I have some problems about the new rom(Update 25), when I finish the flashing, It perform hard reset. After it load the image of the HP logo id didn't load any others images and the screen become white. Maybe you didn't flash correctly. Please flash again, or you can flash the newer b305.

I flashed the update 25 Rom twice, but the problem still existed. I would like to ask where is b305? I think there are some problems in the tar file of the update 24 and 25. When I try to unpack them. It told me that the file was corrupted.

Need to check the file size of the downloaded file to confirm full download. My experience is that some file be said to be download complete but the file size is really smaller than the original one. File corrupted when expanding is a good hint of such a problem.

It is necessary to download load the file again.

What is your bootloader version?

There may be something messy in your device.
Try downgrading to WM5 using PC method, and then update to 6.5 again.

Also you have check the md5sum? They are exactly like what I posted?

I am using bootloader version 1.01. I only have problems for WP6.5. I can flash your WM6.1 Rom prefectly. :confused:

For the camera FPS problem. I don't know how to get it faster. You can set the resolution lower and the FPS will come up.

I used PC method to install the b305 rom. My phone is 6818 which is missing the wifi only. I can use the phone with 6.5 rom but did not try all the features of the phone. BT is not very usable at the moment but the phone can make or receive calls

Animation, from my experience you need to recover it back to bootloader version 1.01 (original version) first. Then follow the following steps.

*** Introduce for flash ROM via miniSD card

-Download the ROM miniSD card version (Download (via miniSD card)) from the top of this topic.
-Connect miniSD card with your PC via CardReader.
-Extract ROM to the root folder of miniSD (name must be : diskimg.nb0, size : 64,000 KB)
-Insert miniSD card to your device.
-Change battery full.
-Go to bootloader : Press both soft key (two "-" keys) and softreset (stylus), i'll apear HP bootloader sceen.
-Wait 15 -> 20 mins. I'll auto hardreset.

It seems that 6.5 will try to cache something after running a program. So it will take a lot of memory. Do a soft reset to run programs that takes huge memory.

You do not need to flash to 1.05 to do SD card update.
But I don't know whether it will cause problems. I am using 1.05 and it is working well.

Make a Hard Reset to perform a clean reboot. The system will return to fresh install. You will loss all your data and program. do backup your personal data before performing a hard reset if you need to keep them

yes, but this one is almost the same as b305. I cannot fix all the bluetooth problems in time. I just fix some memory issues. New memory allocating tools wmrelloc always cause some problems.

I think you should not use b279. It is not a supported ROM.
Try b229 or b309 and report the problem if it persists.

Deleting it is the least choice.

DO the following when testing:
1. Flash the ROM and setup the minimal network.
2. Goto IE and test if it can browse normal website like apple.com
3. If OK, Goto windows live, press signin button.
4. Agree and input your user/password.
5. Wait for a long while, it will said setup windows live search plugin.

I downloaded the 6828-WM65-20090528-b307 rom & tried to flash the same thru SD card, as my device had a 1.0.5 bl. But after the white screen, the device went to off mode & failed to switch on again. I tried to recover from the semi brick state as per the steps mentioned in the forum. BUt it failed.

That's the nightmare for people like us. Hoping to hear the best of WM6.5. I personally will not migrate until BT is stable as I used that (don't want to be summon driving on the road holding a phone). ;) Let me know if you need MediaFire upload. As what I investigated, the BT problem originated from coredll.dll. There is some API change since 6.1.6 (AKU 1.6 or build > 210xx). Use old coredll.dll in the AKU 1.6 will solve the problem. But in 6.5, it will result in kernel panic when booting. I will try to get some knowledge from other rom makers.

b316 with M$ official release.

The stability of this ROM may be better than the previous build.
The BT problems haven't been fixed. The headset is not stable and you can only add 2 devices if you don't use registry tricks. (I may write a small program to solve this problem if I have time in the future, changing cplmain.cpl will solve this but this is not what I want)

The SMS seems much faster than the previous release. But please use PIMBackup or Myphone service to restore your SMS. Using software like spb backup will cause problems.

