NHOCBANME's HP iPAQ rw68xx WM6 ROM Bug Report

everyone in commenting about bug(the camera wont work, failed to flash,etc)

so i made this thread to help nhocbanme monitor the bug that occured in his ROM

make the report format as follows:
----------------------------------
1. HP iPAQ version : rw6828,rw6818 or rw6815
2. ROM from nhocbanme that is used : 1.1, 1.2 , 1.3, or 1.4
3. Bugs found : camera not working, or some application that's installed wont work(list the name of the application),etc
4. Suggestion : change the keyboard color into default, or add SRSWOW,etc

this way nhocbanme and all of us user of his ROM could evaluate it and decide which is the best.

4. Suggestion : Implement the battery drain improvement like homers's ROM.

Side note : My device unable to power up from standby randomly after flashing to WM6 rom. Any rw6828 users out there having the same issue as me ? I suspect is the activesync auto run during device standby. I've applied the fake server tweak but still the same.

Btw can you try to delete all folder with "xip" in their file name in SYS & OEM folder when make image on your next rom ? Maybe that could solve some Screen Of Death (SOD) issue. Just looked into some interesting post that someone in xda-developers found here :

hi ncohbanme,.
let me try to look at your xip, the SOD issue, might come from there,.
and i think you dont need to delete the xip folder, LangDB (it is used by anopther module, if you delete it, some module will not be able to search for it, then you'll have a bug)

can you upload your XIP.bin?

Actually, XIP folder isnt necessary in the kitchen (inside ROM folder), but you need one ROM file that have a new OS, and best XIP, inside the ROM folder,.

after using wm5torage and when u use file explorer the SD card is not avaliable until u take out the card and put it back into the slot again.

4. Suggestion :

SRS WOW is functioning if you install Netv3.5.cab again(since i think the rom has already got net3.5 pre-installed),its strange because it says error installing at the end...but the SRS works after reinstalling netcfv3.5...

i fond this rom http://rapidshare.com/files/78871669/biohazard.rar.html, from pda hack for rw6815, and i´ve flashed mine with this rom and the camera works just fine.
the camera app is the one from nhocbanme ver 1.04a for 68x8, and works great.
however my 6815 keeps freezing with this rom:(, it has many bugs:(
anyone help solve camera bug from nhocbanme ver 1.04b?

well, I am using a 6828 from Malaysia, does not have any prblem with the camera... and the camera seems having better lighting detection now anyway...

wm5storage works but when deativated must take off card
sim manager after saving contacts to sim they became unhnamed

#1 I don't meet this problem, try to HardReset.

It seems that it hangs at the windows mobile 6.1 screen (green) everytime after I do a hard-reset, but then the 'first start welcome screen' appears after I doing a soft reset

the problem in #1 is fixed after hard-resetting :)

after refresh this rom, everything comes right! however, i cannot connect to wifi AP with WPA-PSK TKIP. I'm sure the Key is correct, and can be used to make connection (I did tested on my laptop). How come this happen?

Working:
Camera, flash 5-10fps video, great nightmode
BT A2DP all working including BT Keyboard and Stereo BT

Bugs:
- WM5 Storage Card Bug (after deactivate SD not detected need to rem/ins)
- Video Capture (noisy video capture)
- Transcriber hangups (initial use of transcriber toolbar hangs the phone)
- Constant screen updates with the file explorer (always refreshing)
- Fast battery drain compared to wm5
- No full battery charge notification or indicator continuously charging
- Equalizer non-functional


Recommendations:

Please include LG Today Menu WITH Menu buttons
QuickMenu start menu replacement
HTC AGC controller (Hermes works, for HP's Automatic Gain Control)
Additional Frames for Camera (i could supply, around 7mb additional)
also UPX4PPC and all added apps should be compressed by UPX :D

Strange thing is that WMstorage conflicts with pocket plus. when ever pocket plus's today plug in is running, wm storage can't lock the card into storage mode. it was never a problem for me.

And also during hard reset the auto configurator won't detect my sim card automaticly. have to run auto config from the control pannel to get it right.

3.When flashed via mini sd, it looks like it is working for a while then suddenly it auto hard-reset in less than 15minutes. It worked as normal but when I saw the wm screen still in wm5 I knew that it was all wrong. I tried many times following ur steps and when I checked the file explorer it had two of windows , my documents
all folders except minisd,app data.
