I'm looking forward to buy a stereo bt headset. Can anyone suggest one? I prefer a in-ear headset.

There are 3 pretty good headsets that I know of:
Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 (In Ear, Pendant Style)
Nokia HS-12W (In Ear, Pendant Style)
Jabra BT8010 (On Ear, Removable Left ch)

All are good quality and support Caller ID on a front display, the
Jabra is a convertable that allows you to remove the left channel all together.

The Jabra seems to be the least expensive at around $55 street, the other two are over $100 street.

The Jabra works well for me and the audio quality is ok, but the bass is limited.

I tested last night with BTwatch and the battery drain isnt nearly as bad, i went for 5+ hours with no noticable drain, then i connected a headset as well and the overnight drain with both connected is about 20% gone on the watch, with SmartWatch it was 100% drain.

that is the conclusion I have come to, mine died at some point during the last 8 Hrs after a marathon 51.5 hour run without a headset connected, but I can't tell exactly when I as I was unable to keep an eye on it ! the whole time.

The weather information is taken from the HTC Home plugin and the RSS feed either from HTC Hub or Newsbreak (basically the same program).

I tried today with the TytnII and both the MBW-100 and my BT8010, I had them connected all day and the battery still shows %100.

I am going to try a factory WM6.0 rom on the Athena today to see if its something with PK Black Touch 3.0 ROM.

BTW, the drain with BTWatch 0.1.8 was less but still faster than a connection to a Sony Phone.

I will post my findings later.

If you use Newsbreak you have to modify the registry - search this thread for instructions, they were first posted when RSS first appeared for the SWM. There is however one caveat. If you only have one news channel selected it will not show on the watch. The RSS feed then will be transmitted at random. An interesting gag but not very useful.

cool I have tried just connecting it without my headset, but unfortunately I think it will die at the 14 hour mark again !
I don't think the headset was the issue !

Well, this is a "feature" of Samsung/Asus devices. (Even when you close sWM and delete the COM port, the display backlight will still be turning on.) Samsung Blackjack has the same problem.

Well, tried the Factory HTC rom last night and this morning,
and no luck, same results, it is draining very quickly with any ROM on the HTC X7500(Athena).

So, not sure what I can test next, I have the same results with BTWatch, although it seems to be a slower drain rate than with SmartWatch.

I have no issues with my TytnII, it seems to last much longer.

Could it be an issue with the BT Stack on the Athena?

seriuously, using smartwatch with latest version i don't see this probleme
But... today i left my watch home and all i can say is :
less bateri drain
better audio connextion with bt carkit
kaiser is a little little more responsive

for appointment i still have the same probleme , it would certainly be great if it could be fix

so... what to say or do ???
smartwatch is free, moneytoo did this for free (lot of work), sony watch souldn't work with window mobil, and smartwatch does much more with WM device than any SE device !
so even if there is some problemes, each one have the choice
mine has been made : usefull enought for me so i accept little bugs (but i 'd love it perfect certainly!)

nobody should blame moneytoo
if sonyericson gives moneytoo 20000€ i think moneytoo would have reseons to make smartwatch perfect

so i think it will be a good idea to make a petition and send it to Sonyericson for ask them to support moneytoo (with material and money)

the recent small but steady improvements have made this program already a joy to use. There are a few items though, which I would like to see changed/added or updated:

a) Appointments: I have a number of repeating appointments, which do not show up. That by the way may be the crux of some of the other comments.
b) Email: Currently it is based on pOutlook. Of course it works but pOutlook is somewhat limited. Can you change it such, that we can use Flexmail as well?
c) RSS: Currently this is just a demonstration of the capability. Can it be improved, that only one chosen feed will be shown, whenever it is refreshed?
d) Selection: Would it be possible instead of volume bars to show menu choices?
e) Notification: Can you add a feature to show the WM notification? That could certainly solve "a" plus possibly some others.

Again great work and thanks for all hours of work you have put in.:D

So if you have a smartphone, feel free to test it if you need these notifications and let me know if this is the right way.

I realise from your profile that English is probably not your first language but you realy should learn to moderate your posts so as not to appear so rude and demanding. As has been pointed out, Moneytoo has put a lot of time and effort in producing a killer application which I, and others, have happily donated to for his efforts so far. If a particular function does not work for you, a simple respectful statement of the facts should be enough to get the issue put on the bug list. Use of the explanation mark and other "demanding" phrases or punctuation should be avoided so as not to cause offense.

