Hello all,

I have a WIFI network at home that is hidden, which means that he SSID is not broadcast into the world. You have to know it to connect to it, and I also made it very long.
This is not a problem on my laptop, which connects fine, if slow sometimes.
However, on my kaiser, this gives serious problems.
The first day i got it I happily entered all the required settings (SSID, WPA-PSK, network key etc) and pling! I was connected. Yesterday evening however I noticed that all those settings were gone! I entered them again but couldn't connect. And presto, settings were gone again!
Why doesn't it remember the settings I punch in? Is there any way to enforce this?

Thanks,
Philbert

Strange, because mine retains the settings of any hidden WiFi network that I've put in there.

hello
i use WPA/PSK-TKIP encryption on my router.
at wifi settings in kaiser, you have to add your hidden ssid name, and check "this is a hidden network" checkbox.
it works for me fine:)

(ps.: i use MAC addrass filter on my router, my pda, notebook and PC's MAC's are added to my router, and they only have access to my router' internet.)

This is a bug within MS WM OS, not a problem with your device or anything HTC have done. It should hopefully be resolved in 6.1 (hopefully!)

I've seen it on my own unit at times. If the unit has trouble connecting to the access point and there can be many reasons for this, WM gives a 'burp' and settings are lost.

Try updating your router firmware or use AES encryption instead of TKIP as some earlier versions of TKIP are not fully compatible (Linksys is a prime example). :)

Thanks for replying everyone.
I just switched on my wifi and it immediately found my network, without the need for inputting my settings. I think this problem occurs only when the handshake with the network times out for some reason.
So that makes it only a nuisance that appears sometimes, not a disaster.

Thanks,
Philbert
