Appointment notifications: It's really really weird. I only read system state of next calendar appointment and calculate if it's time to start alarm or not. I think it's time to give up the fight with calendar appointment events (http://csharponphone.blogspot.com/2006/08/systemstate-calendarappointment-events.html) and read the data directly from calendar application / outlook. Im gonna to rewrite it...

Here's the latest version of btWatch!

I updated the app to dynamically load fonts from tiny bmp images stored in the install directory. This will allow you to change the font in any way you choose. Simply edit the files using windows paint. You may increase/decrease the width of each file, but must not alter the height (8 pixels) or rename the files.

These images are loaded dynamically into memmory when the application is launched and used for 2 line text display. (note: I did not add punctuation yet. eg: @ , ! ? . but I will for the next version)

When an SMS message is received (and SMS Notification is enabled in Options), the watch vibrates, displays the number of unread SMS messages and then proceeds to display the sender name/number followed by the entire txt message, regardless of length!

Pressing the crown (pause/play) will display current phone status. Holding the crown (FF) will display all upcoming appointments for the current day (if any).

I will be updating CallerID to 2-line text in the next revision. I will also be including Appointment notifications and enable a Tasks Menu similar to the current Appointments Menu.

BTW: If you have trouble getting the watch to connect, you need to make sure that MoneyToo's app is not running, turn BT off and back on then connect (press upper-right button or crown). If this does not work, I would suggest removing any associated com port (and possibly the watch pairing) and pairing directly through btWatch.

Edit: Added 2-line CallerID and fixed bug to allow installation on foreign phones.

You must install the app to the device directly, not the memory card.
Uninstall btWatch via "remove programs" and reinstall.

EDIT: It does work when I create a Program Files folder and copy it to there.

Is the name of "Program Files" folder on your phone in Dutch? That would definately cause a problem, but I can fix it later tonight. (font folder is hard coded)

Glad to hear it works, but I will definately alter the app to dynamicaly locate the install directory.

It works now (I copied the btwatch dir from "programmabestanden" tot "program files), but I found a bug.
1) When I press&hold the right middel button I first get the FFW icon followed by "No more appointments today" and after that the watch doesn't react on the buttons anymore.
The only way to get it working again is doeing a test call.

2) the test "Send SMS" doesn't do anything on my system.

I updated the cab file on the previous post to detect the install directory so that it should work on non-US phones. I also made a minor change which should fix Bug1 above.

First of all moneytoo, thanks for writing such a cool app. Works great on my Blackjack II with a MBW-150. Easy to install and config. Just a couple of things not working:
1. I dont get notify events for appointments at all - nice to fix this
2. the media player controls are not working (with player in foreground)

and a couple of suggestions:
3. the email notifications would be great if they had the sender and subject in them rather then "email for...." as the emails are always for me
4. mute/unmute for the mic would be a killer feature during a call, as this is usually difficult to do on a headset.

It's fully dispalyed, but words are sometimes cut in 2 pieces to proceed on the next line (sometimes even letters are cut in 2)

Here's the latest version of btWatch. I fixed a few minor bugs in the code and added a few new features.

You can now controll Windows Media Player properly. By default the crown (play, pause, ff) is used for phone status and appointment info. If you press the upper right button 4-5 times in a row the watch will display "WMP Control Activated" and the crown will revert to play, pause and next track functions. The first time you press play WMP will activate on your device so you can select a playlist. Once you have picked a playlist and started listening to music you can minimize WMP. From this point on the watch will display artist/track info each time a new song starts. You can pause, play and advance tracks without having to manually bring WMP to the front (screen can be off for that matter).

When you want to check phone status, etc simply press the upper right button 4 times in a row and the watch will display "WMP Control Deactivated." The crown will then activate status menus.

As always, your feedback is much appreciated.

BTW: I am currently using the media control function to listen to music on my A2DP headset with the phone in my pocket and the screen turned off with no problems at all.

Just a quick update.

I have updated the app to better deal with long SMS messages. It will no longer split individual characters between lines, but will split words just to maximize use of the small screen. The bottom line of text should no longer start with a space if the lines split between words. I also added a few seconds to the display of "WMP Control Activated/Deactivated."

