Let me tell you how god like you and pcfixitman are! very, god like, very... ;)
But the program is not (yet) working on the Professional version of Windows Mobile 6.
I tried it on an Xda orbit 2 (HTC Touch Cruise) and the procedures seem to match, it changes the type of device into headset, I can assign an outgoing port and I can add an incoming port. All fine.
But there seems to be an incompatibility with the OS. It spits out the following error when I select "Open COM":
smartWatchM.exe
IOException
Es kann keine Fehlermeldung angezeigt werden, da die optionale Ressource der Assembly, die die Fehlermeldung enthält, nicht gefunden wurde.
bei System.IO.Ports.SerialStream.WinIOError()
bei System.IO.Ports.SerialStream..ctor()
bei System.IO.Ports.SerialPort.Open()
bei smartWatchM.Form1.menuItem3_Click()
bei System.Windows.Forms.MenuItem.OnClick()
bei System.Windows.Forms.Menu.ProcessMnuProc()
bei System.Windows.Forms.Form.WnProc()
bei System.Windows.Forms.Control._InternalWnProc()
bei Microsoft.AGL.Forms.EVL.EnterMainLoop()
bei System.Windows.Forms.Application.Run()
bei smartWatchM.Program.Main()
But great work, I might marry you :p
EDIT: I softreset the PPC and now it just kind of worked. The devices communicated with each other, I got some output on the screen and I could make the watch vibrate. It doesn't work anymore *just now*. I'll keep trying...
EDIT 2: Since my girlfriend gave me the watch as a (ridiculously expensive) present and it didnt work till now, she - upon I demonstrated her your work - said, and I quote: "Offer that guy my body..." :)

This is coming along nicely, it works great on WM6 Pro. I thought about the program and came up with some proposals:
Once you port it to unmanaged code (C/#/+ of some sort I guess) can you make it use language files? Users could customize/localize the messages like that.
You could implement several control modes. Like music player control, or system msg control (show info/rss/battery etc msg) or whatever and switch modes by applying a button combination. Next/prev toggles between modes for example. You get the idea.
If possible you could even implement some kind of a plugin system. An API of some sort so that ppl could write their own extensions to use the watches ability. I can't think of anything useful yet, maybe use the watch to control the PPC which then acts as an infra red remote control for the TV. Just whatever stupid ppl can come up with :)
Thats it, more or less, what I could come up with.

It's too early for that.
Most important thing will be text converter (text -> hex) that will allow possible dynamic text/graphic output to the watch (reading SMS/Email...). The display is 96x16 so even 2-line output would be possible.:D

Yeah, I got the same idea. First I'm gonna make some switching modes in WM application util everything will be optimized.

I've heard about remote control already. :D Plugins... Too early to say ....
Anyway, I'm still working on improving stability (dummyproof, avoid any crash), better (faster) event handling and adding new features. :)

Hmm, finally someone made a wm plugin for this great piece of hardware :D
Have been eying it before, but without a wm plugin it was pretty much useless.
When I get the chance I'll buy one for sure now.
Will check out on this thread for the progress you make :)

Well of course it's waaaay to early for all that, I was just thinking out loud. Thats all. But putting graphics/multi line text on the display, oh god, buddy, you could charge 20 bucks for that thing if you'd finish it :D
It's working great btw, I tested it quite hard today. I ran across the following:
If the watch is out of range and you get a message, sWM crashes because (thats what I read out of the message) it tries to access the non-existant device on the com port sending the new msg notification:
bei System.IO.Ports.SerialStream.Write()
bei System.IO.Ports.SerialPort.Write()
bei System.IO.Ports.SerialPort.WriteLine()
bei smartWatchM.Form1.timer2_Tick()
bei System.Windows.Forms.Timer._WnProc()
bei System.Windows.Forms.ApplicationThreadContext._Int ernalContextMessages()
bei Microsoft.AGL.Forms.EVL.EnterMainLoop()
bei System.Windows.Forms.Application.Run()
bei smartWatchM.Program.Main()

schaggo, what watch do you have? MBW-150?
I have implemented few more features (battery status (5-level), notification repeat, new message type (envelope + message type)...) so you may test & report. ;)
For now, sWM offers even more features than Sony Ericsson phone (in case you dont use Media Player control and dont need reject incoming calls). :)
schaggo
27th January 2008, 07:09 PM
I have an MBW-150 Classic like you.
And it makes me freak out, because I owned a SonyEricsson P1 and was going nuts because the watch worked so well and all features *cough couch lol* were supported. And on WM nothing worked. But SonyEricsson actually was wrong, the watch has as many features, as the agent on the phone can control. So, well, let's say sWM is f***ing exciting! I'll get on testing...

This may happen from time to time if sWM doesnt respond to all initiation commands. It's probably because watch was already sending commands when you press Start. But I'm not 100% sure anyway. Even I have to deal with this sometime...
Turn on/off BT on both watch and WM. Try waiting few seconds (before you press button on watch). Or restart your WM. This helps a lot.
EDIT: I have done some fixes in v0.1.3.2. I believe this prevent from that error as much as possible.
EDIT2: One more time... v0.1.4.0 should be more power-savy, and has faster responses.

I found the new version to be very very fast. Congrats on that!
From time to time the watch reports a lost connection though.
Watch and PDA are on the table and out of the blue the watch vibrates and shows lost connection. Dunno if it's a fundamental bluetooth problem or some communication errors with the program.
Another thing: my mum called me today and the watch only vibrated without showing the number. I gonna run a test right now: Indeed, the watch only vibrates without passing on the number. It shows the "Missed call" though after I hang up. Did you change anything in that routine?
Edit: Minor annoyance spotted: smartWatchM doesn't speak foreign languages, ë for example shows up as ? on the phone...

This never happen to me. I lost the connection only if I leave room without my phone. I guess this may be weak BT. Or maybe WM close sWM because of memory?

I've just checked that and it should still work. If the watch rings without showing phone number/caller name, this is result of
wrong initiation. I tried that several times today and got this error only one time. Exiting the application and starting again helped. My only advice is: Do not immidiately start the communication but wait a while. My connection is successful in 95% tries. BTW, I do not turn off BT.
I will test sWP on other devices.
Minor annoyance spotted: smartWatchM doesn't speak foreign languages, ë for example shows up as ? on the phone...
Does it display "ë" with SE phone? I think the watch support only ASCII. I will add feature that will unaccent the characters.

