HI

I have Just a couple of questions if you would answer them

I have just purchased a LM958 (couldnt afford a Sony just yet)

Anyhow all seems fine and the watch connects and seems to work ok

But i have 3 issues at the moment

1. whenever i get a new mail or SMS the watch vibrates but does not show anything on the display but if i choose test command the text "New Msg" shows

2. Whenever a call comes through the watch displays the number and the Caller Name but the last letter on the display does not get wiped when the number displays

EG the caller id is ABCDEFGHIJKL Then the number is shown 01999999999L (As you can see the L is left over)

3. The watch will stay connected for hours but at random times will just disconnect
i have no idea why as the phone is really close but there does not seem to be any pattern as to when or why it disconnects.

4. When disconnected i cant seem to get the watch connected again without removing the pairing and re-pairing the watch through the BT setup
which obviously is a long winded way to do it every time.
I should add that if i try to reconnect the phone it does reconnect to the phone as the BT icon changes but it's the re-connection to smartwatchm that seems to be the problem

Apart from these it's superb so a donation will be on its way

since i've updated to the latest version, the application is no longer starting the bt connection by itself, but it's checked in the bt settings! Known issue?

Except Windows Mobile, there will be version for Android in the future. (Maybe even webOS but no one knows if this will be possible.)
I have no plans making version for BB/S60.

Thanks a lot for your reply. May we know why? After all WM as an OS seems to be coming on far fewer devices now than say BB. What about Web OS? Is there an approximate date for the release of your sw for android? Im in India and not totally clued in on release dates etc.

Today I finally pinned down an intermittent failure I'd been seeing.

AT&T Tilt, WM6.1 shipping ROM, smartWatchM 1.2.1.0.

If I have a message which is 20KB and my mailbox is set to download only 4KB, if sWM is running I am unable to download the remainder of the message. Typically one clicks on the link at the end of a message to download the rest, and in a few seconds the remaining message appears. With sWM running, clicking on that link causes the message size to show as 0K/20KB (for example) and *none* of it can be seen. Exiting sWM and retrying brings the whole message back.

I see this both on a POP3 account and a DirectPush account.

Yes! Thank god I'm not the only one with this problem!
Do you happen to use Exchange?

Yeah, that's just the way it is. The watch will "auto-pair" with the phone, making the pairing with SmartWatch useless. Or so it seems...

WM is running on way more devices than BB. The only manufacturer of BB is RIM while there are plenty of manufectures of WM devices.
I mentioned webOS...
The Android version depends of Bluetooth API which isn't released yet. (No one knows when Google release it...)

I have had same issues with not-downloadint attachements and large e-mails. I had no idea it was my own fault. I will fix it. (I was trying to save some time by leaving the Outlook session opened all the time so I will open it only when needed.)

Regarding the random disconnects: I have noticed this problem with smartwatchm since I started using it (cant remember the version). However, im not convinced it is at fault. With my Touch Pro, I have found that if I use a HD radio, no such disconnects occur. I have tried:
Raphael: 1.02.25.28 and 1.08.25.20M1 - both have the problem
Blackstone: 1.10.25.25 and 1.09.25.35 - no problem.
Its hard to be completely sure when the disconnects dont happen often and seeminly randomly. Still, if you are security unlocked its worth a try!

Hi moneytoo,

I am using a VDA GPS and as I lately said it worked for me.
After a hardreset I reinstalled the SW and I am now facing the problem that I am not able to connect the watch easily.

Moreover, once the smartphone started and I checked [HIDE], I am not able to get to the interface again with starting the application (I wanted to try out some test commands, etc.). The only thing possible was, to restart the smartphone in order to get back to normal operation mode...
Am I right or am I doing something wrong?

Moneytoo, thank you for this application! I ordered an MBW-200 and it was delivered today. I was able to install smartWatchM on my Sprint Mogul, pair it with the watch and test the features.

In watching the video of the MBW-150, there are two things that did not work the same.

First (and the only one I really care about), when I turn Full Length Messages on, the text on the watch is single line (full height) and only a few characters are shown when an email is received. Changing the speed and length of the Full Length Message has no affect on this display. Turning off Full Length Messaging allows a two line display of part of the email.

Second, is a similar problem. Using the stopwatch, instead of seeing "stopwatch" on one line, and the time on the other line, all I see is the word "Stopwatch," which fills the whole display. Double pressing the ring mute button then results in Stopwatc... ...h: stopp.

I've looked through the settings in the application, this thread, the wiki and the FAQ and didn't see a way to change this behavior. Did I miss it?

2) Give btWatch (by pcfixitman) a try. It uses only GCLIP so this could make things clear.

3) Do you see any unknown commands (or strings with AT+ or just +) in the log window?

4) Does displaying BMP/NOL graphics from the test commands menu work?

I noticed something sortof odd, also maybe good news. I was trying to get the stopwatch to work, and the screen went blank and no pushing of the buttons did anything. So thinking the battery died, I put the watch on the charger.

Later I noticed it was done charging, on, and the stopwatch was running. It said "stopwatch" on one line, and the time was incrementing on the next.

However, no matter what buttons I pressed on the watch I could not get it to stop or change modes. I had to do something on the phone, can't remember if I just disconnected smartWatchM, or if I reset the phone or what.

I'll download the beta and give it a try. Thanks so much!

I think I have it working. I used version 0.1.9

Menu -> Test -> Sent SMS: does nothing

-> Send Call: gives an icon on the left side of the screen with a little phone and an arrow pointing to it. The arrow is animated. The number is 4255555121 (I'm guessing that should have been 5255551212 and got truncated?)

