Can't you do anything for the sound quality, it sucks big time. It used to sound great with WM5 but now it sounds like some cheap Chinese MP3 player. No matter which head/ear phones u use it sucks. Is it possible to use the WM5 dll's with this one.

Also u have bundled up softwares like equalizer & Headphone volume limiter but they seems like they are working [not responding to any changes]. Do let me know as i'm reverting back to WM5 in a day or two. As without good quality music life sucks............

i´ve flashed my rw6815 about 10 times:) and always done what m8´s say in forum and realise that if i install that cab 68xx emul my ppc freezes a lot, so i decide not to install that cab, only sdkcerts and the camera patch and everithing works ok.
i get two cameras, one atom camera and old hpcamera, but only atom camera works .

the rom is stable except some functions don´t work, as fm radio, o2sms plus.

- bluetooth connection w/ Plantronics headhphone was not stable

Just upgrade to 1.05a (10mins ago)

...And i've replaced just now 4PDA version 'cause this 1.05b freeze, and there are too many programs (and icons) that i don't like it.

Ohhh, I think I know your problem ;)
Now you need download version flash via PC.
Have two ways for you choose :
1. You should flash via PC, and choose "OS + ExtROM"
2. Extract ROM flash via PC, then rename ExtendedRom.img to extended.img and copy to miniSD card. Go to BLoader and wait 10 min.

You must choose one method above :p

But i found some bugs on my rw6815 within 5 minutes...:)

1. Photosmart Camera didn't work.
2. Spb Plus 4 couldn't install via PC but could from SD. But its not work both.

Now you can't flash rom via miniSD.
You should connect your device to PC. And flash OS only...
Then you can flash entended.img via miniSD again.

finally i've tried this release...

- still only 49mb ram like in older wm6 rom version i had
- more stable, now testing the battery life
- lots of usefull apps, but Czech Republic is missing in network wizard (maybe in next version ;) )
- i think that camera quality isn't very good, but i tried it with bad light conditions so i'll see tomorrow

i don't know how is it possible, but yesteraday evening I charged my pda(with 1.05b rom) at 95% battery and in morning i couldn't believe my eyes! there was only 60%!!!

how is it possible? could switching off battery tweaks that are included in this rom help???

Do you mean 49,9mb ram free or 49,9mb ram total ?
And 49,9mb ram or 49,9mb storage ?

Because If you have 6MB PP, you'll have 52MB ram total and 58 MB storage total.

The version 1.05b I use XIP of HP, not XIP of ATOM... but only when I use HP XIP, the camera of 6815 work...
I've test on 6815 and no have any problem.. My storage is 58MB not 4xMB same you.

May be... You should take careful, because flash Bloader so risky...
Use Bloader file I've attach below copy and replace original file, and use DSUU choose "OS + Eboot". Goodluck !!!

Bootloader same the BIOS of PC... If BL not work, your PPC will not work.
If BL dead, you only restore it by JTAG method...
But if you follow the introduce, it's not so risky.

i´ve read the all the posts and no one seems to have the same problem as i´m, only AIRONE had at begining. should i follow the steps you suggested AIRONE to downgrade the bl? or is it safer to do with DSUU?

My 6818 flashed to 1.05a and my blue tooth stereo OMIZ 5670 works fine except that I can pause but cannot resume play

Anyway, this firmware is stable and working fine.

After install and running for few days finally found a problem here i.e WM5storage cant activate. It says something about running on storage card,plugins or something like that but nothing running here.
I install Softstick Export and running fine, but WM5torage still cant activate. Does anyone experience this phenomena?

so, u formatted the SD card, and copy just the .nb0 file, then went into bootloader mode with the card inserted, and it stayed there for 3 hours...still in that BL screen and nothing happens?

I just flash new rom to my rw6828 it very fast but I have a little problem I canot
change keyboard layout to Thai key board. I try to install Resco Keyboard and Thai Wince Keyboard. When I select another Keyboard to type message notthing happen. How can I fix this problem and finally Thank you for your new version of rom .

You should buy a 128MB minisd card, because the 64MB have real size smaller than 64MB but ROM is exactly 64MB...

Q1) Do i still need to downgrade my bootloader ?
Q2) Will i be able to Flash this and the language will change to English ?
Q3) Is there any other way to flash English language into this phone ?

