Things you can try:

I installed the ''1000'' version, and it works.

2) Try installing this library (http://smartmadsoft.com/temp/inthehand.mobile.3.3.cab)
Installed this one too.

3) Install/reinstall .NET Compact Framework 2 SP2.

4) Install/reinstall .NET Compact Framework 3.5.

For the 3 and 4 above, please can you tell me what is this Framework? I'm supposed to install it on my PC, or in my ETEN X500?

5) Flash new ROM. There are some cooked ROMs for X500.

I think this ''cooked ROMs'' are something like a new WindowsMobile, or so... If you can, tell me please where can I get a good and new one?

Probably not needed any more but it may fix the problem... It will install .NET CF to your device using ActiveSync/WMDC (the .NET CF are basically some files needed to run smartWatchM. They are in your device ROM but maybe they are too old and buggy...)

5) I dont know what ROM is the best. Flashing a ROM with new version of cooked Windows Mobile would probably help. Try using google to find some e-ten forum or something like that.

I have installed the Framework 3.5 on my ETEN X500 (WinMob. 6), and also started to install all versions that you send. I started with 1202, and so on, descendent, until the 1010 version worked, and I stopped here for naw, because it's working OK, I think. All upper versions have the same problem like the latest 1203 version, it doesen't open, and that ERROR (from my first post) apears.
That's all for naw... If you figure it out, what's the problem, please tell me, so I can upgrade the latest version..., like other users...
BTW I want to buy the SE XPERIA, do you recomend this phone? It's working fine whit the latest smartW. ?

Yes, Xperia is a good phone and smartWatchM works fine (my friend uses his MBW-100/150 every day without problem). Just some users have problems with BT turning itself off (it should be fixed in latest firmware I guess).

Hi I have recently purchased the xperia and found myself on this site while trying to sync my MBW - 100 to my phone. Problem is that I had successfully sync the watch to the phone and used the smartwatchM to connect with the watch. Then I accidentally unpaired the watch with the phone and now non of my mobile phones are able to detect my bluetooth watch. Any ideas on how to resolve this issue ?

If this is a techinical problem, and youre other phones aren't able to see the watch, try to reset the watch (in the MBW instruction manual, tells you how to do that), than pair the watch again; or when you want a phone to see the watch (search for it), go in the watch menu for the last icon (the watch, 2 arows and a phone :)) and select it with the top right button (''pairing the watch'').

I'd see something like your messaging screen ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=72388&d=1203842774 ), but with something like speed, heading, altitude, and a 4th thing I need to think of, maybe just a simple fixed bearing the user would set with the watch buttons.

Have you made the source available for people to play with the thing? I have no particular WM experience yet, but have been develping for several different platforms and this sounds like a fun toy to tackle :)

I made a test version that supported gps but I had decided to not to include it in the final version. There were problems with BT GPS recievers and the GPS had to ran all the time smartWatchM was active. The first thing is over - there is new connection mode that should be ok (and most devices uses internal GPS anyway). The second - If I find how to proper start/stop the GPS I might inlude it. Will see... :)

The source of smartWatchM is closed. But anyone can start with the development easily:

I have my phone n watch now sync and working perfectly.

But now I have noticed a new problem. I had a call rejected using the watch. The xperia has its side LED's light up when a call is missed. It is usually turned off by checking the missed call list. But even when I do that it doesn't turn off. Any ideas ?

The Abacus watches are same as the MBW-100. All the notifications work (mail/sms/call/mms...). It just disappears, the smartwatchm(1010, and 1000...), without the ERROR report, just disappers.

OK, thanks for the info and links. However, if the goal is just to add GPS support it's a tad stupid to rewrite all the rest of the app for the other features, isn't it? ;)

My turn - for the phones that have internal GPS (at least the HTC ones), the GPS simply turns on when you open the COM port, and turns off when you close it. VERY easy :)
It should be the same with BT GPS units by the way. Usual GPS programs don't do anything more than this.

Well OK in that case I can't help - it's the library's job to open/close - turn off/on. If they did do it well they should have a documented way to command the library to do it...

I'd implement my own NMEA parser to get the needed data though, I already have some for use on microcontrollers that would just need minor adaptation for use on another platform, and speed/alt/heading are readily available in the stream.

