USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Feb 3 update
http://rapidshare.com/files/88929555/RUU_signed.zip.html
I cooked this for myself, because with other roms i was missing voicemail notifications. I am using it right now and seems like its very good and stable. So i would like to share it with the community.
It includes most of the telus customizations ( yes its has ugly purple windows theme too)
scroll down for the link
Details:
Base Rom Version is : 3.15.651.0
CE OS 5.2.1622 ( Build 18128.0.4.4)
GPS registry settings are taken from dcd's 2.0 Sprint beta
It includes most of the stock stuff eg. windows live, office etc.
third party packages included are
Cloudyfa EsmertecJbed java.
Opera mini and Gmail midlets with proper shortcuts and no data access warnings, so be warned they wont ask you when it will acess data.
Finger friendly friends
Task manager
VistaHide battery Gauge
At first boot when telus customization run ppst.exe takes little longer, its makes you feel like its frozen, so be patient.
Comments and suggestions other than my bad english will be apreciated.
Edit:
extended rom has the followings
Signed_NAMLOCK.CAB
PP_PIE.sa.CAB
PP_WelcomeMessage_1.3.sa.CAB
WelcomeMessage.exe
MP_CVSDcpl_20070129.cab
signed_070319_7500_Telus.sa.CAB
PPST.exe
TSK.sa.CAB
DefaultRingtone.sa.CAB
WM5DST_signed.cab

If not pre packaged in an executable, how do we install it?

attached is the rom update utility.
extract this and then put the ruu_signed.nbh file from original post in this folder.
then run ROMUpdateUtility.exe.

Thanks for the advice. I had already figured it out though. :D
I do have to say, this is one amazing ROM for us Telus users. I love the default Telus phone dialer with the colours etc, the EV icon shows up normally, GPS works, Phone programmed itself easily, I just had to switch back to the HTC default black theme and get rid of the RL today plugin you had. I preffer the HTC home plugin myself but that was easily switchable. :D
Two thumbs up. :D
The mobile speed is through the roof! It acts just like it should, just like the stock Telus one! Except I have GPS now and the updated radios working like they should or so it appears. :D It's so fast!

It looks like an OS only update. I'm going to give this a try for the heck of it.
just make sure you have the current unlocker installed and current radio.
Thankz a1jatt for the Telus rom !

I used the current unlocker, and I also updated to the latest radio.

A1jatt, Can you integrate Windows Mobile 6.1 into the rom? I'd love that. :D

^^ i think that will be too buggy right now.
btw i have made some changes today
EvilDeadFan
31st January 2008, 11:40 PM
I'm flashing it now. The changes sound nice. :D
What was with the 300xz breakdown image? I want the Telus startup image. How can I fix that?
Not a fan of pocketzenphone, either. I'd like the ones that comes with Telus. :D
I think you should keep a Telus rom as stock looking as possible, with the upgurades that you've included except for the Today changes. That should look stock, otherwise the user can easily change it themselves. Especially the Telus loading screen which is now a car.

so to use your custom rom do i have to use the unlock app then add your rom then the radio app also? or is this an all in one rom? yes im a noob lol:p
EvilDeadFan
1st February 2008, 12:56 AM
Use the unlocker if you haven't been unlocked yet.
Then boot the boot loader etc by pressing soft power, camera, and the hard reset on the bottom of the phone at the same time.
Once you're in that mode, go to activesync, click on file, connection settings, and uncheck usb while you flash the phone.
His latest download just requires that you double click on romupdateutility.exe and follow the prompts. Then do the radio update and let your phone boot.

