Optimized executables
Removed some left over pictures
Removed Registry Editor ( cab available )
Removed Advanced Task Manager ( cab available )
Removed MS Mobile Calculator ( cab available )
Removed Office templates
Changed some ringtones
Changed to nicer SmartDialer
Changed Startup Animation
Tweaked the registry
Some other things I can`t remember now...

I'm excited for this as I like your customized version of Schap's roms very much. Its great how you provide all those addons as CABS, and I can just install what I need. Makes for a very stable rom. Great stuff. I loved Ultimate 1.0 and this should be even better.

Agreed, I have always felt the least in rom as possible not only ensures stability, but also allows for us to customize just the way we want.
However; some stuff just has to be left in. ie. ICS & WMP.

That cab does not add a shortcut to the program menu. This is not a big deal as you can just do it yourself, just letting you know. BTW, this is the best ROM I have ever used.

Yeah.. I`ve noticed that too... it is maybe because I tried to fix battery level indicator to show correct value...

Try tweaking :

Change back to : 3e8

Maybe it will fix the bug...

I think it is better way installing "Battery white-color warning" cab from the addon, it will change the Pin Pad but will give you IMHO the best battery indicator, I will try that and see if it fixes the bug when I get back home from work..

Wonder if this is relat4ed. First ROM where there has been no battery drain overnight. Level has not changed from 100% with both WeatherPanel and POP e-mail updating every 30 minutes. Shamanix, should I also try the registry tweak you recommended? Usually I am at 80% - 90% overnight.

I think sometimes it takes time for the batterymeter to show right readings. Earlier Schaps has been god to the battery to using the right radio.

Camera button and button 5 seems fine in registry, but they are messed up once flashed, just remap the buttons again and the will work perfectly.. Something is messing it up, I am not sure what..

Problems in v1.0 that I`ve got are many, it is very slow and it started messing the rendering the screen when I was switching landscape/portrait mode.. First time I switched it rendered only some parts of the screen while others stayed, I had to switch twice to get it fully rendered.. very annoying when you have to reply to messages on MSN, ect.. :mad:

Yes this is known issue, I think better option is to install "Glossy Black Bars" cab from the addons, when you run it, it will change bars to black like it is on the screenshot.. ;)

but I've got one problem... I've installed ftouchflo 1.4.1. It installed allright but after setting it up the touch-scrolling works but touch gestures don't... If somebody had similiar problem please let me know

I installed Resco Registry, as an add-in to the Resco Explorer. Both cabs always stays in my card, and they are usually the first I install after flashing to any ROM.

but now the Resco Registry gives an error :RRegistry
"the file ':RRegistry' cannot be opended. either it is not signed bla..bla.." the usual error message stuff..

I've got the same problem with Japanese. Maybe something to do with Unicode handling in the ROM??

2.) The phone didn't handoff to 3G when I was driving home tonight talking, and I seem to remember doing that when on the vp3g ROM. In fact, it didn't do it until my e-mail when to go see if there was anything new. Is that normal? And is there a way to force it to roll to 3G?

the triangle is suppose to be a "roaming" icon... so, either your at&t roaming or your device thinks your ficticiously roaming!

yes, I did it as well but still it doesn't work :/

second thing that bothers me is the notifications like sms or missed calls - instead of showing 'notification' mark in the down-left corner it shows the softkey button (in my case new sms) and every 1 or 2 second 'notification' appears for just a milisecond... will try hard reset but maybe you know what's the reason?

Battery performance should be same as Schaps since I didn`t touch any of the Schaps optimization tweaks.. I removed only file cache optimization to get more free RAM memory...

Strange Finding:

I don`t think it is a good idea to restore full backups of older ROM versions onto the new ones...

About the startup sound issue, I am not sure what is causing it to stop working..
It has to do something with the registry, but I didn`t yet figured out dependencies related to it, since startup registry entries seems fine.. :confused:
If anyone figured it out, please let me know so I can fix it in v2.1

Ultimate v2.1 will be ready in few days, it will be SuperStorage ROM thanks to Randomize`s guide and it will have majority of issues ( hopefully ) fixed.

