i don't think it's useless, i used it to put my name on the today screen without the rest of the owner information, i think it's GREAT. i used to try and do it manually through the reg, but it defaulted every soft reset, so this thing is titts for me.

Yeah it's great little tool. I used it because my operator showed the name from the paycards (Pay&Go) and i have a abo, so changed the name to the operator name.

This worked for me, and you can use it even for more than one operator. And it will not be overwriten by the network unless you changed the network.
This is from another forum:

"With a registry editor, found the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\RIL\OperatorNames

Add a string value, the value name must be your "operator code" and the value data your operator name or a customized name.

Just next the operator name that you have chosen, put a space and normally there will be no missing character ...

Here is a link with a list of operator code that I found :

http://www.ioswebdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/12/networks.csv"

I don't have the OperatorNames folder in my RIL folder. The only folder in there is APIInfo. In my RIL folder are also no strings with the name OperatorNames (only Comport, Dataport, LastEquipmentS, RILProxyLogNormal and SMSService).

So do I have to add a Operatornames folder, or will that brick (or any other error) my TC?

Works great for me on my Verizon XV6900 (Touch/Vogue). I use it with the Diamond theme and it hides the "Verizon Wireless" (I replaced it with a " " (space only)).

However, I have one issue, and I have narrowed it down to the personalizer program. Every time I soft reset the device, the HTC home plugin comes back up. I don't use the HTC home plugin, but with every soft reset---it is back. If I remove personalizer from the startup menu, it doesn't happen.

Anyone else see this?

Well, I fixed my own issue by using Memmaid to remove the HTC Home plug-in from the today screen picklist. I'm sure its still there in the ROM, but not available for selection. Still, that was a weird thing to have....

Hi NP9660 :)

I trie to use your APP but this issue appear when i soft reset my HTC Touch ( ELF0100) whit [ROM] Onyx_ult_4.2

http://shup.com/Shup/108519/Screen01.png

And i talk with " dsixda " and after he take a look suggest this to me " Ask the developer to make a version for roms that already have mortscript built into them. His program tries to install a second version of mortscript in another location, which messes everything up. It would have been a good idea to have a Mortscript Cab and the script-only Cab by themselves. " i put his words in here because my UK is not very good and i donīt want to say anything wrong from him to you :)

So... Is any chance to do what he sugestīs? I like very much your APP.. But doesnīt work in my (ELF0100) :(

Thankīs in advance for any attention form you NP9660

i have a problem with the operator name showing twice@double on the home screen of my Touch HD...i want to eliminate the second string of the Operator Logo...

It now show : "3G CELCOM MY CELCOM 3G"

Before installing a cooked ROM, it only shows "3G CELCOM"...

Will this cab help? Cause i've already tried changing the registry in "HKLM/Software/Microsoft/RIL/Operator Names"... I added a string value 50219="CELCOM", but it still behaves the same way...I even change it to something else, e.g. :

50219="Touch HD" ; the results, it shows "3G Touch HD MY CELCOM 3G"...

So, will this CAB help eliminate the second string of the Operator Name, in my case, 'MY CELCOM 3G' ??? Anybody facing any similar problem like mine???

This One actually seems to work everytime:D!!! GREAT JOB Mate!

Only thing I might have done would be to mention the almost 5+ minute cab install/uninstall time as a warrning to some that may think it has froze up on them.

And lastly, what would make this the BEST, would be to somehow have it display the custom name even with the phone radio turned off:cool:! Is this possible?? Since mine is off a lot of the time, I can't get the WOW factor from other people till I make them wait for the phone to start up, bit of a drag:(.

Stellar work on what it does, and the setup of it;)!
Thanks

Left my phone on the hood of my truck after a call yesterday and drove away from my house. My Tilt flew off into the street down the road. My Tilt has a big skid mark down the side but is otherwise working perfectly ( what a tough phone HTC makes ) Well my company name is Denco ( it is lettered on my truck ) and I used this to put it on my phone. Sure enough an hour later, someone found my phone on the side of the road, remembered seeing my Denco truck in my driveway and returned my phone to me.

Useless ? Not to me.

Well to make a long story short I updated a couple Personalizer scripts so they use less battery. Then I wrote some new scripts which take the script in some new directions.

Personalizer 3.1 - Change operator Name ! Update!

gargon01
23rd December 2009, 04:30 PM
Hi Guys,

Yesterday I installed Personalizer (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=21538) on my HD2. I installed the original 3.1 cab yesterday and all was working well but I noticed that my battery was draining very fast. When I tried to uninstall the app, I get ''Personalizer was not completely removed....'' and the app still remains active in my programs list even after soft reset. Is there any kind of revo uninstaller type app that completely erases an app from the registry and/or is there any way I can remove the app fully without hard resetting the handset?

Thanks in advance

It's just a shortcut link. You can use your File explorer and browse to \Windows\Programs\ and just delete the shortcut there.

I can't remember if I put in the home screen ON for HTC home screens. If you install my update of Personalizer or the feature rich app StatusTicker and don't see your message on the home screen, let me know and I will add your phone.

One of these days I will get around to updating Personalizer so it has the HTC home screen, but it's low on the ToDo list since Personalizer was upgraded to StatusTicker... which is being upgraded all the time.

Found the problem/fix!

1.: Use the Install file to add your Operator name to the "database".
2.: Go to windows/programs/personalizer/
3.: COPY the StartUp file
4.: Go to windows/start/
5.: PAST a shortcut, (NOT FILE)
6.: Reboot the phone

It's fixed :)

It will run even while not being used.

I used to use a good little app - "audionote" - which would highlight on my today screen when I made a recording. I used to make short voice notes as reminder but needed to have the screen alert that I had made a recording.

Could someone explore adapting Personalizer (for changing the operator name) to become an alert for the appearance of a new recording?

Would need to define the specific directory that holds the new files.

I think Personalizer uses mortscript - so, is there a way with this to check a directory for new recordings ? I guess also needed is some time frame. I would suggest some options like new today or new this week.

Thanks for ideas and any attempts to make this are much appreciated !

Do I have to hard reset or what? I've tried simply changing the name of the operator name in regedit and it doesn't stick.

Thanks

I'm using an HTC Touch Pro2 T7380 on Boost Mobile with WinMo 6.5 Sense.
