Help deciding on lite ROM

I'm still new to this whole thing, so I need some help deciding and understanding. I have Schaps 3.54c (I think c) on my 8525 right now, and it's become unstable. I've also found that I don't use much on the phone, and would enjoy MUCH more speed.

Does more storage = more speed? Or is it just plain old storage?

I was looking at the Hypercore Lite and Schaps 4.01 lite (I liked Schaps until now when it's began malfunctioning).

I need something with good messaging, bluetooth, and wifi. Something with Office (email, notes, excel, word). That's about it. Anything else that I might need I can add myself, like WiFiFoFum.

Any recommendations? What should I be looking for if I want more speed?

if you want to increase speed check the following:

- speed is decreasing if memory available goes below 8 meg (approximately).
as long as you have >8mb everything should be fine.

- pagepool should be set to 6mb, you could try 8mb but i doubt if it gives you more performance. apply the app (see attachment) to the rom-file you downloaded ON YOUR PC

- but more important is the rom. i have been flashing my hermes for the last 3 months with ~20 roms, i think that matt's pandora naked 6 is the fastest and most stable one.

btw, you will not find naked roms with mobile office. but you can install it from a cab.

Do a search for BlackDragon it's a sweet Rom that leaves you 85 megs storage.... It ROOOCKS!

I would download all your prospects and then flash and try them. It only takes about 10min to flash a rom. I tried a lot of them. I ended up back with Vp3g's since I could uninstall all the HTC stuff etc. Schaps I couldn't uninstall the stuff I didn't use. Pays & K's didn't seem to work to well for me and I didn't have that much usable Ram after flash. I didn't try the latest Naked Rom, I wish I did.

So download your prospects and try them. See how much usable Ram you have for programs and get a feel for the speed. Then decide. If you want my opinion then use Vp3g's or Naked rom.

I've been reading through each rom and I'm going to give Pays Lite ROM a shot; it looks very promising and has what I'm looking for. I think I'll test out Schaps 4.01 lite if Pays isn't what I need.