By the time I post the updated version later today, I will have likely added the tasks menu as well. Hopefully, I will have time to add punctuation to the font so that smileys :) etc can be seen in messages.

but whenever watch is communicating with phone - like when i input a skip or pause command - the audio is interuppted several times and is jumpy :(

also, the background noise on headset connection seems worse when btwatch is running and sound quality seems worse :(
anyone else experiencing this? do i somehow need to set headset and watch to differentg com ports (how?)

Moneytoo: very nice job on the mute/unmute! Thank you. It works great.
One more suggestion on that feature, it's hard to know whether the phone is muted without looking at the phone because of the toggle. It would improve the usability if the watch displayed MUTE while the phone was muted. Alternatively (or in addition) you could use the down key for mute-on and the up key for mute-off rather than the toggle mechanism. At least that would avoid getting out of sync with the toggle (i.e. trying to mute the phone when it's already muted, then saying something rude only to realize that you just turned mute off!).

Also, the appointment notification and media player control now work perfectly too.

- Detailed E-mail notifications
On incoming E-mail the watch will display sender and subject. There is more detailed screen in the watch menu (volume = 2) - sender, subject, time, mail size, priority, and short preview.

So what's the next most important feature to include/improve/fix?
Do you really wont to read and browse through all your messages (sms/email/tasks/appointments/call history...)?

The app has worked so well with my Jabra that I had not thought to try it with my Moto S9. I tested it last night and got the same results (if not worse) as you. The problem seems to be at a very low level in the communication process. I will rectify the problem, but it may take some time.

I did shorten the number of presses it takes to activate WMP to 4 (any less and it may activate when you do not want it). Long press is, unfortunately not possible with this button. I will post the newer version in a couple of minutes.

Here's the updated version of btWatch!

I have updated the app to better deal with long SMS messages. It will no longer split individual characters between lines, but will split words just to maximize use of the small screen. The bottom line of text should no longer start with a space if the lines split between words. I added a few seconds to the display of "WMP Control Activated/Deactivated" and reduced the number of times you need to press the upper right button to 4.

I have added the tasks menu as well. Simply hold the crown(FF) to enter the Appointments menu; at any time during the display of appointments, press the top right button to enter the Tasks menu. It will display a list of tasks which have not yet been completed, their priority and due date if any.

I also made a major change the threading structure of the code (hopefully one for the best). This was done to allow the application to track what the current state of the watch is so that it can be interrupted as necessary (incoming call, etc).

Edit: I also added all standard punctuation - click "menu->test->2-line font test" to see what is currently supported.

I have the opposite problem as compared to the no vibrate on SMS, my watch (MWB-100) vibrates but no caller ID on screen. It worked fine on all versions before 0.2.0.0....i've resetted and restarted all devices....but no solution...what could be the problem?

I had been following this thread with interest, because I liked the idea of the watch and was even close to switching to Sony before Christmas. Just today I received my watch (took extra time to get it to Thailand) and fiddled with it until I got it working.

The first problem was the pairing but once I understood the procedure properly it went without a hitch. Repeated it a few times thereafter, each time without any problems whatsoever. One problem was with the HTC Touch Dual - its best to chose a proper soft keyboard, because otherwise one cannot be sure, if one enters zeros or spaces for the password.

Then of course came the setup of SmartWatchM itself and of course I ran into a problem with the registry values. Some items were not showing up in the editor (Resco), which frazzled me at first. So I finally gave up and deleted all the entries including SmartWatchM from my device. I then proceeded to install btWatch and within minutes I had everything working. Now I was at least sure the watch would not be just a boat anchor.

Back to the registry I went and learned a bit more since I could now look at real values. So the long and short of it is, that btWatch has a superior installation procedure. I was also able to get the BT address from the program, which was difficult to read on the MBW-150 Executive. The wristband is in the way and my eyes are not that sharp anymore.

Playing around a bit with btWatch and all the buttons on the MBW-150 I was unable to get some of the things working. Not sure is this is due to using a MBW-150 instead of a MBW-100 or just not enough "button instructions". The program though worked without a problem, all tests, which were provided, cleared the muster. I especially liked the EKG beat.:)

So now with extra ammunition back I went through the thread and proceeded to install SmartwatchM again. Of course I cleared my HTC Touch Dual and reset the watch first. So pairing again and then installation. I used the very helpful files provided by Schaggo (thanks Schaggo) with some small modification on the actual procedure (no outgoing port) and got my watch working.