I don`t use VOIP, but I`d like to fix it for those that use it.. So I need someone to test out these VOIP cabs for me and tell me if they work in Ultimate v2.0
Maybe I will remove VOIP from the ROM and have these cabs in addons for those that use it.. :)

As I said before I REFLASHED the Ultimate v2 and Then I did the Restore (of yestersay's Ultimate v2). So it didn't mess any registry settings.
That's way it is strange how the sound is fixed

So you flashed v2.0 and then restored a backup of 3.54 on v2.0 and then did a backup of that v2.0 with restored backeup of 3.54 and then reflashed again and restored a backup of v2.0 ? :D

Step by Step:
1.I had Grass v2.2
2.Flashed Ultimate v2 (NO startup sound)
3.SPB Full backup of Ultimate v2
4.Flashed 3.54 - restored 3.54 image file- took my emails I wanted
5.Flashed Ultimate v2 (For 2nd time)
6. Spb Restore (Full the image file of Ultimate v2 from step 3)
7.Working Rom As step 2 but now with startup sound working.

Sorry for the mess os backup-restore-backup-restore post.

The main point is that sound is fixed after the 2nd flash of Ultimate v2 and the full restore of the Ultimate v2 rom

One queston though.. Did you add startup wav file in the ROM after restoring backup? I have removed it to save on storage memory since it didnt work first time I tried..

I dont see how it could work after the backup if the file wasnt there.. :confused:

If we could compare somehow the state of the ROM before flashing and after restoring the backup, we could figure out why startup sound gets killed..

Maybe it doesnt register the reg entries properly first time and it gets fixed by importing them after flashing.. hmmm..

We could try this ba installing my ultimate startup cab posted in this thread, if it starts working then there is the problem, if not then something else is wrong...

I had the wav file added before I made the Full Backup. I even point the file through Advanced Config but I didn't work.

But after the second flash and restore It played itself immediately after Spb Backup reset my device after the restore.

Hi all,
Great rom BTW.
I have an issue with the time zone changing by itself from Sydney to Vadivostok. Thought it may be the Operator Auto config, so I uninstalled that but that didnt fix it. I even turned off the radio as I thought that might be going away looking for it, but it still changed.
The problem is is uts all my calander appointments out by an hour as we are on daylight savings.
I noticed after I flashed, it defaults to Vadivostok when the time zone screen comes up.
Any ideas?

Is it possible that you can make a Big Storage version of your Rom? ExtRom is a waste with your Rom and I am sure others would agree the additional 9mb come in handy to keep up the speed after installing programs.

I did not have bad blocks problems yet... ( luckily )

Ultimate v2.0 is not BigStorage ROM so that couldn`t cause bad blocks on your device..

Maybe it is a good idea to start at hermes wiki here (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_BootLoader).. I hope you fix it..

Thanks to mattk_r, I made another cab that has a different install directory. The first install directory is ExtROM, this works great with Big Storage Roms with no Extended Rom.

1st I run the ExtROM Autorun, that install files in folder \Storage Card\ExtROM.

2nd I install programs that require a reboot or do not work well with Auto Install.

3rd I run the CABS Autorun, that install files in folder \Storage Card\CABS.

Below are attached the 2 files I use, including the cfg.txt required to install programs. Just copy the folders to the root directory of your Storage Card. Copy the cab files where you normally would copy your other cabs. After reboot you can uninstall the Auto Install Program. (MAKE SURE YOU MAKE CABS READ ONLY OR THEY WILL BE ERASED ON REBOOT.)

I don't know but even after installing the Cingular MMS SMS cab I was not able to connect to the internet using PIE.

I even checked the setting of the connection parameters but it just wouldn't connect.

Anyone else having that problem...

and do you think that v. 2.1 would be devoid of that bug?

PS Personally, I do not like startup animations even though yours is quite nice. Anything that slows down start-up is a no-no for me. If anything, I acutally like that there is no sound with the start animation. I work in a professional enviornment, and I would not want my phone making noise everytime I have to soft-reset.

I don't know but even after installing the Cingular MMS SMS cab I was not able to connect to the internet using PIE.

I even checked the setting of the connection parameters but it just wouldn't connect.

Anyone else having that problem...

Try this cab, it has worked for me on every Rom that I have used. It also fixes the keyboard on a Cingular 8525.

Thanks to mattk_r, I made another cab that has a different install directory. The first install directory is ExtROM, this works great with Big Storage Roms with no Extended Rom.

1st I run the ExtROM Autorun, that install files in folder \Storage Card\ExtROM.

2nd I install programs that require a reboot or do not work well with Auto Install.

3rd I run the CABS Autorun, that install files in folder \Storage Card\CABS.

Below are attached the 2 files I use, including the cfg.txt required to install programs. Just copy the folders to the root directory of your Storage Card. Copy the cab files where you normally would copy your other cabs. After reboot you can uninstall the Auto Install Program. (MAKE SURE YOU MAKE CABS READ ONLY OR THEY WILL BE ERASED ON REBOOT.)

