Hi,

I've been trying out different Artemis Touch versions.

I am wondering whether 'junk' files get left on my XDA Orbit when installing a new ROM.

(The usual 'step 1 (uspl cid unlocking) then step 2 (flash rom)'.

On my original XDA1 and 2 the reloading of Rom took much longer but seemed to completely erase the XDA.

On the XDA Orbut, loading the superb new Touch Roms, the reloading is very quick, but I do not think it erases everything.

Am I right, and is there any opinion / advice Forum members might give?

Thanks
A

IMHO doing a reflash of the ROM erases totally the ROM back to "like new" it doesn't clear your memory card though.

If you flash a cooked ROM some "trash" can stay in your ROM but that's not bad. A ROM usually consists of several parts, the operating system, radio rom, extended ROM and some other things people usually don't talk about a lot here.

Having those old radio ROMs and other things on your device does usually no harm at all to your device. I change my "os-rom" every now and then, but that's it since my radio version is up to date. When you get an update by your operator it includes all ROM-parts and overwrites everything that was left.

If you wish to ga back to zero limit, just flash "ship ROM" after you formatted the SD card, then flash the cooked ROM.