By the way I also tested the appointment notification right away and they definitely do work with an alarm set.

So long story short, I will be testing this for a few days and then a donation is definitely in the offing.:D

There are a few items though, which I want to point out or emphasize:
a) Installation should be made easier, use btWatch as a guide;)
b) There are so many functions, it is becoming confusing. One needs to keep a cheat sheet near just to keep abreast. This should be made easier and a detailed write-up (recipe book) with all the button functions in one place would really help.

Currently using HTC Touch Dual WM 6.0, MBW-150 Executive. I may also try to use a Dopod 838 Pro with WM 6.0, which I still have in a drawer.:rolleyes:

I went back to v0.2.0.0. Email notifications work most of the time, but occassionally the watch misses an email (perhaps 1 out of 10) and I get Error 003 on the phone. Not sure if this was the problem that v0.2.0.1 fixed but that release locks up for me.

instead of outlook I am using Flexmail and for SMS a hacked version of the threaded Palm SMS program. Of course neither one of them show up on the watch. I guess it is a similar problem as weather and RSS for some others. Are there any registry values which could be set to rectify the problem?:)

By the way in my HTC Touch Dual I am not using Hub in the today display but did set it up with Chiang Mai for the weather and then simply took it off the today screen. The info comes through properly on the watch. So for any of you out there craving that function, there are hacks on the net so you can install the Hub. If you think it is taking to much screen real estate, simply disable it on the today screen.:D

In regards to the manual I may be able and willing to help, certainly with the English language. I am bilingual German (native) and English for too many years to remember. Sorry do not speak, read or write any other languages.;)

however, when i run the tests for SMS, E-mail & 2-line Text, the watch only display the message icon without any text.

In regards to battery life 14 hours seems very low. Do you possibly have a constant barrage of notices lighting up the watch display? I just got my watch on Monday, charged it for two hours as suggested and the battery icon still shows about 2/3rds today on Thursday. I get a limited amount of notifications though. Only the last two days email was alerting me via the watch about every 5 to 10 minutes during waking hours, because I switched from Flexmail to P-outlook, so I can use the email feature on the watch. After manually entering the account information into P-outlook rather than using their auto feature it now works properly and only alerts me, when new email arrives.

there truly seems to be a problem with the appointments. My life is more email and task rather than appointment oriented, so I have limited exposure to it. I did however notice, that an appointment, which I entered for the same day, did alert via the watch, however appointments, which had previously been entered for future days did not alert.

I cannot be sure, if this is a true bug or just something odd, since I have only had the watch for a few days but I will be looking out for this particular behaviour now.

To show SmartWatchM again after hiding you have to hold the left top button (FF) on the watch.;)

There is the option to Autostart the program after a reset or similar. You can choose this during installation or in settings. This feature however is not working for me, because the bluetooth connection is likely slower establishing itself than SmartWatchM. So I have resolved to simply start-up SmartwatchM after a reset. It will then come up properly and asks to push a button on the watch to establish communication. Thereafter everything works fine.:cool:

I just tested my headset and it works as usually. It's a Plantronics Discovery 665.
But is it right that when I'm calling the watch lost there connection? After the call I got the connected logo again.

IM+ is consistently one of the top 10 best selling programs at Handango, Shape Services can probably help you out where to find and pick the required info.:)

IM Notifications would be a great addition. The problem is there are so many IM clients. I am using CommonTime's Chat client for Sametime. When a new IM arrives the client generates an Info Notification. Actually, it would be excellent if smartWatchM could intercept any Info, Alert, Warning notification and send it to the watch (I am referring to the pop-ups that are implemented by Window Mobile - i.e. they are listed in "Other Sounds"). Then we would get notifications on the watch for many general events such as Low Battery, NewsBreak RSS notifications etc. This general capability would work with a lot of different software including some IM clients and would provide a lot of useful notifications on the watch.

