Just to let everyone know... There is some cocksucker bottom feeder out there that has a virus/malware/adware link to outerinfo.com on their website. I dont know if it is deliberate or not.

I was just spending this Saturday morning with my 2 sons. They were watching cartoons and I was surfing the xda site for a SIP for my 8525. Anyway, I must have followed someones link to a secondary site for their app or review or something and picked up this fucking piece of shit on my laptop. It brought a 2.4ghz 1g ram Dell to its knees.

Let me tell you, if I could re-trace my steps this morning and pinpoint exactly where I picked it up I would.

I'm currently running a full scan with Symantec and will probably do a full re-install of xp just to be sure.

BY NO MEANS do I believe I picked this up from xda or any reputable members site etc. It just shows you that we live in a dangerous world. Even with all the safeguards in place, some low-life bottom feeder, probably pedofile, scumbag will always hide behind his isp in his world and try to harm others.

Yes, I'm a little p-oed about it.

Mods- Please dont ban me for flaming. Its just a reminder to everyone that you always need to keep your guard up. Also, please advise if this is not the correct forum to place this in.

I'm out.

if you use spybot search & destroy (free software), or any other spyware protection program, you will never have any problem with this site. it's already blocked years ago.

Running Ad-Aware + Symantec 10. Malicious code got through and installed outerinfo. Live and learn...

All better now... ;-)

Well i will suggest one thing - dont use any Symantec crap, viruses come in and got out without any detection of the symantec antivirus or firewall software. I personally use Kaspersky Antivirus and I don't have any problems with viruses and spyware

Ya I saw that... It reported a 618MB install on "Add remove programs".

I wiped the HD and re-installed XP. I had duplicates of every process running with a space in the name. It was pretty nasty.

There is no way to re-trace the steps.

It just p'ssed me off a little.

Xplode- Thanks for the reco for Kaspersky. Its pretty hard core.

It installs with the screws so tight, firefox is having problems. I really like the white list for processes.

Have one on me.
