Ok in my speed dial i have a Voicemail number.. its a weird number, like a 772 area code number, When i call it goes to my voicemail.. Why? whos number is this (772)??
my Telephone number is a (305) number..
I am comming from sprint and my voicemail number was MY cell phone number in order to get to my voicemail.
Do i edit my option and change the number to call my cell phone number (305)???
OR do i keep the (772) number?? I am confused...? Either number i call it goes into my voicemail...
Ok, get this, when I go into my phone Settings > Services > Voice Mail and Text Messages... The numbers there are weird.. the voicemail is that (772) and the Text messages Service center is a weird (312) number.. Why??

that's normal for most US carriers now. If you call that number from a landline youwill see it takes you into the vmail system so you can retrieve your messages from a landline. It's going to be a different number depending upon what area you are in. Mine is 619-204-0806 and I use the phon ein 760 area code. 619 is probably San Diego and I live in the Palm Springs area which is a few hours away.

Oh Ok, I got it.. :)... So should I just change the number under phone Settings to MY cell number? or keep that weird 772 number??
What do you think???
Also, I set up a password to my Voicemail, But when i call my voicemail from my Cell phone it doesnt ask for it, When I call that Weird (772) number from a land phone, it does ask for it..
Is there a way to get a password from my cell phone too??
Thank you

leave the 772 number, it's correct.
when you call in via the cell phone will never ask you for a password, it assumes that it's safe to allow the caller into vmail because they are calling from the cell number associated with vmail box. If you call from a landline, then it prompts the caller for a password.
Now, if I rememebr right (I was just playing around with this a few weeks ago), on ATT you can setup the vmail box to prompt for password from the cellphone also. Youwould need to go thru the vmail account options and see if there is an option for this. If you are on ATT I believe it's possible.

From prior experience in working for that POS company with that general vmail number you get charged minutes. But if u put in your own number as the vmail number it counts as mobile to mobile. Have fun!:)

wow good point, especially now that they give out m2m air time a lot more then before. I've got unlimited m2m so that makes sense for me to change it. I already switched mine....