Moneytoo, this is my observation of using Bt headsets (I have many of them including SE DS980, Sony DR-BT10CX, Moto S9) with smartWatchM. All of them play well with the watch connected when I am playing music using Coreplayer, tcpmp, and even Audio Manager. It seems the problem is ONLY with WM Player. And this is the problem: The sound to the headset stutters at the begining of each song for about 5 seconds and plays on smoothly untill it ends. The next song starts for a second, and then enters stutter mode for another 5 seconds before stabilising again. I have not tested it with calls, but when the phone is in the stutter mode it also becomes extremely slow when I am opening a file or some other operation. I suspect that communicating the song title to the watch has to do with it. I also know that WM player is a huge memory hog. You can check how much RAM you have before and during music playback with WM player and compare with the other players.

I hope you can find a solution to that problem, or get the song information to display with the other players, preferably Coreplayer, and by implication TCPMP :)

I haven't noticed any degradation in the sound quality with my BT headset on my Sprint Mogul PPC-6800, but my MBW-150 vibrates as it loses its BT connection roughly once a minute while I'm on a call. :(

When I installed smartWatchM, the only COM ports that worked were COM0 and COM2. I have tried and get the same results with both. Are any Mogul users able to use any other COM ports?

Moneytoo: I think there is a big memory leak. I am running v0.2.0.3. When smartWatchM starts it uses about 800KB of memory. After 5 minutes it uses about 5MB. After 30 minutes it uses about 14MB. Not too long after that, windows kills the process.

First off.... wow! I've been ogling these watches for too long. To the point where I almost (but not quite) considered purchasing a crappy SE phone just so I could use this cool watch.

The fact that you have not only managed to replicate the functionality, but extend it... I bow down to you! :)

Now, I don't own any of these watches - yet - but I am now definitely going to buy one (they should really give you commission...). The Question is: which one?

Personally, I really prefer the styling of the MBW-100 over all of the MBW-150s, but you say that it has "limited functionality". I've read through all of the posts, but I can't quite figure out what the latest info is regarding this - what exactly do you mean by "limited"? I understand (perhaps wrongly) that you thought you could use pixel fonts to recreate the 2 line display of the MBW-150 on the MBW-100? And maybe the other functions too?

Perhaps you could update your table at the beginning ("Current Status") to include not only SE phones vs. WM phones, but also each of the main watch lines and what they can do? Or have more info in the "Compatible Watch" section? Either would be much appreciated!

Moneytoo: I think there is a big memory leak. I am running v0.2.0.3. When smartWatchM starts it uses about 800KB of memory. After 5 minutes it uses about 5MB. After 30 minutes it uses about 14MB. Not too long after that, windows kills the process.

Try it with this version - sWM app 2 (http://www.smartmadsoft.com/temp/smartwatchm_appoint2.cab). If the memory will stay at some decent level, than it's fine. If not, test this - sWM app 3 (http://www.smartmadsoft.com/temp/smartwatchm_appoint3.cab).


WhiteMonkey: The 2-lined text has no scrolling on MBW-100 so sometimes it doesnt display as much information as on MBW-150.
The navigation throught the menu isn't that fast and comfortable as with MBW-150.

Yeah, it still works.

Try if the test logo works. If so, try renaming your logo to test_logo.nol and see if it will display or not.
The number must match exactly. Go to the sWM menu "Last call" info and see what number (format) does it show.

For me the autostart option is quite important. I use Spb Backup for a daily backup of my PPC. The pin would be insert automatically by Spb after the backup the watch is again connected but the app didn't start again although I checked "Autostart" in "Settings".

After reading this thread, I decided to take the plunge and buy the MBW-150 "regular edition."

General Impressions

1. Moneytoo, along with pcfixitman, have done an awesome job in making this a totally fantastic device. I have gotten SWM working, and everything works as advertised, although see a few small caveats below. I am totally blown away by how cool this is. The screen shots don't do it justice. Very well designed and functional.

2. I thought the watch might be heavy and cumbersome, not so. Quite comfortable. A little on the large side, but generally stylish looks.

3. I have an Athena (HTC Advantage), which is a monster. I was relying on a Jabra BT8010 to vibrate and provide "remote" functionality. That is totally primitive next to the MBW-150.

4. Settings in the program work well.

Installation Experience

Getting it to work was challenging. Here were the "keys" to my success on the Advantage:

1. Follow the directions in post 1 exactly.

2. Adjust the registry settings to set up COM1, as suggested by paultnl, since COM6 seems not to be available on the Advantage. (I had no luck with the configuration program, did this using Resco File Explorer.) Changes:
First key, change PORT to COM1
Second key, change name to BTD_COM1 and change index to 1.