Hoping you understand this post in the good natured spirit that it is writen.

hi GuardianZX9, I haven't a sony watch and cannot replicate your issues. But I use a BT8010 headset and my expertise is it drains really fast the battery. Maybe we have an issue on how the athena use the bluetooth communication.

And about sony watch/Athena, is your expertise correct using together? I am thinking to purchase the watch in order to have vibration when mail incomes.

I was trying to find some way to connect-disconnect automatically bluetooth. Any idea should be appreciated.

sorry, my post was unclear. My battery drain is not in the BT8010. I have the problem with the Athena battery. Now, if i have bt activated for calls reception and independent of the number of calls I have, the pda dies in no more 4 hours...

Beginner, I get it now, I think you probably have a bad battery in your Athena, I normally get 10+ hours of regular use, I can use my X7500 all day without recharging and I have 20-40% left at the end of the day.


My battery issue is with the Watch itself, the watch is fully drained after just a few hours conected to the Athena.

I love this app and contributed early on, but now I'm having serious issues with both smartWatchM and btWatch when talking on my Bluetooth headset. Whenever I'm using the phone, the watch vibrates and loses its signal about once every minute. Eventually, after 4-8 minutes, the headset beeps and loses its signal and I have to scramble to grab the phone to talk directly. I also notice more "crackling" in my ear piece when the headset does work.

This only seemed to start after upgrading to the official Sprint 6.0 GPS ROM and later to the DCD 6.1 GPS kitchen on my Sprint Mogul (PPC-6800). This has been happening with many versions of both apps since the OS upgrades, so I suspect its something different with Bluetooth in the newer OS versions.

Does anyone else have this issue and/or can suggest a solution? I can't imagine that this is a known issue when using two Bluetooth devices at the same time.

Note: When I switched apps, I uninstalled one and rebooted before installing the other. I've even reflashed a few times to be sure all traces of the other app were gone.

I just installed the latest Sprint ROM for my Mogul 3 or 4 days ago (GPS - Sweet!) but also found some drawbacks. The new rom uses an advanced power management scheme to maximize battery when using bluetooth devices. Basically it seems to queue commands and transmit them in batches. So far I have had no luck in finding a way around the issues it causes with btWatch. For me it causes an extreme delay between button presses on the watch and the corresponding responses from the phone. I also now have the problem with the watch disconnecting shortly after accepting a phone call and audio quality degrading, but my earpiece never disconnects.

On the bright side, it has greatly increased battery life of my MBW-100! With the old rom it would last 18+ hours with heavy use and development testing, now it has not needed a charge for 4 days of use and development (still shows 50% remaining).

I am currently working on a new connection scheme to work around the issues caused by the latest ROM releases (I'm sure MoneyToo is doing the same) and will update you if I find a solution.

As a side note, I have also noticed that the A2DP connection for my headset also disconnects entirely when in a call and reconnects after hanging up (did not do this on any previous rom) even without btWatch or SWM installed.

Unfortunately, I am still at a pre-release state for the 0.1.9 version.

Here is a new test version I would like you to try. I implemented a "keep-alive" thread to try and stop the latest versions of WM from imparing the connection. In my tests this allows for normal menu and status use, incoming call, email and sms notifications. More than likely there will be distortion on headset audio, however - but I will continue to work on that.

Please let me know if this helps at all, or if it causes all new problems with these newer ROMS.

Great job Moneytoo. I have been running with smartwatchm_sp.cab this morning and it's working well. I really like being able to reorder the menu - very nice.
The appointment notifications are now synced with windows better. There are no notification on subsequent appointment reminders yet.

actually just tried it on mine and it the other way around for me. Long press starts the scrolling and short one stops it. Whilst I have it set up I hardly ever use it.

I had a similar problem and I found that if you change the path you have to exit the watch program then start it again for the change to be applied

Etymotic has a reputation for good sound, and they diminish external noise with 35-40 db. Not pretty, no mic. If you have an Advantage they will match it, though :)

I'm new to WM, and just got a Qtek 8500 and the MBW-150. Paired them up well (it didn't work with my SE P800, even though it's listed as compatible by SE. Theyp pair up and then the phone crashes, crashed 5 times in a row), and got most functions to work. What is somewhat odd, I cannot get the music track, and volume to work. I checked in the submenus on the phone and I saw that even though the hardware buttons on the Qtek steers music playback, it seemed that there were no hardware buttons "officially" assigned. That's as well as I can describe it right now as I don't have access to the phone.