I doubt that WM closes sMW. I'm a memory freak and I immediately close every application I don't use anymore. And the Touch Cruise with 128mb RAM should be stong enough to run sWM ;)
I guess I'm to dumb or the Bluetooth stacks in our phones are *not exactly* the same, hence the inconveniences. But they are minor and not really something to care about at this point. But as you said, restarting the program and turning bluetooth on and of usually resolves the problem very quickly.
As for the accent, I don't know. I'd have to check that. Let's see where I can get a SE from ;)
(I actually have 3 laying around... just to lazy to switch sim cards :p)

Hi,
great thing it should work on WM6, because I got the watch as a present, and me or them did not know it would only work with some phones.
I have a question for you: How do i enter the registry values on windows mobile 6 (smartphone)
i installed PHM Registry Editor, and i can enter all keys and values but don't know how to do this one:
sdprecord"=hex:36,00,32,36,00,2F,09,00,00,0A,00,01,00,00,09, 00,01,35,03,19,11,01,09,00,04,35,0C,35,03,19,01,00 ,35,05,19,00,03,08,01,09,01,00,25,09,47,50,53,20,5 2,46,63,6F,6D"
I tried to add a binary value with value starting from 36,00,.... and so one, but i couldn't enter all of it due to maximum characters. Kind of stuck here, anyone an idea?

It should work but I don't have any headset so can't check.
I've just tested sWM on HTC Kaiser. I've connected and disconnected the watch many times without single problem or error. Only requirement is restart after pairing/com seting. Communication over incoming port is stable.
I've already implemented bitmap -> hex converter so now Im looking for the right fonts. We need:
1) Probably bold and good readable font, height 16 pixels
2) Smallest and readable font, 8 pixels height (for two lined text output)
Any suggestions?
Dr. Brainiac: Install Resco Explorer with included Registry Editor Plugin. The trial version should be enough.

It should work but I don't have any headset so can't check.
Thank you! I have a headset, now I have to borrow a watch to test it. :)

I have an HTC Athena, it is possible to have connected in the same time the watch and a bluetooth headset? If is possible it will be the perfect combination....
Greetings
Yeah man, I've been using the Nokia HS-12W and the MBW-150 with my X7500 for 2 days.

Can it be a pixel font? There are plenty of pixel fonts out there. I'll see what I can find.
I have a question for you: How do i enter the registry values on windows mobile 6 (smartphone)
I can give you my exported registry entries. All you have to do: edit the bluetooth-address string, enter the one of your watch. Then execute the files and it automatically changes and creates the right registry keys. There are several tools available which are able to read registry files. Resco Explorer is probably the best of them, it's commercial though. But the trial will do.
For your convenience, I'll copy moneytoo's instructions and complete them with the registry files.
Backup your registry. Turn off WiFi and/or other network connections.
Delete all BT devices and COM ports. This is not necessary but recommended.
Turn on BT on the watch, then turn on BT on your WM device. Try to pair them. After entering the watches passcode (0000) WM will most probably cancel with a wrong passcode message. Just try again, after the second try it usually works. If it still doesnt work, try disabling BT on watch when you get to the enter passcode screen. Once the devices are paired, turn off BT on the watch.
Check your BT device address. On the PC, rightclick the MBW-150_1.reg file, chose "Edit" and follow instructions in the file. Safe the file and transfer it to your device. Now execute the file MBW-150_1.reg on the PocketPC and merge it to your registry.
Now you can add and assign a new outcoming COM port to your MBW-150 (it must be COM5) in your BT manager. Check the Bluetooth settings, it might be already there. If not, create and assign it (COM 5 on MBW-150).
Now execute the MBW-150_2.reg file. You don't have to edit it, it contains general information.
Now go back into your Bluetooth settings. Check for an incoming COM port. If none exists, add new incoming COM port. It must be COM6. Now softreset/restart your device.
Start smartWatchM and select Start . smartWatchM will output screen messages, telling you to start the communication on the watch.
Turn on BT on the watch, watch the devices screen if smartWatchM produces some communications output. If it doesnt after a couple seconds, press left top button (FF) on the watch.
Few seconds later, the watch is ready. Now you can test vibrate / ring / message events.

Yeah, "pixel font"... This is the right term. That's I wasnt able to find anything useful using phrase "smallest font". :)
Just a really really small update (v0.1.4.1) - new icon and cab installer.

http://www.robbythek.de/pixelfonts5.php offers some. I just really quickly scanned the site and found "Orange Kid" and (I wonder why ;)) "Ericsson GA628" to be good candidates.
The pictures: Since pixel-fonts are created for specific font-sizes they only look good in that size or doubled or trippled etc.
Above how it looks in its 'native' size, below scaled to readable size (usually double the size it's made for)
Damit. Only 4 pictures allowed per post. I have to manually compile a big picture then. Just a sec, I'll attach it later to this post.
Back in the days, when I did webdesign, I remember SEVENET7 and SILKSCREEN to be my favourites. But IMHO Kharon and Teachers Pet looks quite suitable for the task ahead. What do you think?

I installed Resco Explorer with registry editor, edited the reg file, and transfered it to my phone. When i try to execute it with Resco Explorer, it ask to import the file, to which i respond "Yes"
But then i get an error: "The specified file is not a Registry script"
Any ideas? Thank you soo much for your help. I hope i can get it working soon...
EDIT: I looked around and i think i need to enter another first line in the file, but i don't know what. I think it is windows mobile 6 (HTC S710)
Now it is "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00" but that is not working for me
If i get this working ill make a decent tutorial on my blog with screenshots for pda-noobs like me ;) and post the link here.

I got the scripts imported!
It seems you need to open and edit the files with notepad, and not another editor like textpad (what i did first). When i opened them with notepad, and saved them, transfered the files to my phone, it did work.
I have another problem now, i cannot select COM5 for outgoing port, only COM6 and COM7. Any ideas on this one?

I edited the files I used on my own PDA. When you export a part of your registry using Resco Explorer, it adds the same line.
I suspect the editor you used to cause the file to be "corrupted". Not really corrupted, but there is stuff happening in the background your editor (Windows Notepad...) doesnt show. Line breaks for example. I guess, Resco expects a certain format and freaks out if it isnt. And Notepad isnt exactly a splendid editor, now is it... :-/ I'll look into it, give me a moment...
Edit: I didn't see the rest of the thread as I directly responded to your comment. So it was the issue I thought it is. Well done on figuring it out yourself ;)

Is there already another port named COM5/6? On my device I can chose from COM0 up to COM9. Try deleting the registry keys created, unpair the watch, delete all ports. To actually make windows 'unload' the ports, softreset the device. Once it's back up and running again, start the process from the beginning, eg. pair, 1st reg file, ... Once youre done, softreset again to make windows load the COM ports you've just created.

This really may not work. I havent tried your reg files but one friend of mine was trying the same (he made his own .reg) without any success. Maybe there is some security restriction so you cant create new keys but only edit.
Dr. Brainiac: It should be fine. Set the incoming/outcoming ports to any COM (you have to set the correct registry entries as well). (restart) Then select the incoming port in smartWatchM menu.

I only find information about the incoming port in the registry files. My incoming port is COM6, but my outgoing is COM7 instead of COM5.

Is it normal that i get errors when i start the smartWatchM application from the menu? Might be because of the outgoing port, but if not, here is some error info:

I have paired a few devices since i got the phone, but no devices are left when i go to the bluetooth settings except for MBW-150.
Is it possible that information is left behind in the registry somewhere when i removed the devices from the bluetooth settings?
If that is the case, how do i make sure i have all ports available again?

