Found on UTStarcom site:

select carrier VerizonWireless (only option) then click downloads tab.

I second that question. What exectly does this fix, fix?

I am looking to get an XV6800 when I switch to Verizon next week for work. Any heads up on what the fix is for would be nice.

Verizon XV-6800 Maintenance Release
This software update (cab file) corrects the following issue:
• Fixed onboard QWERTY keypad issue, where the keypad works as if, the function key had been enabled at all times, when using sites like Yahoo Go2 and Windows Live Search as well as with other applications.

mogul had the same problem, i wonder if its really the same fix?

Cool, this happened to me the other day. Thought I was crazy.