-> Status: shows the same icon as Send Call, but it is static, the arrow does not move

-> Heart Beat EKG: does the same thing as Status, but the icon is displayed for a shorter amount of time

-> 2 line font test: displays the on for a pretty long time, and the application on the phone appears frozen for that period of time (the menu does not disappear in the middle of the screen and the phone is unresponsive)

3) Do you see any unknown commands (or strings with AT+ or just +) in the log window?

No, not with the beta version. Just a "Not supported: SEMINDIR"

4) Does displaying BMP/NOL graphics from the test commands menu work?

Menu-> Test Commands -> Extra -> Call Logo (NOL): displays the phone with animated arrow icon and the word Test call, and seems to stay forever.
-> ...(BMP): first time: there was something displayed so fast I missed it
then there was the icon of the phone with the static arrow in the middle of the screen by itself (all other times I have seen this icon it has been on the left side of the screen)

second time: The word HONEY in 3d like font appeared. It's stuck there. I've now sent several more test messages, the watch has vibrated, but the word HONEY is still on the screen....just sent Vibrate and it went away. Don't know if that was coincidence or causal.

trying again, first time: didn't notice the flash at first, but the icon was in the middle the same as before and sending the message a second time, same as before, HONEY displayed, and it's still there. Sending more messages ... this time it went away when I sent "eternal time."

Trying the Stopwatch again, I think I failed to mention that in addition to the word Stopwatch is the phone icon with the animated arrow. The log on the phone is simply "Mute ringer info" over and over. The odd situation when the display was actually correct (I mentioned in another post) but wouldn't stop, the messages on the phone was "text sent" over and over.

I have to double press the "Mute ringer" button to stop the watch, wait for the display to clear, then press Stop to see the time on the watch, at which point on the phone I see "Text sent."

Going back and trying the BMP again. If I get to where HONEY is on the screen and just wait several minutes, it's still there. After sending several test command it eventually goes away.

while we have to live with only one BT connection at time
some new option for media player:
- stop playing music
- send notification title/interpret
- wait some time
- clear display
- start playing music again

I think it would be some improvement for hearing music with a
BT stereo headset. Currently I can't
hear the first 10 seconds. (not really a problem)
But sometimes the first 10 seconds are snatchy
(and this IS a problem)

I think this is what happens when we have to use this shitty BT implementation. Until fixed by M$ I don't suppose it can be corrected (apart from having an extra option to turn off communication with media player software - especially as in case of all AD2P headsets you always have AVRCP buttons).

Yes, this is normal because smartWatchM checks for some entries in registry every minute or so (only when the device is awake and running so it should be much battery drain. If the device is sleeping, then the delay can be longer - 2 or 4 minutes).

It modifies some registry entries to not to power off Bluetooth in standby. This problem seems to be only on some Xperia devices.

@Xperia bluetooth bug: I think it happens on my Touch HD as well. Music control works as long as it plays all the time, or if I only pause for a short time. If I pause for several minutes, starting the music again usually don't work. Although, now that I think about it, for instance changing profile still works, so perhaps it's a WMP-problem rather than a BT trouble?
Yes, WMP should be the problem here. Try other player, Pocket Player is really good.

I'm not sure what could be the problem since the logos kind of work. How about Test comand "Call 2-lines". Does this one work?
Is Asian/Unicode Support unchecked? Do you use direct connection instead of COM?

1. Not in the media control mode. I guess you can write your own script or app that would switch it (and launch it as user file from the watch). But there's no generic way of doing that for all the players...

2. smartWatchM supports different players with different volume scales... More importantly it's impossible to read the current volume from 3rd party music player...

Also, I have added feature for checking watch firmware. The MBW-150 has 1201:3478:01. How about other models?

More importantly, I have made a change in the connection that could possibly affect older MBW models.
Could you please check if the connection works with MBW-100 and with other Abacus/Fossil watch? How about MBW-200. Any changes?

I haven't yet made or received any calls with the new beta version to test the new connection, but I "think" I have walked through all of the menus and don't see how to check the watch firmware version. I am using a MBW-150 on a Sprint Touch Pro.

I would like to thank moneytoo for an excellent software for my MBW-150. I will try to donate a pleasant amount of money to you in the nearest future.

I also have a couple of suggestions for smartWatchM:

- volume 0 should be set as menu structure (scrolling two-line text) This will make it easier to navigate, and save you the time it takes to find the right page.

- Stopwatch: I tried it a couple of times, and all the sudden it lost contact with the phone, and it was impossible to stop the stopwatch. I don't remember what i did to make it stop, but it would be nice if a lost connection could automatically set the watch to volume 0 page.

Thanks, but disabling other headset is absolutely not an option. I use plenty of BT-headsets. ;)

It's strange that SmartWatch seemed to be able to maintain a more stable connection before, but not now...

I'm having difficulties controlling BT status (on/visible/off) through smartWatchM. It will work for a while after a fresh pairing, but will then cease to work. I haven't yet figured out exactly when it stops working, but I've noticed that switching BT "on" generally works for a while, and switching BT "off" generally doesn't work at all.

I first noticed this in version 1.2.1.1, and it's still there in v1.2.1.2beta.
I skipped version 1.2.1.0 so I can't say for sure, but could it have something to do with the new BT drivers?
I went back to an older 1.2.0.6, and it works there.

Device: HTC Touch Diamond.

Any help is much appreciated!

