i just bought a new laptop and it has vista home premium, when i pluged in my tilt it started up windows media player to sync, i didn't get the normal active sync box that happened w/windows xp, is there a way to fix this?

Hook up the phone and verify that it is connected through the Sync Center. Once connected go to Windows update in the Control Panel and check for updates. You should get the option to DL the WMDC.

what is the sync center? or were is it at in vista?

You won't find the exact same looking sync center as XP, but you should see the normal green circular icon on your task bar when it's all setup. I pretty much downloaded the windows mobile device center and let the laptop do the rest
