Ultimate Point UI theme for PocketCM

I wanted my theme to look as much as possible as point UI.
you be the judge

The buttons at the bottom are removed. In stead I have 2 buttons at the top of the screen, the left for contactlist/smscontactlist the right for the option-buttons

Not 1 but 2 revised versions, because I like you all so much.

Basiclly they are the same, with 1 difference:
Point UI Black BBF - Has a (point UI) bar at the bottom, which is the old favorite-button
Point UI Black NBBF - Has No Bottom Bar, in stead you can use the area between the other 2 buttons (see image).

Changelog:
- Returned the filter-button (in 2 different ways)
- Adjusted the top right button, it should work better now (it's also a little bit wider)
- Adjusted the dailer, it looks better now
- Changed the contact details top-bar, it now has an extra image

Known issues:
- The dailer sometimes keeps acting annoying
- With the NBBF-version, I can't get rid of the black square when you press the filter-button. It disappears again when you see contacts...

Is this VGA? If not could you adjust it?

I tried to do anthing with relative sizes, but I don't know if it works on VGA, I think some of the images might be out of proportion.

I don't have a VGA-device, so I can't test it...

1 ...by opening and closing the application, it opens in dial modus (Is that a normal behave) here the layout between icons and text does not suit each other

Yes I will, but it is getting harder and harder to create a working skin without bugs...

I don't have those problems, it doesn't open with the dail modus here.

If you have serious problems and can't get to the option screen:

- close pocketCM (use the close running programs in WM5/6)
- rename another theme to point ui.zip

THX for the recommendation, I've already recovery my old skin again (iPhone-ish v2.6) but anyway i must ask you something, where can the user in your skin reach the PocketCM options..??

Normally you have 4 buttons at the bottom:
Favorite, SMS/phone, Filter, Options

Now you have 2 buttons at the top:
The phone on the left = SMS/Phone
The arrow on the right = Options

Press and hold options to see 4 extra buttons:
old contacts
options
close
minimize

Well, this button has always closed the app...and after when I tryed to reopen the app using the key "contacts" came the dialing option as showed.

normally you had to press the options buttons shortly to get the dail and long to minimize/see options

what you properly did was press it short, which opened the dail and then a second time which minimized it.

When you pressed contacts again, you maximized pocketCM and the dail was still open...

What qtek_metanol was trying to tell you is that when you use the virtual button to minimize the app, and reopen it, you'll see PocketCM open with the dialer on ... But the reason is simple... this virtual button is the same as your option button :) (but smaller). In fact, the virtual button is in the right up corner (like if it was the cross) and if you want to use it, you click also on the option button which show the dialer.

I don't think that we can deactivate this virtual button :( so the isue is maybe to move the option button... ?? You're the creative one ;)

What is the virtual button?
Is there normally a button in the upper right corner? I've tested it with the standard theme and no matter how much I pressed there, nothing happened.

The only thing I can think about is the following:

If you "click" (really short) on the upper right corner = dailpad
If you press (less then 400ms) on the right corner = minimize
If you press and hold the upper right corner = option-buttons

Those are all standard with every theme, just the location of the button changed..

I want the theme to work perfect, and it does for me... except for the dailer screen, it's a bit messed up with the green and red, but I never use it...

Ok so we don't have the same isue...

If I click (less than a nanosecond :)) on the right corner : minimise + Dialer
If I press (less then 400ms) on the right corner = minimize + Dialer
If you press and hold the upper right corner = option-buttons

Maybe it's because of my Touch ??

I've tried, maybe you're partly right:

click = dailer or dailer + minimize
press = minimize
press and hold = option-buttons

so the solution for me is to press and not to click

Maybe someone can try to mess around with the timings in settings.ini? I think you can adjust the 400ms and stuff...

For me, I change the place of the dialer/options Button ans put it on the middle of the sreen.

I don't know how pocketCM works on a VGA-screen, but I think most of it should work normally. The only things that could go wrong are images that are misplaced, but as I worked with relative sizes. And defined most images as being a certain amount of pixels from the side...

If you get it working, can you please post some screenshots?

BTW. it sometimes helps if you select the theme, then close pocketCM, then start pocketCM again, else some of the settings don't change...