I've installed brand new 1.2.1.2 on my MBW 100.
Firmware (revision): CAH1090866_R1C

I get the message "play/pause button pressed" but
no information on my clock!
(the first menu entry is "Messaging info")

* "Test commands/Extra/Call 2-lines" is working
* nothing happens for "Test commands/Extra/2-line Text"

btw: incoming call notification is working

just installed latest beta. displaying works but no other functions with sp2. tested 0.58 opengl and 0.55 vga, no difference, every button just causes track title to be displayed.
right now skipping back to s2p 0.50, maybe that will change...

otherwise ... you may up yesterdays latest 1212 beta again?

with s2p 0.50 vga everything works!

just noticed that after long pressing "play" to activate the player control, with 0.50 "s2p started" is displayed. with later versions there´s "windows media player..." showed - got this anything to do with?!

I think G-alarm (http://www.ageye.de/index.php?s=galarm/about) must be the most popular alarm app to WM today. Is there any chance that galarm notifications could be integrated into smartWatchM? I'm especially eager to be able to "mute" (snooze?) alarms like incoming calls (simply pressing upper right button). I think it would be a great feature!

I would like to be able to use the "full text messages" feature so I could see more of the message. However since it's not working correctly I actually see less and the settings do not affect how much I see.

I am now using the MBW-200 with a Sprint Motorola Q 9c and the Widcom version of smartWatchM, and it has the same issues as before when I was pairing it with the Sprint Mogul.

Download and install the latest version from http://beta.smartmadsoft.com
Start and exit smartWatchM.
Open registry editor, go to HKLM\Software\smartmadsoft\smartWatchM and set Log from 0 to 1.
Launch smartWatchM, try using features that doesn't work correctly.
Send me the log_ files from \Program Files\smartmadsoft\smartWatchM\...

here i am after downloading the latest beta 1.2.1.3 from 28.02.2009 and wondering what's new?:confused: i looked in the xda thread and in yr forum and wasn't able to found out what's new. can he boil an egg now or maybe drive my car and send a fax in the same time...?:p
[few minutes later] this ver does not work. first time when this happen to me. connecting once going thru the menu once (but only about half of it) than...nothing. menu dead. there is no forward or backward. going back to the 26.02 version.
[few minutes later after later] back to 26.02 version. everything back to normal, everything working again.:D

Is it possible to change the vibrate pattern?

That way you'd be able to tell what kind of notification you're receiving from the way your watch vibrates.
For example, you could set
- a long vibrate for an incoming call,
- two short vibrates for an email,
- three short vibrates for an SMS
etc.

I think it would make sWM even more stealthy - you could just "feel" and decide if you want to look at your watch now or not.
And you'd be able to tell if it's a "real" notification or just the watch losing connection (as it does once in a while).

What do you think?

Everytime someone is calling me the display on the watch shows "Unknown"!
I have a Xperia X1 with the newest firmware if this is necessary.

Is there any chance to download prev. versions of Smartwatch M ? I am searching for this because the actual 1.2.1.2 does not show on MBW-100 things the prev. version did, e.g. "Your watch has been connected" (now only vibrating), and I have probs with full text messages.

Since 1.2.1.2 you have to choose whatever your watch is MBW-150 or MBW-100. Have you set Settings -> Device -> SE MBW-100 or older?

I have a problem with the caller id!
Everytime someone is calling me the display on the watch shows "Unknown"!
I have a Xperia X1 with the newest firmware if this is necessary.

What watch do you use? Have you tried both turning on/off "2-lined caller id" in settings. The "Unknown" could be displayed for a few seconds but it should be updated then.

Is it possible to change the vibrate pattern?

Hi,

I use MBW-150. The "Unknown" is showed for a few seconds and then nothing.
I have tried both - 2 lined Caller id on and off.
There is no difference

Ok, I couldn´t choose any device or change Device settings, it was grey. Uninstalling, searching the registry, found a bunch of keys left over, deleted them and installed new, and - ooops - problem solved, runs like a charme.

Does the analogue clock actually stop when the battery runs out (in other words, do the clock & display run on the same battery)? Also, how long does it run on 1 charge, and does the battery life decrease over time?

I've got the MBW 150 and charge it approx. every 5-6 days. It has a battery meter so you can keep tabs on when it's time for a refill. If it does run out it will disable BT first, then stop activating the OLED at all (digital clock and date). Then, after about two weekws (not sure about the exact time, but I believe SE said about two weeks), the analog clock will stop.

thklinge is right about the priorities. As for battery life, I use my MBW-150 every day and need to recharge it - oh, I don't know, very rarely. I never measured it but I'd say one charge is good for at least three weeks of service. I'm really very happy with battery life. I haven't noticed any decrease in capacity.

I barely remember that someone requested this months ago. A bit delay, but finaly here it is... You can customize the messaging info screen.
Select Settings -> Tools -> Customize Messaging Screen to run simple editor.
Currently following commands are supported:

<UnreadVoicemail/>
<MissedCalls/>
<BatteryPercentage/>
<SignalPercentage/>
<OperatorName/>
<ProfileName/>

The main screen is
E-mail (<UnreadEmail/>), SMS (<UnreadSMS/>)
Calls (<MissedCalls/>), Bat (<BatteryPercentage/>%)
but now you can change it to anything you want.

I think G-alarm (http://www.ageye.de/index.php?s=galarm/about) must be the most popular [and best] alarm app to WM today. Is there any chance that galarm notifications could be integrated into smartWatchM? I'm especially eager to be able to "mute" (snooze?) alarms like incoming calls (simply pressing upper right button). I think it would be a great feature!
Have you considered this?

