This rom is really fast, it seems stable. Just 3 little problems so far, plug ins for spb diary do not show except defaults, pocket player skins do not show, always keep default skin. Bluetooth audio is not recognized, only handfree.

There is problem appeared: SD card (2gb) keeps on disconnected on no obvious reasons. Have to slide out then in again and it works. Could be that Wisbar advance&desktop creates problems. Otherwise so far so good. Tested WPA-TSK (TKIP) on various occasions (3COM and Linksys wifi routers) - no problems. Even after automatic turn off it connects without problems
Same Problem ... SD 2gb disconnects itself & sometimes it shows only folders (without files) in the storage card.
I'm not running Wisbar softwares on my device but I've SPB Pocket+ installed !
Other than this problem, I find this ROM to be fastest of all..!

I think you will find THIS PAGE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=336149)has the file you need and I can confirm it works on mine. BUT put it onto a clean ROM before anything else. I tried to put it on mine once I was having problems and it didn't work then. I'm into my third day on this ROM and the SD card shows every time.
Also, The fault on the camera buttons is cured well by reassigning the camera button back to the camera, even though it is already. Not everyone had this fault I understand,

This was the best ROM so for for me. I have been using Jwrightmcpsrom and this one was ten times faster and more stable

Only problem I have and its a big one for me is I use T-mobile trigger plugin. I could not get it to get the email automatically. I would have to hit send and recieve myself. I guess saying that I have to return to Jwrightmcps latest rom.

where the hell did this rom come from it runs sweet no hickups no lag no crashes. uses allot of ram mind you who made its apps? love the new messaging sms interface much better rid of today screen lol.

wow defo love to see more roms built on this or like this. smooth blend of steak and chips yummy.

The cab you kidnly had referred to was installed on clean rom (supposed to be after HARDRESET)... Did not help, sad to say. Could that the version is 1.0, while there is 2.0 is available but wasn't able to find

I did a hard boot on this rom four times to reinstall software, and each time I can set up email no problems. I did use setup on the message section, not on the "getting started" section.

One problem I have had is that the camera says not enough memory when saving to 4gb SD card, but it is fine saving to internal memory. Not come accross this one before.

this is the best rom i have used. I have the 64 version.
Just one thing.
the weather does not update via gprs also mms cant be sent or received.
May be i can send a mms but i tried a lot but cant receive any mms.
Please find the solution.
But i love this rom and snap vue is cooooolllll.
just needs adding fast dial app like that of htc home

I think we have the same problem. Even setup from Message menu, or 'getting start' menu.
Still can't create email account.

My only wish/complaint of this ROM so far is the lack of screen rotate, comm manger and battery icons on the today screen. Anyone know how I can add them? I've tried Helmi's CABs (from his WM6 OS 5.2.318 (Built 15341.0.0.0)) but they don't seem to have done anything.

Ok, maybe not the battery icon (I've now added Ariel's battery prog) but I certainly miss the screen rotate and comm manager icons. I need the screen rotate for TomTom (assigning a button only rotates the landscape into the upside down orientation, not the correct orientation) and I use the comm manager icon (rather than the keyboard) for WiFi etc.

Why not just use the hardware keys for the comm manager (FN+ arrow right)
and assign another key (for instance the backlight key) to screen rotate.

this will keep your todayscreen free from " rubbish"

Wout, As I said in my post above (the one you quoted) the screen rotate assignment to another key does not work. It only rotated the Landscape (right) to portrait and back again so is no good for me. I want the screen to rotate from landscape (left) to Landscape (right) then portrait again. As to the comm manager, it's only possible to use the keys if the keyboard is open. I often use the device with the screen folded back on itself so you can't see the keys, hence the need for a screen icon.

Could you use something like cLaunch, or iLauncher to give you an icon on your today screen? I use the attached CAB to give me a rotate function for use with TomTom. I tend to use my Universal "laptop" style, but if I use it in my wife's car I put it in PDA mode, and then use a shortcut on my iLauncher bar to put it back into landscape mode.

If you Google it, I'm sure you'll find different versions of the attached program to give you different rotate options.

This one is a Hell of a ROM! Plainly awesome how fast and stable it is. Opera 9 Beta works flawlessly out of the box!

If it included SPB PocketPlus it would be even better.

4.5 out of 5 stars.

Agree... As a hard-core Rom-junkie, I have tasted all Roms in all kinds of flavours.
This series from PDAviet is the best so far.
I now use the 2.61.20 and it´s even better than the first. Fast even though i have lots of programs running. Even Opera 9 goes perfect.
Feels like my journey for the perfect rom is finally over :-)
All flashers should at least try this one out...