What do you mean by this? During pairing, the watch should display an icon and vibrate and smartWatchM should display a message notifying succesful/unsuccesful pairing.
After that, you just select a Start from the menu and press a button on the watch.

The HTC Weather is supported only from HTC Home plugin, so no TouchFLO 2D/3D. I was looking at this only briefly but I could not find any usable data in the registry.
I havent realized I can create a copy of registy, update the weather and make a second copy of registry - this could probably be the right way... I have to try that.
Anyway, If you know, where the temperature data is stored, you would help me. :)

I'm from Russia and the most part of the phone book is written in Cyrillic (абвгдежзик...). I'm terribly sorry in advance but i'm experiencing a same problem as simius for the Greek characters that are not the same as in Latin script - some of them only in non capital letters (eg. Α-α,Β-β,Γ-γ,Δ-δ,Ε-ε,Ζ-ζ,Η-η,Θ-θ,Ι-ι,Κ-κ,Λ-λ,Μ-μ,Ν-ν,Ξ-ξ,Ο-ο,Π-π,Ρ-ρ,Σ-σ-ς,Τ-τ,Υ-υ,Φ-φ,Χ-χ,Ψ-ψ,Ω-ω are replaced with question marks and many times the messages make no sense :( )

and a slight different for the Swedish characters Ö-ö,Ä-ä,Å-å which are replaced by oe,ae and ao.

Could you please help me, I know it's such a trouble...so sorry again.

I am sorry to be back but since yesterday and very suddendly I have met a connexion (X1/MBW150) problem and I lost the connexion for ever.
I try to explain.
When I press 3 times on the down right button the symbol (watch several points device) appears. When I press the right up button a cross appears so I press a second time and the cross disappears.
BUT, when I press any of the left button the bluetooth connection is shown but after 1 or 2 seconds the symbol (watch points device....WITH THE CROSS appears and I cannot pair the watch and the phone again.
I have tried may be everything since yesterday but impossible to get ride off the apparition of this symbol and impossible the connect the 2 things.
I am very sorry. Thanks if you can help me. May be buy another watch ?

just tried the latest beta and after pressing volume up for nine times and activating wmp control with the play button, s2p is indeed detected and "s2p started" is displayed.

but it´s not reacting to anything, no play, no skip, no volume setting.
it´s only responding to the stop button, after i´ve started s2p manually!

I think that it would be easier to make a transliteration ("привет" will be written like "privet" and so on). I can attach the rules of transliteration within a certain file, if it's needed. Though the adding of Russian (and of course other) symbols could be perfect))

I'm sorry but I dont understand much your problem. You mean an icon of a phone with a cross? This is out of range alert that means that your device is out of range or the Bluetooth is off. Try restarting Xperia, make sure Bluetooth stays on and smartWatchM is runing. If it doesnt help, there is another possibility - master resetting the watch (it's written in the manual but basicaly it's entering the sync mode and holding both right buttons until the screen goes white) and then pairing again.

I've made a tool that will help me with the conversion so adding a new letters is no longer a problem.
The only issue is finding new suitable small pixel font. I want to keep all the latin characters and add all the special one.
Currently the width is limited to 5 pixels. The default height of a character is 5 pixels. As you can see in the image...

For Cyrillic there is a perfect font, "IFLASH 502" (http://www.inils.ru/file/font/ ). Unfortunatelly it's uppercase only.
Should I use it for both upper/lower case? Can you find any better font? Or can you make it/draw better? What do you think of this?

Greek, Swedish, other languages... Just find a suitable font and I will add it. If you want to help me more, send me bmp/png (all special characters) and txt (unicode file with all characters in the image) and I will add it.

Edit: I'm already working on the Cyrillic support so it should be available in the beta soon. :)
Edit2: The beta is ready for you to test it. I'm avaiting your feedback. ;) (I better make it all uppercase because the few latin lowercase characters look strange...)

I've tested the last version. Cyrillic is added. I want to thank you a lot!
But to tell the truth about testing, I can say the following: letters А Е О Р С У Х are displayed smaller than others, just like in a lower case. But generally it's ok.

Capital letters....OK
Lower case........OK The letter "ς" between "ρ" and "σ" is the "same" letter as the "σ" but it's only used insteed of "σ" only if it's the last letter of a word (and only in lower case). The capital is "Σ" for both, so that's why you have probably counted one letter more in lower case.