Yes, WMP should be the problem here. Try other player, Pocket Player is really good.
Same result with CorePlayer. Play works if pressed shortly after pausing, but if I pause for a longer time, pressing "play" doesn't do anything. Neither does next/previous. I've tried stopping media control mode, and turning it on again - then it detects CorePlayer running, but the actual controls still don't work. Any ideas?

Hi,

I bought a MBW-150 today to pair with my Touch Pro. The watch isn't exactly cheap but you know what makes it worth it? smartWatchM! With a regular SE phone the watch is just a gimmick, but this app makes it genuinely useful. :)

Having a few problems though, using v1.2.2.0:

1. I haven't figured out how to get out of Media Control mode. So I'm cycling through the modes using the top left button when I get to Media Control mode. The FAQ says long press Play to exit this mode. But when I then press the top left button to cycle to another mode, the volume bar is empty and no matter how many times I press the top left button I can't change mode. It seems to leave me in a state where I can't do much at all. What am I doing wrong?

2. How do I read the actual text of my email? I long press the Play button but it just shows me Size, Normal Importance, Time & Date. How can I see the body?

Sorry if these have been asked before but I searched and must be using the wrong terms.

GREAT JOB moneytoo with this parameters :)

I like the application- one of those which really do what is proclaimed; I miss few things: like ability to browse and read all unread new E-mails/Sms I received (not only the last one)
Second- browse thro all day appointments/reminders from the calendar

Weather in HTC Diamond not working with the app.

Plugin options (like Google gadgets for further info, like stock exchange rates, or share values, snow conditions etc)

Last Call option - when middle button pressed (SE 150 model), last missed call would appear

Vibration Differentiation for different events(sms, call, mail...)

But Great Work anyway

1. I will test it more later. I gave it a quick try and it worked no problem. What player are you using?

Can not confirm the control issue being fixed. Actually, absolutely no controls works after connecting with 1.2.2.1. Volume always stays at minimum, have tried short and long pressing all the left buttons without any reaction. I'm flashing my device in about 10 minutes, will report back if the problem is still there after flash + hard reset.

I had some trouble with 1.2.2 as well, but I was in a hurry, so I just downgraded to the last version I had stored on my memory card (1.2.0.6), and everything worked fine.

I'm running a MBW-150 on the HTC Blackstone (Touch HD).

Can you save the messaging screen in the Registry?
After update on V 1.2.2.1 it is again the old screen.
Yes, this will be changed in the next update. It somehow worked when I first tried the reinstall but it definitaly doesn't work now.
You will have to backup the files just before the next update (no longer after that). I will write this note when next update will appear.

And please make the Flexmail support better :o
I dont have that much time to analyze every application database and keep it up to date with their latest version.
1. You can do it yourself and send the text/vibrate alerts to smartWatchM
2. Write to the Flexmail team and ask for some notification API / SDK

Got my MBW-100 Today (i like the design more then the MBW-150 ones).

Very nice Programm, but what are the specifig controls on a MBW-100? The controls in the faq dont work (MBW-100 has "only" three buttuns, including wheel). I used the fast forward function of mistake, but realized that it doesnt work with windows media player (no reaction).

Thx in advance for your help and plz forgive me for my bad english.

//Edit: And maybe you can add support for the xperia media panel, many people would be very thankfull for that, but anyway, thx for your great app!

That's good news. Every time my watch vibrates, I wonder: Is this a text message? An e-mail? An incoming call? Or did it just drop the connection?
The only thing I can do to find out is looking at my watch, and there are times when you just can't do that. So it would be really great if you'd know what's happening from the vibrate pattern.
Really looking forward to it, that would mean a lot.

Audio Manger is not supported but I can add it...

Moneytoo, please please please, can you add it! I prefer it to WMP as it's part of the Touch3D system.

Also, can I make an additional request? Can you make a variable to select how long track names are displayed for? At the moment, it disappears to quick, can it be either selectable or longer. Also can it show the album, not just the track name and artists?

Again Moneytoo, this is possibly the best application I've had in 8 years of owning windows mobiles, thank you so much.

1. Is there any difference if you turn the voicemail notifications off in smartWatchM? I have never used voicemail so I dont know how/if it works at all.
2. I fixed this behaviour with SE MBW but I was able to duplicate this problem with the Prada Link. I have enabled a option that could possibly improve the performace but dont know if it help. I will look at this...
3. I have no control over this. This is the BT stack related thing...

What watch do you use? The longer time can be set on MBW-100 or older, on MBW-150 and newer you can display the track again by pressing the top right button three times.

For new E-mails and or for new Sms it would be good to have an option to browse thro all the new message headers instead of reading the last received mail

First I would see the Number of unread, then all (or defined number of) headers one after another

What is your opinion? .

I have a question regarding my MBW-100. I'm not sure if it is an problem with the watch iteslf or smartWatchM. It all works like a charm for a day or so, then the watch have problems staying connected. It is almost like the Bluethooth range is decreasing simultaneous with the battery level on the watch. When the battery is half empty, it almost wont stay connected at all. I'm using Xperia and have "Xperia Standby Fix" enabled

iam using a SE MBW-100 with HTC touch pro, i was about to shell the watch till i found this program, it is simply fantastic, thanks to anyone who worked on that.

my problem is that iam using WM6 greek and all details are in greek, so when iam getting the message on the watch the names etc are not readable, something wrong with greek fonts?
is there anything i can do with settings?
any help will be appreciated

the problem is when i turn setting to 1 line, unfortunatelly with 2 lines the letters are in the watch so small and i can't read them

No change for me in 1.2.2.1 but the issue with getting stuck in a loop when entering Media Control mode is definately fixed for me in 1.2.2.2. I'm using Core Player and it works fine.

