One of the first accessories I like to buy for any new device I get is a replacement (fits in OEM silo) Pen stylus. I know the Touch Cruise is new, but has anyone seen any stylii that are pens and fit in the device?

TIA!

Hi - the TC comes with a spare or Expansys(UK) are selling some here:
http://www.expansys.com/a.aspx?i=159608&atype=Stylii

Though showing estimate delivery of 9 days from today...

Thanks for the reply. However, I am looking for a combination pen-stylus that fits into the existing silo slot of the Cruise. The link you provided was for stock replacement stylus which is not a pen.

doubt you will find one, the size of the stylus on the touch cruise would surely be too small to fit a combination pen/stylus

Is such a stylus available for the Artemis? If so then it would NOT fit the Touch Cruise because the bit of black plastic at the end is a different shape but it would demonstrate that such a thing is possible because the overall dimensions of the two styli are identical. (I just slid my Artemis stylus into my Touch cruise and the diameter fits perfectly, the overall lengths are identical, and the only reason the Artemis stylus won't push fully into the TC is because the plastic bit at the end is longer relative to the overall stylus length compared to the TC stylus so it fouls the edge just at the last 5mm or so of travel into the device.)

haven't got mine at the moment but how thick is the stylus? 2mm, cant see how a mechanism for a 3 in 1 would fit in such a size

Definitely bigger than 2mm. I just held it up against a tape measure and the diameter looks to be just a shade over 3mm, probably about 3.2mm.

still think its not thick enough even at 4 mm, have you ever seen anything like this that is less than 1cm+

I have gotten (in the past) a 3-in-1 for every device I have had except for the collapsible KJAM stylus. One will become available for the Polaris. The stylus is not that much different from other devices.

Re my previous message, this will almost certainly NOT fully push home into the receiver on a TC (because of the different profile of the black plastic thing on the end) but it IS an existence proof that such a device is possible within the form factor of a TC stylus.

That's what we need. I am sure some US distributors will pick this up soon. HTC just needs to get the damn device out there in more quantities.

Ouch. I love my pen-stylus combo's but not for 60 bucks. I'll wait 'til a US distributor comes along.

If an Orbit 2 stylus is the same as an Orbit 1 then no, the Polaris stylus will not push home fully into the Orbit housing. Read my previous posts in this thread (including the one on page 1 of the thread) for details. If Orbit 2 stylus is different to Orbit 1 then I don't know.

I can confirm that:-
- You CAN get combined stylus/pen for Orbit 1.
- Orbit 2 stylus IS different from Orbit 1 stylus (not interchangeable).

No doubt combi stylus/pens will become available for the Orbit 2.

No, I believe they are saying Artemis stylus is different to Polaris stylus. (Orbit 1 - Artemis / Orbit 2 - Polaris [or even Touch Cruise :P]).

DO NOT BUY if you want a 3in1 stylus. I did and it does not include the pen!!!

My email to Easydevices was, (For clarification);

Dear EasyDevices,

I received my shipment yesterday, thanks for making it so quick. I am rather perplexed though, I wanted a 3in1 stylus......Pen, Stylus and reset pin......Your description on the website;

HTC TOUCH CRUISE STYLUS - 3 PACK
Three pack of styli for your HTC Touch Cruise. These have 3 functions with 3-in-1 pen

The website;
http://www.easydevices.co.uk/pp/HTC_Accessories/HTC_Touch_Cruise/HTC_TOUCH_CRUISE_STYLUS_-_3_PACK.html

It is not a pen!!

What is the 3in1 bit?

Just got mine today, I can confirm that they are just rather cheap and nasty styluses. The description on the back of the pack actually says "It integrates pen and stylus into one". Only if you dip it in ink. Looks nothing like the photo on the website, which does have a pen...

Just got an answer:
"Thanks for your email. We have just checked our stock and it appears that
these are 3 in 1. My colleague in stock control has informed me that this
are quite difficult to take the remove the lids of the stylus. If you still
believe that these stylus are incorrect please let me know and I will look
in to getting the stylus returned."

Difficult to remove the lid, there is no lid!

Send the company a picture of the stylus disassembled and demand your money back or at least the correct stylus.

"Thanks for your email, I have just check these stylus myself and I agree
that there is definitely no pen contrary to what I was told by my colleague

will send a SAE for these to be returned."

The right outcome, but still looking for a 3-in-1 stylus!

Hmmm, looks like Proporta have them now:

They are estimating despatch of these on 18/03, they have reasonable worldwide shipping.

They also have a cradle:

I have them now. The 3-in-1 is quite a tight fit but very good, pen works well, high-quality like you would expect. The cradle is an excellent fit, I may well buy another to replace my Artemis one as it's so much better. Both are recommended!

BTW, the cradle is USB-powered only, so you either need to use your existing power lead or buy one of the AC travel chargers (http://proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t_id=3107&t_mode=des) with it.

I don't see how that relates to the cradle. The cradle comes with a USB cable, and USB and mains connectors. The easiest way is to use your existing AC cable or connect to a PC/Laptop - nothing required. But if you want to connect to the mains otherwise, buying the AC Adapter from Proporta allows that.

Hi Rickgillyon,

I personally want to use my charger, I do notwant to buy a travel usb charger for ~£10. I can buy a connector/adapter for £1-2.

I also want to connect my cradle into a 3in1 adapter
http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=161656

I can then use my cradle as a phoneat work through my speakers, without taking it out of the cradle. I use mymobile.

There are many reasons to buy this, I hope this helps,
Kind Regards,
Will

rickgillyon

You won't need a converter for that, one of the cradle ports is MiniUSB so your existing charger will work without modification.

Hello!

The 3in1s arrived this morning, so the shop is working very fast.

The stylus are of good quality, one end you can screw off to have a reset-pin, the other end you can pull off the cab so there is the stylus.

It fits to the orbit ii but not perfect.
So, for me its ok.
Have a look at my pictures.

Is that the one you linked to in your previous post? If it is, that was advertised as a being made for the Orbit 2, and yet it doesn't fit? I would demand a refund.

I wrote it does not fit perfect.
As you can see on my picture, it does not follow the "curve" of the housing of the Orbit II.

If you would not know the original stylus, you could think it is mades this way to make it more easy to pull the stylus out.

Pulling out and pushing in is as good as with the original one.

i understand, and if you are happy with it that's fine. However, the company should not advertise the stylus as being for the Orbit II if it doesn't fit like the OEM stylus.