3. I'm not sure if this step was necessary, but it seemed to work. (Coincidence?) I kept getting IOException errors. After checking around, I installed .NET CF3.5 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e3821449-3c6b-42f1-9fd9-0041345b3385&displaylang=en
After that the errors stopped. Mostly.

4. The following suggestion (linked from Post 1) on startup procedure on the phone was necessary for me:

Caveats/Suggestions
As I said to begin with, the concept and execution are excellent! All features have worked as advertised. I do have a few small items that I haven't quite worked out. Maybe it's a bug, maybe I don't quite understand.

1. Reconnection seems to be an issue. I had it working last night. Walked out of range, but it wouldn't reconnect when I came back in range. In fact, nothing I did would reconnect. I finally deleted the pairing and repaired. Then it worked. It would be great if this could improved, or maybe someone can enlighten me.
((EDIT: Just now went through a successful disconnect/reconnect. First time! Maybe this will be a good sign!))

2. Appointments do work. But it seems like the next appointment won't show until the current one is finished. It would be nice to scroll to upcoming ones...

3. WMP option didn't work that well. But not a big deal for me, actually couldn't care less since I use CorePlayer.

4. The volume control/select method is a little cumbersome. It does work, but hard to hit the feature you want to times.

5. It would be nice if the setting would revert to the last event. That is, if a text message comes in, hitting middle key would bring that info. Just a thought. ((EDIT: Moneytoo just pointed out that hitting upper right three times will give the last message.))

6. Documentation on the phone and program are "sparse". Took a little experimentation. Here's the quick guide:
* Lower right key: Set watch modes -- BT on/off, etc. (Upper right key toggles the mode)
* Upper right key: Display date, date, SWM current info by successive taps.
* Upper/lower left key: "Volume controls" -- use these to select what function you want to display. Length of bar corresponds to the "numbers" in post 1, but the numbers aren't shown. To make the function appear:
* Middle left key: Invoke SWM function. (Note: if displays date or time, hit upper right key to bring it back)

Summary

The combination of this watch and SWM is totally awesome. I feel so Dick Tracy/Star Trek/... Even better, it really works and is really useful! A little "donation" to keep up the excellent work will follow. Awesome work, you guys!

Dentist-Date of 15 o'clock for 16 o'clock. Other dates between this 15 - 16 o'clock is at the MBW-150 become NOT shown / reminds. At the PPC already however.

I am using 2.0.2. A few notes:

Appointment reminders are generally working. There are some issues when an appointment overlaps, but I can't work out a pattern. It may have something to do with when one is a subset of the other, but I'm not sure.

When overlapping appointment occur, the one shown under option 1 seems be the oldest active appointment, except maybe near the end of the appointment?? Again, I'm struggling to find the pattern.

E-mail/SMS notification is working well, but option 2 (e-mail/sms info) seems to give the latest SMS, doesn't seem to keep track of e-mail.

Triple press on upper right retrieves last displayed message, from what I can tell. A nice feature to get back to retrieve latest notification quickly.

No problem with memory leak, but watch battery seems to be draining -- about 1/3 in 7 hours.

Question: What happens when there are overlapping announcements (e-mail comes in the same time an appointment reminder is set to go off)? I suspect this may be the cause of some missed notices.

Suggestion: It would be nice to have some sort of scroll ability to go back through recent messages... but I understand there are only so possibilities.

Summary: First full day at work with this, and I am finding it very useful!

Create a shortcut in StartUp folder if you want to load sWM on every WM restart.

I dont know about the overlapping (havent tested yet). But that's true - sWM reminds only the latest event, whatever it is (appointment, mail, sms, missed call...).

If there is unread sms it displays it, otherwise e-mail is displayed.

i bought the se mbw-150 once i came across this thread 2 days ago.
the installation of the smartWatchM v0.2.0.2 as well as the pairing with my HTC Touch went pretty smooth.
however, when i run the tests for SMS, E-mail & 2-line Text, the watch only display the message icon without any text.

on the HTC Touch, the console shows

I have an MBW-150 and a Bluetooth USB device in my windows PC. I have been attempting to write a simple application that runs on my PC and communicates to the watch via a bluetooth connection. I have read through your posts and those by pcfixitman, and this information has been extremely helpful.