However, I'm using EnergyROM 2.0 beta with a port of TF3D\Manila from the Touch Pro 2 and smartWatchM doesn't seem to work with this version of HTC Audio Manager. I'm playing a track from the Music tab on TF3D and the watch just says "No running player found".

Can anyone confirm that 1.2.2.2 works with the Music tab on "regular" TF3D? Maybe the problem is that the TF3D from the TP2 works slightly differently. Can anyone else verify this?

Also, I'm still not able to read the body of my email. With 1.2.2.1 and 1.2.2.2, I long press the Play button and all I see is the sender and subject again. With 1.2.2.0 I saw size, priority, time and date. What do I need to configure to see the body?

I would really love to have different vibrations for each event type. That would be so useful.

This really is an amazing app already though, so I made a donation, reference 5E0360264R336751M. Keep up the great work!

HTC Audio Manager and Player in Touch Flo are two different things. The TF3D player dosn't work and won't be compatible because I haven't found a way how to control it (without the need to have this panel visible all the time).

It MIGHT be possible, since TF3D uses a LUA script to control audiomanager_eng.exe. Maybe you can use whatever IDE you use to catch window messages sent to that exe :)

- Let's say you want to avoid confusion with a "disconnect", so you set SMS to "2" sets and Email to "3" sets. You can now identify SMS and Email, but if there's an incoming call, you'll only know this once the watch starts the 4th set of vibrations.

--- is the shortest and the only one vibrate pattern (the RING command). The only way is either to count the sets of three vibrations or make some significant delays between the sets. I can't think of any simple solution for this...

When I use fwd or rew, the watch will show the title of the previous song, not the one currently playing. Current title comes up only after I toggle pause/play. Dunno if this is standard behaviour (haven't used the feature with other players for a while), thought I'd just mention it.

Ok, I will have to change this.

Example: volume up/down, channel memory up/down.

You can use VJDialer from VJPhoneTools to create shortcut. This shortcut can be assigned in smartWatchM as UserFile (up to 5 files) and launched directly from the watch.

Hello All,

I just made a plugin for Pocket Investor (http://www.pocket-investor.com) that allows it to send alerts and stock price updates to smartWatchM via 3rd party notifications.

Here is how it works:

After a price update occurs in Pocket Investor, the watch will display each stock symbol followed by the price and/or change percent, as in these examples:

MSFT 18.05
MSFT -0.5%
MSFT 18.05 -0.5%

Note: Vibration (if enabled) will occur only for the first symbol to save your nerves ;-)

When one or more alerts are triggered in Pocket Investor, the watch will show the alert count.

You can customize the plugin behavior by changing some settings in the following Registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Acquasys\Pocket Investor\Plugins\Watch

ShowAlerts: Enter 1 (default) to enable/disable alert notifications, or 0 to disable it.

ShowPrice: Enter 1 (default) to display the price of each investment when a price update occurs.

ShowChange: Enter 1 to display the last change % of each investment when a price update occurs.

Symbols: By default, prices of all investments in your investment file are displayed on watch. If you want to show only specific symbols, enter them delimited by commas (for example: MSFT,X,YHOO).

Vibrate: Enter 1 (default) to enable watch vibration when notifications are shown.

Interval: Enter the interval in milliseconds between notifications. Default is 4000 (4 secs).

I've tested it with the LM-958 only, but it should work with other models.

2.x is not supported, only 1.x.

(HTC) FM Radio is controlled the same way as any othermedia player... You have to start it first and then acivate the media control in smartWatchM.

You can just Exit smartWatchM and use some BT toggle utility.

To shut down smartWatchM remotely, you can write a MortScript (switch to smartWatchM and simulate key presses or just kill the application). :)

However some "Turn off BT on exit" option is definitely good idea. ;)

It's not compatible. However it's possible to create Windows version. What would you like to use the watch for? Music control? What next?

I've just ordered an LG Prada Link so have read this thread with a lot of interest. Now I have some questions, since I've got a lot of windows mobile devices it won't be a problem getting it to work on one of my phones, most likely it will be on a Diamond and maybe within a month on a Diamond2. Now on my work I tend to be in a lot of software developing (strangely I work as a doctor at cardiac surgery, long story) for wich I use a Google Android G1... You guys could imagine my next question, will it ever be possible?

And for using it with GPS, ít would be great to have is sort-of linked with TomTom to get your directions on the watch, Bicycle navigation here I come!!!

Android - I hope it will be possible one day. I want to develop an Android version but we all have to wait for the Bluetooth API.

TomTom - there is some sort of API from inthehand.com but it's paid, secondly TomTom is available only for PPC platform and finally it's suitable for car navigation but not for bicycle.

GPS - instead of just reading and displaying the GPS data it would be best to find some navigation/tracking gps software that would be able to communicate with the watch
There is already one GPS plugin available and maybe some navigation sw support in the future... however Prada Link isn't the best watch for this. It cannot directly display the text and the smartWatchM API doesnt support Prada Link currently.
I'm working on comparison table (all bt watches and mobile devices/systems with or without any additional application) but it takes some time to test all features.

As for TomTom, I can use it over here in my car but it can also calculate bicycle routes... I don't TomTom, there are a lot of alternatives, most recently I tried AndNav v2 for Android which is comletely free. Maybe it's a good alternative?

Speeking of Android, with Android v1.5 almost here I think the bluetooth API (with all new functions like AD2P and so on) to arrive shortly. If you need any help on developing (tried a bit myself) or testing, let me now.

