ROM's bult using no2chems work.

BEWARE YOU MUST WRITE DOWN YOUR SETTINGS OR YOU WILL BE ON THE PHONE WITH YOUR CARRIER.

VZW USERS THIS FLASH WILL CAUSE YOUR PHONE TO BECOME UNVALIDATED.
You must have the latest radio installed and your device must be unlocked. Radio and Unlocker can be found here. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=209996&postcount=2

If you are not a sprint customer do not allow the above flash to boot when u hit the calibration screen u must put your device into bootloader mode and flash your rom of choice.

If you are a Verizon customer doing this will require u to call Verizon and get a new akey this is easily obtained.

Remember USE AT YOUR OWN RISK...

Verizon / Sprint / Alltel / Telus / USCellular / Qwest / BellMobility.

All ROM's can be found here http://nex.ppckitchen.org/ROM in there respective folders.

All apps fully up to date to the best of my knowledge if not please post current and I will update in next release.

When it asks about customizations only install adhoc.cab unless u see a program u need.

Assuming this is for verizon. Phone is unlocked with Olipro 2.40, but have been waiting to figure out whether those with problems just aren't flashing right, or whether there are real problems with 3.16. List looks good and I'd be willing to try it- any chance of adding vzw wireless sync?

I can get it to you if you need it, but not until tomorrow. In the meantime, the website is http://ota.wsync.com, which has download links to wsync for the different vzw phones.

Hey -- once you get this bad boy going with your kitchen. I would love to get my hands on it too. I am Sprint here as well.

Are you on the new version currently? Are you having any data load (EVDO) issues? Mine were so bad I finally downgraded.
But now I feel lonely and want to join the party again if I can get the data to work correctly.

Ok I tried to build in the Wireless sync and I got it in but I am getting connection issues the wsync cab seems very entailed I am thinking a post installer would be best for use with that particualr program.

this just coming from myself, im not sure how Nexvision feels, but at this point there isnt a kitchen stable enough to release publiclly. my kitchen that ive been using is basically hacked together, i have a lot of extra steps right now to get it to build my custom roms that ive been releasing, and im not sure how clean nexvision's kitchen is, especially if it is built off my rom ;) as soon as a good kitchen gets put together, im sure someone will release it

Yeah -- trust me -- I did the same thing.
Over the course of the last 3 or 4 days, I have probably loaded and reloaded my phone no less than 6-8 times. Playing around and doing test. That is why I knew (maybe ignorance really would have been more bliss) that the data throughput with 3.16 was was worse (at least for me) then with 2.17.
But -- ohhh how I really liked 3.16. Seemed much more stable. And DCD's build (although did have some bugs) was really nice too.

true...well...theres clearly something 'stable' enough that a couple of people have pieced together a rom (like you have apparently)...others (such as myself) would like to build something to their own liking (similar to what you've probably done and nex...and a host of others) but are not as 'sophisticated' to piece all the parts accurately (i've tried...but i just can't quite get it)....now i'm sure you may feel a little uneasy ("...especially if it is built off my rom....")...but do allow others to possibly benefit from dudes like yourself and nex and a host of others...as you have probably benefited from others whom you put your kitchen together by......i absolutely can't wait for a stable rom kitchen (which we'll all be using soon i'm sure)....till then...lets all eat :D:D:D

well, like i said, i have to change something different each time, and try flashing a lot of times to get a stable rom. my rom may only be on r3, but i have made at least 25 roms, 22 of which didnt work in some way or another. Just give it a couple of days, or maybe nex's kitchen is clean enough to release. im not super experienced, just enough of a hacker to piece a kitchen together and get a rom put together. i am working on making it carrier independant right now, and that is the last major step for me to release mine.

NexVision,

Okay, finally got into work :p and ready to go, but I see that WM 6.1 is floating around on the forum, and the sprint-based roms that are appearing seem to be getting great reviews. Don't mean to be piggy, and not knowing anything about the cooking process, will you be updating with the 6.1?

NexVision
31st January 2008, 11:07 PM
There is a slight possibility if I dive more into this however as I have stated I love dcd's roms so a more realistic answer for you would be the only way I will update this is if dcd does not release his and I get it updated before hand. Once dcd does release his kitchen I would not expect to much more to come from my hands unless people want custom made roms. My point being this was simply for those who wanted to tinker and did not know how without the kitchen.

Who knows if I get some time I may read up a little more entailed and get really picky on it.

