what you're seeing is threaded SMS, a feature in WM6.1. if you don't like it, you can turn it off with a registry change.

HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Inbox/Settings/
SMSAvailiable = 0

That disables threaded SMS, but unfortunately it will also disable SMS notifications!

Hi People ,just installed this great looking rom on to my htc touch duel and all works very well apart from I cant seam to receive MMS form my provider (uk orange) I have run the uk orange set up and all the settings look right and check out ok ,when sending an MMS it looks to be working ok .any ideas before I go mader than my normal mad status :rolleyes:confused:

Lovely new ROM, great work. Installed without a hitch on my Touch Dual. Everything seems to work fine except for one thing. When I press and hold the */XT9/SYM button, the menu that should allow me to change input modes doesn't appear. Instead, nothing happens for as long as I hold the button down. Once I release the button, the four-page symbol list appears.

In the ROM settings and "Enable T9" is checked. XT9 works fine in the various places where it enables itself. But sometimes I need to switch to "abc" mode. How can I do that now? Thanks...

Just flashed this wm6.1 rom for a few days and is still exploring.

I have a few problem and hope someone can help me.

1. In Contacts, all my numbers are cut down to 5 digits from 8 and have a pair of left & right arrow afterwards. ie it look like this :

Is there any way I can change back to have all 8 digits without arrow :

2. I cannot receive file beamed by another phone via bluetooth. Is it disabled by default ? How i can enable it ?

3. WM5Storage does not work. Try 1 GB and 4 GB SD card, but no luck.

4. I have enable "Press SEND key to open Call History" in phone settings. The problem is most of the time I press SEND key, the Call History pop up with the title bar blank. I can still make calls, but no able to close the Call History by press END key. The title bar come back if i press "keypad" to open Phone dialer.

Btw, the only thing I like about HTC home is the clock with the messaging/calls icons. The other tabs are useless for me.. not to mention that the tab buttons occupy too much space. So I like that clock of yours with the icons underneath. Currently my today screen is looking like this:

to me, the weather is not much concern of mine since i dont rely on weather forecast that much :D. so a weather as the "main" subject in today is not a very good idea if you ask me. i'm not talking for everyone, just for myself. dont get me wrong.

what should we put in Today screen is the main topic now. since the task, calendar, todo can be added manually, why not you try to customize those usual function we use to look 'cool' and neat.

I like the look and colour of the theme but like others not to sure about the weather, i never use it now, its easier looking out the window.

the other thing i'm not to keen on is the clock style, but i dont like that on the regular htc home prefer it more like this than the digital style

The first i think u need update Hard-SPL for your device.
And for sure u have Hard-SPL already,please go to Bootloader to check it.
Copy my Attachments files and copy to your device.Run it.It will go to your bootloader.
If u see Bootloader page 4 color and in Red Sector show :

NIKI100
SPL-1.16.Hard
CPLD-4

That mean u have Hard-SPL already and can update my rom normal

i had the same problem before. tom told me to unzip the installer using winrar and use the CustomRUU. it worked for me :p

If you have trouble installing [ERROR 202 - Connection failed], try extracting the nbh and the CustomRUU.exe from the install package and running the exe directly, I had to do this before it would flash.

start -> programs -> pda settings -> advanced configuration -> keyboard -> keyboard backlight timeout (change to what you like)

Well, I just reinstalled it. I turned off 3g, let's see. hehe.

RESULTS: I judged the OS a little too soon :). I've used it, and had it on for about 11 hours (almost) and it's at 33%. Wow. What a big increase :). hehe. Great job!

this ROM do not support international (russian letters) for quick search in contacts and messages. For example, when I press 7 on keypad (where is russian X letter located) in contacts view contacts beginning with X is not showing.
Seems this is problem in the ROM because such functionality is supported on WWE ROM without any localization.

What do you think about this?

To everybody who have not default EN keypad - do you can find contacts on your language?

Complete newbie question but is this ROM compatible with the neon 200 version of the touch dual? I do not need the 850 band only 2100 band to work.

This is a OS only ROM, meaning the RADIO part of the phone is left unchanged, so, it might be compatible.
Wait for tom's or any other xda god to confirm this ;)

The slider is working the wrong way around. The quick tasks opens when i close the slider and the keypad only lights up when closed.

Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Just an update on the Neon 200 problem with the sliding keyboard. The only rom that seams to work fine with the sliding keyboard is the standard Telstra Rom, also tried other wm6 roms for the Niki on this device and i get the same slider problem. So just wanted to let you guys know that its not specific to this rom, it´s more of a hardware configuration issue with the device.