Then I connected a Plantronics BT stereo headset. Sound was intermittent, perhaps due to the SE MBW-150 being connected simultaneously. Then I turned the headset off, and... no more sound out of the phone speaker (although the ring signal still works). I looked through profiles, sounds, and tried changing, turned the phone off, but to no avail. Any ideas?

PBL1, curious, if you press the top button twice do you see the double arrows next to the BT icon? When my watch is paired, I get the double arrows whether or not SmartWatch is running.

I am thinking that there is a bug in the com port section of the BT stack that is keeping the port open even with no data flowing.

for me, I can pair my watch with out smartwatch running and it lasts for days ! but if I start smartwatch I will get 14 HRs, when paired WITHOUT smartwatch running I DO NOT get the <> indicator next to the bluetooth sign on the screen, however I can prove that it is connected because if I soft reset my phone, I get the lost connection notification on the watch a few moments later.

Those of you that believe they are getting the <> indicator without Smartwatch running I believe you are mistaken, I think smartwatch is hiding, you can prove this by pressing and holding the bottom left button on your watch, if smartwatch appears, then it was just hiding on your phone !

...this function is a Joypad-remote only.SmartWatchM receives Vol-UpDown,Play and Forward, on the Phone Up,Down,Action and Right.
You can use this as Joystick-remote if MediaPlayer is active, other apps too but no Keylock,no Screensaver.

I've ditched CE-Star and installed an alternate Chinese input software called A4 (http://www.a4user.com/A4_down_sip.asp).
so far, I have not encountered the problem I had with CE-Star.



after removing the CE-Star, sWM works perfectly.
I've upgraded the sWM to 0.2.1.0. tried testing sWM without/with/without (in that sequence) CE-Star and the result is the same.

I'm testing the app for about one month now and have some betterments for you.
-Try to improve a stable bt connection, I lost it sometimes quite often.
-Might it be possible to use an other music player except wmp? This stupid player need over 40MB ram and slow down everything. Did you know the Mort Player (http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=page&entry=mp_overview&action=view&menu=4)? Maybe this would be a good alternative.
-The last thing I want to mention is displaying of messages. Might it be possible to display the whole sms text? For now it only displays the text as long as the sender name is. And for example "can't" would be shown as "can?t" and "!?." wouldn't be shown at all.

But all in all a very nice app, keep on improving it.

Hi to all and big compliments to Moneytoo for the application.

I started using it as I received my bt watch last week and I am experiencing very rapid battery draining (14 h approx) like othe guys with the Athena.

Here the steps I made to try to solve the problem:

I tried Moneytoo suggestion about GPS Intermediate driver (added value in the registry).
I removed all of the BT pairing in the PDA and repaired MBW only (no headset so this lead me to think the problem is headset independent).
I test different com ports.

Actually high draining is still there (11-15h, far from the 3 weeks duration time experienced by other users).

Is anybody out there experiencing correct duration time using the Athena?

If yes please report your ROM and radio versions.


Few words to Moneytoo: i agree with bremair about the fact that having the whole SMS txt to be displayed on the watch would be very useful (will avoid reaching the Athena to read the complete TXT).
Also number of vibration on some kind of alerts (calls and sms) would be useful (skying or riding a scooter could let you miss a single shot of vibrations from the watch).
Vibration on notifications would be great :D unfortunately now I could not rely on it to wake-up as in the night my watch should be charging :(

To find out what’s the cause of this draining I need you to export the registry from your device.
1) Export the registry using Resco Explorer (.reg). (Only if you have hard reseted device or the exported file contains no personal information)
or 2) Copy all .rgu files in \Windows directory
or 3) Give me a link to a ROM you are using and I will try to export the registry myself

I am running the original t mobile rom 1.12.110.6 and radio 1.32.00.00 on my ameo and also have paired a lg i style hbm-700 and my kenwood multimedia screen in my car, The i-style is only switched off when im in the car and the kenwood is the handsfreee and is left paired at all other times along with my mbw-150 and I am getting 4 to 5 days of battery from the watch left on 24/7 along with the ameo.Emails are d/l every 10 minutes so the watch is displaying info at least every 10 mins. I do have the jetware extention installed too.

