This is one handy tool, it's a simply program that let you change ALL the operator names inside your phone to whatever you whant. Because it also fix some problems with phones that show the 5 digit ID i tought i share with you all. Works almost on any device ! Cheers

Install to Main Memory and NOT to memorycard !

i don't think it's useless, i used it to put my name on the today screen without the rest of the owner information, i think it's GREAT. i used to try and do it manually through the reg, but it defaulted every soft reset, so this thing is titts for me.

Yeah it's great little tool. I used it because my operator showed the name from the paycards (Pay&Go) and i have a abo, so changed the name to the operator name.

When I uninstall this, my phone gets an error about not being able to run the mortscript. Is the uninstall supposed to delete every instance of the program?

This worked for me, and you can use it even for more than one operator. And it will not be overwriten by the network unless you changed the network.
This is from another forum:

"With a registry editor, found the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\RIL\OperatorNames

Add a string value, the value name must be your "operator code" and the value data your operator name or a customized name.

Just next the operator name that you have chosen, put a space and normally there will be no missing character ...

Here is a link with a list of operator code that I found :

http://www.ioswebdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/12/networks.csv"

I don't have the OperatorNames folder in my RIL folder. The only folder in there is APIInfo. In my RIL folder are also no strings with the name OperatorNames (only Comport, Dataport, LastEquipmentS, RILProxyLogNormal and SMSService).

So do I have to add a Operatornames folder, or will that brick (or any other error) my TC?

Works great for me on my Verizon XV6900 (Touch/Vogue). I use it with the Diamond theme and it hides the "Verizon Wireless" (I replaced it with a " " (space only)).

However, I have one issue, and I have narrowed it down to the personalizer program. Every time I soft reset the device, the HTC home plugin comes back up. I don't use the HTC home plugin, but with every soft reset---it is back. If I remove personalizer from the startup menu, it doesn't happen.

Anyone else see this?

Well, I fixed my own issue by using Memmaid to remove the HTC Home plug-in from the today screen picklist. I'm sure its still there in the ROM, but not available for selection. Still, that was a weird thing to have....

This did not work for me. My current operator name is "UMTS vodafone AU". Do I put the string value as "UMTS vodafone AU " (note the space on the end)?