I'm not sure if you uploaded again, but rapidshare still says file as been removed. Quick question which version of flashvideobundle do you have in this rom 1.4.3 or 1.4.4? The old version 1.4.3 as you probably know already does not work with youtube anymore. I was wondering if you could release your kitchen also or maybe a little help in converting the new flashvideobundle cab file to oem. I've tried for a day now with package creator, and keep getting registry errors in buildos. Or if you be so kind to maybe just create the oem, and post it will very much appreciated. Thx!:D

I mean, if that's not the MOST understatement, I don't know what is, I worship his roms man, this last one still has the zip zep, still works a lot faster even after I added about 20 more apps/progz to it in the kitchen. Thx for the oem offer, but I didn't want to bother you, and just wait for your kitchen because you have several oem's that I don't have, but the flashvideo was the most important one at the moment as I was making a rom for my buddy in GA. With google maps, i am unable to locate any satellites...it goes in the ocean near africa and white and blue dot blinks forever... "21 KB. Seeking GPS satellites (0)..." & "21 KB. GPS active (0)..." shows on the status bar for google mpas.

I had the softkey issue to stop that u have to disable the memory meter. To do this hit the start button and go to quick menu then go to option under the view tab uncheck show battery on taskbar.

I have noticed a issue with wifi and bluetooth and got both working thru trial and error. As someone suggested in dcd's thread as this issue has to do with the rom make sure u enable your wifi via your hardware switch then also via the comm manager not sure what causes that.

I did see dcd is working on another so once he releases a new one I will rebuild with his latest and will most likely continue to do so as when he makes a new one I rebuild mine with his latest.

Hi NexVision. I haven't tried any of your ROMs before, but I just noticed that I use almost exactly the same apps as you cooked into this ROM (except I don't use Cube). Did you see that dcd just released a 2.2.1 ROM? I was about to flash it, then found this thread!! Now I'm thinking I'll just wait for your ROM, if you're planning to release one based on 2.2.1. :)

I am actually flashing his new one to my phone as we speak to check stability with my apps in it. I am thinking about trying some new things on it and see what happens while I love the HTChome plug it does seem to be memory intensive and since the more up to date windows gets the more memory it takes up. So the trick is to get a pristine OS (dcd's) then fine a perfect grouping of programs to fit it perfectly.

getwilde
7th February 2008, 04:12 AM
Sounds good. Yeah, I also love HTC Home, but you're right... it's a beast in terms of memory usage. I've been considering experimenting to find a good replacement. (I've been hearing lots of good stuff about PointUI and it's Today plug-in, but haven't tried it yet.)

This ROM looks great, but as a noob and a noob that has to sync with his exchange servers at the offices, I am wondering if there is someway to get SQL once this is flashed...as I am assuming based on DCD's recent builds that SQLCE has been nixed in your ROM as well.

A) I do need to have SQL to sync with my exchange servers, yes?? I am pretty sure, but been wrong before...maybe even several times before :o
B) I found a thread containing an OEM of SQLCE Mobile 3.5, but not sure if that will work, what CAB I would need out of it, and how to make sure that I don't FUBAR it.

Any thoughts / suggestions would be most appreciated.

BTW - I am rolling with Sprint.

sprint and no it was a stock flash, could it be an issue if i was running an older version of oli's bootloader ?

but basically I unlocked, put 1.20x oli on, flashed 3.16 so I could have the new radio then flashed your rom ontop and WAHMO reboots every few seconds and yes i tried a few hard resets .

The funny thing is I also tried DCD's rom and it wouldnt even let me get past calibrating the screen before it would reboot so I'm back to stock

This is actually caused by the thing u love so much.

To stop this u have to disable the memory meter. To do this hit the start button and go to quick menu then go to option under the view tab uncheck show battery on taskbar.

I love QuickMenu too. Great app. To clarify what NexVision said, this is specifically caused by the sub-setting "Show on all titlebars". You can keep the "Show battery on taskbar" enabled, and it will show properly above the Today Screen. But be sure to turn off the sub-setting.

I read some other thread that warned about the "Show on all titlebars" setting having adverse effects in other apps, too..

If you dont mind my asking what would u add diffrently as I am changing things around some as WM6.1 eats up alot of memory on its own. So my goal is to maximize memory and be functional. I have discovered that the HTCHome plug leaks close to 6mb of unrecoverable memory after about 5 hours. Things like this is what I am looking to avoid so I am doing alot of testing. The next build I post up will be taking all of these things into consideration. If I can shave mem from somewhere else maybe the HTCHome will be back but for now I have removed it attempting to narrow down the culprit.