Perhaps an idea for an improvement or extra feature would be an out of service indication this would be useful in large shopping centers and other places where an out of service notification would help us be aware of the lack of signal.

in an interesting turn of events, I have put the standard win mo 6 rom back on my phone, the only device I have connected is my watch and so far it has lasted longer than ever before and still showing full battery. It is fully connected and with smartwatch running. on the same comport I always used (com 1)

You can find the GPS info as a 10th menu item. If it will work I will add some GPS mode on/off (same as stopwatch, automaticaly updating the GPS data)

Anyway, there is a few buts:
- if GPS Intermediate Driver is active but no GPS signal is available the watch respond really slow (probably affects only external BT GPS)
- the GPS is on the whole time sWM is running so battery can drain more quickly

Moneytoo, have you looked at or experienced the problem of the watch or Bluetooth headset losing its connection during a phone call? I've reported this a few times, but haven't seen a reply yet. (I donated to you a while back, if that matters. ;) )

I use a Sprint Mogul (PPC-6800) and noticed this first on WM 6.0 and now on WM 6.1. I think it's related to the WM Bluetooth stack as on WM 6.0, the watch would vibrate every minute or so as it lost its connection, got it back, and lost it again. Now that I am on WM 6.1, the watch keeps its connection, but the headset loses its connection about a minute into the call, and I have to scramble for the phone before the caller hangs up on me. :(

I didn't like the watch vibrating while using the phone, but it was much preferable to losing the headset connection. As it is now, I have to keep Bluetooth disconnected on my watch, unless I want to show it off to someone. It is completely unusable if I want to talk on the phone with my Bluetooth headset.

If it matters, I'm using a Plantronics M510 headset, and the only COM ports on my Mogul that will connect to the watch are COM0 and COM2. I get the same results with either port, and also get the same results with PCFixitMan's btwatch application.

I'll be glad to do any debugging that might help. :)

What you say makes sense if it was the watch that always disconnected. When I had EVRC (Enhanced Variable-Rate Codec) enabled, which I think is supposed to make the Bluetooth quality better, the headset disconnected instead of the watch. :confused:

hi moneytoo, it works great , you made a very good application except my watch doesn't show the high over sea.

the other question is that i am obtaining it if i start a program as google maps, is there any way to reach directly gps device data without to start a program that use it, as google maps or tomtom. my device is Athena and has internal gps.

OK, there are some differences between my Phones:

HTC Wings:Smartwatchm works well fine, small Soundbug with BTStereoHeadset,sound Interrupts,
HTC StarTrak:Sometimes lost Connection, big Soundbug with BTStereo...,
HTC Tornado:like StarTrak, but better Connection, bad Soundbug...
HTC Typhoon(Amadeus,SDA Music):Like StarTrak,need more testing...

However, the "Bugs" are Device-Specific, most Users here reports problems with Devices with ARM Processors, Qualcomm works better,i think...:cool:

The Soundbug results by "tooo many Devices", because BTStereo needs a constant Stream, sending/receiving Data from other Devices may disturb the StereoStream...

Problems I have:
- times the sound in the headset is bad (looks after move to com0 it has improved)
- I installed google maps and broke the connection with the watch.
- No idea how works the update of the gps data, does it use old records stored in the pda from the last time you use tomtom?
- watch battery doesn't support more that 8 hours. This is a problem (imaging to wear other aditional charger for meetings...)

But I say except the battery drain (looks is due the software rom of my device fault) I consider by the moment a proud user of smartwatch and mbw-150.

I am using the watch with my kaiser with the official ROM,I also pair the device with Parrot 6100 car kit.
The battery life is about one week.The watch usually diconnects when i get a call in the car and the A2DP performance quality is drastically reduced if the watch is connected.(which is not a problem since I can simly disconnect the watch when playing music)
Alerts are working well except for appointments.

All in all this device and software are exceeding my expectations.

I am currently using my TytnII with a Slueuth WM6.1 Rom, BT8010 paired and Jetware, I had to hard reset my BT8010 to fix the A2DP disconnection issue.

