I have been thinking about doing a rom upgrade, mainly to free up space currently taken by the AT&T bloatware. However something has recently come to my attention.

People complain about video playback with the Tilt/Kaiser all the time but I have no such issues. I watch video on it all the time with no lag, freezes, poor quality, etc. I watch WMV's and AVI's and I use Windows Media Player as well as TCPMP, both programs work perfectly even with large file sizes. I also stream video from my home PC using ORB with no playback issues, same with youtube mobile.

I am worried if I upgrade my ROM I might be opening myself up to video issues other users seem to have. If I somehow got lucky and have a tilt without video playback issues, I dont want to mess it up. Would I be running that risk by upgrading to a new ROM (I was thinking about Duty's latest release).

No, you wouldn't be opening yourself up to any driver issues by upgrading. You already have the driver issue, you just don't know it. True the kaiser, in some instances can play videos just fine, but there is a huge potential for the device to be a whole lot faster than it currently is while playing videos, 3d rendering, and just overall user interface responsiveness. I'd recommend you jump in and try out a new rom. You will be glad you did. Make sure and do some reading until you are confident that you are doing it right. (install hardspl) After we get these drivers everyone is waiting on, our phones will be the fastest, baddest mofos on the market. I'm perfectly happy with my kaiser being driverless, but just imagine the possibilities when we get our hands on them drivers. Cheers! happy flashing!

I got my tilt the first day it came out and did not flash it until almost the beginning of this year. I'm so happy i did. If i was you i would take the risk. Duttys roms are awesome. and if you have any problems the new CorePlayer works great and you will notice an improvement on the video even though you dont think you have any problems already.
