The phone skins look like the TMobile version .. Was this leaked from one of the new TMobile Athenas?

There doesn't appear to be any differences between this an WM6, with the exception of a 'Getting Started' tool on the Today Screen.

Thanks for your great effort. The download link seems to be broken, so I can't try it yet. May be you're trying to update it to include the 192 dpi file and xip. Any case, I look forward to having the fixed version in a day or two.

the xip is not missing. when the rom was ported only the imgfs was ported so the xip from i believe 18125 was left over. u would need to port the xip now. im hopping to get a athena build of wm6.1.1 soon. im looking into getting something newer than the 19716 kaiser build that is floating around.

the build will have full features of the new wm6.1.1 and latest opera. it will prob eather be a cooked htc or tmo athena build. if not ill eather get a uni build to port or as a last resort do a port of the 19716 floating around. just be patient. i need to get the build then eather port or cook and properly test. but it shouldnt be too long. for now enjoy this build and my latest rom.

That said, it's still a great find. While 6.1 isnt everything I was hoping for, the threaded SMS app will be a great welcome :D Thanks, hdubli!

well if u got as far as porting the imgfs u arent half bad urself. personally though i LOVE porting xip. idk maybe its just the tools i have from cmonex for it or the fact that cmonex teached me how to do it. still the rom i bet is very stable. i would flash but i cant find the time to do it bc setting up would take me a while. :)

Are the only improvements the zooming capability of PIE and threaded SMS? No other difference at all? Does the PIE zooming works with PIEPlus?

Is the phone skin better under realVGA?

Any performance and stability difference? Better or gone worst?

Any new settings?

What about VOIP? Can we make VOIP call without third party VOIP clients and the XDA tweaks?

Are the new browsers any faster?

While making these ROMs, I mean porting, I really learnt that how much effort is required, so many errors and one has to tackle them ,trial and error methods, and lots of other things.So I can also imagine, how much more efforts are required, when one builds a custom ROM, VIZ yr PK 3, and the amount of time,efforts spent by you.So I really appreciate yr work here in athena section, and more to come in polaris section. :)

OK - I don't have a clue what I'm doing. At the moment I use PK Dual. Is it worth me flashing this? What would I gain? What would I lose?
How would I go about flashing it? PK ROM was easy, I just downloaded and ran it - so simple even I could manage it!

I installed this ROM and also the add-ons from the 6.1 addons thread and it is awesome. Very fast, very stable and the improvements in PIE and email apps are well worth the upgrade. Go for it guys.

You need AP Dual 3.0 or any other rom. Put this new nbh file into the rom folder( Ex AP Dual 3.0) and replace the existing one. Then use the update utility inside the rom folder.

Thank you for your ROM. I like it better than the stock ROM, especially the zoom feauture of PIE and threaded SMS.

It certainly boots up much faster than the WM6, and I can notice this distinctly. Not my imagination.:)

one of the easiest ways of flashing .nbh files is thus;

Rename the .NBH file to ATHEIMG.nbh and copy it to your miniSD card. Press camera+com manager+soft reset to bootloader and wait for reading ATHEIMG.nbh from SD. Remember, the miniSD card must be formatted with a FAT32 filesystem before copying the file ATHEIMG.nbh to your miniSD. After finished, do a soft reset.

i have noticed it too. i am just going to leave it that way cause i very rarley go into contacts as most of my calls are done through voice command. but you could always try to install a different contacts program.

I installed this yesterday and like it but my phone (UK T-Mob Ameo) has locked solid 3 times since -anyone else suffered lock ups necesitating a soft reset? Might have to go back to PK Dual if I can't find why.

I got this installed on my Tmob yesterday, and had it lock once this afternoon, something to do with the power saving I think. All in all though, now its nearly PK Rom 3.1 with all the apps and extra's reinstalled, I'm impressed - loving the grouped SMS feature, the fact that I now seem to be able to read all HTML e-mails from my work exchange server, and seems to be about 10-20% quicker. GPS seems a little flakey, TomTom and wififofum can access it, but other apps can't (including the camera). I just get GPS cannot be initialized.
Also, the Tmobile connections settings input manually just dont seem to work as well as any of the other roms where the connection setup runs automatically.

Can't wait for a PK build of this (or whatever the secret is). Still trying to locate decent instructions to do this mysef. But excellent leak!

For those of you who are really into threaded SMS or SMS chat, you might want to try out this product, especially if you're still using PK's ROM.

You might decide to stay with this even after the WM6.1 upgrade. It is very finger friendly.

OK - my first lock up was just after I had installed it - I think it hadn't finished as HHC wasn't displaying properly asnd after the soft reset it all worked finr.

The other two lock ups were when I tried WMP - after I ran the WMP fix cab it has worked since - so I think it was a case of user error (OK, stupidity) and it all seems fine now.

Thanks a lot for a great ROM, loving the threaded SMS. Will probably stick with it until PK4.

I had a lock up but it was more to do with me forgetting to disable the plugins before sticking em in ultimate launcher..
two issues I've found with this 6.1 build.

older .tsk don't work,
the date is showing as well as the battery on the top bar, can't get rid of it.

I tried the new PIE with the zoom feature from this rom. And I must say that I don't like it, it has the zooming, but the High Resolution feature has disappeared. Finally, it's not good surfing with the new PIE without the benefit of the VGA screen.

Can someone point me in the direction of a cab file that allows the automatic setup of network settings as per the 'official' and PK roms, after a hard-reboot? I've tried configuring all my T-Mob settings manually using all the resources that google will give to me, but i still can't send/receive MMS messages, and T-Mobile's configuration by text doesn't work either. The only thing I can find on XDA-Dev is 'do it manually' lol. :D

I've bunged it into ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Athena/TMobileUKFixed.cab.zip I'm sure someone else can find a better location for it.

This doesn't show the setup screen, you just run the cab, but it seems to work quite nicely.

couple of things i noticed that dont work/ dont work well

no MSN capabilities, i tried loading different versions of mobile messenger live onto it and it just gets stuck, no resposnse at all

also once you go to contacts, it shows all the contacts and you can call directly from there if you press the green call button,

BUT if you click on a contact there is just a black screen, no info, unless you click on notes and then you can see the notes you have created to for that contact but nothing else

i like this rom, its just missing the hotmail capabilities which offer push hotmail which is great

I had the same problem - I called Tmob and they did a some sort reset from their end and my phone was working within 10 seconds.

2 comments about this ROM.

1) not a big fan of the TMO dialer skin or the outside window TMO skin. Is there a way to get this back to the standard look and feel?

2) Whenever I open the phone and dock it to the keyboard it no longer "wakes up". I have to hit the power button.
