Bless You! My nextborn shall be yours. I just had the first 'clean' sync in a couple of weeks. I hope it holds up. WMDC has been a complete disaster for me ever since I got the Advantage in August.

is any registry tweak for that? I have no checkbox there. I use Samsung C6625.

I'm sure glad you posted. For several months now I have been unable to sync my files. I had forgotten about this problem. I was not getting the error code though.
The fix is really Start>Settings>Connections>USB to PC. If you have Win Mobile 6 and up it should be there. That is where the setting is. Let me know how it goes.

I'm going to put this solution in my recurring appointments in Outlook to check the setting every month. It keeps getting turned back on! I suggest we all do the same. About once a year it comes up.