I´m not quite experienced enough "Cooking" to be able to break down this problem.

I have a problem.... some hours after I installed this rom when i write an sms I can't tap correctly the word using the hardware keyboard. I have a 20 keys niki.. In the title bar there's not write if you are writing using xt9 or ABC or abc or 123.. nothing... So... help me
I tried to make a soft reset but nothing's changed... then I mada an hard reset and it's ok... but after some hours... same problem...

With problem keyboard hd xt9 : Go to Programs---> PDA Settings---> Rom settings---> Enable xt9 and soft reset device

I had change rom in weeked and after this operation I have problems with emial. WWW work, man from my mobile operator said that my setting are ok, but after configurate email box (IMAP or POP3) I got message that my connection setting are incorrect.

Well xangma, it was the biggest hit for me since I've had my Touch Dual. Once Tom incorporates this new s600 touch.dll in his v2 ROM and releases it.. that will be even bigger. :D

So just to clarify your syncing was working fine on the original HTC rom? My original rom did sync until it came back from reapir, now the original rom or Tom's rom wont sync. It says it syncing and the progress bar goes up and my notes sync but my contacts wont.

Have you checked you firewall settings? My mate has a touch cruise and his wouldn't sync due to his firewall settings (kaspersky) but I use kaspersky too and mine was syncing fine before it went for repair.

Is it worth starting a WMDC issues thread (if there isn't already one) other people must be getting this problem, we can put down all the things we have tried.

hi, i had these problems, all that solved it was un-installing activesync off my PC, then re-installing it. It then found the phone off new installation, BUT when i reconnected it couldnt find it so had to un/reinstall again :(

But you made it into a ROM that I just had to install. :D

For those having problems with syncing, our Touch Dual has a well known very weak and flimsy usb port/socket. Try nudging the cable around and see if your PC reacts (makes a sound that a new hardware was detected or something). I have a Vista laptop and an XP desktop.. I can sync on both with no problems using the Mary ROM.

You might also wanna try unchecking the Enable advanced network functionality on USB to PC settings. If doing that makes the syncing work, then you have to update your WMDC drivers via Windows Update. That's what I did.

Hi,

I've been trying to flash the Niki project ROM to my T-Mobile Touch Dual. But can't seem to make it work. I've followed these instructions, but the USB connection seems to be an issue:

1. download the attached files
2. REMOVE SIM and SD CARDS !!
3. connect usb cable
4. copy sspl-1.16-nike.exe to your device and run it (usb cable must be connected!)
5. after a few seconds "USB" appears on the display
6. unplug and replug the usb cable

At this point WMDC doesn't connect to my device anymore (I've also tried this on an XP/Activesync machine with same problem).

My bootloader screen shows: SPL-1.16.Jump.

Only way to restart Dual is to unplug, remove battery and restart (I get the smart mobility 'not for sale' splash screen). WMDC will then detect handset, but when I try to flash a ROM I lose the connection when the update begins...

Any help much appreciated!

Its pretty easy, dont take a rocket scientist to do it. All you need is a little reading and ignore the risk!

Follow the instruction here to flash your bootloader, you only need to do it once. Unless you want to keep using SSPL its up to you.

You can either SSPL and then HSPL it using the guides in the link, or you SSPL and then you use a cook rom such as the one in this thread.

HSPL makes thing permanent, much easier and can actually save you from a bad flash. Once you HSPL you dont need to run SSPL ever again.

Once you do that, download any rom as I stated earlier, connect your phone by usb, remove sim card and memory card just to be safe, run the RUU flasher and just follow the instruction on screen.

Might be your hardspl isnt flash yet. Can you confirm hardspl flash is succesful?

Tips for flashing for Beginners:
If you can not get Active Sync for XP or Mobile Device Center for Vista to connect/sync so you can flash a ROM, this is an alternate method that works without using either of these two programs.

Heres how
A. Put your device into the "boot loader mode" by holding the Power, Camera Button, and reset button all at the same time until a Red, Green, Blue and White barred screen appears. Screen will say "serial" in the white area.(Rest button under battery cover above USB port)

B.then connect your device to the computer with the USB cable. Wait for the computer to find the driver and it says the device is successfully installed. The device screen then will say "USB" where it used to say "serial".

C. Run the RUU (ROM Upadate Utility aka the ROM file you downloaded)

These steps should work, if not then there may be a cable, computer or driver error between your device and computer. I recomend trying another system at this point.
