I have to carry two phones for work and personal use. I'd like to listen to mp3sc or streaming audio from the internet from my personal phone while working but still be able to take work calls. Taking personal calls would be a very nice addition also.

Is there a headset that can do this? What about a single ear unit?

Personal phone... TMo Wing (Herald)
Work phone... Nokia 6103

You can look at jabra BT 8010. It works as single ear unit or double as stereo with included spk.

Many headsets can pair with 2 or more devices.

I have the Sony-Ericsson HBH-DS970 and I really like it - great sound - minimal weight and appearance - you can tuck one earpiece into your shirtpocket for work use if you need to leave one ear free - nice LED controller for music - see this review (http://www.infosyncworld.com/reviews/n/6967.html), their only complaint was lack of a clip - I just pulled one off a headset I didn't like much, attached to this, and I'm good to go. I think the DS980 is the current version.

I like the Plantronics 855. You can use them single or dual. More discreet and light weight than the Jabra 8010, I have those too.

Also can pair with more than one phone or mp3 player and they pause for phone calls. A2DP.

..better battery life than the S9s, pair with up to 8 devices. i love mine, listening to them now in the office. they also handle handoff really nicely - other headsets i've had have been a pain when they go out and back in range...