All the accented characters in Greek are 20: Ά-ά,Έ-έ,Ή-ή,Ί-Ϊ-ί-ϊ-ΐ,Ό-ό,Ύ-Ϋ-ύ-ϋ-ΰ,Ώ-ώ.

They are all present in your font, but somehow mixed.
I'm rewriting them in the same order as appearing in the photo above:

As far as the Swedish special characters, the transliteration currently working is ok but because it uses 2 letters insteed of one, it limits the length of the appearing mail :confused:.

This is not possible with the current release of Android SDK since there are no Bluetooth APIs. I dont want to share source but (a lot of platform specific things, a lot of mess..) I could help you with the connection/commands specs.


Ok So i've decided to put the android version on hold until i can find out more about a solid bluetooth api for android.

But now i've started to look at doing a version for blackberry handsets. I got my father a watch for xmas only to find out he has stopped using his winmo phone because the company requires all employees to use blackberry phones.

I would like to take you up on your offer to get some details on the commands used by the phone. An example serial conversation would be great along with a command reference. I understand that it uses AT commands, but i'm not sure which ones it uses and what the initial setup/pairing commands are used.

If there already exists a blackberry equivalent of this software it would be even better (no sense in writting something if it already exists.)

Is there any interest by anyone in the forum for a blackberry version?

Really sorry to annnoy you again. Forgive me but it is the last time.
I definitively cannot pair the watch and the device X1. It has been OK for one day then the connection broke and since then...finished. But I can pair it with anoter phone (K800).

There is something which makes that they do not recognize each other as soon as I activate the bluetooth on the watch (BT activeted on the phone)on its screen appears the symbol watch phone with dots in beetwen and the cross which means that the connection is not possible.
(I have updated my phone reloaded smartwatchM but it has not change anything. And I must say I went to a shop and tried with another MBW150 with the same result) If there is nothing to do forget it unfortunatelly I ll definitively give up disappointed).

I have a MBW-100 and a HTC TYTN II phone running btwatch 0.1.8.

Since installing the software the display on my mbw100 LCD Display has gone very dull, in fact I cant even see it in the daylight and its very difficult in the pitch black. i have now replaced the btwatch with smartwatchW and have the same issue.

Is there a way I can use this software to increase the brightness?

First of all, EXCELLENT program! I bought the MBW-150 Executive ed just to try it out and now I can't live without it! To back up my kind words, I did donate as well ;)

Just two wishes now, norwegian characters (there are only three: "æ", "ø" and "å"). Also, the battery indicator on the "status-screen" is bugged. It displays the correct amount of battery life remaining about half of the time, the other times it shows "255%".

No in fact there is no watch inn BT manager as I have complytely emptied my phone. When I want to find a new device with phone BT, It tells me that there is no BT apparatus to connect. I can activate BT on the watch, as soon as I do, the cross "cuts* the link.

I don't know how about MBW-100 but MBW-150 has 2 backlight modes. However most of the time the brightest level is set and only when you press top right button to mute ringing call you get the lower backlight level.
In a bright sunny day I have problems reading the display too but no problems indoors. Since you have no control the backlight level I recommend you to try master reset the watch and, if the problem still persist, there's probably something wrong with the hardware.

The 255% battery life means that the battery check is unavailable to the battery life. (Probably some bug of Xperia or power setting because I have never seen such value on any of my devices). I have fixed it to display N/A instead.

I have recently updated my phone to the Touch Diamond on Rogers and I am having some issues with smartWatchM.

When I connect, the default microsoft bluetooth stack pairs with the watch automatically and I am given the limited features like when the smartWatchM isn't installed. SmartWatchM isn't even able to connect, its like the regular stack jumps the connection. I can find the watch in paring mode with both the MS stack and smartWatch.

Is there a way to allow just the smartWatch software to access my watch?

Its had me a little frustrated lately.

