see it when searching forum.

I'm not sure if it is in the rom you are talking about, I know he left out of his new v3 rom. It's not big deal to add just download the cab. and install it.

This is the link to dutty's downloads if you look under cab files it is included there.

the only thing I could find under the CAB files was the Cyberon voice commander. My understanding was that mobile 6 came with VOICE COMMAND embedded.

Is this available on a CAB and is the Cyberon Voice commander the same thing or a similar item.

The Microsoft Voice Command v1.6 is NOT bundled with any windows mobile program, you have to buy that separtely. What it is included with most of the rom is the voice dialer. Cyberon Voice Command was included at one point in Dutty's ROM but it was taken out because it is a software that needs to be brought (license/copyright thing). So he took it out to be safe.

Do a search on this site and then do a search IN the thread and you'll find some answers on using Voice Command v1.6 (v1.5 do not work with the Tilt)

Where can I found voice dialer? I don't believe it is in V 3.

I can see why Dutty isn't including the version he had access to. I can't get the thing to launch from an assigned button and it always gives an "error" messae, though I can launch from the start menu.

The thing works intermittenlty at best. I may pay for the microsoft version and just suck it up.

Again, just seemed that Microsoft eluded to the fact that it was included with Mobile 6. However, that is what I get for trusting "the man!"

See this post as I have links for various versions of MS Voice Command in here.

I actually have a 1.6 version of the UK version. I just need to upload it and update this post (will try to do that in a few hours).

ok, now I'm curious, where about did you read that it is included as part of Mobile 6?

I guess my thinking it was included was 1) eluded to by my tech guy and 2) eluded to by a post or two on blogs when I googled the term.

However, when I look at the "official microsoft info" you are correct, it IS NOT included.

Once again, I was HOPING that microsoft wasnt going to be in my pocket yet again, but alas, they are if I want this software ! CRAP!

lol but wait, aren't you running wm6 already on the tilt? so it is already 'in' your pocket :) unless you are running the tilt/kaiser tytn II on a linus or mac version, you just can't run away :)

there's a good interview with Bill Gates that was posted at Gizmodo.com when they were there at CES 2008, I think I'm liking Bill more and know how sincere he is, he even said that Windows needs a lot of improvement (or to paraphrase him, Windows sucks). :)

Sorry I haven't. Have been working an upgrade all weekend and my hotel shuts my net access down if I do too much net traffic. I'll look at moving this file when I get to the office in about an hour.

I do not believe there is an actual one that will work 100% off the bat, I've tested 3 of Dutty's ROM (Tilt Beta 2, 6b, and the 2.0 fixed) none of them works without doing the fix.

The fix is located on a link at dutty's v3 rom thread, there should be a link to a zip file, basially, you unzip the file and copy 3 of the files into the windows folder and 1 to the program files\voice command folder. (make sure voice command is not enabled -> settings->personal->voice command) and soft-reset then do the copies, soft reset, and enable it, then once more soft-reset.

I've tried not using the fix and it never worked, so the fix does the job. With the 'fix' I can have it announce to me when someone calls (either through the speaker or bluetooth) and more.

Hope this help.