But I am seeing at least 2 days from the watch, I will continue testing, I was only getting 6-8 hours with the Athena.

Yes, that's possible. Version 0.2.1.5 is only released as test version to try out the GPS functionality. I recommend to use (for everyday use) 0.2.1.2 or any other that will be released. :)

Why is it that I have to press a button on the watch to create the connection?

When paired with a sony phone it auto connects.

Just curious if there is a way to make this happen automatically.

Yes, there seems to be a bug (when recieved a message during disconection). I think I know what could be the problem.

I have tried making phone call from the application but it didnt work. I think it's bacause this application is not signed. I will try it again with some test certificate later
IM: I have tried only two applications (IM+ and Slick) but I haven't found any way how to get new message state yet.

Yes, I have already installed Google Maps and it's working same as other programs ... all programs find satelites, correct GPS Position Data .....
But the MBW-150 do NOT show these GPS datas on the Display.

Exactly. The pairing and port creating is made only for MS BT Stack. But because the communication is via COM ports there is still a chance. You only have ti figure out how to pair the watch and add new COM port manually (in registry).

My setting is "1 minute" and "forever". But the notification comes times after 1 minute or 5 minutes or times after 8 minutes and longer.

I updated my factory rom on my tmoble ameo at the weekend to the original WM6 tmobile rom and wish I hadnt, prevoiusly I was getting about a week from the mbw150 now its down to 24hrs if im lucky :-( I dont have jetware installed now or any other 3rd party apps other than smartwatchM and htc home.
BTW my istyle is only lasting 2 days too? That used to last 4 or 5 days too?

To change appt time advance, go into calendar options, appointments tab, check the box for "set reminders for new items" then change the advance time in the pull down to what you want, un check the "set reminders" option, exit, and you are good to go. I found this through experimentation and it works for me.

Yes, I do have the watch and even i can pair with my Moto Q GSM.
In Bluetooth manager, it shows BTC1 as inbound com port and com 1 as outbound com port.

I've noticed this version stays connected to the watch. The previous version would disconnect and connect back, constantly. Probably 5-6 times in an 8 hour period. By the way Moneytoo, I'm waiting for the caller logo's to come back... that was a nice feature and I used it a lot, but this new version seems to always display the two line callerid no matter what :)

To anybody who experienced both batteries draining in less than 24h and in one week...

I'm getting very frustrate with the draining problem.
I even hard reset my Ameo/Athena and checked with just the mbw150 connected but no joy. The bluetooth side of the watch never survived more than 8 hrs!

Now I'm considering to service the watch as I experienced even that the watch alone when it has not enough battery to drive the bluetooth and light the display will stop in less than 12 hrs!!! :confused:
Sony Ericsson states that the analog watch should last alone one week more!

Anybody of you who experienced on the Ameo/Athena both long lasting and short lasting charge, what is your experience with the analog watch alone when the bluetooth charge is not enough?
Could you check just leaving it drained for one night?

Anybody of you who succeeded with no excessive draining on the Ameo/Athena (at least one week battery duration) could you state the rom and radio you have loaded? It could help to check if it's rom/radio dependent or just a case of a bunch of defective batteries.

With regards to battery drain

My MBW-150 last at least 2 weeks connected full time to my Blackjack II. However, when I connect to my X7500 running WM6 2.21.405.2 the MBW-150 only lasts for a few hours. Therefore I really dont think this is a problem with the watch or watch battery.

Is anyone running with a WM6 Rom on the X7500 without the battery drain problem? Which Rom is it? Which Com port are you using? And do have other bluetooth devices connected? Thanks.

What radio version has it?

I'm considering upgrading the radio alone to the 1.57 version. Actually it would be for the sole purpose of improving mbw's battery life.
The actual version I have (rom+radio) improved compared to previous and fits my needs (good athena battery, good 3g and hsdp connection, fast response of the device, geocaching...)

I thought it was just my phone that the registry keys were deleted on update.
Until I resolve this I would recommend you to backup setting in registry and restore after update or extract the new version exe file from the cab and overwrite existing installation.