You have to copy the cabs you want to install in the ExtROM folder, make sure the files you copy in the ExtROM do not require a reboot after install. Then you have to edit the cfg.txt file to match the files you have in that folder. Once you install ExtROM Auto Install, your device will reboot and install all the files you have in the folder and then reboot when done. When you have a lot of cabs to install, this makes it a whole lot faster and easier.

Hi all,
Great rom BTW.
I have an issue with the time zone changing by itself from Sydney to Vadivostok. Thought it may be the Operator Auto config, so I uninstalled that but that didnt fix it. I even turned off the radio as I thought that might be going away looking for it, but it still changed.
The problem is is uts all my calander appointments out by an hour as we are on daylight savings.
I noticed after I flashed, it defaults to Vadivostok when the time zone screen comes up.
Any ideas?

I've got the same problem with Japanese. Maybe something to do with Unicode handling in the ROM??

Found the solution, in Schaps advanced config, look for the setting to enable unicode in SMS, disabled is the default, but when I changed it to enabled, Japanese characters came through no problems. It should work for Chinese as well.

Glad to report that everything's working just fine now.. data/voice.. all 3rd party apps running without a glitch ..added tons of hacked from kaiser/touch ..no problem till now.. windows folder opening is still fast (audio manager [gotten advise from my good buddy, natzakaria:) with regard to this] & windows live not installed though)..

Yes, images are missing for everything else exept things that are already shown on the CommManager out of the box..

SetAccousticParams runs in my ROM and it takes a while for it to run, so I guess it is run properly, I am not sure though..

If SetAcousticParam doesn't appear for about 20-30 seconds on first boot, then perform a Clear Storage (Hard reset again) from the settings menu.

I have noticed that on second boot it works ok.

I have noticed that sometimes, even on roms where setaccoustc is setup to run properly, it may not take. You can watch it go right past set Hsdpa - setaccoustc - and then settings.xml and not miss a beat. But then again, you won't get the boost.
But like shamanix said, and I have experienced with his roms, he does have it setup properly. But even with mine, and schaps 4.01, where after a HR it won't grab. So I will have to HR again to make sure it 'seems to hang' like some have noted.

There should be no question when all has went correctly - you will notice a definite boost.

Two things are required to have it work.
1. must have the enable string in config (or preconfig if applicable).
2. must have the right setaccoustc files. (If it doesn't seem to hang at the install of setaccousticparams, it just flys right past, then you don't have the correct setaccousticparams files).

Oh yea, I also should mention;
I am hard of hearing. If setaccousticparams doesn't install properly, I have a real hard time hearing others, and they say I'm yelling.

Something similar happens to me with radio 1.48 and 1.54, it would show no connection icons but it would connect back for a very short time.
I flashed to 1.47 and I don`t remember seeing it again.. I will do some more testing with radio 1.47

If your still using the stock dial pad, just go to it then press "speed dial" on the right side. From there you can add, edit, and delete them.

Sadly, no good, as you can't set up speeddial '1' this way as it is reserved for voicemail ... except mine isn't set up for voicemail!

AFAIK, only a few things should definitely be installed to the device, like dialers and HTC home. Most can be installed to storage card at the cost of speed. A program will open faster from device memory. HTC album is one i'd probably put in device memory.

But feel free to correct me if im wrong :)

its up to you, not all apps can be stored at SD Card. but for sure, check your memory at your device, make sure u install to it (device)

Something similar happens to me with radio 1.48 and 1.54, it would show no connection icons but it would connect back for a very short time.
I flashed to 1.47 and I don`t remember seeing it again.. I will do some more testing with radio 1.47

havent try it bro just subscribe to the service and been a week but couldnt connected yet. already compalin to telkomsel cs but they said problem with the software. any idea which rom that can work with bbc?

Tried this ROM, really nice, but drains my battery completely within 24 hours! With Radio/WiFi/BT OFF! Back to Schap's 3.54c again.

Yes, images are missing for everything else exept things that are already shown on the CommManager out of the box..

As you've stripped them out is there any way you could put them in a zip file and attach to here, some of us may want to use more than just your default options in comm manager, thanks.