1) Watch are still connected to other device -> turn off the other device (somethimes this really may cause some problems)
or 2) MBW-150 is still listed in BT manager -> delete it
or 3) the watch isn't in pairing mode -> turn on the pairing mode, the arrows must keep spinning around

1) Go to BT manager, select Watch and check available services. Disable Headset profile and save the changes. To connect the watch it's recommended to start up smartWatchM connection before turning on the Watch. (Even that, sometimes the connection may got broke and you need to disable the headset profile/connection again)

or 2) If you dont use any other BT headset/handsfree/stereo, you can disable Audio Gateway routing. (But I haven't tested it myself. It should be in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Au dioGateway, setting NoHandsFree to 0 or in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\BTAGSVC, setting IsEnabled to 0).

Sorry, I wasn't clear - the crown does NOT appear to have any function at all. On the MBW-100 it appears one presses the crown to activate the music player/menu. On the AU6002 I don't see any evidence that pressing the crown does anything. It doesn't even feel like a button.

With smartWatchM, don't I need to have the watch send "crown" button presses to get into the menu? Is there an alternate way to do that if in fact the AU6002 has no "crown" button? ...or am I just being very stupid and missing how to press the AU6002's crown?

Same for tomorrow. The city is correct, but no number for degree appears. I'm using SBSH PocketWeather 2.1. The interaction with SPB Weather I used before was perfect.

Is this some bug or is there any solution to fix this?

The default watch menu is invoked, and selection controlled by the bottom button, then the top button changes the value of the selection. So one presses the bottom button to bring up the Bluetooth, Message, etc choice and then presses the top button to turn it on or off, or presses the bottom button to move to the next choice.

Pressing the top button alone brings up the digital date/time/battery/BT connection views.

I haven't found an online manual yet, but the paper manual makes no mention of pressing the crown - unlike the MBW-100 manual. I'll totally accept that I'm being stupid, but I can't see how.....

I see Tech4Less has the AU6002 down to ~$25, so I'd think there'd be more of them showing up now ;)

Yea I Mean artist/title display pocket music works fine with it just no song info :( I like pocket music more than windows media player cause it runs a lot better. Is pocket player good?

Okay, FIANLLY got my MBW150 Music, after it got to wait at the customs for nearly 2 weeks because of stupid seller...

I seem to have a similar problem to escully (must be the country ;) )
I put the watch in pairing mode, select discoverand pair on the phone. After a few seconds, the watch vibrates and shows the "paired" sign. At this point though, the program still appears to be looking for the watch (WM's "busy" sign still there). After a few more seconds, the watch shows the "disconnected" icon. The program is still busy at this point. Only a bit later will it say "Pairing successful".
Then, I click "Start" in the program. I get "Press button on watch"... but whatever I do on the watch it stays so forever and never goes any further.

EDIT: The watch does communicate with the phone, as if I turn off BT on the phone the watch will say it's disconnected, and it will reconnect when I turn BT on again.

The new beta does work with Pocket music to show the track information, but unfortunately it only shows this information if you press the next button on the watch to change the track. that means the watch doesn't shows any track information if you change the track manualy in the pocket music or as track change automatically after one song.

I have used Wndows media player, and i can confirm WM shows track information always as track change regarless of how i change it.which is cool.

I tried master resetting several times, doing the things in different orders, no luck. No luck with btWatch either, it hangs on connecting requiring a soft reset.
I happen to still have a Hermes around, so I dug for it to have a try - it worked perfectly at the first time.

So it seems sWM doesn't like my Kaiser 6.1 ROM in direct connection. This is why I tried doing it the COM port way. But WM6.1 with MS BT stack doesn't have the option to create an incoming port anymore, so I had to do it manually in the registry. And it works fine that way.
I don't know how direct connection is done - but something doesn't work with my combo. I've never had any BT problem before BTW.

Some might remember me talking about adding GPS display to sWM.

Well, I got my watch 2 days ago, and played a bit with it... and by chance just found a nice little WM development environment on the same evening that looked very light and easy to use. That's a very good thing, as I was very reluctant to using the obviously expensive and very heavy visual studio to just try developing a couple of little things for WM...

So that made a perfect excuse to try it out and work on that GPS thing with Basic4PPC, which is pretty much just a "light" VB, than can also be edited on the PPC itself.