I have made an attemp in the past to construct a mobile EKG device for PPC (worked... sort off) working at cardiac surgery helps here... Woulsn't it be great to send the data to the phone so you can see, for example, Einthoven II in the screen? You'll see when you are having a hearth attack! Brilliant!

Is always not that easy. I'm only trying to find some workarounds to cooperate with smartWatchM so I'm not sure if it will be possible with Phonealarm. It would be better if the other sofware had some published API or the developer himself created some interface or plugin.

Since the next last upgrade, I no longer get text messages displayed on my watch when emails or sms arrives, only the standard envelope.

Also, the media player control (I use Coreplayer) don't work any more. The control worked poorly before, when pushing the play/pause button it worked sometimes but more often not.

Is there anything new in the last 2 versions that I need to do in order to get the text notification of messages to start working again?

My girlfriend bought me the LM Technologies LM958 watch for xmas. I though it was great except it didn't have full functionality with my Omnia. I never really wore the watch because of this but I started wearing it the last week or so.

When I charged the watch over night the LCD display would not come on. When I press either of the side buttons nothing happens. According to the charger lights it has charged ok (green light went off).

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this, would I have to send it off for repair and who would be able to do this. Im in Northern Ireland by the way.

Check the charging cable. The cables are poor quality. I have 3 cables and one of them doesn't charge - I have to move the cable to start the charging.
Some multimeter would be the best tool to test it. If the cable is ok then probably the watch is defective.

When your system is running low on free memory, it may close some application to free the memory. If this is the case, you can use the "Hide" feature that prevents the system from closing smartWatchM application.

You can go back to previous version to test it http://www.smartmadsoft.com/smartwatchm/smartwatchm1222.cab (just replace the 1222 by any version number you want to download).
I'm not aware of any changes in the latest version that could cause this issues. Sometimes the text message/email may be delayed because of large number of messages in Inbox...

I had the same problem, I'm using the Prada watch with the Xperia, and every so often it would stop sending signals from the phone to the watch, eventough it was still connected.
I may have a solution, in bluetooth settings I unchecked the box that said Authentication (passkey) required, and since then I didin't have any problems. I'll see how it will work tomorrow.
I got the idea from a GPS I used to have and it would lose connection, but once unchecked that box it was good.
I hope this info will help you.

I just thought with these watches and stereo bluetooth headsets the need to pull your phone out and hold it while you use it (which I hate) is reduced. If I can leave it in it's holster for some uses I don't mind if it's a big brick. I'm in the market to upgrade from my mogul and just saw BYD's Mars (not that it's available) and had a case of wishful thinking.

Maybe I'll hold out for one of those Microsoft next generation contest finalists contraptions you wear around your neck that hangs down on your chest and even has a projector and options for custom graphics skins. I'm thinking a big red S would look good.

I used the update function in Menu/About/Update to Latest Version.
The update was downloaded, installation proceeded and from that time I am not able to re-connect my watch with the application, pressing a watch button would not connect.
I reinstalled the update and re-installed back the previous cab but no connection. I tried to pair the device again, the app is not able to find any device and suggests to delete the device from the BT manager (how, when the watch was never seen under BT manager when I used the watch)
Until the update all worked perfectly.
I have SE MBW 150 and HTC Diamon Touch with the 2.0.... firmware.

You have to use the volume buttons to browse the menu and launch the action.
Animated Bluetooth icon? I dont know of any... Maybe this is a feature of MBW-200 which I dont have. :)

It should work on WM 6.0 or newer, if the appointment reminder is set and appointment notifications are enabled in smartWatchM.

Just got my MBW-150 today and have been playing around with smartWatchM, great app so far!

Quick question, is it possible to reverse the media controls (Previous Track/Next Track)? I find it easier to press the bottom left button (previous by default) than the top left button (next by default), I am far more likely to use next track than previous so was wondering if this could be toggled somehow?

I am using Pocket Player on my HTC Touch Diamond with the MBW-150

I am happy to report the appointment notification started working magically today!? Not sure why, but I am happy. Now if I can get the weather and email working I will start bugging about more features! (Just kidding...maybe...) So, how do I pick an email account to sync and set that up? And email as well: several questions: is the TF3D Weather on the HTC Fuze compatible? (...before I go and buy a weather app) And how do I set that up to sync? By the way, a temporary workaround of sorts for anyone who is having problems with appointment notifications...if you use Google calendar, you can set text notifications for appointment reminders, which also come to the watch from the phone. I had resigned myself to using that method until it magically started working. The texts from gmail don't always come, so don't TOTALLY depend on it, but it's an option...

well, it didn't take long to come up with a feature request...is it possible to do a countdown timer with either vibe or sound alarm? This script countdown 5 minutes and then vibrate and display any bitmap image on watch.

Hi guys, I wish to create script file (or better implement new feature directly in SmartWatchM) to Display all next appointments (all todays and tomorows appointments from calendar). Now in SmartWatchM you can only display ONE next appointment (and ONE all day event after long press). I wish to list them all. (And also tasks)

So we need to make txt file with list of appointments in some good, readable format and put this file in Ext folder to display in watch.

I havent found any mortscript for this yet. Also any sw that can accomplish this easily. Anyone?

No there is no way. If you wanna different intervals (10min, 15 min) you have to make a new script and bind it to another position of user programs. There is only one way communication with script. Watch calls sript (no parameters can be passed) and script send information on watch.
=> this (full controlled countdown timer) is a feature request to SmartWatchM.