I have found a registry entry which contains the allowed ports. I added COM5 and deleted the registry entries from before. I made sure all deviced are deleted, did a soft-reset and walked through the manual again.
The manual does not mention a soft-reset after settings up the ports, but this seems needed for the application to work.
To sum up: I got it working thanks to you all !!! I'll be making a donation in a minute because i am soo excited, it is truly awesome.

Hello, I bought the MBW 150 today to get it running on a T-Mobile MDA 2 (Tytn). I performed the following steps:
1- Clean Reset T-Mobile MDA 2 (Tytn) with WWE Schnaps WM6 Rom
2- Resetted the MBW 150 (4 Times Bottom Key, activate Pairing mode by pressing upper key, hold Both key's Up and Down for approx 5-7 seconds till the screen lights up)
3- Made sure that the Tytn is visible enabled "Make this device visible to other devices."
4- MBW 150 in pairing mode (4 Times Bottom Key, activate Pairing mode by pressing upper key)
5- Selected the MBW 150 on the Tytn and pressed next.
6- Used "0000" as the pairing key on the Tytn
7- You will see a cross blinking on the MBW 150 and a message Your device did not connect with MBW0150.
8- Press "Ok" and press next without using a passkey, next screen will appear and press Finish.
9- The Icon for the MBW 150 is a Blue Bluetooth Icon.
10- Alter the Registry files provided in this thread, use the Bluetooth Address on the Back of the MBW 150. Also removed the lines which starts with the ";" which gives the comments what to do.
11- Installed Resco File explorer with the Registry add-on.
12- Tapped the "mbw-150_1.reg" and check the bluetooth Manager.
12- Option to add an outgoing port is available, only ports 2,4 and 8 are possible.
When I checked the proposed Brainiac hyves for "\Ports\SupportedPorts" all entries 0-9 are available. Only when selecting "Com5" I get "The COM port could not be created. Please check your settings and try again" So I sleect COM2 just to try it out, no luck :(
I changed the "[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Se rial\Ports\000000xxxxxxxxxxxx\" String Value "Port"= "COM2" to COM5 I soft resetted and in the BT manager it say's Com5. Butt I still not able to use the Smart Watch Software. When I try to Edit this Com5 and again choose Com5 I get the same error as above.
Do I need any .NET framework packages? When I starts it it wants me to download an "NETCFv35.Messages.EN.cab" I think it's a cab which contains all error messages.
Does anyone has any sugestions? Is it possible to use another port (2,4 or 8) instead of port 5? i only see the option to change the Incomming port (Com6 default) and not the outgoing port..
Best Regards Tom from Netherlands.

@Moneytoo
While waiting for someone to respond (Fast Respons, thank you!) I check the new phone from my GirlFriend (T-Mobile MDA III , aka, Kaiser) with T-mobile original shipped WM6 Dutch Rom. I performed the same steps as mentioned in my posting before (I didn't Clean Reset the Kaiser though) and used the same editted files.
Running and configured in one swift way, CID and new SMS working (How does the menu work on the MBW?? Can I read the new SMS? <<< Never Mind I have read your first posting more thoroughly! Content will be added later) Anyway, I had to give back the phone to my GF... Continues with the hints Moneytoo provided.
1) I checked the registry, entries are really added. I also use the 'Long Press Power Button' to shutdown and restart the device. In some forum threads is a 'Known' issues that you need to soft reset cleanly to activate any registry settings.
2) So the Smart Watch program will check on multiple ports to push any information to the MBW??
3) My workstation @home is an Vista 64bit and I have trouble to use USB and Mobile Device Center, I will try to install the provided .NET link tomorrow.
As a workaround on step 3 i founded a CAB file called "NETCFv2.wce5.armv4i.cab" this however didn;t want to install on the Tytn (not for this processor). So I found another cab called "NETCFv2.wm.armv4i." and installed it. Resetted the Tytn and performed all steps (Except the Clean Reset) removed all devices an registry entries.
I get a different Error message when running SmartWatch:
cabError: System.IO.IOException: An error message cannot be displayed because an optional resource assembly containing it cannot be found
at SerialStream.WinIOError()
at SerialStream..ctor()
at Form1.menuItem3_Click()
etc etc etc
Looks like the same error as "Dr. Brainiac" on page 4, except Brainiac got the COM5 running finally. Does SmartWatch got an Debug of TXT Log file so I can send you any usefull info?
Looks somthing wrong with the used firmware, the Kaiser was running in 5-10 minutes. I will try the .NET download link tomorrow on my work.
If you have any more clues, your allway's welcome!
Regards Tom

Hi tom
Check one of my first post's, I got exactly the same error. I traced it down to now having softreset the device after fiddling with the registry.
I run sWM on a Touch Cruise, Xda orbit 2 respectively. I have OS Version 5.2.1623 Build 19129.0.4.5 and obviously I met all the prerequisites to smoothly run the program. Isn't the Kaiser up to par regarding OS and thus .NET on the machine?
I'd double check the ports, eventually delete them again. SerialStream.WinIOError looks like some stuff going wrong when trying to access (IO) a serial port. What exactly it means, I dunno, ask the honored programmer *bow*
Report back if it worked.

Just a newbie question. Is it battery and memory hungry to keep a constant connection? Because I remember awhile back using a bluetooth headset and it basically slows down the phone by heaps... and probably not too good for the battery either.
I use a Trinity (dopod d810), 400 mhz cpu, 64 RAM

Hello Alfred,

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=4141 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=362218
And found out that there are several 'issues' which could occure:
1. - Unable to get a partner schip, please read the first post letter-by-letter. I got it working to fill in "0000" first time the phone asks and fill in nothing the second time the phone asks.
2. - Be sure that the registry file are edited with a 'dumb' editor. Most of us use Resco Registry (it's an add-in for Resco File Explorer). When 'imported' the registry please check with the editor if the registry chances really occured. Use a soft reset by press-and-hold the power button long enough.
3.- Unable to get an Outgoing connection on Com5, if you read the thread you will see that there is a registry value called "available ports" you should check if COM5 is on that list.
4. -Strange .NET messages when starting the smartWatchM, please check if the phone has got .NET installed. If unsure you allway's can try to install http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=AEA55F2F-07B5-4A8C-8A44-B4E1B196D5C0&displaylang=en

I think I'm close, I also 'fiddling' the device and the MBW-150. I performed Clean Reset again on the Tytn and installed the .NET as provided in the link. No, luck, I changed "Outgoing port" to COM2, so now it say's "MBW-150(COM2)" and editted the Reg2 file so it would create an incmming port calld "Incoming Port (COM4)" (I thought, when creating a Outgoing Port I only can use 2,4 and 8, so let's pick those ports to experiment). After the soft reset I still got error messages when starting smartWatchM (I changed to incommin 4 in the SWM).
The I performed following:
1. Use the right down buttom key and select the Bluetooth icon (first Icon on my watch).
2. Press top right button, you will see a cross in the Bluetooth icon.
3. Disable and enable the Bluetooth on the Tytn PDA.
4. Enable bluetooth on the MBW 150 again (right bottem key and then select bluetooth icon and press top right key)
5. Fire up SWM and press start, yeah "Waiting for connection" :) It's working!!! :)
So only resetting the Tytn wasn't enough had to reset the BlueTooth on the Phone aswell. I will be looking forward the upcomming releases aswell. OFFTOPIC, this weekend it will be http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnaval#Netherlands and I will drink alotta Beer... Check you paypall account, i will buy you some beers aswell!

