I've just looked in the Folder on the FTP server.

There isn't a 12.29 ROM. Which one did you download? Can you re-upload it?

I try to dump, but I have problems right now on the first step.

Mtty dosn't work with my kaiser. Can't connect USB. I use a lot mtty when I had an SPV c500, so I know how it is working. I disallow usb in Activ sync, start mtty and use usb connaction, but it doesn't work. Not under vista or XP.

Any idea?

You need to manually install XP version of WMD driver, check link

Dumping the radio rom is not the problem, re-constructing it into a usable flash file is where the difficulty lies.
At this stage I do not believe this is possible without a lot of hard work.
I understand it is being worked on, so soon this may be possible, but until then, or until a complete update WWE comes along with that radio built in, we shall have to be patient.
That FTP location does not have the 12.29 radio rom. Other versions yes, but not this one.

It's not working. Still get "usb port can't open" error massage, when I try to start mtty.

I've got this radio in my Orange UK branded TytnII.
I looked on the FTP server but nothing there, if people need/want this
radio then I'll try and help out!

Never dumped a radio before, here goes nothing lol!

Seriously though, at work at the moment, will attempt to dump and reconstruct and (hopefully) upload tomorrow

Hi Kremo,

Many Thanx for uploading the Radio.
I dont know how to reconstruct it but let us hope we find the solution:)

I have this radio on my ex-Orange branded Kaiser and I don't quite get why there's such demand for it. I haven't tried any other radio yet so my basis for comparison is severely limited. However, I don't think there is anything spectacular about this one. The 3G connectivity does sometimes fall down to two bars (in the centre of the capital city!), when the speakerphone is on the other party nags me about bad reception etc.

The thing is that when you're returning your device for warranty repair it should have original software as it was shipped. Orange Kaisers are shipped with 12.29 and that's why people need it so desperately...

irvo
6th February 2008, 04:16 PM
Ah.
Didn't think of that one -- despite the fact that possible future warranty claim was the main reason I had flashed a ROM that would keep the radio intact. Doh!
:)

k4syx
6th February 2008, 05:06 PM
Well we couldn't do that since sim-unlocking procedure involves overwriting factory radio with special one.. :(

Luckily, here in Slovakia Orange has ceased to sim-lock subsidized phones some years ago. Less hassle to deal with. I still kept the radio though as I was overly cautious when doing my first ROM flash.
Well, good luck to you guys stuck with a less friendly Orange.

hi guys,
I do have a kaiser in original conditions. with the Radio, Rom and CID intact. i also need to do this for myself, if i need it in the future. I am sorry i dont hav much time at the moment, but i will upload a complete set of Radio and Rom for Orange UK Kaiser, in a few days or may be tomarrow.

Does anyone know how can you extract the Splash Screen for Kaiser. I would like to keep that in back up as well, as i hav custom splash on my other phone. I will include this in the set.

Regards

These fies will not work for reconstructing the radio. I need a .nb file to reconstruct the radio. If you can get me that.

I have already created a flashable Orange UK ROM, complete with splash screens which I contributed to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1586817&postcount=2

The only thing missing from this is the radio, which while we have a dump, cannot be converted into a flashable nb ... yet ... besides which Orange UK now seem to be using a newer radio (1.27.14.32) as per http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1821844&postcount=18, but that radio is not available either!

I don't believe there is currently any way to take a dump of the radio in nb format. The files provided by kremo (thank you by the way) have been created using the method described here by jockyw2001 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=359015 - in that thread he roughly describes the process you need to go through (lots of hex editing, patching and joining by the look of it) to turn the dump into something flashable. So, in theory you CAN use the provided dump to reconstruct a flashable radio - but no one has done it yet.

I can dump only these files. If anybody tell me another method, I will try, I promise.

Hey, I am on UK Orange and had 1.27.12.29. I followed the sim unlock thread, substituting 1.27.12.32 for 1.27.12.29 and it worked fine. Now fully unlocked and using Sleuth's WM6.1 ROM with Radio 1.64.08.21.

:-)

Cheers