The result after only about 5 hours of development (now that's how I like IDEs, quick start ;) ) is GPS2Watch... v0.1 for now

It simply uses sWM "3rd party notifications", and connects to WM5+'s intermediate GPS driver, so no messing with COM ports. It should work with any device/GPS combination, if the GPS is external it must be set in WM's "External GPS" settings. Simply run the program, click "Start GPS", and the watch should start displaying GPS info, refreshed every 4 seconds (this seems to be the best choice to have a nearly continuous display, seeing how sWM polls the text file). This results in only short blinks from the watch between screen updates.

I had put an interval setting to look for the best update rate, and decided to leave it in case one would prefer for example to have the watch display just once every 30 secs or so. In that case, you might want to tick the Vibrate box so you don't miss the updates :)

The watch will display "GPS Position Invalid" when used sats < 3 or PDOP > 10. I chose those pretty much arbitrarily becuase my Kaiser's GPS tends to be too optimistic, and regularly displays PDOPs in the "very good" range even a couple of seconds after it has lost sats. That should be just fine.
In normal display, the display shows Speed, alt, heading and a user settable bearing, only in the metric system for now.

So, features:
- GPS speed, alt, heading display (metric)
- User settable bearing, for reference (seems there's some trouble with the "touch-slider" I did that doesn't always respond... gonna check that)
- User-definable update rate, min 4sec due to sWM interfacing limitations
- Watch vibration on/off
- Uses WM5+ GPS driver, so make sure "External GPS" settings are correct (DON'T touch if you use an internal GPS)
- Requires sWM, obviously, which MUST be installed on internal memory and running.

And remember it's my first WM program, and "work in progress" ;)

For example, when a notification file is read, create one file with the last pressed button. That way there's no need to activate/deactivate file creation manually.

- Thanks... I did myself consider it as a small app... and as it was dependent on sWM I thought that was a good place. I'll make a dedicated thread if I change to stand-alone... but then your notification function would be orphan again ;)
- Yes, if less than 4 seconds (maybe 1/2? I don't know how fast the watch itself can take it) so that there's no "flicker", no arrow (is that possible? As every sWM data was showing it I figured the watch was adding it itself!), and buttons could be implemented, that would allow people to do pretty much everything through sWM, removing the need to go to the low level for the more complete control. Now it's a bit limiting. Maybe access to larger font too (1 line only), and redraw as fast as possible after button press to "hide" the volume slider.

Since this feature is useful, smartWatchM already includes it. The third menu screen displays latest sms or email (received when sWM is running). The stop button shows short preview or info and the play button displays the whole message.

Could you try reinstalling PocketWeaher? Delete HKCU\Software\SBSH\PocketWeather and try the feather feature with the default cities (London etc).
If it still doesn't work, could you export HKCU\Software\SBSH\PocketWeather (As .reg, using DotFred's TaskManager or Resco Registry)?

There is a lot of things you can do yourselfs to extend the watch capabilities, one of them is an example of SMS reply, feature that sends a pre-defined text message to the last caller.

Imagine you can's answer the phone. Or even take your phone out of pocket/bag. You can use smartWatchM (to set up UserFile, one of five slots) and to launch the script directly from your watch.


It's really that simple:

For the record, a little problem with the current beta:
When I minimize it, the program disappears from everywhere, no task manager shows it anymore. When I run the program a 2nd time it doesn't do anything, while in the current stable version it would just bring the minimized window to front. The program is still running though, as the watch is usable. It's just not possible to reach it again to change settings or such after minimizing it without a soft reset or reinstalling the cab.

Minimize - just simple minimizing, you can return to smartWatchM without any problem
Hide - smartWatchM isn't visible in task manager and cannot be launched via shortcut. You can still return to smartWatchM by tapping on the tray icon or long pressing FF on the watch. (Reason? Avoid closing smartWatchM by the system when the memory is low.)

Oookay... got it. Yes I think a more complete manual describing the functions would be handy ;) The strange thing is that somewhat I must have behaved differently with the stable and the beta... because I never noticed it in the stable version while I did in the beta - even going back and forth a couple of times between the versions!

No manual registry hacks should be needed since smartWatchM can set it all automatically.
I also just understood that one... "Register COM port" and "Delete COM port" does just what I did manually, add / remove the incoming COM port from the registry. That wasn't clear either, I understood it as in sWM needed to "capture" an already existing COM port to cut access to it from other programs... but noticed what it really was when "deleting" it to try my own program on the same COM port - that didn't exist anymore after it ;)

Sorry, no idea... apparently the function that's querying WM's GPS driver fails doing so. I've tried on my Kaiser with internal GPS, and Hermes with external one, both work well. I also tried purposedly misconfiguring the driver, and leaving the GPS off before connecting, I get no data but can't get it to fail.

