Screen goes dark after call

I've looked through the forum for this, but haven't been able to find anything.

I have my backlight set for 2 minutes, which works fine. Unfortunately, after I make a call, the backlight shuts off immediately leaving the screen dark. If I get somebody's voicemail, they want you to hit a certain number on the keypad, and I have to fumble around to turn on the screen, then punch in the number.

Is there a way to fix this?