I downloaded version 1.04 but whenever i try to flash it just hangs on wait checking your phone for a long time without actually doing anything ,, so i am wondering what am i doing wrong .. I extracted allthe file directly into C:/windows/temp

Please guide me where am i going wrong and explain how i can successfully flash the right ROM into this phone and have English Language ,,

Hai you try to download minisd version. after you download, you extract and copy in to your minsd. once finish you keep mini sd into your pda hold two "-" keys and press reset button. wait for 10 mins. Same time you can see HP screen. after that system will reset and it will load WM6. same way i tried my phone and my friend's.

I'm not test it. But I've add minisdhc module in this ROM.

I'm reporting that I can use 4GB Kingston miniSDHC with no problem.
I can play vdo file from the card and it seems running smoother compared to 1GB PRETEC.

I have not tried to flash ROM from this new card yet. I will try when ver. 2.01 releases.

The version 1.05b I use XIP of HP, not XIP of ATOM... but only when I use HP XIP, the camera of 6815 work...
I've test on 6815 and no have any problem.. My storage is 58MB not 4xMB same you.

Thanks NHOCBANME for the WM6, I like the 1.04 version best, the 1.05 is really good also but a little bit slow for my taste.
The only thing I find missing for the WM6 is the "TODAY PANEL" the one that shows the battery, memory and space left from miniSD and internal, do you know any utility that will do that?, not looking for anything too fancy.

Yes, you can use BL 1.0.5 to upgrade ROM via miniSD.
BL 1.0.5 sometimes can't flash via PC, but BL 1.0.1 alway can... that's all i know !!!

use mini sd and format it with FAT and now you don't need to downgrade your boot loader.

Hey guys, after uprom for many time. Now, I face the problem that I cannot go to BL coz. I tried to up a new rom but the battery was run out and My 6828 was not respond.

I tried to remove batt and putin & put 2 soft keys with press soft reset and it doesn't work.

Yes, this also happened to me, you have to configure it manually.
You need to contact your mobile operator or service provider so they can tell you the settings. For me I found them on their web page, I don't know if you'll get that lucky...

To make a new connection go to: Start > Settings > Connections > Connections

You need to add a New Modem Connection, add any name, select cellular Line (GPRS), Access Point Name (provided by your carrier), User name, password and domain...

Hi all,

I'm from Hong Kong and holding a RW6818.
LAst few day when i start to upgrade the official rom from HP. The process stuck and crash. After that, my 6818 is only goes into a white screen mode, with BL1.0.5 ( I guess is bootlodaer version) and never works again.

After reading this thread, i tired 3 different way to get my 6818 works, but no luck at all

1.) Download HP SP34054 (CHT Version) and want to downgrade my 6818 to 1.0.1. But everytime is stop at 75% for a long long time......

2.) I tried to d/l 1.05a and 1.05b, both update until 81% and stop for a long long time.....

3.) Tried to use miniSD upgrade method, but the screen keep flashing on every 5~10 min, still keeping on the white screen seems nothing happen.

Sorry for my long post and poor english.

Please help to give me some hints and procedure to work it out.

You must remove and insert the battery as instructed. Pressing both the keys without letting go. That'll reset it totally. I tried mine. It works. Rescued my phone from dead.

Give it a go, reset it and try it again.

i get it from the first page for miniSD flash.
I formatted the miniSD in FAT32 , and copy the diskimg.nb0 into the root of the miniSD. That's all. Is that i missing anything or wrong steps ?

OK. Have you tried any sw that uses IR? Like Vito Remote (for example). Just to check if the problem is relative to the Beam or to the IR device.

BT is still kinda slow (internet passthrough)
A2DP is still skipping after a few minutes
BT head working without skipping
BT keyboard OK
IR working (tested sending with nokia)
Iconless EXE doesnt refresh anymore in file explorer like in 1.05a
Camera is ok
Sound is still too low, fixable by using SRS WOW (please include this in ROM)
Network Configuration wizard is not included

I figure my situation now is that.

Since i crash on my first time to upgrade the official 6800 from HP site.
And i hv tried Via miniSD and PC for both 1.05a/b and 1.04b, but all stop on 81%.
I try again to upgrade the official again, and i found out the before i start it, some information show me that only the bootloader is still not update from 1.0.5 to 1.00.05 (as attached)

I think all my parts is already updated except the bootloader.

Is there any method to flash only the bootloader ?

I formated the Minisd card as FAT32 and copyed file in. when I come into BL mode, the bottom of the screen is "please format the card..." I reset it but the screen is black.
and after that i can't boot the machine in anyway.

I used the HEXEDIT and saved it. 65,536,012 should be 65,536,000, I copyed the orginal file size.:p

Also Recorder is acting up, its like refreshing every .5 secs doesnt allow you to play a recorded message.