At what time does it give the error? Does the PDOP field ever turn to N/A after starting GPS? Can you see the GPS LED turning on? (if it's like on the Kaiser, the right status LED will blink orange when GPS is on).

Is the "External GPS" control panel correctly set and do you ever have problems with other GPS programs that don't ask you for a COM port?

Easy, if you want the watch to vibrate put "vibrateon" in the filename, if not then put "vibrateoff"... so if you want to do something that vibrates at the beginning of the message but no more afterwards, just put "vibrateon" on the first file, then "vibrateoff" in the subsequent ones.
These files would most likely be created by a program of yours, of course.

i'm facing a strange problem, if the phone is connected, and i ignore a phone call, the caller name and number will be stucked on the screen of the MBW150 and will not be removed untill you disconnect the watch (long press of the bottom right button) and then connect it again.
what to do?

I can't duplicate any of your problems. However I've made few changes in the beta that could help with the first one. The second: (a bit workaround but) smartWatchM just simulates the end call button press, however I worked in any situation I've tested.
SPB Weather 2: The made some changes in the latest version. It's on my to do list, I will check it soon.

Instead of (4) powering off bt/wifi/some other network connections during standby, the 2 set's it to low power mode from what can be easily woken up to fully working mode. (However it works fine on other device withound any need to change anything so Xperia probably uses different drivers or power setting.)

Sometimes the callers name isn't available immediately when the phone starts ringing and the watch vibrates however it should get refreshed within few seconds (if the data is available). Try using the 2-lined caller id instead...

Maybe in the future. Currently all the text output is designed for 2 lines. Maybe if I find some easy way for using the system fonts and convering it to 16 pixel height bitmap...

i worked with graphics before, i might be able to help, if you want give me the specific format of the file and i will try to create a class to do this for you ;)

btw i use C# & dot Net Framework 3.5 (can be done in 2.0 if you are using it), if you are not using dot net, im not sure if u can use an assembly made by dot net but i guess it's possible.
i need one more thing from, start thinking of supporting Arabic language buy putting in mind that it is a Right to Left language.

i will hold my application for couple of days to work on this with you, but are you going to pass only arabic text? or all texts?

Kudos on the new version (0.5 at least). It's much faster and names show when somebody call me. SMSes are displayed as they should.

However I still have the same problem with emails, and I've got a small issue with reminders.


Emails:
I'm a little closer. As before the watch (LM95) vibrates when I receive the email, but will only show up "New msg" and the subject if I use "Notification repeat". If the interval is set to "0.5 minutes", the "New msg" shows up 30 sekonds later. If the interval is set to 5 minutes, the "New msg" shows up 5 minutes later, and so on... ;)

Reminders:
The subject of the reminder shows up on time, but the vibration is delayed.


And... is it possible to remove "Hide" as the left soft-key? It's terrible annoying to press this button on my Touch Pro as I can't show smartwatch after that (as far as I know), I have to do a soft reset.

Thanks for all of your development up to now. I am so delighted with the progress and updates that have been made.

I see that the option to alert appointments has been added to th LM watches. I have yet to achieve this. Is there a setting that I am missing. I have the check beside Settings> Notify Events> Appointment

The watch does not vibrate or display anything when there is an appointment.

Currently I am using the HTC Touch Diamond on Rogers with the stock ROM.

Yes, i am facing this, one of the 2 devices lose the connection when using a BT headset (90% is the headset)! i use HBH-608, mostly the connection is stable for me, i can talk while using the watch but (somewere between 30 and 40 minutes) the Headset loses connection, or the watch's connection becomes unstable. i don't think this is a problem with the software as i strongly believe that it's a problem with some settings of the BT drivier.

I thought that too... but actually as moneytoo said a few posts above, you can long press the FF button on the watch to show/hide sWM.
However still a suggestion: auto-show the page when the watch is disconnected. Whe the watch loses connection it's hard to press the FF button to show the window...

I have the same problem on my Kaiser. Apprently it's not due to sWM but to how BT works on these phones, as it happens anytime I want to use any other BT connection at the same time than the headset, for example Internet sharing over BT or a BT GPS.

