Sim Unlock - Update on free unlocker situation?

[Behold]

Im after a free unlocker. Not because im tight but because my phone does get damaged from time to time due to accidental damage and over use and needs replacing by orange once or twice resulting in a locked phone again. im not wanting to pay 20 quid then have to pay again if i need to replace it.

So far i have had 2 new kaisers (1st my boss broke by sticking a monitor on it. 2nd was the touch screen becam completely unresponsive)

I know people are working on this i just was curious when this is likely to become available