Hi, I apologize for my lack of knowledge... but I am new to this. I have been searching for a while on XDA on how to load the Sprint ROM file that NexVision has provided, but having no luck. I have upgraded to DCD's new ROM that has GPS enabled and that has been working great. I am not sure how to upgrade from that to NexVision's Sprint ROM. I thought using HardSPL would let me select which *.nbh file I can load up, but not having luck.

I would greatly appreciate any help in guiding me to a ROM loader utility or instructions on how to load up NexVision's sprint ROM onto my Mogul

Thanks!

I've been debating with myself about keeping Home (among other things) as well. After a hard reset with just a few things installed (FTouchFlo, VistaHide Battery, and maybe one or two other small programs) RAM isn't really an issue. But once I load up the phone with Home and everything else, I run into some serious memory issues. Having to soft reset to run the camera is just not cool (even using Oxios often won't free up enough). Home is just so useful though. I don't know if I could live without it. Out of curiousity, what size pagepool are you using?

Hi NexVision, first of all, thanks for all your contributions with this ROM!

I have installed the radio as well. I retried installing your ROM a couple of times (repeating the RUU process specified on PPC Geeks), but it keeps restarting, even with it in "Flight Mode" (i.e. radios should be off).

I have reverted back to one of DCD's ROMs. I noticed in an earlier post you mentioned that you were coming out with a new version. I will try that out once you release it.

Thanks!

hey man i had the same problem last night and was freaking out what to do is download the new bootloader 2.40... a way to check your bootloader is to press camera power then the soft reset button if it doesnt work the first time keep trying then once you find out what it is if its 1.20 oli pro thats not the right one you need 2.40 and after that install the rom then it will attempt to boot up and wont then get to the bootloader and load the radio 3.27 and it should work!!!!

Continue looking and see what u find. I have tried pointui, (still aways to go before it gets built into anything in my opinion) I have it shaved down to 3 mb over 4 hours which isnt horrible but I am also bumping up my pagepool. So dunno I am going to flash now using the Samsung clock and today agenda and see what it does on memory. I am actually leaning towards UltimateLaunch only problem with it is it takes way to much configuring for my liking seeing as how I flash a couple times a week to test things.

Throttle is nice to but worse on memory then HTCHome. The sad thing is for what it offers I may end up sticking with it.

That's weird. I haven't had any issues with the newest one. Not that I really use it, but it is kinda cool. HTC Home has all the same options right there within finger reach.

Just my personal opinion, HTC Home is fantastic and extremely useful whether you are at the office or on the road. It makes a difference to be able to launch a program or dial a contact by touching their contact picture. I have a mount for my XV6800 and the functionality that I personally get from HTC Home is worth a bit of memory leak.

Nex, I've extracted the rltoday oem folder from Jbabey's beta rom from ppcgeeks, and was going to add to dcd's new rom 2.2.4, but I keep getting registry error on boot.rgu. I was just wondering if you were able to use this new rom. I'm almost certain that this registry error is dealing with the fact that the rom has a registry hack to display/show the extrom, since the log file shows the error on line 337 dealing with \ext\flashdrive. Memory leak is with HTChome and after multiple attempts and even removing what I thought to be the offending code prior to even building the memory leak remains. I have tried ultimatelaunch (uses to much memory), have tried rltoday (to dunno how to explain it just isn't fluid), tried Samsung time which appears to be the only one without a memory leak. Testing HTCPlus now.

Sounds like you want the cube which is not included in this ROM. There are a couple that can be installed from a cab file. VistaCube by PoorlyDuck is one. Another that is easy to use is SCLPC++ by Slither2006. These are available in the development and hack forum.

These are great! I only came across your ROM's a few days ago. I had DCD's with all your additions plus a few more apps installed. Going to try flashing the Sprint no PocketCM later.

Just a couple of questions.
- I have a Resco Explorer registration - So I shouldn't need to PM my ID correct, I should just be able to use mine?
- With TomTom do you still need to tweak it with that add-in program to prime the GPS with these latest ROM's?
Thanks in advance

HTC Home has the big clock on the main screen, then it has 6 tabs for contacts, app launcher, weather, and so forth. HTC Plus just has a analog clock and a application launcher. HTC Plus isn't as pretty as Home, but it doesn't seem to have a memory leak.

The HTCplus home plugin was my choice because it utilizes all the neccesary stuff msg's clock and programs. The HTCHome plugin is really nice however I cannot justify the memory leak on this device as it is so low on memory to begin with.

Ultimatelaunch is a phenominal today plugin however it is very memory intensive and I am having serious trouble making it into a OEM if anyone wants to get me a OEM I will gladly make a rom with it as I love the home screen.