Is it possible to Scroll like pointui and if you can add a buttom bar (image attached) like pointui for the filter options. also add to the top left corner sms icon (image attached) when you are in contacts with sms view. can you make the phone numbers pad smaller and add a back button to eraser what you had entered. also i cant get out of the phonepad so you need to add a exit button too. contacts with out images to look like pointui guy(image attached). also make it look like this too. (Images attached). i can to the photoshop but i cant do anything with the settings. i dont understand it and it is a pain when you cant see what you are changing. i was asking people if they can make some type of program that can go in to the settings and show what images that are attached, colors, etc. almost like windows mobile theme change. it would make it easier for me to know what i am changing ahead time before i add the theme.

It doesn't really matter how big your contact pictures are, because Windows Mobile all set them to a certain size (I don't know how big).

What does matter is the aspect of your pictures (3:4, 4:3, 16:9, or in my case 1:1).

I just find a nice photo, and crop it to a square, then add it to a contact (in outlook)

But I'll try to implement some of the things you asked.

I don't know if I am the only one but I am having trouble with the theme when in a text message in landscape mode. Currently the blue bar at the top only stretches about 3/4 of the way across and the rest is white. Also while viewing a contact in landscape mode, the arrow in the top left hand corner has a block of white below it that cuts into contact pictures. I'm in between classes right now and don't have time to get a screenshot up, but I will post later, either from my phone or home with some captures to show the problem.

I tend to unzip things. My fault there. Copied the Zip over and it came with the graphics but a few errors. The text on the phone pad is off a little and it seems that there is a graphic or imput out of place. Other than that it seems to work find. Here is a couple of screen captures. I do not know what to change in the ini so if tell me what to change I will try it.

Sorry, "Larger" Contact photo. And the blue release you just made works good. Most commands and confrimation of commands are done in grey. Alphabet seperators are grey. Filter screen is grey.

Doesn't appear to have a confirm button press on sending SMS.

Search by letter on left and right side hard to grab, maybe you could add more pixels.

All in all a great job and an outstanding skin!!!!!

Looks great but I have some issues.

- I can't get the dialpad up but I don't use it anyway.

- Sometimes the dialpad comes up while minimising and vice-versa.

- I cant acces anything other than minimize when pressing and holding the arrow, bigger problem.

This one is better. The phone pad text is off a few pixels. There is a few issues with graphics deeper into the program but is not something I use. I am the VGA person by the way.

I fixed the search index pixels the way i want them for me. I am see the defenitionas at the top of the settings.ini but unaware of what I need to change. Like what numbers and how many stand for what color and what definition it belongs to etc.... Unless I am looking in the wrong place.

Ok, got the black theme you made with the hidden Filter button all turned to Blue for me. Also made the search index buttons a little wider for my thumbs. And it works great!! Thanks for the help!!

I would like to have a little bit larger contact photo in the scroll list. I noticed an area in the settings.ini that appeard to deal with it. Could you tell me what parameters I need to adjust to go bigger?

The hight between 2 lines of the contacts:
contactlist.*.item.height=55p

Pictures settings:
#picture Box
contactlist.*.item.picture.box=-55p,0p,-1p,55p
contactlist.*.item.smscount.box=-55p,-14p,-56p,-1p
contactlist.*.item.picture.smscount.box=-55p,-14p,-56p,-1p

for instance:
button.sendsmsbutton.box=75%,-32p,100%,100%
the position is always: left, top, right, bottom.

left=75% so it's drawn at 75% of the container width (so 180 pixel if the orientation is portrait on a QVGA device)
top=-32p, negative value, means relative to the opposite border, "p" means resolution aware, so it means (320 - 32 = 288px for portrait when SIP is not shown on a QVGA device).
right and bottom: 100% so the edge of the screen.

I made some modifications to your theme which may interest you (like new buttons for option menu ...
And still this fuc**ng dialer in the same place than minimize. As I said yesterday, I put the option/dialer button beetween the two buttons on the top...

I stopped developing this theme, because 0.19 is very different from 0.18 and I have to start over with a new Point UI theme. I'll make a black one, and if I have time a blue one too...