There may be a delay before displaying subjest if there's a lot of messages in your inbox. However I will check it.

It notifies only appointments with reminder set. Works for me & Moskus...

Indeed smartWatchM restarts BT but only if the COM Port connection mode is set and the initialization needs to be restarted. You all should use Direct mode so the BT won't be disabled.

You're right... But there is still reason to keep the app hiden, even when the watch is disconnected. (Older smartphones has a very little free RAM so I want to avoid closing smartWatchM in any time, even the watch is out of reach)

Restart smartWatchM, some settings require reloading smartWatchM.
It's possible that the history file was changed again. I will check it and fix it if necessary. Latest version I was using was 1.2.0.13 (English).

All WM support tray. Even my Touch Pro - TF3D (today plugin) disabled, tray icon enabled (in smartWatchM).
The only possibility is you either dont have tray icon enable in smartWatchM (and restart) or the system tray was disable using some regisry hack or something...

January 24th... What a day... Exactly 1 year ago, first public version of smartWatchM was released. (I received the watch on 22/23 so the first version was created in one or two evenings)

Now it's 3 AM and I've finally found a way how to completely analyze and implement the Prada Bluetooth Watch (LBA-T950).
I really like the Prada Link... Large bright OLED, very light, alarm, stopwatch... and it has a beeper. :)

Ok, I figured out that I have the MS BT stack.
On the Palm Treo Pro the smartWatchM works perfect, but on my G710 it does not. Strictly speaking, there is no interaction with the watch at all...

Any ideas why?
The BT stack seems to be the same on both devices...

I really would love to use this SW on the G710 as well :)

moneytoo, thank you for beta version for LG Prada Watch. I am not sure if this is a correct place for troubleshooting but I can not "Discover and Pair" them using smartWatchM.cab v1.2.1.0 in LG KS-20.

The message is "Cannot find any unpaired BT watch. (Delete the device from BT manager to pair again)"

I can pair them via BT manager. But after that smartWatchM does not also recognize them.

Could be the problem that I firstly paired them via BT manager? Then I removed them and tried your guide step by step.

LG KS20 has Broadcom Bluetooth stack but smartWatchM can work only with Microsoft Bluetooth stack (except SE MBW that can use set up COM port).

I don't know. I read about people changing the stack but I don't thing there is any BT stack that will work on all devices. I guess it's same as with ROM cooking.

There is one possible solution (Franson BlueTools) but it has too many cons.
- It costs €149.
- Doesnt work on smartphones.
- I don't have any device to test it.
- A lot of work, testing, compatibility...

Callers name + phone number and Mute ringer works well.
In call history the watch says No Call´s.
When i press the call rejection button nothing happens.

I have a problem with my smartwatchm i was using version 1.2.0.3 on a htc touch hd it worked nicely, but then i ticked the auto start and auto connect options and now i cannot get the program to load. I have completely removed the aplication deleted the files in program files and installed the newest version but what ever i do it wont run there is no error message or anything and the phone wont connect to watch eithere so it dosent seem to be running in hidden mode what can i do? is there some hidden settings file i can delete so it will do a clean install again? oh also I am using it with the mbw-100. many thanks

Thanks moneytoo so your suggestion is get visual studio and have a go with that? cool well apparently im part of the msdn or something because of my course and they let me download visual studio for free so Ill have a go and hey if I do make anything good ill be sure to let you know.

On my MBW-150 watch with Touch HD/Blackstone, I keep getting repeated appointment notifications even if I dismiss the notification on the phone. Feature (settings says 3 repeats, although I think it should be stopped when stopping the appointment on the phone) or bug?

I am having the same issue, deleted the resgistry key as advised, uninstalled smartwatch, hard reset my watch, re-installed the latest version of smartwatch and reconnected to my watch but the smartwatch shuts down and i cannot open the program to alter settings

Hi, I just got this superb piece of software running on HP iPAQ RW6815 (WM5 smartphone device) connected to SE MBW-150 watch.

Only 2 issues:

1) My watch doesn't show appointment reminders (although enabled in setup menu). I must be overlooking something.. Does anyone know what could be wrong here?
2) I was stupid enough to run the Samsung Backlight Fix on my device and it claims to have changed the registry. After switching off the Backlight Fix the behaviour is changed and I would like to repair that. Which registry key(s) do I need to fix?