@Schaggo "Another thing: my mum called me today and the watch only vibrated without showing the number."
Is it solved in your MBW and PDA environemnt, unable to find it back in the thread? I have the same problem (Not exactly the same, it's not your mom who's calling me :) but the CID isn't working).
In my post prior to this one I reported that it worked, the MBW was showing the incomming Phone Number. The Tytn was totally empty cause of the Clean Resets i performed. After syncing to my Exchange test environemt the Tytn was loaded 500+ contacts with multiple numbers for each contact. Also I have some general business phone numbers listed on several collegues. I also use Contact Pictures, so each contact record is pretty bigg.
Perhaps the routine to fetch the Contact isn't perfect? Or is it something the .NET stack should provide without any problem?
Can I perform any testing Moneytoo? Or create any log files to see what's going on? As I recall, on the Kaiser of my GF yesterday my name was showing on the MBW 150. On the Kaiser however are only 120 contact with single numbers, not that complicated.
Cheers Tom

I can not for the life of me get it to let me choose COM5 as Outgoing I added COM5 to the SupportedPorts but it's still not showing up
As you can see on one of the latest posts (6 posts prior to this one) I succeeded to use other ports then the Com 5 and Com 6 ports. In short, this is what i Did:
1. Clean reset your device and MBW Watch;
2. Pair as innstructed;
3. Alter the Registry 1 file as mentioned so your own BT Watch Mac Address is in the registry file;
4. Apply the file on the PDA and check if the settings are really added in the registry of the device;
5. Shutdown Bluetoot on the device and Soft Reset the PDA;
6. If the PDA is booted, go into the BT manager and try to create an Outgoing port, first try COM5, it should fail as you mentioned (You don't need secure connection);
7. Try all the other possible ports and write the ports down who DO succeed. In my trial an error run I got an working outgoing port on Com2 Com4 and Com8.
8. If you tried everything please pick a port (This is like a lucky shot), i did my lucky shot with Com2. So now the BT manager should say "MBW-150(COM2)".
9. Alter the second Registry file, Find and Replace all 6 into the second 'free' port. In my case this would be Com4 (I also could have chosen Com8). If you leave the second registry file 'as is' it will create an incomming port Com6.
10. Apply the second registry file;
11. Shut down the Bluetooth connection and clean softreset the PDA. Also disable the Bluetooth connection on your MBW Watch!
12. Check the Bluetooth Manager, it should say "MBW-150(COM2)" and "Incoming Port (COM4)";
13. Enable Bluetooth and install SmartWatchM;
14. Change the Incmming port in the SmartWatchM application, as you have changed it aswell, in my case I changed it to Com4;
15. Press "Start" in the SmartWatchM application, it should say something like "Waiting for connection"
16. Now start up the Bluetooth connection on your MBW Watch again and follow the 'communication' commin by on the PDA screen.
Please be sure you are using a Clean Resetted device, if you get alott of 'garbage' on the screen when starting SmartWatchM you should check if .NET 2 SP2 is really installed. You could try to Clean (Hard) reset the PDA again and start oof installing .NET 2SP2.
If you are still running into problems, please tel us the Brand and Model of your device. Also try to give us as much of details about the used Firmware (WM5 WM6 custom or orginal shipped, which language etc). You could also try some Other ports, please tell us which ports you were able to create an outgoing connection to the MBW - 150. I see from your prior posting that you are using a WM standard (Smartphone) device, I'm not completely satisfied that this procedure is 100% matching with the stepd for a Smartphone. Above procedure is for an HTC Tytn (Windows Mobile 6 Professional), please let us know how you are doing.
Good Luck!
AARAGGHHHHH They guy fixed it while I was writing a HowTo ... I hope it will help someone else aswell! Good Going AlfredTV

This is result of incomplete initiation. You may try these steps. This I've found to be the best setup:
1. Turn off BT on watch
2. Open sWM and select Start
3. Turn on BT on watch
4. Without pressing button wait until commands start and stop. Now the caller cumber/name should be displayed
Hello Moneytoo,
I want to share my findings and perhaps you have another great suggestion to try to solve my next issue. With the above procedure I had good luck yesterday, when someone called me I saw the name on the watch. In a regular working day i go to the toilet and kitchen several times. The MBW 150 vibrates and shows me an 'diconnected' symbol to warn you that you are to far from your phone (this is true, i leave my phone on the desk). When I got back at my desk and receive an E-mail the watch informs me, so re-connecting is no problem.
In the afternoon i demonstrated the CID to some collegues, and at that time it was only showing the phone number :( I tried the above procedure, I also tried to restart the Tytn, no luck. The only change with the morning test is that the watch was several times dis-connected because of my kitchen/toilet visits.
When going home I added my bluetooth Leadtek GPS receiver to the list. Tomtom was working fine with the bluetooth GPS receiver. Got some calls and all the time only the number was shown and not the names for those persons (the name is showing on the Tytn PDA)
I could try a 'Clean Reset' to get to the state that names where working on my Tytn, I rather wait for your comment to check if anything needs to be fixed or sorted out. For your information, I'm running on Outgoing Com2 and Incomming Com4.
Cheers, Tom

Hello Bartito,
Are you saying "It is compatible with lg-style-i headset" just to share this information with us.
Or are you saying "Is it compatible with lg-style-i headset?" and asking us if it is?
I have found no problems with using SmartWatchM simultanious with a BlueTooth GPS mouse and navigating. So I assume other Bluetooth devices should be working aswell. Please bare in mind when adding the registry entries and trying to get SmartWatchM to work that deleting all other devices or even 'Clean (Hard) reset your PDA could improve trouble shooting, if any offcourse.
Best Regards Tom

I've just got some ideas which can improve it a lot.
Hello Moneytoo,
Some other comments related to Contacts and perhaps CID improvements:
1. I also use PocketCM (Finger Friendly Contacts and SMS manager), this program is running in the background. This program wil probalay also use the contacts database.
2. On all times, the MBW is showing the number I see a Name and Picture of this calling contact on my Tytn PDA.
3. I have contacts with multiple numbers and pictures.
4. I have the same number (general Business number) placed at several contacts, the PDA Tytn is showing the first contact who has this Business number filled in.
5. Exchange Active Sync is enabled all times, this aplication is push based and perhaps also writing reading the contacts database. This EAS was running yesterday when I did have names on the Watch when someone called me.
6. I do have allway's a number showing in the screen when someone rings, so the 'only vibrate' problem is gone because of the 'incomplete initiation' procedure you sended.
7. All numbers in my phone are in the "+31 (53) 1254786" format, it is a format which is used in Outlook to distinguish Landcode - Region and Subscriber number. Most people place the zero (0) between brackets, this has no use for Outlook and perhaps future Voip calls.
Cheers Tom

Hi, I monitor this thread the last 3 days. For now I have not a MBW-150 but it sounds really great here what I read. I have the T-Mobile Vario 3 (HTC Kaiser) with the standart rom. Do somebody here have the same phone and got the watch running? The MBW-150 is still quite expensive and I just need a "Yes" before I spent so much money...