One more thing:
I was thinking of a new possible feature. Add new menu item (or more) on the watch and let user to define some actions. Use to:
- run defined program (exe file, mortscript file or anything else)
- read first two lines of a defined txt file (this may be output from your running program or script)
- load and display content of a html page (this would let you to display any information you want - weather, stocks... it's up to yours web programming skills. limits is two short lines)

What do you think of this?

iPaq 6xx User could NOT use COM6 because GPS use this COM Port.

NOW, I use COM4 and it works (not all Features, e.g. Appointment notify do NOT work ....).

Very very good ideas there ! i'll try and make it compatible to my app Callfirewall by sending txts like 'call rejected' , 'msg sent' etc.

How about customizing the Menu from swm itself. I am not using all the features and so it becomes difficult to navigate from the watch. I am sure many people would like that.

I've got the watch and tried it out with my wife's Startrek. Most functions worked. I'd like to get the new X7510 Advantage. As it seems that device will lack hardware buttons the 7500 and 7501 used to have (OK button, windows buttons, web-browser activation button, joystick etc), could it be possible to use your software and the MBW-150 to replace those removed hardware buttons on the 7510? I would like to be able to have e.g. the following functions:

1. Soft reset
2. Locking device with one button press
3. Launching a) My Life Organized and (or whatever other note-taking/action listing sw)
4. b) entering new data/actions
5. Turning off screen while device is still on
6. Air plane mode

I thought it was just my phone that the registry keys were deleted on update.
Until I resolve this I would recommend you to backup setting in registry and restore after update or extract the new version exe file from the cab and overwrite existing installation.

What radio version has it?

I'm considering upgrading the radio alone to the 1.57 version. Actually it would be for the sole purpose of improving mbw's battery life.
The actual version I have (rom+radio) improved compared to previous and fits my needs (good athena battery, good 3g and hsdp connection, fast response of the device, geocaching...)

Anyone experienced short autonomy on the analog clock alone (I mean after bluetooth goes off because of low battery)???:confused:

What a strange behaviour! It seems that bluetooth goes not completely off and the high draining rom/radio dependent goes on also when the watch is expected to behave like a standard watch (with batteries driving only the hands).

Anyone else who experiences the same problem with the Athena and WM6.0 (just to exclude the battery problem)?

each of us are looking for diferent uses of the menus. For example for me should be great if you can have a list of lost calls and some sort agenda and can phone from the watch.

But the best solution, if is affordable, should be open parametrization from each user, is it possilbe? MAybe some fix options where you can select what do you want (phone calls, gps, rss, etc) and assignation to buttons of combination of buttons in the watch.

Overall, this is working pretty well. I have occasional problems connecting but the following sequence generally works: quit SWM; BT off on watch; start SWM; BT on on watch.

One small issue I noticed while traveling: SWM does not pick up changes in time zone. I had to shut down SWM and restart it to get changes in time zone. This should be easy to fix???

It would be a great help to the 'battery draining problem with athena WM6' if you could state your complete device configuration:

-ROM
-Radio
-com port you are using with SWM, is it secure connection or not? (modify on com port in bluetooth config)
-Extra bluetooth device paired and used
-If you have and use ad2p can you hear continuous streaming music from mediaplayer while mbw is connected?
-Any change made from standard configuration?

Two applications/user actions can be defined. You can either simply put shortcut named userfile1.lnk (userfile2.lnk) to the smartWatchM directory or edit userfile1 (userfile2) keys in registry (hklm\software\smartmadsoft\smartwatchm). Browse the watch menu to find UserFile title (run it by holding play button).

PROS:
* I have Moto Q8 GSM and after the registry tweak given by moneytoo I could get it working for the Moto Q which has the Broadcomm / Windcomm Stack.
* I can assure you'll that I works flawlessly with this phone.
* There is no lag as reported earlier ( at times the watch reports about a phone call earlier than the phone itself !!!!!).
* No battery draining of watch as well as phone.

The new features of v0.2.2.0 are working nicely and moneytoo has also incorporated my suggestion of cutomized menu.
I am very happy with how the program is shaping up.