Yes, so far it seems to be working, i haven't seen any problems yet.

I think ultimate luncher has a lot what to configure, so it's sort of pain in the neck.

Also the HTCustom is not working it's giving me an error. I will try to post it latter, but i am sure you can see it for ursef if u try to run in and save any changes.

You can't remove any of the programs that are pre-installed. That's because the are cooked in to the ROM.

I assume you mean from HTC Plus. No you can't change to a digital clock with this plugin.

Yes, you also need the new radio rom as well.

You must have the latest radio installed and your device must be unlocked. Radio and Unlocker can be found here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=362563

My advice is to read instructions carefully and then play with your phone :) Now what u need is to enter the bootloader mode. You can do that by pressing down and holding power button + camera button, and then soft reset with styles while still holding the bottons. That would bring u in the bootloader mode. Now connect your device to a XP OS, and flash the new radio rom with GPS and revA, or else it will not work. Good luck, and try to read the threads before flashing your device, you can really ruin it, I am sure it's not something u would like. :) Well Good Luck.

Not necceserly true. It depends what kind of rom u r trying to flash. Sometimes the rom update must acces the device while in bootloader, when that happens u need to have the right drivers installed on ur Vista (for some reason Vista has different defult drivers for mobil device, but XP drivers work), or esle it will not connect. And in my case, even with all the right drivers it still wont work every time since i am running 64 bit version. So it really depends on a lot of things. So the best way to avoid frustration just do all ur flashing needs on XP OS.

Ok let me once again make sure u doing everything right.
1. You have entered into bootloader?
2. You have downloaded the right radion rom 3.27?
3. You have the right bootloader 2.40 olipro?
4. You are doing all of that on XP?
Plus when u are in bootloader u will never establish activesync connection, that normal. All u need is for the update utility to see ur device.

actually its pretty easy to configure the launcher...u install TomTom, copy the entire AstroGPSLauncher folder to root, MOVE (not copy) the TomTom shortcut from AstroGPSLauncher folder to your programs folder or start menu folder...and launch using that shortcut. It launches AstroGPSLauncher and TomTom.

Go ahead and give this a try not 100% sure that Astro is working but since I dont use GPS on the device other then Google Maps cant really test it to much. If it works for ya then I will build it in from now on. If not I am going back to Baffles as using it is idiot proof.

Never messed with Opera mobile got a valid link ($ aint always a issue there are ways around that ;) " )

HTCHome will satisfy ur launcher needs MobiTV and XMRadio are just nice little novelties for if your internet at home goes down. Not sure what live365 is.

The sleep issue I had at one point during testing havent had it with any of the recent changes I have made though.

Guys by all means I am always open to new programs or configurations so please dont hesitate to post em. As alot of the things I use I have been using for years and there maybe something which does the same thing only handles it better. Yes the default IE can be removed and replaced this is something I would not recomend without some heavy testing though as it may have adverse effects.

Not sure what live365 is.

It's a pretty decent online radio portal that has free as well as preferred member stations in a TON of different genres...I listen to both this and Pandora pretty often...wish pandora worked on our Titans...anybody? anybody? yes??

I thought that might be the case so I just leave it alone for now, but if anyone has thoughts on this please PM me.

Nex - I'll make sure to let you know how my first run at cooking goes!

If I could get an Alltel minus FTouchFlo, Resco file explorer, resco registry, resco update, MobiTV, and XM Radio, XMmobiresetter, slingplayer, and last but not least PocketCM, that'd be awesome. :D Love it otherwise.

Oh, and for the record, mobiTV is very nice (first time I have used it) but a three day trial sucks. ;)

I just took the plunge yesterday upgrading my 6800 to all the latest stuff, I was scared as heck, but now, I am glad I did. I have tried three different ROM's and this one I like the best.

Installed the ROM on mine, and it is working great! With mobiTV and XMradio, after the 3 day trial, gotta pay obviously right?. I have been messing around with it for a while, and really happy so far. The GPS is too cool. I have been using HTC Home (not plus) and I havent been experiencing a horrible memory leak at all, but I soft reset my phone every morning when I take it off the charger, Ive just gotten into that habit.

Also, a quick question, it seems like people love the cascading start menu, but is there any way to turn that off possibly? Thanks!

EDIT: Just found the XMmobitvresetter under multimedia, looks like this resets the 3 day trial. Try that lucky13.

Cascading menu is Quick Menu when u click start u can choose to exit it if u go into the options of it u can remove it from startup as well. Or just go to Windows>> StartUp>> and remove QuickMenu.