My advanced config also bombs out when I try to locate a wav file for the animated sound option, it opens the explorer/browse window waits for a while then nukes itself.

you can try this cab i found. but, it never seems to work for me. other than that i do have a cab for the medianet settings that does it also. the only downside for you is it doesnt appear that you're on att. but, ill attach it anyways for you to check out.

with regard to the theme, just install a new theme..that shud remedy shamanix's today theme's landscape issue..

with respect of the reconnection of data call, it shud be able to re-connect automatically to it's previous state after voice call is terminated.. mine got no issue with regard to that.. when voice call is active, the data connection will not be terminated but instead turned into 'G' & then when voice is terminated, the connection will turn from 'G' to '3G' & 'H' if available

..sometimes, this cud be a telco issue, issue concerning the handshakes between type of data connection .. if you are ok with it, try changing your radio rom.. good luck bro :)

Shamanix your Roms are fast, stable Thankyou. Been using all your previous Roms without minimal trouble. I use Orange UK, only think I note is when I get a voice message I dont get the icon, instead a get an SMS text message with a triangle. Other than this, I cant complain, keep up the good work.

i had the same problem with the last rom from berd. Sometimes with set acoustic param it makes it too loud. Once it's done it's done though..so the only way to correct it is to hard reset. ONce you hard reset bypass the customization (device will customize in 3..2..1..) by soft resetting before the countdown ends. Then you will have a set acoustic param'less (quieter) rom.

Theme is bugged because of preconfig glossy black bars, to avoid it: switch back to default, soft reset, switch back to ultimate.tsk, run glossy black bars application from addons to get black bars and issue is gone..

If somebody wants to create colorful images for the comm manager, I will upload the rest of the pictures for editing and will put them in my ROM and in CAB for quick fix..

Hard reset your device, when customization starts, leave it customizing.. When settings.xml finishes it will start SetAccousticParm, so then soft reset and your device won`t be so loud..

I am not using FTouchFlo, I use SPB Pocket Plus`s smart scrolling..
Is the FTouchFlo working now or what ? If there are problems with it, I could try creating FTouchFLO cab from Schaps ROM and it should work fine..

There were some updates that came out and listed on PointUI's website and the forum. I consolidated these updates into the cabs listed below. Two of the updates I customized for the services I use and as always, rather you like it or not I share.:)

This ROM appears to suffer from the problem where Numlock engages when I'm on the phone. Makes it impossible to SMS. Not in the latest vp3G ROM, but this one is faster. Anyone solved that riddle yet?

Umm...first off, I did search for this, and I didn't find anything. It didn't take me long to type it at all, and after about a half hour of searching I couldn't find anything and made the post.

Thanks, but no. My voicemail is set up and works (e.g. I can check messages via a notification/softkey). It is just speed dial '1' that has disappeared.

I've had no battery drain issues, but I did notice today when I received a voicemail and tapped the voicemail indicator that I didn't get my normal "1 new voicemail" pop up. Also when there's a missed call and a voicemail and you tap the message indicator, a bar should always appear showing the missed call indicator, the voicemail indicator, and other indicators. Instead in this ROM, it just shows a blank white bar that appears.

I really like your ROMs. I'm using Ultimate 1.0 which seems to be the best for me.

Is it possible to disable the numlock while in call? This seems to be a problem of all your ROMs.

P.S. I just found this Ultimate theme somewhere which I think you can upgrade your stock one with. It has a bit cleaner background picture than the one you use. Have a look at it.

Dude, I found a bug in Shamanix`s super storage ROM version.

When an SMS message arrives on the phone, if it is left unread and the device is switched off, the message completely disappears from memory and SIM card when you restart the device.

It was really REALLY painful n annoying for me, as I missed an invitation frm my fwnd :mad:

Here's a 12 button comm manager by shaps..lots more options. Remember though, when installing a new comm manager you must kill the one you are using in task manager first, then run the new cab.

As for the dialer, run advanced config (added as well if not already on your phone) and uncheck video dialer.

Found a few more problems with this ROM:

-After a couple days without restarting the phone, composing text messages causes the keyboard to lock up.

-Tab does not work when going from To: line in text messaging to the message body

-While attempting to text while on a phone call over Bluetooth, when typing all input is outputted as numbers or random characters. So texting while talking doesn't work

-Setting up an Outlook account to automatically check mail fails to work. I played around with this for a while.

-Can't manage to install even the simple calculator application because it fails to appear in programs

-Sending a text message to an e-mail address fails to work

I like the ROM for it's black theme, but I guess I'm going to have to find a different one.

Tested but the speed wasn't as good as I expected, Why menu is so slow. after all that I decided to move to the parent of this ROM, Yes You are right Schaps 4.31, lets see how that works..But let me say thanx to Shamanix again for his sleepless nights. Reading the forums, I see there are still stability issues in these early WM6.1 releases, so I will wait a bit..