CONS:
1. Appointments are not notified - I think it is more of WM6 standard problem or the problem of .Net framework, nothing to do with SWm as it works flawlessly with a PPC.
2. Application gets killed without intimation - again this is not a problem of SWm it has more to do with the OS.

im still using smartwatch 0.2.1.2
rom =Standard Tmob UK WM6.0
radio = 1.32

not sure about com port, I think i mentioned it in an earlier post as com 1 no modifications, I just let the s/ware set the watch up for me except I chose the com port it tried initially on com 5 or 6 or something but that was already in use, so then I chose com 1.

the only other bluetooth device I have connected is my SE hbh-970 A2DP headset streaming music works fine except for a track change, the text being sent to the watch to indicate the track change makes the music stutter for the first 8 secs of the track (about how long it takes to scroll the track name twice on my watch !)

I am not using jetware, I have not installed anything that could affect this, one thing I will say is that I dont think my music is truly in stereo with this rom, it's more like a high quality mono split (nothing to do with the watch) iirc there is a setting in the reg to force a2dp to really be stereo, but I do not have a reg editer installed at the moment, obviously AP 2 I was using is in true stereo by default.

I only have this rom because I want to get a warranty repair done on my phone, I aint sent it off yet cos im waiting to find out how to downgrade the SPL to standard.

Well ive had the jetware extension installed for a couple of days now and have noticed a slight increase in watch battery life a proberly about 3 hours but still no where near a full 24 hrs or the week I used to get.

Just an idea - but could all the posters to this thread update their signiture to show phone, rom, radio and other blue tooth related products and time the watch lasts this will stop the thread getting bogged down with requests to questions about peoples setup? - just my2 cents.

yes tmobles WM5 was with 1.32 thats the setup I had and used to get a weeks worth of watch battery. (see my signiture)

what program is neaded to use the profile option on volume level 6? I have htc home installed for the RSS feeds working fine but the profile option stays blank on the watch?

@moneytoo any further ideas on the possiblity of a notification on the watch for out of service?

As a quick fix download the the latest version (just updated) and set WMPlayer=0 in the registry to avoid launching WMP.

As for the list - too long and my free time is too short. Sometimes I start Visual Studio, sometimes Wii... :)

Not sure if this has been asked before or not, I have SW setup for a 30 second delay start on boot so my bluetooth stack on the Athena can catch up.

Why is it that I have to press a button on the watch to create the connection?

When paired with a sony phone it auto connects.

Just curious if there is a way to make this happen automatically without pressing a button on the watch?

Also the Vibrate on connect option does not seem to work with the MBW-100 and my Tytn II

I've upgraded yesterday night to radio 1.57 (had to unlock my HTC Athena but in fact was a very easy step with Olipro Hard-SPL - compliments goes to Olipro who made it very simple!).
Now I'm experiencing > 12 h autonomy starting from an MBW not fully loaded.
What didn't improved at all is stereo playback throug bluetooth wich isn't usable (plays only very very very very small shots of the music:().
What is your experience with radio 1.57?

I'll post my new autonomy value as soon as I'll have tested it completely.

So... the UserFiles seemed like a really great idea! Except I couldn't actually figure out what they are good for that wouldn't be just as easy (or easier) to do on the phone.

Then the inspiration hit:
Vijay555 (a genius; see http://Vijay555.com) has a number of little utilities that do things like: dial your phone, send an e-mail or text, reset or lock or dim or unlock, etc., etc.

So I downloaded VJPhoneTools and set up a shortcut to VJDial.exe with my voicemail number as the argument, moved it to the SWM folder, and renamed it UserFile1 -- now I can dial Voicemail without touching my phone or using voice dial on my headset. Cool huh?

So now I'm thinking what to do with UserFile 2: Call home? Send a "Running late" text message to the office? Lock the phone? So many choices -- check out Vijay555.com. VJDialer has the phone and messaging apps; VJEscaton has reset options; VJDeviceLock has lock, screen on/off, etc.; and, in fact, VJKeyPress can emulate any keypress on the phone!

Not bad, huh? Now my only question is, Can we have more UserFile slots? We could then swap these in for functions we don't use (e.g., WMP in my case). Just a thought...

One other request: Would it be hard for SWM to read the current time (including time zone shift)? I travel across time zones, and this would be a handy feature. :) Otherwise, I can just shut it down and restart and all is fine.

And in conclusion: SWM is very nicely done! Thanks for all your hard work and attentiveness to user needs.

When sending the date and time please also send the day of week and if possible remove the string "Time and Date :", bcoz of this the entire txt scrolls unnecessarily.

I keep "Time and Date :" as the first thing in my menu so this small thing really matters.