I have a HTC Tytn T-Mobile branded with a 'cooked' rom, to be exact a cooked Schap's Rom version WWE 4.30 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355774 And i got some trouble to get it running.
My Girlfriend has the T-Mobile branded MDA III (HTC Kaiser) with original shipped Dutch language Rom. On this device SmartWatchM was running in 5-10 minutes (didn't need to change anything just follow instructions and use the registry files), CID was also working. Unfortunelately I had to give her the device back.
I say, it should be 90% sure you can do something with the German T-Mobile Kaier and MBW-150 combination. If everything will be working flawlessly I don't know, but something will work! I found a website on www.kelkoo.nl selling the Music edition of the watch for €159,- perhaps this helpes aswell!
Good luck deciding, I did the gamble aswell, I have no regret it works for me and i have FULL trust in Moneytoo that some nice features will be happening!

I have made some small change in v0.1.4.3 so maybe this is what helps (it may not appear immediately, just wait few seconds after the watch starts vibrate).
Added messaging info screen (press stop button) and WMP info displaying current playing track (no WMP control, yet).
Few questions for everyone: :)
1) What feature do you miss most? What would you like to do with your watch?
2) Do you use Notification repeat?
3) Does everything works?
4) What's the lamest thing/feature of smartWatchM? What's needed to focus on and improve?

1) What feature do you miss most? What would you like to do with your watch?
More control over the device. More control over other features. Media player control wouldn't really be that bad. I just discovered that I can use my device as a portable video player in the car when mounted in the GPS crade :) And not having to operate it using the touch screen would rock. But get the important stuff done first before fiddling around with multimedia stuff... Maybe you could make use of MortScript to get some decent stuff done...
2) Do you use Notification repeat?
Yes, 10 times all 3 minutes. Should do... :)
3) Does everything works?
More or less. Sometimes the connection breaks and you just can't get it back doing a clean initialisation. You have to disconnect, turn off/on bluetooth etc etc to get it back working. But it's coming along nicely, very very nicely.
Eventually you could implement some sort of volume control. So if I'm driving and using the hands free function, it would be great to regulate the volume "blindly" from your wrist watch. You'd have to think about the battery meter then of course. But since the watch supports "long press" of each button, could you do something out of that? Batterymeter is a long press and volume a short press. I don't know, just an idea.
4) What's the lamest thing/feature of smartWatchM? What's needed to focus on and improve?
There isnt really anything lame about your program, but what I discovered today: if you have unread emails and unread SMS and you query the phone using the stop button, there is no delay after showing "New E-Mail", the "New SMS" gets sent immediately afterwards. When there are different unread/missed elements and/or calls, smartWatchM should wait a bit after sending one notification before sending out the next one.

Hello Moneytoo,
To be honest, I was sleeping, I was walking around with version 1.4.1. all the time. I just discovered 1.4.3. (An to my disappointment missed 1.4.2. for testing) The caller name is working great, sometimes the watch is first showing number to show name in an instant afterwards (Software has to look it up or something). I haven't tested is yet wit the BT GPS connected and walking to the kitchen several times.
What i liked very much is the 2 lines of text (used the Extra test feature) it readable. I thought those fonts would be to small, butt it is verry workable!
Few questions for everyone: :)
1) What feature do you miss most? What would you like to do with your watch?
1. Reading SMS messages would be my most wanted feature. Best would be that the screen could scroll Vertical instead of horizonal. Did you checked if you can scroll Vertical Lines?
2. I agree with Schaggo, more control over the watch, perhaps the 2 softbuttons on your Windows mobile device could represent the two bottoms on you watch (top and bottem left buttons)
3. Reading E-mail "Sender" and "Subject Lines"
4. RSS feed 'ticker' so you can customize/personally your watch with your preferred feeds.
5. Calendar notifications, so when your appointment Alarm rings you MBW notifies you with the subject of the appointment.
6. I also discovered the 'stop' button screen which shows the missed calls, unread E-mail/SMS/MMS summary. I never use MMS, perhaps you could add a configure options that it would check the number of unread messages of a 'custom' subfolder of the Inbox. This is a feature even my PDA Tytn has not got:
a. On our Exchange server I receive all my E-mails in my own mailbox.
b. I have placed some 'Outlook Server Side' rules on Incomming E-mail, so when a Message comes in from my work, this E-mail will be placed directly in a Subfolder of my Outlook.
c. These subfolders are also present on my PDA tytn, so when the ExchangeActiveSync has syned, the 'Work Mail' subfolder has a few unread E-mails.
7. PowerPoint slide show controll, next and previous slides. So between the PDA Tytn and my Laptop should also be an connection. This is a longshot, i Was beta testing some SideShow software (http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2417960&SiteID=1) butt they stopped suddenly. They had however a Side Show rendered for a Windows Mobile device aswell.
8. The game Snake eats apples on the watch, top left button makes the snake turns left, bottom left button makes the snake turns right.
7 and 8 are 'WILD' ideas and not totally serious :)
Few questions for everyone:
2) Do you use Notification repeat?
Never used it, what does it do? I will enable it to find out, perhaps it is a reminder each X minutes that i missed a Call? I will report back to you after the Carnaval!
Few questions for everyone:
3) Does everything works?
Yes everything seems to work!
Few questions for everyone:
4) What's the lamest thing/feature of smartWatchM? What's needed to focus on and improve?
Some people say's that SmartWatchM needs to run 'as a service' . To me it isn't a bigg deal, On both PDA's I can "exclude" the SmartWatchM application from the Task Manager. This way it is only visible from the "Memory Manager" or just by activating the SmartWatchM application again.
I think, looking at most of the questions, a better installation instruction/procedure/install script. Few people have had problems with finding the free COM ports and adding the registry entries. Also the need of the 'right' version of .NET is not completely clear for me, i used your download of .NET Sp2.
Well, i was waiting for you to ask use any feature requests.... Hope this list isn't long enough :)
I will be off-line for three day's it is Carnaval in the Netherlands, so alotta beer and music will be over-floating my brains next couple a day's.
Greetings from Tom

What I found: If no upcoming appointment the watch shows "Appointment: 00:00, 1.01.01". And you have to read *really* fast to get all the information on the Tasks screen before it scrolls away :p A change of order of items might not be wrong, but I can't come up with anything better... You can get weather from multiple sources, so you're not bound to the cities the htc home plugin offers.