Currently I can pass text to the watch via +CLIP. I can pass graphic data via *SETBC.

I have seen in your posts that you can pass a logo graphic to the watch display that does not include the play graphic |> on the far right of the display. I think you are doing this with the +GCLIP AT command.

I have a need to pass a graphic image to the display without the |> play graphic on the far right of the display like I get when I use the *SETBC command.

Can you direct me as to how to do this? Is it with a +GCLIP? If so, what is the sequence of AT commands I need to use for +GCLIP?

I have tried the following in an attempt to light-up the whole display:

+CIEV:2,1
+GCLIP:0, ”FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF” (24 ‘F’s for 96 bits all turned on)
+GCLIP:1, ”FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF”
…

However, this does not work.

I truly appreciate any guidance you can give me as to how to place a pure graphic image (as you do with your logo graphics) on the MBW-150 display via AT commands, without any other watch imposed graphic images (like the |> play graphic) being added to the display along with my graphic image.

stripping the email address is likely not a good idea. There are some emails, which come through with just the first name and some without any name, so in that case the email address would definitely be required.;)

True. I use activesync with an exchange server, so the full name always comes through. Maybe moneytoo can implement a registry key that can turn the display of the email address on/off.... :)

"smartwatchm_appointment.cab" fix (most of) my "Appoinment Notify" Problems, but has a Big RAM/Memory problem ....., it devour 12-14 MB of my RAM :(

I still have lot of problems with the autostart option. After a Softreset the app didn't run as before. I did an entry in startup and also selected autostart in settings. But after a Softreset a still have to start the app manually and press a button at the watch. After that the app runs completely.
Maybe you could add a solution in the next version.

Thanks for the quick response! :) Here is another thing I noticed while trying to look at the settings to see if there was an option for the time zone thing.

I have smartWatchM set to hide when connected. It shows in my recent program list, but clicking it there doesn't bring the app back up. The only way I can find to access it is to reboot and look at the settings before I connect the watch.

I think I used to be able to bring it back up this way in previous versions. Am I missing something or is this another bug? I have switched to minimize on connect for now.

my wifi works fine, I have deleted the com1 key in the registry but it is still the same, I know it is only the sony ericsson headset that has this issue, but I would really appreciate it if you find a fix, as stated I will send it to you to test if necessary

at first I thought it strange that the only headset that would not work with this SE watch was an SE headset, but now that I have paired both the headset and the watch to my gf's SE w880i I see that the 2 are very closely linked. The screens are a mimic of each other as are the controls, im guessing but I think they might be coming from the same driver, if that is the case then the only way to get them to work together on our phones would be if you incorporated the drivers for the headset into your software. at the moment I am using the jetware drivers for my headset as this was the only way to get caller ID working

I'm gonna buy MBW-150 this week and i'm really closely sticked to my SE DS-220 stereo headset, i was guessing, if those two gadgets would work togother and as i can see, it seems to be a problem, wouldn't be solution to disable the AVRCP for the headset in registry or force just the headsets A2DP?\

I deleted these keys and installed v0.2.1.0. The time stamp for messages on the watch is fixed, thanks! :)

On previous versions, while on the phone with my Bluetooth headset, the watch would lose its signal every minute or so. On this version, the watch didn't lose its connection, but my headset did! :eek: I've only been on one call so far and will continue to monitor it, but could this be due to something that changed in this version?

I got the Sony Ericsson HBH DS970 when the watch and the headsed are both conected, the music stutters,what ever I use WMP or TCPMP the incoming and outgoing call sound is bad, as soon as the watch is disconected the headset works fine.
How ever
If I have the headset connected to my computer ( with a dongle with widcomm BT stack) the headset will switch to my phone if there is incoming calls no problem and back to the computer when the call is finish, all this with the watch connected.
Said this, the watch works with Jabra BT8010 which have display and vibrate function and if If Iam not mistaken it does works also with the Nokia HS-12W both A2DP headsets

I would like to know if are any problems, also is any body using WM6.1? I will test that rom soon and wil be interesting to know if there is any issues just to eliminate posible problems from the list.

