Nice work. It's always a joy to come on the forum and find a new cab that can make my TyTN 2 that little bit more perfect! Your efforts are much appreciated.
So from the Polaris you have given us this GPS tool, the new Task Manager and the new camera- did I miss anything?

this comes from a unreleased/leaked rom. tools like these should not be on the internet and available to the public. these are htc property and htc test tools.

well he has a point..it might brick some of the phones out there
or maybe it might be just gold, bug free and ready to cook
the uncertainty is the point here..
that said..i am taking the plunge and installing it right now! :p

right, so whats your point? im sure you have a custom ROM on your device. Last time i checked, reverse engineering the OS and device is against the law....

No, I get "access to site blocked" by my Co. for security reasons.
Thanks for trying.
I seem to be able to reach most ftp sites like the ones on Xda, but more and more sites are being blocked by my Co.
thank you for offering this tool...
quick question - this tool will turn on the gps chip faster then using software like TomTom. - I noticed it takes a minute or two to warm up and connect.
are there any other quick and dirty methods of turning on the gps w/o having to install this cab?
please advise!

But if you think about, these roms are Microsoft's, and licensees such as HTC, we have no right to extract them and modified them. But we don't just didn't care, I figured.
Well I made an attachment, some member's can't use rapidshare at work, or on mobile.

snapvue isnt a htc debug tool. it is a plugin like htc home. these tools are htc debug tools used for testing of devices only.
i have nothing against putting them up. i have all of these from different devices including the shift. i just never release them because if htc notices these are up on the net they will require xda to take them off.
oh well ill just say this: everyone download these while they are still up bc theres a chance htc can require us to not provide links to them. or they might not even notice.

does anybody know about disabling static navigation on Kaiser?
is there a small application that I can add to the desktop for on/off GPS switch? I think this will be easier than the utility app.
please advise.

I have downloaded and installed this app. to my HTC TYTN II device memory and it doesn't seem to do anything. However, my GPS works fine with TomTom, Google Maps and Windows Live Search. Am I missing something?

Ok. Does your internal GPS work on com port 4? And that works OK? And you want to switch it off? Then direct your application NOT to look at port 4 but ANOTHER port.

I don't think the Qualcom GPS supports it, so no, this tool won't help you there.
I find myself 100M low fairly consistently, which makes me wonder if it's a calibration problem. I don't use the built-in for anything except car navigation, I still use my bluetooth GPS (SirfStar III) when I geocache or other activities where I want reliable data.

the Baud rate is suppose to be 4800 BUT some apps like Igo use 57000 so i manually set up all my applications to use 57000 and for me i get a faster fix using VisulaGPS, TomTom7, and google maps. since day 1 of the kaisers release there is a bug in the Kaisers GPS settings app. if you change the preference to anything other than the OEM settings GPS locks up.

Looks like this app does much the same as GPS Utilities, very nice for comparison....
Kaiser bauds should all be set at 4800 for optimal......anyone else had better experience trying otherwise?

Chunkdaddy00; It would be better if you created a fresh thread with that request to ensure you got your question better answered. I see you're new too, so Welcome to XDA-Developers ;)
Although, saying that, have you tried searching the web? Or even for those keywords here on XDA?:rolleyes:

Ok... I've installed this program and my GPS is set to 57000 baud and now everybody says it should be only 4800?
I would like to change the baud to 4800 but everytime I leave the program it automatically returns to 57000??? How do you save the settings?
Also what does the different settings in repeat section mean? (Mine is set to Hot start) and what about development data? On or off?
Hope you will help ;-)

Hmm I still have those problems I mentioned but I don't know if it's due to this program or because I have logged in to TomTom plus via my Tytn 2 but I get a quite fast lock to GPS satelites even though I'm still at 57600 Baud ;-)

04-08-2008, 10:18 AM
Well it seems that when I look in this program the baudrate is 57600 but when I go to 'settings' 'system' 'extern gps' the baudrate is only set to 4800 - which is it...? By the I still cannot save the settings in GPS tool...