From time to time the watch reports a lost connection though.
Watch and PDA are on the table and out of the blue the watch vibrates and shows lost connection. Dunno if it's a fundamental bluetooth problem or some communication errors with the program.
Do you have WiFi turned on? I have just experienced the same out of the blue disconnections when the WiFi was on. The COM port is still open but can't send/recieve anything to the watch. Then the connections stoped working at all and I had to master reset the watch again.

The same reason...I just like the design better, as well as the strap. But what features does the 150 have that the 100 does not??
My dad bought the MBW-100. Definitely more elegant and classy (for the business type). It weighs more, because it has a metallic strap instead of a polyurethane one. The ONLY TWO TECHNICAL DIFFERENCES compared to the MBW-150 models, is that the MBW-100 doesn´t allow you to see the track name on the OLED display and that there is no "previous track" switch... source (http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=161392)
This Means no extra features will be usable because I use the "track name" for text output from Windows Mobile (so no text will be visible, only envelope when receiving message and caller name on incoming call).
Which edition (Classic, Music, or Executive) do you use for the development of this program? Do you know if there is a functional difference between the three?
I have the Classic edition and I was confirmed it works on Music edition as well so it just must be compatible with Executive as well.

I don't know about the Abacus watch, but moneytoo is perfectly right about the differencies of the MBW-100 to the MBW-150.
The differencies regarding the MBW-150 editions are just housing and straps. The inside is absolutely identical, except the music edition having an orange display.
I don't know about the MBW-100 software features, but on the hardware side it offers less buttons. As moneytoo said, theres no "Back/Volume down" button.
If you like the MBW-100 because of the design, you might have a look at the MBW-150 Executive Edition.

is possible to connect the htc (x7500), the headset (lg style-i) and the watch (SE) at the same time.
in this usage, the watch vibrates when a call is incoming and the headset is enabled to speak ??
thanks for your reply !!

v0.1.5.2 - Excellent update mate!
I still have the "Appointment: 00:00, 1.1.01" happening though. Other than that, great progress. It's amazing, how fast this app is being developed. Since January 24th when you first pointed me to this thread, the application went thru like 5 major revisions. This is insane and the feature set is getting, well, huge!
I love Windows Mobile. I love expandability. Eat that, Mr iPhone ;)

Thanks for the info. As always. ;) I believe you won't see "Appointment: 00:00, 1.1.01" with the next version any longer (it's fixed on smartphones but it seems I have to fix it another way to make it work on Pocket PC too).

Hi there guys!
Suddenly I'm experiencing some problems with my watch. It won't give me any message of incomming calls (no vibration, no name on screen). What could be wrong?
(Only thing I've tried is softreset.)
Thx, Pål

Turn off WiFi.
Try restarting your WM device, turning off/on BT on both WM and watch.
If it wont work, try to change the Incoming COM port number.
Last chance is to master reset the watch, sometimes it helped me because the watch was refusing to connect anymore.

The watch and connection to the PDA is really great, because i can set my phone to a silent profile and let the watch notify me of everything.
The only problem i have is that my phone needs to wake me up at night if i get text messages or calls. This means i cannot forget to set the profile of my phone to 'normal', or i miss important & urgent calls or messages.
I have no idea if this is usefull for others, but it would be great if i could set a simple schedule that switches the profile of my phone.
For example:
at 8:00 in the morning it should set the profile to 'silent'
at 22:00 in the evening it should set the profile to 'normal'
Maybe it is possible to get the available profiles, and let people add schedules with two parameters: hour & profile

Hello,
today MBW-150 Executive Edition is my Clock ;-))
Asus P750, WM 6 Phone
Here my first Impressions
+ Caller identification = Worked
- SMS notification = Worked, but NOT the "Caller Number" displayed, only "New SMS" and NO vibrate
- Appointment notif. = Worked (sometimes) but Message displayed 3-5 Min. later or never.
- Weather = NOT Worked, (My PDA is Asus P750, NO HTC) with SBSH PocketWeather 2
- Very often "Vibrate, but NO Display Text on Watch" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1871441&postcount=46)
By the Way .... is it possible to start smartWatchM automatic (Autostart) minimize, resp. Backround ?
Is it possible to change the Text messages into a other language (German) ?
Despite MY problems, I donated you 16,66 $ ;)
Please continue.....

I think there are enough other programs who can do this e.g. phoneweaver (http://www.sbsh.net/products/phoneweaver/) For me I see no necessity for this.

I think an auto start feature would be great, instead of launching the program then clicking start.. I believe build 1.4.1 had this feature... but the newest ones don't
The Abacus bluetooth watch doesn't have any of the features beyond caller-id, new sms, missed call vibrate... all other features do not work... so if you are looking to buy I would get a mbw-150

Aaargh... moneytoo beat me! :D
Hello,
today MBW-150 Executive Edition is my Clock ;-))
Asus P750, WM 6 Phone
Congratulations! Herzliche Gratulation :) Excellent choice.
-----
The symptoms you told are because of a faulty initialisation. Try the following:
Firstly deactivate Bluetooth on the watch, then on the Asus. It may sound paranoid, but I would even softreset the Asus. Reason: I once activated the watch without hitting Start in sWM. I then deactivated Bluetooth on the watch and hit Start. Immediately sWM received some commands from the watch, which were broken (no linechanges and squares). I reckon, commands are being queued and sent to sWM once you hit the start button, resulting in an improper initialisation. Softresetting would definitely clean everything out.
To do the initialisation: Leave the watch off. Turn on the device, activate Bluetooth and hit the sWM Start button. Once the program is waiting for commands, you can activate Bluetooth on the watch. If the pairing was successful, the watch will automatically start to send initialisation commands. Now everything possible with your configuration (Asus=No weather and such) should work. Good luck mate!

Yes, I know about the problem with "Incomplete/Unclean initialization" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1871441&postcount=46) but it do not solve the Problems with:
- SMS notification = Worked, but NOT the "Caller Number" displayed, only "New SMS" and NO vibrate
- Appointment notif. = Worked (sometimes) but Message displayed 3-5 Min. later or never.
- Weather = NOT Worked, (My PDA is Asus P750, NO HTC) with SBSH PocketWeather 2
It only solve the "Vibrate, but NO Display Text on Watch" Problem.
At least not with me :o
I will correct the appointment notification soon.
Oh, good you know about the problem :)

Maybe later ?

Check the test commands:

Do you get of of range? The watch may not reconnect succesfully... It works for me but not may be 100% every time.