Also 'minimize to system tray' in case of Pocket Pc will also be useful. Even I am trying to do this with my managed program 'Callfirewall' but I do know how to do it.

I have great sound quality using Motorola S9 AD2P headset while the watch is connected on Com 9. I have AP4 + radio 1.57. The only issue is that the sound cuts out when a message is actually being displayed on the watch, but the sound immediately starts again after that and there's no problem with the quality if the sound.

Not bad, huh? Now my only question is, Can we have more UserFile slots? We could then swap these in for functions we don't use (e.g., WMP in my case). Just a thought...

One other request: Would it be hard for SWM to read the current time (including time zone shift)? I travel across time zones, and this would be a handy feature. :) Otherwise, I can just shut it down and restart and all is fine.

I uninstall previous release and install this one, but it cannot connect. I will try a hard reset of the device and a new full installation.

But anyway, could you provide some guidelines for diferent things, for example, obtain list of missing calls, or how to phone last missing call.

Other thing is: gps data, how to obtain it? maybe is with programation...

Is there any doc where appears a list of commands we could integrate in the free slots.

I just tried this new version with my Athena and I can't get any of the userFile slots to actually launch an application. Even the default ones won't launch the tmail application. Is anyone else getting this problem? I have the alpha 4.0 rom on my Athena. Other then that great program!

everything is working fine for me ... great !!!

the userfile option has unlimited opportunity of doing things ... like i'm using for them to quick dial... so i have 5 quick dials and it is enough for me ... so basically i rarely take my ppc out of my pocket :D

now i'm just waiting for the Rewind ( |<< ) button to work :rolleyes:

There are 3 things -
the agenda alarm sometimes doesn't work (doesn't respond with the watch and the phone)

Can we have the function for task notifications also (with alert and task subject)

I can't get any control from the watch over WMP

1. go to the title "windows media"( or the Track tittle if u r already playing a track) using volume keys.

2. press and hold the left middle button ( stop/play) untill it shows a play ( |> ) sign.

3. now u r on ! press n hold FF button ( >>| ) will skip a track, and single press of stop button will pause the song and by pressing it again song will resume, single press of FF/RW button will increase/decrease the volume respectively.

4. by pressing and holding the left middle button again will deactivate the Wmp control.

it works better when the Wmp is visible, hope that helps,

I've done a little more investigating re the agenda notification. It does notify of an apt, however, it is an hour earlier than the alarm time!

I am currently in Australia (usually the UK) which is currently GMT +9 (not Daylight saving [DST]) - this changes to GMT +11 when DST for both countries is in effect. Can the program just run off the win mobile system time regardless of country setting (of home or visiting)???

what i did is, i used VJ phone tools (http://vijay555.com/?Releases:VJPhoneTools) and made a shortcut ( explained on the page of VJ), placed a link in the registry (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2118514&postcount=961)

once u hav installed the soft (VJ) go to the installation folder, copy the "VjDialer" paste it using "paste shortcut" option. edit that shortcut ( either note pad of pc / ppc) u will see something like this ..

32#"\Program Files\VJ\VJDialer.exe"

what u have to do is put the phn no. after this, u want to dial, e.g.

32#"\Program Files\VJ\VJDialer.exe" 1234567

save it, and put it in the windows folder ( or any other folder ), rename with it any name u prfer say "home",

goto registry (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2118514&postcount=961) and put path as "\windows\home.lnk" (or the path of the folder)

tat sud work, and i hope it helps

Notes:
1. You can "Paste shortcut" anywhere you want, not just windows. I created a new folder called Dial, where I keep all my dialer shortcuts. Nice names help!
2. Resco Explorer is nice for editing shortcuts: press/hold to get Properties and click on the Shortcut tab to add phone number.
3. Resco Explorer is also nice as registry editor. Change UserFileName1 to the path used in 1. Also you can change UserFileName1Caption to give a name described on the watch.

Note that other of VJ's tools will allow you send a SMS or e-mail (fixed recipient and message). The process is similar; see his page for details.

I'm very interested in ordering a MBW-150 Executive watch. The only thing that I'm confused about it the menu for this program. Do you have to remember the menu from 0-12 or does it scroll across and show you what the menu number is? And does SWM scroll the whole text message across the screen like btwatch does?