I also noticed the camera feature is missing. The shortcut is missing or not working, and when I try to launch it, I get nothing. I tried to take a pic and voila.. fantastic. ;)
turilo
1st February 2008, 01:54 AM
so is it worth this rom update or will i loose my camera feature?
EvilDeadFan
1st February 2008, 02:01 AM
The camera feature is nowhere to be found. I'm getting rid of the rom until this is fixed, and if possible, the things I suggested before. I'll have to cook my own rom some time. :D

I have dcd's telus rom and have been using windows mobile phones ever since the samsung i700. His rom is the smoothest rom I have ever had so far. Keeping in mind it has only been 5 day's. Camera works and the only bug I have found since Sunday, the day I flashed, is the issue with the EV icon and voice mail icon. It's quick, smooth and hasn't locked once.
I'm not posting this to make light of this thread by any means. I appreciate and support anyone that produces rom's. Especially rom's that cater to specific carriers (Telus for me)! I only share this info in regards to my personal experience. The more options, the better it is for everyone. Please continue the great work!

If DCD had fixed the EV icon and the voicemail, I would switch to his.

Yes, it is a little anoying but quite irrelevant compared to the whole package. You still get a cell signal icon to replace these things.

It's a bit of work but if you go back to stock you will get the Telus boot screens back then you can reload dcd's rom.

If I remember correctly, That has to do with an earlier version of the olipro bootloader, make sure you have the mos current one.

Nice work guys. Just a couple of questions:
1) Is there a way to dump (backup) my current installed OS? i.e. The current ROM with all my OS settings?
2) Can someone outline the exact steps? I see some conflicting info reading other boards. Process I have seen is: 1) Unlock, 2) Copy new ROM to SD card 3) Hard reset 4) Update radio
Also, it would be nice to see a sticky with all the required versions of unlocker, etc.
Thanks.

Ok, and the unlocker, ROM update and Radio update are all run from Windows? i.e. Via ActiveSync? If I need to go back to the Telus ROM, do I just download the WM6 image from the HTC site?
Thanks.
a1jatt
1st February 2008, 05:44 AM
hard spl ( unlocker ) is a complete package. you just runt the bat file and follow the directions.
for radio rom you have to use RUU .. most of the time it is include in the package .. you just run ROMUpdateUtility.exe file and it will update the radio part.
procedure is the same for the OS part of the rom.
if you need to go back to telus you can run relocker and then download wm6 from telus website and run that.

That is correct. I didn't like certain things like the car and missing camera, so I simply relocked it, then reinstalled the image right from the HTC site for the P4000, which is the Telus rom.

One other thing I noticed. When you go into the phone settings, click ok and you cannot usually get out. And you definitely cannot choose an mp3 ringtone no matter if you imported it properly or not.

Good start on the rom !
Tested for the day yesterday and did find it to be a little on the slow side.
Can't stand the stock dialer, but thats just me.
Could not get the GPS to work for some reason. Works fine on DCD's ROm.

where you running any other programs ? or just the stock stuff that was built in?
Can't stand the stock dialer, but thats just me.
there is a touch dialer app cab, you can install that.

did you try gps tool? was it able to open the port ?
most likely you have to get to phone settings and enable location settings from there. i think i turned those off on purpose.

I'll stick to the initial rom you released. It's very stable and seems to have all the working services. EVDO works, and gps works flawlessly.

Hey all, after unlocking with Hard-SPL-MFG and then running telus_jan31_a1jatt_os_and_extended via RUU, I get to 100%, P4000 reboots and then sits at the bootup car screen. Only way to get out of this is to load it into bootloader.
I've tried a hard reset, but it just hangs at the car screen again. Any ideas???

Nevermind all, all that was needed was to set the device into bootloader (power, camera, hard reset) and then install latest radio (titan_radio_3.27.00.exe). Let it sit for about a minute and I was into the intiial setup.
Great work, ROM seems amazing

Nice work. Seems to be running very smooth. I do have one question - I notice all my calls show 1X. I don't recall that being the case witht he stock ROM. Is there some issue with the Radio and this ROM? I'm running 3.27.
Further to this..I thought EVDO Rev A, which is supposed to be active in Alberta, would allow simultaneous data and voice. I was unable to launch a browser session while on a call. Should this be possible with this ROM? Thanks.

I'm also running the latest rom, and it does run very nicely. The one little quirk I see is that the new camera application does not have any option whatsoever for a flash. It might not seem important to others but I actually take some lowlight pics where it actually comes in handy.