1) No, I use the standard WM5.0 calendar. To show appointments on the today-screen I use the freeware tool TodayAgenda V1.5.0 (www.tiews.info), but as far as I know this does not catch reminders. FYI: I already tried de-installing this tool (inc softreset). That made no difference. More ideas are welkome :rolleyes:

2) My HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State\ Backlightoff entries seem to have changed. I restored the original settings and everything is OK now. Because this key is different from the one you mentioned I'm not sure what happened, but it works now. Thx for pointing me in the right direction!

While this application gets better with every release, I still have a problem with the watch losing the Bluetooth connection approximately once a minute while I am on the phone with my Bluetooth headset. To make matters worse, when this happens, it seems to cause interference/static in my phone conversation, both in what I hear and what the other person hears. I hoped that the updated Bluetooth drivers in the latest release would help, but they haven't.

This is with an MBW-150 on a Sprint Touch Pro with a Plantronics 510 headset. I have tried changing the Bluetooth channel from 2 (that I believe is stock) to 5, 6, and 7 with the same results. Any ideas or debugging I can do to resolve this?

This is not a problem of the application, but Microsoft Bluetooth Stack implementation, that can hold effectively only one connection at a time. You can't help it, until Microsoft fixes the implementation. Another option is to use some ancient device that still uses Widcomm Bluetooth Stack, but it's usually not acceptable solution.
BTW: there is no such thing as Bluetooth channel. They probably meant some kind of ID, but still I see no point, as devices are identified by MAC address...

I was referring to the channel for each Bluetooth device. My headset's channel is in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\De vice\00197f22f129\Services\0000111e-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb\channel. I think the valid channels are 1-7.

I assume the hex number strings are different for each device and are MAC addresses and IDs. Along with channel, my headset has values for enabled, name, and sdprecord. The watch has no entries under Services.

"Maybe" if a channel was assigned for the watch, it would stop the conflict with the headset, but I know next to nothing about how Bluetooth works.

Weather works only with compatible applications. Have you chosed your weather app in the smartWatchM menu.
RSS works only with Newsbreak but it's just a silly feature, with no real use. I plan to remove it or update it in the futere. See smartWatchM on xda-devs wiki to setup the RSS feature.

1. I work on a feature that use phone built in fonts. Currently it works only with Caller ID. But this will use the whole 16 pixels height, the menu will stay 2-lined...

anyway, i changed the "lost" original sound with a louder "whistle", just copy the whistle and rename it to lost. i am attaching it here (http://rapidshare.com/files/195873534/Whistling.wav) if anybody else is interested in using it:p i strongly recommend it...

I've added the Hebrew font to the latest beta. But since Hebrew is right to left language and smartWatchM always draws from left to right (and the screen scrolls from left to right) I'm not sure if it is will be displayed correctly.
So tell me what and how should I fix it. :D

the scrolling direction it is not important. how to make it display the right way...well, i do not know:confused:. the letters are there, not mirrored but in the "wrong" order:p please, don't give up on me, i'll try also to found out what's the secret....

-Toshiba G710/VDA GPS (Smartphone, WM Standard 6.0)

The last one is currently not mentioned in the compatibility list (http://www.smartmadsoft.com/smartwatchm/faq.txt).

Keep up the good work! I love this peace of SW and I could recommend it to quite a number of friends :)

I have a HTC Touch 3G & an MBW-150. I had an earlier version of SmartWatchM installed i think in December 2008 & everything worked fine. I had just installed the latest version v1.2.1.0 (20090201) a couple of days ago & now whenever i get an sms, it says "unknown" & then this error pops up

I have tried uninstalling & re-installing, deleting the HKey Local Machine smartWatchM folder but i keep getting this error. I am stopping short of doing a hard reset coz i don't want to lose some programs installed by the people i bought the phone from. Can you please help me with this?

ROFL. Do you have any idea what you're asking? Are you aware that each of those phones has it's own unique and incompatible (with the other 2) operating system?

The simple answer is NONE of the features work on ANY of those phones.

because they r different operating systems im trying to figure out which ones it works with...so which one DOES it work with richard?
