First the usual "appologies" that seem to be "a must" in this forum.
1.) Reason for not posting in the V4 thread is simply because that thread is too large, too full of non-subject replies.
2.) I have read the 2:nd FAQ post, does not even mention the problem with the GPS
3.) I have read the wiki
4.) I have searched the forum (and it does not even find anything because GPS has too few letters)
5.) I have browsed through 50 pages in the V4 thread and did not find an answer (and got tired reading ).
So, my problem:
GPS does not work after I installed the V4 rom. It did work in V3.
I have tried quick GPS, I also started GPS-tool (which did not get a fix either or find any satellites).
The orange blinking LED does not start when using GPS tool (it starts in miomap however).
And googlemaps does not get a fix (or find any satellites) either.
My radio is 12.32 , if that has anything to do with GPS?! I have sim-unlocked the phone. I live in Sweden.
I read a few posts where people seem to have a problem with their GPS after changing radio, even when they revert back to their original radio. During the sim-unlocking process the radio is temporarily changed, maybe that is the source of the problem?

What is the deal with everyone starting new threads instead of posting in the thread where it needs to be.
MY gps works just fine. 1.27.12.11 radio with dutty v4 rom.

I like it.. you apologised for not following the rules.. then didnt follow them. excellent.
The Dutty V4 thread is the one most likely to be of use.. I know its full of people not posting in the right place.. but adding to that isn't going to help.
As to the problem.. People keep reporting GPS issues with the Radio ROM's... Now It may be me but the radio rom shouldnt have anything to do with the GPS... unless im mistaken its a seperate chip and will have a seperate flash (which you probably cant modify)
What COM port are you trying to use? What are your External GPS settings set too in the control panel?

I got no problems with new threads on new issues. 150+ pages is just useless.
I haven't seen the GPS problem you talk about. Might try re-flashing your radio version, or a different version.

No neither do I.. But this isn't a new issue..
Loads of people are saying they have GPS issues after flashing..
At least a few of them I've seen are actually caused by people not understanding what they are on about (A few of the people seem to be confused by the fact the GPS may be on a different COM port after the flash for example)
the others all seem to follow the logic that changing the radio may help.. so trying that would be a good place to start (flashing back to the radio the device e shipped with for example and seeing if the GPS now works int he new Os with the old radio?)
I've never had a GPS problem.. But have seen all these fixes so many times whilst reading other threads I can regurgitate them, and thats without even searching for this issue.

Go through the setup again.... If need be try a hard reset then Run GPSTest
Ensure you are using a radio compatible with Dutty's ROM. Try one or all of
these first, then report back what you find if it doesn't come back.
You shouldn't have to duck when you poke your head into the forum. Just be thankful it's not a contact sport yet. Just because you're using one ROM or another avoid attributing the problems/issues with that persons ROM. There are so many things that can create problems and user error is the biggest culpret.
Who can blame you for not putting this under the ROM release thread? It's too broad, likely not applicable, and everyone and his uncle has posted something there.
Cheers.

Ok thanks for the answers. Somehow the GPS just started working again, but I will never know why :) I started google maps, mio maps, tomtom a few times, and suddenly after 2 days the gps started working :) I was just about changing rom and radio, but now it seems as if I will stick to V4 a couple of days :)
thanks!