Great for:
"Tea" - I always forget to remove teabag :) I need watch to remind it with picture :D
"Time Box time management" - Everyone has tasks, that are still moved to later, and you know you have to do that, but subconscious is stronger. Just say: I will spend 15 minutes on this task, no longer, i will do at least something, and all 15 minutes will intensively work on that task. Thats why I need watch again - to watch over me:)

Hi Moneytoo. Yes, what next after music control for a Windows version of smartWatchM: Powerpoint presentations. I wouldn't need to bring along an "air-mouse," and more importantly I wouldn't have to remember to bring it along as the watch is always with me, I would use the watch to click forward, or back, while making presentations. Awesome!

I mange to pair with no issue also to connect but seems that the connection is not done all the way.
The watch and date is not set.
The tests are not all successful, for example for an SMS I get the envelope but not the SMS text.
Tried reset the watch, the beta version soft reset the phone and reinstall all no change.
Any idea what am I doing wrong here?:confused:

i don't have the watch and the programs but is there any solution to control programs like word, file/web browsers, ebook readers by the watch, like up and down close or open so i don't have to touch my phone but the watch to scroll the content.

Is it possible with this watch and app or is there any tiny controller to control the pda like this?

Currently not. It would be possible with some tweaks however I dont see much of a use here.

I will remove the CurrentAlbum. Since there is just the title stored in the registry, the only option is to use different music player - WMP, TF3D or PocketPlayer.

I have read much of this thread with great interest, I've had a SE MBW-100 for a few years but have moved away from SE phones. I now have a T-Mobile G1 Android Google phone and I am eagerly waiting for this app to be written for it. A recent OS update, version 1.5 commonly referred to as Cupcake for some reason, has enabled various bluetooth functions that were previously missing such as A2DP.

Please tell me you have plans to extend the app to the Android platform, I and many others would donate.

I have 30 in my mail inbox, less then that in my Messages inbox.

I have waited about 15 minutes to see if it maybe a slowness issue.

After trying other buttons and tests from the smartWatchM (with no success) I get a "no logo found" error.

Only after selecting Start the 2nd time the phone connects and again stuck at the "echo set..." does not set the time on the watch :(

If you turn on the watch, the connection should start automatically, without any button press needed.

Don't do that. Just press the top right button on the watch. If the watch doesn't connect, wait five minutes and then try pressing the button on the watch again.

OK, to make sure I did all OK (for the 3rd time now :) )
1. Delete the mbw-150 item from the BT manager
2. Reset the watch
3. Pair again (BT on the watch then pairing using smartWatchM) - pairing successful
4. close smartWatchM
5. close BT on the watch
6. Open smartWatchM shows "waiting for connection..." choose start again writes "waiting for connection..."
7. turn BT on, on the watch - connection does not starts automatically
8. press upper right button - no response
9. waiting 5-10 minutes - no response

All the logs created during these tests are empty...:eek:

With btWatch, it does not show the full email or SMS, no scrolling.

If shows the from in the 1st line and as much of the subject as it can fit in the 2nd line.

What are the problem of menu access?
Does an other programm is better for the compatibily of the MBW-100 ?

so far all i got was a new sms message indicator but it only worked twice and then it stopped working and when i open up the messages it goes to my email and not my sms.

To bring a new stuff at least once a month, here is a new version of smartWatchM, currently v1.2.3.0.

New plugin support. If you know a bit of C# or VB, you can create your own menu item that will receive up to 4 button presses. With this, you can create plugin for controlling your application, displaying information you want or browsing task list.. just anything.
If anyone of you will be interested, I will extend the number of maximal menu items from 1 to 5.

Other important update, the Citizen i:VIRT compatibility should be fixed. No more battery draining.

I have also included a fix for Prada Link that should improve the compatibility.

Love this software, works brilliantly on my Touch HD with an MBW-150!

Quick question though, I can't seem to customise the menu. I'd like to limit the number of items to 5 (Messaging Info, Appointment, Email/SMS, Profile and Media Player) and order them, but the changes in the panel don't show up on the watch. Everything is still in the same order as default, and all of the items are visible, not just the first 5.

Any ideas why this isn't working for me? Tried reloading and upgrading to the latest version.

Reorder the manu, confirm the changes and restart smartWatchM. If the items are then reordered in the list so the watch menu should be.
The number does not currently limit the total number of visible/accessible items.

Hi Guys!

Ive bought a SE MBW 150 update classic edition and connected it via smartwatch to my Diamond2.

The most funktions will work but no CallerIDs are transfered and no media player controls (PocketPlayer) will work. Also the Volume Buttons do nothing.

Ist there any solution to resolve the problem? Is the Diamond2 Rom the Problem?

There is a lot of things you can do yourselfs to extend the watch capabilities, one of them is an example of SMS reply, feature that sends a pre-defined text message to the last caller.

Imagine you can's answer the phone. Or even take your phone out of pocket/bag. You can use smartWatchM (to set up UserFile, one of five slots) and to launch the script directly from your watch.

It's really that simple:

You may try the previous version ( http://www.smartmadsoft.com/smartwatchm/smartwatchm1223.cab ) but it may be caused by bad cooked beta WM 6.5 ROM.

Hello, first of all, great program, been using it on a htc touch pro for almost a year and had no problems. great work moneytoo

Only problem now is that i have upgraded to a HTC touch pro 2.
Has anyone got the program to work on the HTC Touch Pro 2. I think it has a Widcom stack and i have tried the widcom version and the normal version but neither work.

Both versions run fine but the normal version does not pair with the watch. The widcom version pairs with watch in normal bluetooth manager but then when going onto the smartwatch program it freezes when you press connect and gets stuck on waiting for connection.