In fact, the ROM is not pure emulator ROM because the emulator does not contain full build of the OS. I take some part from the older 21234 ROM.

Also I use new certificate system and new initflash.dat. The menu arrange is different from previous but the same as emulators. If anyone have certificate problems, please notify me.

The windows live issue has been fixed.

It does not mean headset. It is another problem.
You cannot add more than 2 bluetooth devices.

1. You cannot make more than 2 phone call or receive 2 phone call using bluetooth headset at one connection.
2. If you add more than 2 devices, devices will disappear. But they are really added.
3. You cannot manually connect a BT headset using "Connect"

I get 34MB Free Ram on WM 6.5 on first boot, and on WM 6.1 after 3 days and running SPB mobile shell 3, I still have 24 MB free RAM. On WM 6.1 with Manila 2D and Exchange mail after 3 days i still have 23,9 MB of RAM.

I don't know it work well or no on 6828, you can try it.

In my power consumption test. The battery life is OK, just like the older ROM.
The power consumption of many application is just the same as before.
For the stand-by, I haven't tested fully. It can last 3 days with only 1 hour wifi and 2 hour ebook without phone call.

I don't know the problem of band switch. Do you mean the setting cannot be saved after soft reset?

No. In my test. No matter how many BT devices you have, you can only make 2 phone call.

The option is just there. You can also press the green phone call then menu->Option, "Ring type" is there.

Note everytime you flash your device, you need to do a soft reset right after you see the today screen.

rename ebootxxx.nbf in the official rom to eboot.nb0. Copy it to a small sd card and then insert it, press and hold 2- keys and reset.

The radio is working very well on my device. I think you can scan and save channel manually.

The bluetooth problem is due to the old driver. There are currently no way to fix this.

Go to HKLM/init. If you can see initvmmap, it should work.
Also why you need initvmmap. If you are using native 6.5 or 6.1 NK.exe, it will not even boot without this.

As far as I know, 6.5 expended the VM space by adding more slots for more module space. But only with native NK.exe, it will work. Without extra space, the system will still work fine by converting modules to files.

Search platform builder 5.0 and you can get it from m$ site. But native bsp is device depended and can be hardly downloaded from legal way. They are licenced to oem.

Maybe you bootloader has some problem. You can flash the official ROM if possible, or rename and copy HP's bootloader to SD card and flash it. (rename that ebootxxxxx.nbf to eboot.nb0, it is a very dangerous step)

I upgraded to the latest rom, b318. I noticed that after I press the button to put in standby mode, any press of the button "wakes" up my rw6828 again. The button settings is already set to only wait for the power button. What can I do to prevent this? Is there a registry item I can edit? Anybody know?

I don't have this problem. However the button setting has no effect at all. Only the power button can wake the device no matter what you set.

I suggest you do a hard reset and check the problem again.

I uses the following.
1, download radio from hp and replace hpruu.exe with patched one.
2, update it. check radio version in hp asset view.
3, reinstall wm6.1 rom using sd card.

Which version are you using. If you have version 0.33+, you do not need it.

The activesync is working fine in my classmate's computer.

The memory consumption is huge in 6.5. You can disable the chome and camera to save memory

You can disable camera by changing the registry

I've tried FreeUP RAM for SKTools Lite 3.3.1 but it always frozen my device (rw6828).

However, Hibernate work fine.

I mean the device not go to bootloader mode - only spark of life when I connect device to USB - red light is on.

JTAG method given at the link working perfect. The connecting points are near the camera button at the button side of plate. I mean the side that is under the display.

The 6815 ROM will not work for 6945. The 6945 hardware is very different from 68xx. It is hard to port.

Also I don't have time to investigate the ROM for now. Sorry for that.