Hi Paul,
thanks for this support.
Unfortunately there are is no simple installation guide. Sometimes the registry, watch, ports, etc. may act unpredictable so I guess everyone here spent some time looking for the right setting.
As you recieve the watch, try to use schaggo's guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1865037&postcount=24). If there is anything unclear, just ask where you're stuck and we all will try to help you.

If you add SWM to the exclusive programs-list in "Task Manager", it should be minimized (just like an "in tray" program at your PC). It maybe called other things than "exclusive", but if it possible on your device, you will most likely be able to fix it in the Task Manager.

0.1.5.3
- small fixes (No upcoming appointment - no date/time)
- RSS (experimental)
- autostart option
- proper reconnection when return in range
small fixes - schaggo: Does it work correctly now?
RSS - Well, it's not much useful for now. It's just made it to show your colleagues how smart/better your watch are. :)
It only displays randomly all your RSS feeds (both read and unread) in a endless loop. To start/stop, select volume to level 9 and press Stop button on watch.
Additional software on your WM is required! By default it's set to read RSS from HTC's RSS Hub which is basicly rebranded NewsBreak by Ilium. If you use Newsbreak, you have to edit registry value "rsspath" (in HKLM\Software\smartmadsoft\smartwatchm) and point it to the xml's of Newsbreak.
autostart - set this option on to avoid clicking Start button.
proper reconnection when return in range - theoreticly, I've made some changes which should help but I havent had enough time to test it so if you have problems with reconnection, the watch should reconnect automaticly. You don't even need to press single button on the watch (it may take 1 or 2 minutes for the watch to retry connection).
Please report if this fix helps.

I think this must be connected to your Asus PPC. As far as I can tell, everybody else is on a HTC device. Does Asus use the default Windows Bluetooth Stack or do they rely on Widcomms/Broadcoms Bluetooth implementation?

The MBW-100 will display caller id and vibrates on an incoming call, this is correct. The MBW-100 and MBW-150 are very alike, software like. Once the call control functions are implemented, you will most likely be able to silence/ignore the call with the MBW-100 and -150. The MBW-150 only features an additional knob and can display windows media information. Other than that, they are identical. Of course I stand corrected, if I'm wrong.
???
I do not understand anything, Sorry
LOL...
I'll test the new version and report any findings. I was just about to complain about the out-of-range-merely-able-to-cleanly-reconnect problem and I find a fixed build instead. Great work, I'll test it to the bones ;)

Greetings and thank you in advance for your responses.
I just got a MBW-150 Music Edition, and tried to follow along all instructions.
I am unable to pair the watch to my TyTN II, no matter what I try.
When I make the device appear on the device List, there are no services associated with it, and conversely no COM ports listed.
I have reset, soft reset, deleted all devices, edited the reg_1 file with the watches' Bluetooth address (from the backplate of the watch), all with no luck.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Use DotFred's Task Manager in regedit mode to import thr reistry files provided.
I realise that the part 1 is not structured well and results in two "folders" one of which shows as xxxxxxx in my device registry, so use the editor to cut and paste the contents of that in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\de vice\001ca4423xxx "folder" and soft reset and contimue from there. ;) I actually imported both reg files provided before I could create the required comm 5 port on my touch cruise. Good luck with your endeavour :eek:

Another nice feature would be if it could display speed and bearing from the pda's GPS.

Same as previous.
Can't be changed.
I've already implemented some feature removing accented characters like "á, é, í...". Ok, i will try the German letters.
And whole Englisch Translation into German ?
New SMS --> Neue SMS
appointment ---> Treffen
Calls ---> Anrufe

I was thinking about sailing, riding a bike or skiing. But there are plenty other activities where speed is useful information and not very hazardous to read.
It would be advisable to use the big font (one line) on the display otherwise it would be difficult to read when everything is moving.

I've just tried that and it correctly removes the accent. So when the callers name is ÄÖÜ, it converts it to AOU. The only problem is ß. Should I replace ß with s?

I would suggest it being done this way:
ä -> ae
ö -> oe
ü -> ue
ß -> ss
since it's been used when the "¨" letters are not avalible.
But it's only my opinion :)

I'm about ready to spring for one of these watches, but have a few (dumb) questions about the watches first.
These are like "regular" watches right, in that I can switch the watch band from leather/plastic to metal? I like the looks of the watches, but not the extra money for the executive model, just for their band. Another reason for the change is that my wrist is too big for most "standard" bands, so I would probably need to either use my existing band, or buy an extended one that will fit this watch.
If so, to be sure it's a standard width, could someone post the width of the band in mm where it attaches to the watch? This is the measurement I need: |-----|

My leather classic edition: length of the wristbands is 10cm + 6cm, in total (with casing) 23cm from last hole to the pittle pin.
Width is 23ish milimeters directly at the watches case.
The disconnection feature seems to work brilliantly till now and the no-appointment is fixed on my device as well. What I noticed is that smartWatchM stalls when you try to read RSS when you never used RSS before. It threw "Error" and didn't really react anymore, I had to kill the process and softreset because it locked the COM port.
I dont know if the XML (dont know which one) doesnt exist or what the error is, but I never used RSS and it locked smartWatchM.

Ok so i'm not sure if this is a limitation of the watch or the software, but my abacus mobilewear watch doesn't display any detail when a sms, or email is recieved. It just vibrates and shows the envelope symbol in the middle of the oled. Also when using the test functions the 2 line text test doesn't work. I can provide detailed test data if needed (which functions work, what happens when they do or don't.) By the way great work. Have you thought about opening the source on this one (you might be able to get some help (not that you need it)).

Unfortunately, Abacus MobileWear doesn't support this feature. But there is small chance of getting the text output another way. I will add some test feature to the next release and will tell you what to check if it is possible or not.

I guess this is the same problem as with WiFi. Probably some other connection (or Windows Mobile) block the connection with the watch.
But it can be because I've set up or something wrong or don't use it right. I'm still trying to get more information about this and find better solutions if possible.

It does work so far I can see but on my E-ten x800 there are a few minor things;
- running the program in the background as service, eventually the phone locks up
- selecting a function with the volume bar that's not mapped to a function, often a soft reset is needed to make it work again
Some improvements (maybe some device related)
- program is not autostarting for me (though it auto enables bluetooth for me)
- I could use milliseconds for the stopwatch
But the main functions seem to work, though haven't done extended bug hunting.