Truly amazing.
This is by far the best rom I've had on my uni.
Nothing was even remotely close to this one in terms of stability, and performance.

Although... I do have some issues with wpa-psk. :/ As I can see I'm not the only one.
Any possible solutions to that guys?

the latest PDAviet rom is very good, very fast... but i am experiencing a serious problem, my jasjar seems to do a soft resets by itself after a few hours on non use ?? i have radio rom version 15, SPB GPRS installed (latest) and push mail to exchange working...

i have reloaded the machine and ensure there is no other software loaded except for above as mentioned, and machine still resets itself ???

anyone else experience this major problem ?

When I want to install this ROM it shows error. I connect my pocket PC (Qtek 9090) via USB cradle and it synchronises through Active Sync and everything looks fine,
but when I run the ROM the Active sync connection disapheres just like that and comes the error sign :eek:

help me :confused: I am going crazy reading how all of you are so pleased with ROM and I cant see it.:)

Have you followed the guide in the wiki? You need to turn off 'allow USB sync' in connection manager and make sure you put your device into bootloader mode (hold power, light and reset button).
At what point do you have problems?

Its all in the Wiki (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Uni_ROM_Upgrade)
but to simplify:
1. Sync with PC and then disconnect from PC.
2. Go to activesync settings and deselect -Allow USB. This stops the activesync working but still allows USB communication to your XDA.
3. Put device into bootloader screen by pressing power, light and reset button at the same time. When released, the screen should be blank with NO backlight (might be hard to read)and should say serial at the top and something like 1.x or 2.x at the bottom.
4. Connect the usb cable and the screen should now say USB at the top.
5. Run ROM Upgrade Installer and follow instructions as you have done. It will take up to 20 mins to do a full reflash so make sure your battery is fully charged first.
6. Remove USB cable and then do a hard reset and select 0 for a full clear
7. Switch Allow USB back on in Activesynch and then reattach USB cable.
8. Device will now be 'found' by the PC and continue to connect and resync.

DO NOT REMOVE USB CABLE AT ANY TIME UNTIL TOLD TO DO SO.

I am not responsible for any 'bricking' of your device. I have flashed many times (currently on PDAVIET but it seems to like resetting) without problems. You do this at your own risk.

You should follow phil.cooke's steps exactly. Turning off "Allow USB" in ActiveSync only turns it off IN ACTIVESYNC. The ROM installer is a separate program and can still use USB to update your device. The whole point is to make it so ActiveSync doesn't get in the way of the ROM installer.

Anyone else having a reset issue with this ROM? I keep finding my XDA has (soft) reset itself without requesting it, ie I have no programs showing in the recent list so I know it has been reset.

All I am running is the ROM, ariel's battery tool, RotateSE270 and TomTom. Everything else is as standard.

Unfortunately the device is going into boot mode and when i start the installation of the rom it reaches 7% and then it stucks :(

first relax, you are stuck in bootloader due to a bad rom upgrade.
if your pda can connect to your pc
(on the screen, the "serial" changes to "usb" when connected) you are fine, simply reflash the rom.
if not:
first try This (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Uni_Stuck_Bootloader_Serial) and then reflash rom.
or get an expert (i've never tried this :eek:) and try This (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Uni_Stuck_Bootloader) and then reflash rom.

Read the wiki and update your bootloader to v1.01, because most newer roms require this bootloader.

and i am not sure which to download...well I downloaded the second one and I kind of forgot how to flash on VISTA..working that part out...

BUT just to see what happens I kept my phone on...not bootlogger..and ran the install for the rom. Mind you I chose the second link to download, and i got an error saying country id error and that this program is not made for my device.

So, should I try the first link..or does it matter? I have flashed before, but just can't remember and I have been reading everything again so that shouldn't be a problem...hopefully

watch out, you might brick your device. this thread is for the HTC Universal aka qtek 4040/imate 2005/o2 xda exec/dopod 900, etc. the term 'universal' is the htc code name & doesn't mean universal = for all devices.

break? please let us know what is wrong and perhaps we can point you to a fix. the wiki's very helpful.

xda-developers is just that - developers. the usual saying "if it aint broke, don't fix it". if you don't mind trying a development out, then try the 'fixes' here! there's usually a fix for something that gets broke.

although, there's some pretty awful stories about universals being run over by Rav 4's. however, i think the fix there is outside the scope of developers. perhaps better try ebay :D

posting how it's broke, what you're unhappy about, can help other uni users and most of all the developer themselves.