Thanx for answer, the problem in your case seems to be in the DS970 combined with the watch, i guess those two things are using the exact same technology for the display and that could mess up the things a bit, i just hope it will work for me, since i don't have any display on my headset and so i should use only A2DP profile :) and if not, i hope moneytoo will look into it in time :)

BTW about WM 6.1 - i had Swiftblades roms in my touch for a long time (from 3.0 to 5.0) and now, i have switched to CloudyFa's SHADOW 2.1 (TE) and my biggest problem - my headset was disconnecting after each call and i had to reconnect it manually, completley disappeared (in Swiftblades BLUE Elves 5.0 (his first WM 6.1 release. the headset disconnected only after i pressed the end button myself, if the other person hang up, the headset remained connected), so guess that upgrade to WM 6.1hould be just could make things better

With the new version I got an error when it should starts of its own after a softreset.

Well the thing is.. the app WAITS for the watch to initiate the connection. That's why it tells you to push a button on the watch. So.. it would be technically impossible. I'm sure moneytoo would have automated this if it was possible.:rolleyes:

For me my PPC did a backup every day at 18:00. But now I have to start sWM manually, it would be nice when it start itself and I only have to push a button on the watch. But the autostart option didn't run very well.
One time the app start with an error and closed, other time I have to click "Start" or start the app completely by myself.

Since I received the watch about 2 weeks ago, I have charged it three times and the last charge is still showing full. Charging was done within a little less than 2 hours and the watch showed full every time before disconnecting it from the charger. One thing I noticed is that the battery indicator shows full and 2/3 for a long time but once past that it seems to go down in a hurry:(.

I did have some issues with notifications from the watch, and when I activate the "sounds" there was a constant symphony from the connect-disconnect cycle, especially when connected to pc by activesync. I tested this and after 2 or 3 cycles without activesync it stopped. I am now connected via activesync and there is no such sound notifications. :cool: Will keep it on to the office and report later in the day.

Update: I still have disconnection notification on the watch although the phone remains silent :(

@ Moneytoo, which modes of the watch do you think require the most power, for example I would imagine RSS being the worst as there is a continuous data stream , and also continual use of the display, but which others have a continuous stream of data and which only send data when necessary ?
at the moment I have been linked to an SE phone for 14 hours and im still on full power, but this is because the SE phone does nothing, it only seems to poll the watch when there is a state change, otherwise the watch is sat idle, I much prefer having the additional info your s/ware provides and I dont mind the regular charging but I need to know if my watch is defective or not so I can send it back within the time frame.

The behaviour of sWM is exactly the same. The battery draining issue must be caused by other software (Jetware definitely could cause this) or by WM itself. Just try it yourself - shut down sWM and the battery life should be the same. Additionaly you can delete even the com port and leave the watch connected.

Im using an ameo with the original rom, and have the jetware extention installed and have just had to charge the mbw150 for the 2nd time after leaving it on 24/7 for the past 5 days, I also have paired a lg hbm700 and have no problems at all, just unsure of all the functions as I am unable to find any instructions on the thread, I think i have sussed everything bar controlling WMP.

I am using 2 different MBW-100's, the metal band and the Black Plastic band, same formware on both.

Both are completely drained after 5-8 hours of being connected to my HTC X7500(Athena)

I do not have Jetware or any other BT software loaded.

I do have a Jabra BT8010 paired and connected in parallel
with the MBW-100.

I can test anything you need me to test, I am also going to try pairing one of the 100's with my Tytn II to see if I get the same results.

I am using HTC Advantage with PK3 ROM and Jabra BT8010. Experiencing fairly rapid battery drain, although it has leveled off somewhat.

Also note that I am having some issues with reconnection, if I get too far away for too long. Only solution I have found is to reboot. Restarting the program won't help. Any suggestions?

I am using a HTC Touch Dual with MBW-150 Executive. The Bluetooth connection between the devices is on 24/7. The phone radio is off during the night, i.e. no emails and such.

Im using an ameo with the original rom, and have the jetware extention installed and have just had to charge the mbw150 for the 2nd time after leaving it on 24/7 for the past 5 days, I also have paired a lg hbm700 and have no problems at all, just unsure of all the functions as I am unable to find any instructions on the thread, I think i have sussed everything bar controlling WMP.
What rrs feed program do you all use also hows the weather side of things work too?