Another thing I noticed is when the phone is out of range I get indeed a warning on my watch, after like 2 min, maybe this can be after like 30 sec?

everythink works as it is writed in this thread
there is just some problemes
the methode to swith the information displayed is not usefull, because it's difficult tu select one by volume level, it would be nice to have have some numbers or to switch directly between each one
the things that would be great for me and that would make this program complet
>>fixe the bug when we switch to rss (watch crash ?? error ??)
>> emprove the connection (like a bt headset) the program starts automatic and connexion made automatic (after a reset for exemple) with no need to turn bt of and on on watch
>> be able to stop the ring phone by pressing any key of the watch (just like you touch /rottate the volume boutton on the kaiser) or simply rejet it to stop the ring tone
the best would be : one press > stop ring tone two press ject call
>> contol the music player (next back play stop pause) from the watch and lauch player by pressing play
>> synchronize analogue clock with the ppc internal time
>> the mesage text scrolling on screen by pressing any key (to read it quickly / because sms are short message, no need to pick up the phone to read a few words)
>> one extra (but not neccessary) in the info screen , something to lauch the "check email" (because i am not using exange server)
so i have nothing for the moment to report, i test it since 4 hours, work as it is writted
my watch is the mbw-150 clasic edition
i'll report if the is something

I don't know whether this was reported but when an appointment notification shows up. Often the time does not match the subject. ie the time displayed belongs to a different appointment as the subject displayed. Most of the times subject is from the correct appointment.
It could be caused by the fact that there are overlapping appointments in my calendar. It seems that the time shown belongs to a different appointment that starts earlier and ends later than the appointment of which the subject is shown and which is starting at that time,
Another thing I noticed is that ever since I installed smartwatch, the ringer volume is often set to zero without me doing anything. Could it be that smartwatch causes this?

When a program is minimalised to save resources windows mobile will close it down.

Did you paired your watch to the phone?
Did you gave the pairing a name?
If both questions are yes then go with a registry editor (Resco) to:

The 001ca4432xxx after the slash of device is your MBW-150 adres

Reconnection and communication is indeed much faster now :)
Time out is shorter now too, about 60 sec, way better.
Btw you can add the E-ten x800 to the startpost as compatible device.
SmartWatchM is starting to work real nice, not many things I think should be different.
Only thing I'm still struggling with is the plugin selection with the volume bar, and the app that closes down due to low memory from mainly navigating.
I think you should mainly work on the app itself now, make it better, autostart/hide function, simplifying the pairing, that sort of things.
For weather I installed HTC Home for now, small but the weather is also working.
One thing I noticed, the stopwatch plugin is gone?
Can't seem to select it with the volume bar anymore.

Here's the latest version of my application for MBW-100 (may work with other models). Currently at version 0.1.2
I pretty much rebuilt my original application from the ground up to make the software easier to use and make it more practical for the addition of new features.
This version currently supports the following:
1. Pairing of a new Watch directly through the app (added support for different pins).
2. Establishing communication with an already paired Watch.
3. Creates a registry key (HKLM\SOFTWARE\btWatch) for device setup and options.
4. Options Menu to enable/disable features.
5. Current Options: CID, SMS, EMAIL, VIBRATION and Number of rings to Vibrate on.
6. Fully functional incoming call notification (name/number + vib for n rings)
7. Notification of incoming Text Messages.
8. Notification when new Email arrives.
9. Digital Date and Time are synchronized with the phone.
10.Added debugging mode to allow you to see behind the scenes for testing purposes ("Monitor Connection")
Setup is fairly simple. Extract the 2 files from the zip to a folder on your phone and run btWatch.exe. On 1st use select menu->setup->add watch. If your device has been paired click search, otherwise set watch to pairing mode then hit search. Select your watch from the list and click connect. Once this has been completed you will only need to press the connect button in the lower right on future use of the app.
To use it after the device has been setup simply click connect and press the button on the watch used to display the date. The watch should vibrate after a vew seconds and the date/time will also be updated. You can change options at any time whether the watch is connected or not. There is a test menu so that you can check that Call/SMS notifications are working as well as enable debugging mode. When you are happy with your options you can click the x in the upper right to minimize the app and use your phone as usual (with the added benefit of your bluetooth watch).
Anyway, I hope you all like the new version! Please let me know if it works with your watch and also let me know what make/model of watch you have (and version of WM) so that I can ensure that the software is compatible with all of them.
Edit: Recompiled app so that it should work with WM5, WM6 and Smart Phones. Made a minor change which should allow MBW-150 to connect, but will need to be tested. Also added cab installer (not for Smart Phone).
Edit: Here is a revised version of my app for the Smart Phone (also works on WM5/6 PPC). I also posted a new version of the WM5 (PPC Only) cab installer. Use the Zip for Smart Phone.

Yes

Yes same problem
wake up probleme after long standby
At the time no problems
reconection after lost contact : didn't work good, i had to stop and start bt on watch to reconect
Yes, unfortunately the same problems
My wishes (In this sequence) :
1. Autostart/Hide function
2. Appointment notif. (2 to 3 repetitions and some longer duration of the Display)
3. Even better / more stable Reconnection / Out of Range Feature
4. Simplifying the pairing
5. Use Weather Infos of SBSHPocketWeather 2

I'm trying this again and again but it since v0.1.5.3/0.1.6.0 the reconnection works great for me. I usualy leave the room, short after I get out of reach notification with vibrations. So I return back - 1. I wait a while (1-2 minutes) and the watch are successfull reconnected 2. I press a button on watch and the connection is immediately re-established.
Anyway, I will change some settings of com port in the next version so you could see if there is any difference or not.

I have been keen of buying the MBW-150 for a long time ago but didnīt because of it not working with Windows mobile.
But two days ago I stumbled across this thread and I bought one! And I installed your application and it works like a charm. I have no problems at all with the reconnection on my Tytn II. I often walk out of range and when I am coming back in range it reconnects itself without trouble. Thanks for you incredible work

Do I read this correctly that these are the fast forward, play, and pause keys, and they are working on the MBW-100 and Abacus watches as dual function buttons, and duplicate the dedicated buttons on the left side of the MBW-150? If so, this is way cool! :D

Don't panic. Just turn off BT and restart. Remove the partnership in ActiveSync / WMDC.
Virtual COM over BT should broke cable synchronization with pc.
If you can't connect the watch to Kaiser, just master reset the watch. It's in the manual. Then pair againt with Kaiser (no need to edit registry again, it should wourk just like that).

update v0.1.6.1
- minimize/hide option
SWM will be minimazed or hided after successful initiation automatically (you have to set this in settings).
Minimize - just minimaze the window, the program is still visible in task manager
Hide - sWM shouldn't be visible as application in task manager but as process. To make sWM visible again, press FF on the watch (press and hold top left button).
- shortcut to StartUp folder
After installation, link is placed in the \Windows\StartUp folder so sWM loads after the WM restart.
- sound
One sound is for succesful initiation and the second for lost connection (this sound may not be played every time). You can turn on/off the sound in settings.
- reject incoming call
Reject incoming call pressing top right button twice. This works on my smartphone, does it work on your devices as well?
- Windows Media control
To start Windows Media control mode, select volume >5 and press&hold middle left button (Play).
Because of really simple way of player controlling, Windows Media must be running and visible.
To pause/play press middle left button (Stop).
To skip to next track press top/bottom left button (FF/RW). RW doesnt work yet.
To change volume... change volume :)
To exit Windows Media control press&hold middle left button (Play) again.
Hope you like it and it's working. :D I test everything on smartphone so if something isn't right just let me know.