I've got a rw6815, and recently i lost my mini sd card, and because the mini sd card e no more sold in my contry, i had to buy a micro sd 2GB, and and mini sd adpater. and i'm no longer able to flash my mobile whith new software. any idea? i did'nt had any trouble before with a 2Gb mini SD.
I have already reduced the sd card to 70MB. still no efect.

1G card would work OK. Maybe you can format you card again to fat or vfat and try again.

For the PC, you can read the instructions on the second thread. This includes a bootloader flashing process, which may destroy you device.

What is the attachment? Does that mean the MMS body?
If it is.
I think it is the network configuration problems. It is working fine on my device. You need to configure the MMS server correctly.

I have tried WM6.5 ver 318. The overall feature & applications look pretty good. Speed of this ROM is a bit slow (not sure if there's any way to improve the speed). I also have chance to try the WM6.5 Ver 3.02.01b for HP6815 & HP68x8 from this link ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505750 . Speed is not too slow for this ROM.

But both versions have the same issue is when i try to connect bluetooth with small talk, it keeps showing "connected" all the time and "add new device" also disappear. Do you have any idea? Thank you.

i just simpy run the .bat file then it create another .vb0, quickly i run the DUU everything run normally even boot loader, automatically enter.

hope u will release the V 6.5 for Atom soon.

What do you mean by slowness? I think it is faster than WM5.

The bluetooth problem is persist in all my 6.5 ROMs. It is the driver compatibility problem. But I have no idea to fix this. There is a workaround. You can locate the devices in registry. Copy THEM ALL to a temporary place and you can add your new device normally. After that copy them BACK to the devices. Then You can add more than 2 devices.

Can anyone cook rom 6.1 for atom using this build 20090107b229 from Master Helloworld1?

He recommend that this rom is stable so i want to flash this rom onto my atom.

i have download mr helloworld 1 kitchen to test file diskimg.nb0 witch is recommend from helloworld 1 that stable.

i replaced that file in the ROM directory and replace with new sys 20273 from him then i run build rom.bat after finished i take file diskgimg.nb0 from FLASH folder to flash on my atom. can u guess what haapen?

My boot loader become HP at that time i dare not disconnect from usb i wait with worry till it finished, the process is sucesfully.

now what i got is HP bootloader and atom welcome screen.

i connect my atom to pc coz i want to flash the atom rom back unfortunately it won't sync but the battery is charge, when i open active sync from my atom it show nothing.

i try to flash atom rom from sd card as suggestion but i can't enter boot loader on my atom (camera button + reset)

then i tried to enter boot loader as HP by press Send + End call button + reset it show HP boot loader n take about 5 to 10 minutes, it restart it self then go to windows the same nothing change.

Any commends? :(

In HP's, boot loader mode is entered pressing both (-) keys + reset (stylus).
With some roms, pressing Send + End call buttons + reset = hardware reset (reseting to default factory), the same with pressing "power button" + reset.

Only just a question: Have you used the "Atom kitchen" or the "6828 kitchen"?

Of course, I'm not an expert, only a "home" user ;)

Thanks for ur reply! i have download Atom Kitchen but i replace hp diskimg.nb0 file in ROM directory to convert it with new SYS build 20273.

when i flash, i forgot to delete the Eboot.nb0 of hp that's y my atom boot loader become hp.

My atom doesn't have the (-) softkey, try to enter boot loader by pressing Camera + Reset, i can't.

Try to flash Eboot or rom using sd can't still can't.

anycommend more? :(

Press and hold win key and press r. Then input cmd. You will see the cmd window.
Then use command
cd "DIRECTORY WHERE THE TOOL IS LOCATED"
for example
cd c:\romkitchen

Thanks master, one more thing, every files is in ur kitchen, if i just run buildrom.bat straight away it will generate diskimg.nb0 in flash folder.

can i use that file to update my atom? every thing work?