The weather information is taken from the HTC Home plugin and the RSS feed either from HTC Hub or Newsbreak (basically the same program).

You can either wade through this thread or search it for more info;)

after removing the CE-Star, sWM works perfectly.
I've upgraded the sWM to 0.2.1.0. tried testing sWM without/with/without (in that sequence) CE-Star and the result is the same.

I was wondering... when the watch receives a new email/SMS notification, it displays the envelope icon for a couple of seconds, then it displays the actual message. I was wondering, is it possible to shorten the time period the envelope is displayed or take it out alltoghether ? Or does the watch control that ?

* in ocasions the communication with the watch is lossed, and no autoreconnect
* in other ocasions the smartwathm loss the connection with the watch and the click on a watch button don't restablishes...

So I tested with my Tytn II last night till this morning for about 11 hours and the MBW-100 still shows full battery strength.

Its looking like something specific to the Athena X7500.

Any ideas?

@ moneytoo, I upgraded to the latest version of your s/ware, I deleted my old pairing and incoming com port, and set up from fresh with 0.2.1.0, after pairing and verifying comms I exited your s/ware ! can you confirm that my watch is still bluetooth connected to my phone ?

at the moment if I press top right twice for the time, it shows the correct time, (possibly using internal chronometer) but he bluetooth symbol on the clock screen does not have the <> connection symbol next to it ! also if I press a media button I just get the bluetooth search <<<<B>>>>, However when I did exit your s/ware I did not get an out of range notification on the watch.

with the newly version, in some ocasions the vibration and animation for the OnWatchConnectionLossed event is not executed.
in this case, the autoreconnect function dont works properly.

I did an autostart entry for sWM but when it should started automatic it got the following error:

i just noticed that apointement (reminded or not) are notified in the watch each time that i am on call with some one and a few minutes after hang up call, it notifies my appointment at time (for exemple appointment at 14h >> watch notifie my at 14h)

One thing I did notice about the new one was that this one arrived with the battery totaly empty the other two arrived with a partial charge. I am now following the initial charging instructions to the letter and will report back how I get on.

my mbw - 150 battery time is something like 3 o 4 weeks, having bt of on watch each night and quite all day in sunday

my battery was half charged when I received it !

So far I have had it on an SE phone for 26 Hrs continuous and it is still showing 100% then WITHOUT recharging I have connected it to my phone, but not connected my headset (so not using jetware) and also exiting smartwatch, it is definitely connected, because if I turn my phone off I get the lost connection indicator on the watch.
So far it has been 16 Hrs and still showing 100% total runtime so far 42 Hrs, I must admit I have also switched over to the new version of smartwatch, and I completly cleared out the old install including the paring to the watch so this is using new settings in my registry, I dont know if any of those settings could affect power though, like broadcast strength or something so next to try will be turning on smartwatch without my headset to see if it still lasts !

PS my old registry setting were created using the .reg files

I have previously reported issues where my MBW-150 would lose its connection every minute or so while I was on a call with my Bluetooth headset. Last night I upgraded my Sprint Mogul to the new DCD WM6.1 GPS ROM. The watch didn't lose its connection, but my headset beeped and lost its connection about a minute or two into the conversation on a couple different calls.

Previously I always followed the directions to pair the watch first, then the headset. Do you think it would help if I paired the headset first? Naturally, I need the headset to work consistently, and can live with occasional disconnections of the watch.

Any other ideas of what to try to get these two devices to coexist with each other?

Ok im still testing but I think I have narrowed down the battery issue to an incompatibility wth my headset !
I managed 26 hrs on an se phone, 22 hours on my athena connected to bluetooth but without smart watch running, and 3.5 hours ago I enabled smartwatch.
All in all my swatch has been running for 51.5 hours continuously and is still showing 100% battery I will keep an eye on the battery with smartwatch but I think it is my headset causing problems!

I tested last night with BTwatch and the battery drain isnt nearly as bad, i went for 5+ hours with no noticable drain, then i connected a headset as well and the overnight drain with both connected is about 20% gone on the watch, with SmartWatch it was 100% drain.

Strike that last comment, when I woke up I pressed the top button to see the battery status and it was 80% but 3 min later the watch vibrated and wen to sleep due to a dead battery.

It is looking like something going on with having a headset paired and connected at the same time.