On the old versions you could select the com port to use but on current versions you can no longer do that, is there a version i can download with this feature still enabled so i can give it a try?

first i would like to congratulate you for the good job you have done with this program, that was the reason for me to buy a new watch, let's come to the problem, i was working with my device (HTC pro) using SE 100 watch and all was ok, i just bought a new watch LG PRADA and i followed the procedure, first i removed the previouw watch from the devices and started with the prada, connection was succesfull, menu shows :
device : LG Prada Link
connected : Yes
when i take the watch in a distance from the device it gives me the message disconnected and when iam close again is connected again so it seems that everything is ok, but the screen of the watch is not showing any message in any action, calls, sms etc, nothing happens, iam using the 1,2,2,3 version,
any help on that will be appreciated.

Well... I couldn't get the MS BT stack version to run on my Touch Pro 2, and the Windcomm one does... I tried the test in the opening post of this topic, turning bluetooth on and off from within the app, it didn't work with the Touch Pro 2.

Is there any other way I can check which BT stack my device runs? Is it harmful to run the Windcomm version if it works without any problems so far?

The current version (1.2.3.0) includes beta version Bluetooth "drivers".

Just tried it, doesn't work. The WindComm version works fine though. The only thing is that, when I hide the program, I can't re-open it anymore. It sort of disapears. I have to minimize it instead.

I read in Rhodium forum that Pro 2 uses Broadcom Stack. One thing is sure, it ain't the generic MS Stack and I found noway to make Smartwatch work.

I could pair the Watch using the Bluetooth Control Panel, but Smartwatch would not connect.

You are right, surprisingly TP2 really doesn't not have MS BT Stack.
I will focus more on the Widcomm version now.

Read the FAQ. You can show smartWatchM by clicking the tray icon or pressing the top left icon when the app is hidden.

The widcom version pairs with watch in normal bluetooth manager but then when going onto the smartwatch program it freezes when you press connect and gets stuck on waiting for connection.

This is a current "feature" of Widcomm version - it stucks until the connection is established.

Nothing special really. I paired my watch with the Windows Mobile bluetooth manager. When I started smartWatchM it started bluetooth for me. I clicked connect and pressed a button on my watch. That's it.

What version number of Smartwatch are you using? I tried Widcomm 1.2.3.0 and it just freezes.

I´m planing on buying the mbw-150 watch, and use it on two different phones, my work and private phone.
So the question is will the watch handle 2 paired phones, without the need to pair them, switching from one to another?

MBW-150, Johnny58 was right Widcomm version works,if you can get it to unfreeze.

It seems that it always freezes while trying to connect, turning off the BT on the Watch and turning on again seems to help.

BTW thanks for the great software.

when I use the smartwatchm v1.2.3.1,I find the power of the mobilephone consumes more quickly than before. I find it saves power when I use the smartwatchm v1.2.3.0 .My mobilephone is Mio A701.

You have to use the Widcomm version and pair in the default BT manager.

hey everyone.
today my new mbw-150 was deliverd and thanks to the forum i get it working with my touch pro2. the only function that doesn't work is the music function and volume controle. Doess someone else had this problem and fixed it. I already checked the FAQ

Some might remember me talking about adding GPS display to sWM.

Well, I got my watch 2 days ago, and played a bit with it... and by chance just found a nice little WM development environment on the same evening that looked very light and easy to use. That's a very good thing, as I was very reluctant to using the obviously expensive and very heavy visual studio to just try developing a couple of little things for WM...

So that made a perfect excuse to try it out and work on that GPS thing with Basic4PPC, which is pretty much just a "light" VB, than can also be edited on the PPC itself.

The result after only about 5 hours of development (now that's how I like IDEs, quick start ;) ) is GPS2Watch... v0.1 for now

It simply uses sWM "3rd party notifications", and connects to WM5+'s intermediate GPS driver, so no messing with COM ports. It should work with any device/GPS combination, if the GPS is external it must be set in WM's "External GPS" settings. Simply run the program, click "Start GPS", and the watch should start displaying GPS info, refreshed every 4 seconds (this seems to be the best choice to have a nearly continuous display, seeing how sWM polls the text file). This results in only short blinks from the watch between screen updates.

I had put an interval setting to look for the best update rate, and decided to leave it in case one would prefer for example to have the watch display just once every 30 secs or so. In that case, you might want to tick the Vibrate box so you don't miss the updates :)

The watch will display "GPS Position Invalid" when used sats < 3 or PDOP > 10. I chose those pretty much arbitrarily becuase my Kaiser's GPS tends to be too optimistic, and regularly displays PDOPs in the "very good" range even a couple of seconds after it has lost sats. That should be just fine.
In normal display, the display shows Speed, alt, heading and a user settable bearing, only in the metric system for now.

So, features:
- GPS speed, alt, heading display (metric)
- User settable bearing, for reference (seems there's some trouble with the "touch-slider" I did that doesn't always respond... gonna check that)
- User-definable update rate, min 4sec due to sWM interfacing limitations
- Watch vibration on/off
- Uses WM5+ GPS driver, so make sure "External GPS" settings are correct (DON'T touch if you use an internal GPS)
- Requires sWM, obviously, which MUST be installed on internal memory and running.

And remember it's my first WM program, and "work in progress" ;)

- Suggestion: Implement a notification system that goes the other way (create a text file with the buttons that were pressed on the watch). For example, when a notification file is read, create one file with the last pressed button. That way there's no need to activate/deactivate file creation manually.
I'll gladly take your offer for a "quickstart" regarding communication with the watch with the AT commands - I'd find it interesting to tackle ;)

It's working... but on my WVGA screen everything is compacted... Any idea ^^ ?
